Getting the selected index of a table (CL_WD_TABLE) without lead-selection

Hi
When I click in a table-UI (not alv-table) on a f4-help, I can search with se11-searchhelp on a field. After I choose something, I should also fill some other fields in the same row.
In the table I have no lead-selection. So, I am searching for a method that gets me the selected index. The element-class for the table-UI is CL_WD_TABLE.
Once I have the selected index, I could change the fields in the same row inside the WDDOMODIFYVIEW.
With activated node-selection it can be, that the user selects one row, but he starts the f4-help on another row (the lead-selection doesn't change).
I have seen this article, but i hope that for the table-UI it is different than with alv:
[ON_CELL_ACTION triggered only by ENTER ?]

Hi Lorenzo,
I'm trying to do the same thing and came up with this solution. In WDDOMODIFYVIEW, since we cannot know in which table row the user clicked the search help, I simply loop through all the rows of the table. For each row, I delegate to a method in the Component Controller which sets the specified index as the table's lead selection then reads the selected table row from the context. I can then populate fields in the selected row as needed.
METHOD wddomodifyview .
   DATA lo_componentcontroller TYPE REF TO ig_componentcontroller.
   DATA lo_nd_items TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node.
   DATA lt_items TYPE wd_this->elements_items.
* -- Upon return from the search help, populate table row details
   lo_componentcontroller = wd_this->get_componentcontroller_ctr( ).
   lo_nd_items = wd_context->get_child_node( name = wd_this->wdctx_items ).
   lo_nd_items->get_static_attributes_table( IMPORTING table = lt_items ).
* Since we cannot know in which table row the user requested the search help,
* loop through all table rows, populating table row details as needed.
   DESCRIBE TABLE lt_items LINES sy-tfill.
   DO sy-tfill TIMES.
*   Delegate to the Component Controller
     lo_componentcontroller->get_table_row_detail( sy-index ).
   ENDDO.
ENDMETHOD.

  • ¿How can I to get the selected index from a table in sapui5?

    I have a multiselect table for each item I need to open a Dialog and bind then the table.
    How Can I to obtain the index position from my table?
    var myTable = sap.ui.getCore().byId(this.sId);
    var myItem = sap.ui.getCore().byId(myTable.getSelectedItem());
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    You can also use getSelectedContexts of table instance to get the selected indices of sap.m.Table
    var aContexts = myTable.getSelectedContexts(true);
    for(var i = 0 ; i < aContexts.length ; i++)
    var selectedIndex = parseInt(aContexts[i].sPath .split("/")[2]);
    Thanks,

  • How to get the selected rows & columns in the table?

    hi everybody,
                         In my application the table is kept inside the event structure.I select the cells  in the table (using mouse) on running time.How to get the selected number of rows & columns in that table?

    Hello,
    You can fill selected values of the table by writing to it or the corresponding property using a property node - the table is just a 2D array of strings.  I think for your "disable" question you are referring to the shortcut menu (when you right click).  If you are using LabVIEW 8.x, you can edit or disable that shortcut menu - just right click on your table at edit time and choose Advanced >> Run-Time Shortcut Menu.

  • How to get the column index of the selected column

    Hi All,
    I have a dynamically populated advanceddatagrid. Iam trying to edit any column of a particular row. In my as file im able to get the row index using selecteditem property. But I need to get the column Index and the updated value of the column to be passed from the as file to the java method.
    So that I can update the DB with the updated value. Can somebody help with a sample code.

    ...then index 0 becomes index 1 and my program doesn't work properlyThe program works properly, just not as you expect it to.
    As you've noticed the table gives you the flexibility to move columns around. So if you move column 0 to column 1, why would you expect to still use 0 as the index? The table manages the reordering of columns for you to make sure the data being displayed in each table column comes from the correct column in the data model.
    You can manage this yourself using one of the following methods (I forget which one):
    table.convertColumnIndexToModel(int viewColumnIndex)
    table.convertColumnIndexToView(int modelColumnIndex)
    Or, you can get data from the data model directly:
    table.getModel().getValueAt(row, 0);

  • How to get the selected entry from a Dropdown (using IF_WD_SELECT_OPTIONS)

    Hello,
    I created a Selection screen by adding attribute M_HANDLER of type IF_WD_SELECT_OPTIONS.
    This way I can create a selection screen with normal select-options.
    Now I added a parameter for a dropdown list. The Value set is passed correctly. No problem there. The values are filled and diplayed correctly.
    * add the SHIP-TO field to the selection
      DATA: ltp_text  TYPE string.
      DATA: lta_ship_to_table type WDY_KEY_VALUE_table,
            lwa_ship_to       like LINE OF lta_ship_to_table.
      DATA: context_node_ship_to_table TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node.
    * get all declared attributes
      context_node_ship_to_table = wd_context->get_child_node( 'SHIP_TO_TABLE' ).
      context_node_ship_to_table->get_static_attributes_table(
        IMPORTING
          table  = lta_ship_to_table ).
      ltp_text = wd_assist->if_wd_component_assistance~get_text( 'L01' ).
      wd_this->m_handler_dlv->add_parameter_field(
                             i_id           = 'KUNWE'
                             i_description  = ltp_text
                             i_as_dropdown  = 'X'
                             it_value_set   = lta_ship_to_table
                             i_within_block = 'BLK1' ).
    The problem is to GET the selected value in the method that is called after clicking on the Search button.
    I tried using several methods, for example GET_PARAMETER_FIELD and GET_SELECTION_SCREEN_ITEMS.
    * Get the Ship-to
      DATA: ltp_kunwe       TYPE REF TO data.
      ltp_kunwe = wd_this->m_handler_dlv->get_value_of_parameter_field(
                                            i_id = 'KUNWE' ).
    * Assign it to a field symbol
      ASSIGN ltp_kunwe->* TO <fs_kunwe>.
    Result was INITIAL.
    DATA: lrf_get_selection_screen_items TYPE if_wd_select_options=>tt_selection_screen_item.
      wd_this->m_handler_dlv->get_selection_screen_items(
                  IMPORTING
                     et_selection_screen_items = lrf_get_selection_screen_items ).
    Result was INITIAL, although the table was retrieved with all values.
    wd_this->m_handler_dlv->get_parameter_field(
                                          EXPORTING
                                            i_id = 'KUNWE'
                                          IMPORTING
                                            e_value = ltp_kunwe ).
    Also INITIAL.
    It looks like I am missing a step (maybe to set lead selection for this field). What did I miss?
    How can I get to the value?

    Thanks!
    Problem solved:
    DATA: lr_value             TYPE REF TO data.
    CREATE DATA lr_value TYPE string.                     "<----  I was missing this code

    *    INSERT value_set INTO TABLE lt_value_set.
        append value_set TO lt_value_set.
      ENDLOOP.
      ltp_text = wd_assist->if_wd_component_assistance~get_text( 'L01' ).
      wd_this->m_handler_dlv->add_parameter_field(

    I looked at that parameter, but thought is was only used to SET the value, not required to get it back as well. Because it IS an import parameter...

  • How to get the column index inside a dataTable

    Hello,
    before I get staked, there are multiple threads handling familiar topics to the one I'm questioning about but none gives an anwer. If there is one, I'm propably to less skilled to see it.
    So here is my Problem: I've build a web-interface to a time-recording system. The hours worked on a certain project are displayed in a dataTable component which is generated out of a mySQL Query. Each entry (column/row) contains a inputText component to display and edit the specific value.
    Editing one of these inputText elements now fires a valueChangeEvent which reads the new value and stores it in the database. For that cause I need to know the row- and column-index of the inputText component that fired the event.
    Using the getClientId method from the valueChangeEvent I get some Information which makes it possible to calculate the row/column index. A typical clientID looks like "form_table:mainTable:0:_id14". "form_table" is the ID of the form the dataTable is in. "mainTable" is the id of the dataTable component. "0" is the row the component is in. And finally "_id14" stands for the id randomly given to the inputText component by JSF.
    My Problem is now, that though I can calculate the column out of the[i] "_id14", this calculation is hardcoded. So everytime I add a component in before the dataTable, the calculation needs to be adjusted in the code.
    The Questions:
    - How to force a sensefull id indicating a column-index for the inputText components inside the columns of a dataTable?
    - Nicer since no workaround: How to get the column-index inside the dataTable on a natural way? (e.g. out of the valueChangeEvent the specific inputText component fires)
    After some investigation here on the board and on the net I know multiple ways to get the row index, (Things like component-binding and so on) but I can't find a answer on how to get the column-index.
    Thanks to all answers and/or links to things my eyes missed while searching for one.

    ...then index 0 becomes index 1 and my program doesn't work properlyThe program works properly, just not as you expect it to.
    Or, you can get data from the data model directly:
    table.getModel().getValueAt(row, 0);

  • Getting the attribute value from a table from page def using el expression.

    Hi,
    Am using Jdeveloper 11.1.2.0.0 and have a requirement as follows for which a sample is been created. Requirement is as follows..
    1. Have a Taskflow that has a readonly table Employee.
    2. On clicking of a button called "route" checks if the selected row , Manager id attribute value = 200 then navigate to first page else if manager id attribute value is 200 then navigate to second page.
    Through the page def , if it has form , then we can access the attributes like #{data.view_FirstPageDef.ManagerId} . In case of acquiring the same attribute value from table using page def ? is what am unable to get..
    Have achieved the routing concept using the Router activity on Taskflow. But am unable to get the selected row attribute value of a table from the employee page def.. Can someone suggest on the same...
    Thanks and Regards,
    Vinitha G

    On the router, right click its icon in the task flow and create a page definition. Then in the page def file, add an iterator based on the same View Object from the table in the first page, then add a value attribute mapped to managerId in the View Object iterator. Finally in the router you can write EL expressions along the lines of #{bindings.ManagerId.inputValue = 200} or #{bindings.ManagerId.inputValue != 200}.

  • Is there a way to get the selection order for selectedProperties?

    app.project.activeItem.selectedLayers seems to be ordered by the selection order, but app.project.activeItem.selectedProperties (at least in Shape Layers) seems to be ordered by the stacking order. Is there a way to get the selection order for selectedProperties?
    Thank you!

    Hi,
    i had tried to investigate this a while back and it's really hard to figure out.
    The array seems to be reorganized using various rules:
         At layer level : preserve the user layer selection order,
         Children of indexed groups : propertyIndex ordering,
         Children of named groups : some internal ordering.
    The following is may be more detail than necessary, and given that it is based on observation, not official docs, it is not so reliable, but well, it might still be of interest !!
    Say you have 2 selected properties A, and B, and call [COMMON PARENT] their "greatest common ancestor", that is:
            A = [COMMON PARENT].property(a1).... property(aA);
            B = [COMMON PARENT].property(b1).... ...property(bB);
    with a1 != b1. Then:
    if [COMMON PARENT] = A (ie if A is an ancestor of B), then A comes first.
            For instance: if you select comp.layer(1).mask(1).maskPath, there are 2 selected properties, the mask group and its maskPath: the first is the group and the second the path (the parent comes first).
    if [COMMON PARENT] is the containing composition, ie A is a property inside comp.layer(a1), and B a property inside comp.layer(b1), then A and B are ordered according to the layers selection order.
            This can have some strange side effects. For instance:
                deselect everything
                select comp.layer(2) (and nothing else)
                select comp.layer(1).transform.position
                select comp.layer(2).transform.position
                ===> comp.selectedProperties = [comp.layer(2).transform.position, comp.layer(1).transform.position] even though the first entry was effectively selected after the second...
    if [COMMON PARENT] is an indexed group, A and B are ordered by propertyIndex
            For instance:
                if you select comp.layer(1).mask(2), then comp.layer(1).mask(1), mask(1) appears before mask(2)
    if [COMMON PARENT] is a named group, ... no clue (internal ordering).
            For instance, at propertyDepth 1, it seems that Time Remapping < Effects < Masks < Material Options < Transform, etc, independantly of the selection order, and this is also not the propertyIndex ordering.
            At higher depth, in CS5 the ordering seems to be the propertyIndex ordering, but it is no longer true in CC.
            For instance, selected Position (index 2), Scale (index 6) and Opacity (index 11) in various order on the same layer.
            in CS5 : selectedProperties = [Position, Scale, Opacity];    // propertyIndex ordering, always
            in CC : selectedProperties = [Scale, Position, Opacity];    // always the same ordering, but not the propertyIndex one
    So the ordering is a lexicographic ordering (Compare the ancestor of depth 0. If no difference, compare the ancestor of depth 1. If no diff, compare the ancestor at depth 2. And so forth).
    But at each step, the comparaison depends on the type of the ancestor, and when the type is named group, the ordering is internal so we can't know.
    Practically the most important thing is that selected properties seem to be reorganized by "containing layer" (the layer selection is preserved),
    and then in each layer selected properties are "grouped by same parent": you can't have a mask related property, then an effect related property, then another mask related property:
    all masks related properties appears together, all effect related properties appear together, etc.
    If several effects are selected, effect(1) and all its properties appear first (if selected), then effect(2) and all its properties would appear second etc
    and so forth
    Xavier.

    I have problem getting the selected row.
    If not mistaken, the way used in BalusC's website sets the value to the backing bean using the valueChangeListener.

  • Get the data from data base tables

    Hi ..
    Iam preparing quotation layout . In that i have to display the address in address window form two tables, means i have to get the address by using two tables like have to select the data from that tables ...
    How can i do that one?
    Can anybody expalin abt that pls...
    Regards,
    pandu.

    Hello,
    If you are looking at fetching the adress details for partner function(Say Ship to, Sold to , payer etc) in the quotation, then you can proceed like this:
    Take the Quotataion number and the item number and the respective partner function say PY for payer etc and then Go to VBPA table and fetch field ADRNR from the table for this partner. With this ADRNR call the FM  ADDR_SELECT_ADRC_SINGLE and as an output of this FM, you will get address details.
