The Staff reply was at best curt and less than helpful
I'm also ripping out my har having bought the Elements 11 combined pack and no matter how I try to install (disk, internet download etc. it always errors out e.g.

I keep getting an error when trying to install Java for OS X 2014-001

I was trying to download this because I was getting errors when trying open some applications saying you need Java 6 and it directed me to the download link for this but it always gets and error when installing.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen. The contents of the log will appear on the right. Each log message begins with a timestamp. Getting an error when trying to install adobe acrobat xi pro

I am trying to install my recently purchased Adobe Acrobat XI Pro and am getting an error message during the installation process

while trying to install photoshop cc im getting this error "Camera Profiles Installer 8.0.0.22 {C6182313-E9BE-4987-A912-65C1F9A207AE}' information not found in Media_db" how do i fix this issue?

Delete the media_db.db in your Adobe caps folder.
use win explorer (win) or finder (mac) to locate your caps folder, or google with a reference to your os.

The error I get is:

Error: failed to commit transaction (invalid or corrupted package)
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.
Is this a problem I can fix?

Did you try deleting it from the cache and redownloading?
And searching the forums will probably come up with lots of threads where people ran into similar issues

I could really use your help on getting my iTunes to work again. I followed your previous comments on trying to help others with the problems involving 'Apple Moblie Device unable to start', as I have the same problem, and I think i've narrowed down what could be the problem. My computer wont install updates and hasn't for a while. It installs the optional ones but never the important ones.
I have unistalled all Apple programs using CCleaner. When i try to install it again i install Quicktime first, but now AppleApplicationSupport will not work.
iTunes still has the same error as it did before which was 'Apple Moblie Device unable to start' and something about no privelages.
Please could you help me?

Hi, I tried to download the OS X Mavericks update for my mid-2012 model of the Macbook Pro - 15 inch, but it would not install. For whatever reason it keeps saying: Unknown Error. Please try again later (04). I don't know why this is happening. My friend downloaded it smooth. Anyone have a fix?
P.S: It won't go past after I enter my pssword to download it.

There is no bug. While you can update your iOS via wi-fi, it's recommended to do so via USB & iTunes. Depending on your wi-fi connection & singal strength, you can get errors. That's not a function specifically of the device.

Keep getting unexpected error when trying to install 10.7.2

I have Lion 10.7.1 right now and every time I try to update to 10.7.2 it fails. Just says an unexpected error occured and I have to restart. It doesn't say what the error is. I even tried to update using a direct link and update using it but it still failed to install. I have no idea what is going on. I would really appreciate any help.

Get error when trying to install Leopard on Power Mac G5

Specs are G5 1.8 GHz
1 GB of RAM
80 GB HDD
Error is: Mac OS X cannot be installed on this computer: this software cannot be installed on this computer.
I am using retail Mac OS X install disc.\
Any ideas?

None of the Gray Discs will work, they're all machine specific, & IntelMac only too.

That one only works on certain model MBPs, for 15 inch MacBook Pros manufactured between October 2008 and June 2009.
Perhaps if you had the Black Retail Leopard Disc & put it in the MBP's drive, then booted the MBP into Target mode...
