Getting Timezone of obiee client

Hi All,
i need to get the Timezone information of the client session in OBIEE 11g
if user is logged in India basically it should return something like 'Asia/Calcutta' , i tried using various presentation variables @{session.timeZone} ,@{session.timeZone.name} etc after setting the preference but this is returning *(GMT+05:30) Calcutta, Chennai, Mumbai, New Delhi*
i need this time zone information so that i can convert the datetime values as per the user's locality using FROM_TZ(cast(XYZ as timestamp), 'CET') at time zone *'Asia/Calcutta'*

Hi, I am using HP11 and iPlanet web server. When trying to upload files over HTTP using FORM ENCTYPE="multipart/form-data" that are bigger than a few Kilobytes i get a 408 error. (client timeout). It is as if the server has decided that the client has timed out during the file upload. The default setting is 30 seconds for AcceptTimeout in the magnus.conf file. This should be ample to get the file across, even increasing this to 2 minutes just produces the same error after 2 minutes. Any help appreciated. Apologies if this is not the correct forum for this, I couldn't see one for iPlanet and Web, many thanks, Kieran.

You didnt mention which version of IWS. follow these steps.
(1)Goto Web Server Administration Server, select the server you want to manage.
(2)Select Preference >> Perfomance Tuning.
(3)set HTTP Persistent Connection Timeout to your choice (eg 180 sec for three minutes)
(4) Apply changes and restart the server.
*Setting the timeout to a lower value, however, may prevent the transfer of large files as timeout does not refer to the time that the connection has been idle. For example, if you are using a 2400 baud modem, and the request timeout is set to 180 seconds, then the maximum file size that can be transferred before the connection is closed is 432000 bits (2400 multiplied by 180)

we have developed an application using oracle forms 10g with
oracle database 10g and Application server 10g
Application uses a single Oracle User name to connect to database
where as at Application level there are different users (these are not database users)
Now how can we get the information about the user/his machine etc. at database level. earlier in 6i/8i we use to get by using
USERENV('TERMINAL')
we had written a triggers on tables on Insert/Update where we used to update a database field Last user terminal with USERENV('TERMINAL')
but not this information is comming to be the machine name of application server where as we wish this to be the machine name of Client. Any Way outs

Getting the Lync 2010 client to use 2013 Persistent Chat

We are migrating to Lync 2013 from 2010 and just testing the 2013 environment right now with a few users. Only thing left I need to configure is getting the Lync 2010 client to connect to the 2013 Persistent Chat server. Most of our users are Windows XP
so they can only use the 2010 client.
We did not have Group Chat prior to this so Persistent Chat is new to everyone. I created the Persistent Chat Endpoint in Lync 2013 per the article
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj204901.aspx but now what.
The article tells you how to create the endpoint but that's it. What else is needed. Does a Lync user in 2013 need to exist that matches the SIP addresses in the command? The icon for Persistent Chat is not showing up in the Lync 2010 client so something
is missing.

You still need this endpoint, as long you will Need Lync 2010 Chat clients. Without this endpoint, you will be able to login but could not find any chat rooms.
For login you use your normal Lync credential. Lync Chat server has not deployed before.
Have you test to use the Pchat with this user on a Lync 2013 client?

Could not get system landscape directory client - NWDS 7.31 SP 09

Hi Experts,
We are unable to import development configurations from NWDI 7.4 to NWDS 7.31 for one of the developer's id. Other developers are able to import the
configuration successfully in NWDS and are able to create projects without any issues. In fact, I am able to import the development configurations from his Id on my machine.

we had some issues recently with this, and the trace also mentions proxy issues. Could you please try direct connection in that preferences (in other words do not use proxy settings in NWDS) ?
Is it possible that there is some kind of web-filter application installed that is blocking the request?
I'd suggest to google for this error:
407 (Proxy Authentication Required ( Forefront TMG requires authorization to fulfill the request. Access to the Web Proxy filter is denied. ))
Perhaps the problem is not even sap related.
Is Microsoft Forefront TMG (Threat Management Gateway after some googleing) perhaps configured in the way that it is not allowing this request ? Perhaps the IT guys of your company could look into this.

Find the LTCM Client in the list of installed programs and follow the prompts to remove it.

Redirecting get command inside ftp client?

Is it possible to redirect get command inside ftp client?
I was only able to do "get filename /dev/null" to redirect it to /dev/null.. However.. what if I want to redirect it to a compression or decompression utility?
Example of ftp script I used:

PASSWD='password'
FILE=$1
ftp -i -n $HOST <<END_SCRIPT
user ${USER} ${PASSWD}

get $FILE

END_SCRIPT

The file I am trying to get is a compressed file, I would like to pipe it into decompression utility like gunzip.

Solved it. I found that I could access ftp server with wget as well, and redirect it's output to another utility:
time wget --user=username --password=password -qO - ftp://serverName/file.gz | gunzip -cf > /dev/null

OBIEE client setup question:
First time setup connecting to SAP. We have the SAP Adapters setup on our OBIEE server, but are not able to configure the OBIEE client to connect to SAP datasources. We have Windows 7 32-bit and retrieved from SAP Marketplace the SAR file (SAP NW RFC SDK 7.20) for the BAPI adapter.
The error is "Failed to load the DLL C:\<install path>\server\bin\nqsdbgatewaysapbapi.dll. Check if 'BAPI' database client is installed."
Any direction/advice would be most appreciated from someone who has a successful OBIEE > SAP working connection.

Re-installed the BAPI database driver on the Server and it resolved this error. It was not a client install issue.
UPDATED:
Removed "Correct" Answer and updated this to "Unanswered". The BAPI database driver is on the Server and the error can be bypassed by connecting to the Server (Remote Desktop) and working with the RPD file in "Online" mode. We still receive this error with the OBIEE Client.
Still looking for a solution for the OBIEE client connecting to SAP BW datasources.

The chat capability has been removed by the operator but apparently, according to its support, it is possible to get the original configuration from Nokia. Unfortunately, there are some insurmountable barriers in SAP. When a transaction calls another one using CALL TRANSACTION, a new internal mode is created, that cannot see the first one, except when programs communicate explicitly between the 2 using the SAP memory (get parameter id, set parameter id), ABAP memory (export to memory id/import from...), shared memory.
Only Chen's answer makes sense here. You may also debug just before the CALL TRANSACTION 'FB05' or LEAVE TO TRANSACTION 'FB05' (by debug you can simply add a soft "breakpoint at statement" CALL TRANSACTION or LEAVE TO TRANSACTION to make the system halt automatically when the statement is reached) where you'll maybe find some data transferred to the memories I mentioned above, which you could then read from your code to know to say if it comes from FEBAN.
