Getting Titles Behind objects in a scene

I was watching tv and most of the movie trailers now have the Titles behind an object in the scene while other things are happening. In other words, Actors are walking right through the titles.
Fringe does this a lot with their titles.
How can I do something similiar?

You need to create a mask to produce the illusion of an object being behind another object. You can do this in After Affect or Motion.
Basically,
put the clip you want to title on the V1,
Put the title on v2
Put a masked version of the clip on v1, on v3
Mask the forground (v3) clip you want to have the title behind. The mask will hide all parts of the clip you DO NOT want to see in the forground.
Now that you have the forground isolated, it is simply a matter of layering the clips, and using the blending option.
It's a very straight forward prossess, but it will take some time to create the mask

Video titling behind moving objects

i recently saw a titling effect in a video, in which a motorcycle drove across the screen and as it passed a title appeared behind it. how does one create video titling behind moving objects? i have no experience in animation, so i'm guessing that the video layer is duplicated and the top layer masked, frame by frame? would an 8-point garbage matte work?

You won't have an easy time doing this in FCP, but Motion, After Effects, or ultimately Shake, can do this a lot easier. You have to rotoscope the motorcycle, accounting for the rims, and space between the engine parts, or anywhere else where you would logically see through to the background, then duplicate that layer on top of the original, with the text in between the two layers. Depending on how long the clip is, you're in for a long haul. But if the footage is anything but DV25, clip analysis and automated keyframing might serve you well as a starting point after the initial mask is made.

Menu is getting hidden behind pdf object in Internet Explorer.

I am developing a web app, in which I am using object tag to show pdf files. The page is working fine in Chrome, Firefox browser and other browsers too except for Internet Explorer.
Problem:
The submenu options are getting hidden behind the pdf object tag in Internet Explorer(all).

This should be a bug in IE, you can try submit it to the IE connect and wait for MS's reply.

Getting the Request Object in the EJB published as a Web Service

Hi experts,
I have a Portal Service that call a BAPI in a back-end system with the Connector Framework. I have a Portal Component that calls the Portal Service, passing the Locale (request.getLocale()) and the User (request.getUser()) object. It's work fine!
I need to call the Portal Service by an EJB that is published as a Web Service. The connection between the EJB and Portal Service is ok, but I don't know how to get the Locale and the User object in the EJB to pass to the Portal Service.
Is possible to get the request object from the HTTP SOAP Request?

Hey Alice!
The Feature Hashing module is actually a wrapper around
Vowpal Wabbit's implementation of the murmurhash. Thus, it takes text in, and produces 2^N new features based on the text, where N is the bitsize specified in the module. These features (and not the original text!) should be used during model training.
The Learner will then keep track of these features behind the scenes.
When you publish your web service and these features are recomputed for new input text (same N), they are used as the features for scoring.
Does that make sense?

How can I get the underlying object from the ObjectReference

I think this question has been asked a couple of times. But, I am still wondering if anybody has found an answer to it. Maybe this is some common need ...
I would like to get the underlying object for which the ObjectReference is
a mirror For example, I have a class Customer in my application, and I can get an ObjectReference through JDI during runtime. But how can I get the target VM's object which is a real instance of Customer, by which I can invoke methods defined in Customer?

I'll preface this response by admitting this far from an elegant solution, but I did write a function addressing this question, mostly as an exercise.
If passed an object with an InTextFrame property (Pgf, AFrame, Cell, Fn) that resides in an open document, the function will return the Doc object. Otherwise, it returns undefined.

Hi, I am using jboss server and jdk5 version and using EJB.
My Application flow :
JSP à Action(Struts) à Service Locator à Session bean à Entity Bean(cmp) à DB.
I tried to get the UserTransaction object in my Action. Its my code.
InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();

After used uTrans.begin(),uTrans.commit() and uTrans. rollback () also.
Its working fine .
But, I used the the same code inside in my session bean its not working.

first of all, you could just use sessionContext.getUserTransaction(). however, that would only work if your bean is using bean-managed transactions. the default is container-managed transaction, in which case you cannot get a UserTransaction object. if you want to manage transactions, you need to add the TransactionManagementType.BEAN annotation to your ejb.

The reference to the container is actually also accessing the object inside the container. Use the Property Node and Invoke Node to access properties and launch methods for the object. I've attached a small example that passes the reference to a SubVI and invokes a method inside the SubVI.

Any body tell me how to get the view object , like the view object avilable in the wdDoModifyView() method as parameter.
I have requirement like, i want to change the , no of rows displaying in the table should be changed at the runtime based onthe no of rows selected in the dropdown box.
The action which i created will be assigned to that dropdown box, on select of the available option, i will get the view object and change the properties of the "maxrows" of the table .
so for getting the view object in the the Action methods tell me what is the procedure for getting the current view object.

Simply create a value attribute (say rowCount) of type 'integer' and bind it to the 'visibleRowCount' property of your table. Then, in the actionHandler get the value from the UI element (in your case, I guess it is drop down) and set it to the attribute 'rowCount' like this.

Do you mean you want to set the title? If so you can specify the title in one of the many static methods available ie.
JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(parent, "some message", "some title", JOptionPane.ERROR_MESSAGE);
Otherwise if you are trying to get the title try..
String title = "some title";
JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(parent, "some message", title , JOptionPane.ERROR_MESSAGE);
then you can write some other code using title.

Unable to get the admin object for the CsContainerAdmin service

Hi,
On AIX, we deployed XIR2 SP2 --> XIR2 SP3 --> SP3 Productivity Pack.
The Conection server does show up on the server list in the CMC, but on trying to access this server, it throws an error" Unable to get the admin object for the CsContainerAdmin service"
Tried to manually create another Connection server, same result.
Is this an issue that is addressed by a later FP?

Were you able to resolve this issue? I am facing the same issue with almost every BOE 11.5 SP3 server on Windows.
For example, the Input file server says this -
"Unable to get the admin object for the FileServerAdmin service for server Input.BOCMSMSGT1.fileserver".
Getting the same error on WebI Report Server as well -
There was an error while retrieving data from the server: Unable to get the admin object for the WebiServerAdmin service for server BOPROCENG1.Web_IntelligenceReportServer.webiserver

Why do I get "Error 1 occured at Config Data Registry.vi(get data) invalid object 0" while starting my application?

Why do I get "Error 1 occured at Config Data Registry.vi(get data) invalid object 0" when starting my application created in LabVIEW 7.1? I am starting the application in a PXI rack running Windows XP. I have an executable written in LabVIEW 7.0 that runs without this error. After clicking the Continue button in the error, the application seems to continue happily.
Is there something I need to include when I make the executable?
I would like to understand and eliminate this start up error.

Hi Bob,
I looked through the program and I figured out where the error is coming from, and potentially what is causing it. In a lot of the cases of the program you are searching a 1-D array for the name of the case, and if you don't find it then it skips the function and gives "Error 1 occurred at Config Data Registry.vi(CASENAME) invalid object 0". I attached a screenshot that shows what I mean. The Search 1-D Array.vi is returning a -1 which means it didn't find the case. The reason I believe this is happening is because the shift register for that array is not initialized. While the other cases "reset" and "register" interact with the array shift registers and most likely create the array you need, if the program defaults to the "get data" case then it will try to run that before registering and won't have an array to search. This would also explain why it only has this problem at first and seems to run just fine after that. To fix this you should either make an initial array and wire it into the shift register or make the "reset" case the default as opposed to the "get data" case.
