Getting track, artist, album data to post on iTunes downloads

ITunes when downloaded does provide tack names, album, artist, composer, etc data that will print out on an insert for a jewel case. How do I get this info to transfer to my 321 GSX when the newly burned CD is recorded on my Bose unit? Entering this data manually via the Bose software is time consumming and very tedious. This data is captured (typically) by the 321 GSX when a CD bought at a store is added to the recorded library.

I guess the question is what information does the ID tag show? My car player manual says only the song name will appear.
Using toast (I haven't got an iTunes mp3 disk to work in my car player) it seem that toast uses the file name as the ID tag. One song showed up as Dive on iTunes, when I imported it to toast it showed up as 01 Dive.mp3, the actual file name, and "01 Dive" showed in the text window of the car player.
So if you wanted to have all the information you would like ONE way to do it is to copy the artist and album data and add it to the name in toast, probably in front of the .mp3 suffix. Then it should show you the name, artist and album.

You can Right-Click too to bring up the Get Info dialog box. If you go to the artwork tab, (the last tab) then you can click the add button, and a standard Mac dialog box opens and you can navigate to the jpg file of your choice in a normal Mac fashion.

  • HT203164 how do i get track names transferred to CD burned from itunes?

teh equestion has it all - if i burn playlists I gte track 1, 2 etc and not names from playlists

It still is simple, but as always you get the track names before you import the CD.  iTunes has a preference setting so it will always do that or you can re-identify a CD using a menu item (see below).  Once they are imported there is no way in iTunes to get the identification service to work.  There are third party services that work outside of iTunes but for a single CD it is easier to just reimport the whole thing after correctly identifying first.

  • Re-naming Track, Artist, Album Info in iTunes- Please Help!

I transferred some of my audio tracks that were already on my computer to my iTunes library, but some of the info. is messed up (Album Name is Blank or the track name is saved as the Artist and Song Title).
I have iTunes installed on my other computer and I just had to click on the space a second time to change the information. It's not doing that now. How do I change the information & make it so I just have to click on it to change it?

Hey Melanie try right clicking and clicking get info that will load up a page that will let you update the entire info for the track instead of doing each piece of info at a time

  • Complete my album - Seriously??? Can't get track in Album & EP

For reasons I'd rather not get into I am looking at trying to have a copy of a song from an EP I bought also show up in the Album that I bought using "Complete my album". I am aware that I can change the information under "Get Info" to match either the EP or the Album but apparently it isn't possible to duplicate the track and import the two seperate files' information. I have the track in the EP folder and a copy of the track in the Album folder. The album track has been modified to match the album information but iTunes does not recognize/import that new file at all. Anyone have a solution for this?

The following will work (I just tried it!):  Put a copy of the file on your desktop.  Use a non-iTunes program, such as Winamp, to edits its tags to reflect the other album or EP.
Then you can add it to your iTunes library and it will show in the correct place, without interfering with the other version.

  • I can no longer edit my track/artist/album info.

Normally I would right click ---> Get Info and edit my track or go to File ---> Get Info and do the same.
I am able to get to the point of changing the information, but after I make the changes, I click OK, but they are not reflected in iTunes.
Is there a setting with 7.0 that I need to enable to allow editing? Thanks!

Your iTunes may be corrupted. Try re-installing iTunes 7 and see if that fixes your problem. I have used the function as recent as an hour ago and have not had a problem with editing. I did not have to enable any settings to be able to do so either. I am not sure if there is a setting for that but I assume if there is you would find it under the "Preferences" in one of the tabs.
    Good luck!

  • After getting the up-to-date Mountain Lion, can I download it on other devices?

    Hi,
In July, I purchased a 2012 13 inch Macbook Pro that qualified for the up-to-date Mountain Lion. I received it and installed it. I also was allowed to install it for free on my 2011 13 inch Macbook Pro. However, I couldn't do the same for my 2011 15 inch Macbook Pro. Instead of saying "install", it said "Buy app, $19.99". If I click "buy app", will I have to pay $19.99 or will it give it to me for free?

The copy of Mountain Lion you get through the Up-To-Date program is for installing exclusively on the qualifiying hardware. If you want to install on other hardware you own you'll need to make a seperate purchase.
You might want to read over the license agreement that is available via the MAS.

  • HT204406 How can i get tracks with "waiting" status to upload to itunes match.

I have completely cleared my library and started again. i have 24000 tracks in library but only 15000 + are uploading. leaving a further 6000 or so with a "waiting" status. i have tried the update itunes match option which runs through the full process and on completion is still leaving the tracks with "waiting" status.
    any ideas??

I have the same issue, although I only have about 2500 tracks and half of them are in waiting. I read a few other peoples issues with this problem and checked and found that all the songs (or whatever it is) are not in the folder they were in, in fact they are not on my computer anymore! They are still in the cloud i guess, well the information is, but the songs arent.  So now I have to go back and re-import all the CD's that are missing.  I did reinstall itunes before this happened which probably had something to do with it, but whenever I tried to update itunes match it would freeze my computer and give me an error.  So I reinstalled and now it works but half my music is gone! and alot of it was not on CD, I had gotten online, but when I go to check purchases/downloads available, it says everything that can be has been.  It ***** because it takes so long and I know I have lost some of the songs since I got them online and dont have a hard copy.  But basically you need to check to make sure the files are in the folder that itunes is looking in, and that they are ON your computer or server.  Then re-import if you have to, and update itunes match (if your using) then icloud should recognize.  Ill let you know if this works for me since I am in the process of doing just that.

  • ITunes get every Artist

Is there a way to get a list of every artist in the iTunes library, and not have duplicates of it, and have it sorted alphabetically?
I tried "get artist of every track of playlist "Library"" but that didn't really give me what I wanted.
Also, I'm sure the process would be nearly the same, but I would also like to generate a list of all the albums in the Library.
When I say "list" I don't actually want/need a list I suppose. I want something like the "every track of playlist "Library"" so I can put it through a repeat to wrap the stuff in some html.

    Hello Neil D,
In order to get album name by artist name, the following code is the simplest one though it may be slow for large number of tracks.
(You have to specify container object to get its elements, e.g., 'tell playlist to get its tracks' or 'get tracks of playlist'. Your posted code didn't work because it fails to do so.)
    -- SCRIPT (album by artist)
    tell application "iTunes"
    --set p to playlist "Library"
set p to view of browser window 1
    tell p
set bb to album of tracks whose artist = "XXXX"
--set bb to album of tracks whose artist contains "XXXX"
    end tell
    return bb
    end tell
-- END OF SCRIPT (album by artist)
As for getting unique artist names in ascending order, you may try this. It is written in plain AppleScript. You may, however, modify the code to employ shell commands, sort(1) and uniq(1), which should be faster for large list, via 'do shell script' osax.
    -- SCRIPT
      get unique artists list
      v0.1
    main()
    on main()

  • FA-retirement-Asset value date and posting date are not in same fisc year

    Hello,
I would like to post retirement in the new fiscal year but with asset value date in the previous year so that NBV is calculated correctly. It is not possible neither in ABAON nor in ABAVN with any transaction type.
I always get message 'Asset value date and posting date are not in same fiscal year'.
Is there any way how to handle this?
    Thank you,
    Jan

    Hi,
I have tried this but the settings of our Depr keys works in the way. That if you use asset value date in the new month it will calculate depreciation for the whole month.
This means if I retire with asset value date 31.12.2008 - NBV will be calculated as at 31.12.2008.
If I retire with asset value date 1.1.2008 - NBV will be calculated as at 31.1.2009.
    Thank you anyway!

  • ITunes cannot get track names

    hi community,
although this subject is one often talked about, I have to reask it because my parameters are different from the other discussions.
Frist seen this error was when I transferred my music files per "home-sharing"-function between my MacbookPro (with CD-drive) and my iMac (without). After transferring while using >home-sharing > song-selection > "import" > importsettings as everytime (wave, 48kHz, Stereo, 16-bit) I tried to update the songnames and the artwork by "get album artwork" (worked fine) and "get track names" (error appeared).
So I was sad about not getting my music files working correctly on my iMac without buying an external drive, because "remote disk" is unable to share music and video cds/dvds.
So I thought about completing my music on my MBP (Snow Leopard) and transferring manually by copying and importing (that worked for some other files before).
I inserted the cd, started importing with settings above. After importing I saw that the tracks names saved on the cd weren't that optimal (correct yes, but the title included album and interpret, which I dont like: ALBUM: INTERPET - SONG".
So I searched the cd in iTunes (to know wether there are disc-info and disc-artwork to import), found it and tried to start getting track names. But the error appears.
Error-message (should be known): iTunes cannot get CD track names for files, which are not imported by iTunes. To get track names please import the CD with iTunes.
So I >imported< (not added) the CD directly about internal SuperDrive to my iTunes library. It got some file names from the CD, the album cover was taken from iTunes with "get album artwork". But getting tracknames ends up in this curious error.
Someone here, who finessed iTunes in this case? Deleting files completely and reimporting didn't make any difference. And changing all song names manuelly is actually no option because I have not enogh time yet.
Remeber the error appeared in this cases:
    - iMac 27" (late 2012), Mountain Lion 10.8.4, latest iTunes --> importing albums with home-sharing (with should be the same like importing a disc (iTunes asks for format, import-settings, etc.)
    - MacbookPro 15" (late 2010), Snoq Leopard 10.6.8, iTunes 11.0.4 --> importing CDs directly with internal superdrive. getting track names while CD is inserted worked, getting track names after ejecting cd to get iTunes-track-names got the error.
Maybe intereseting that this issue didn't appeared when I first set up my collection some month ago (in the meantime I cleaned up my MBP and know wanna make complete new collection). that time i think there was iTunes 9 or 10 actual ... but same discs etc. worked before. And on my iTunes on PC, where I made another music database for myself these month ago, everything worked perfectly fine including getting the track names ...
I'd be very glad if someone knows how to cope with this issue.

This is an error that just started appearing on my iMac 27.  Pain in the A**!!

  • Minor graphical issue in the Title/Artist/Album bar

Is anyone else having an issue with the name/artist/album bar whenever hiding/showing iTunes? It seems like the words are basically surrounded by a sort of blackness. I've got a screen shot so that anyone helping can know what I mean:
Does anyone know how to fix this? I've found a temporary solution of just changing the view to another view and back, but I want something less annoying.

I am getting the same thing in iTunes 7.0.1. I also have a screen grab avaialable. It seems to happen when iTunes is already running but is hidden and you un-hide the window by clicking the iTunes icon in the dock. If you move the columns while the blackness is visible, the columns affected by the move seem to clear themselves up while the other blackened column headings stay dark.

  • After itunes is closed i get warning saying data execution protection closed itunes

after I exit itunes I get a warning saying data execution protection cloesed itunes, this is after it has already shut down. I tried to exclude itunes from DEP but did not work. Thanks

I don't have a solution for you, but it seems that if you visit the iTunes Store at some point while iTunes is open then you don't get that error when it closes.

  • Why wont my itunes download album artwork

when i click 'get album artwork' it says 'artwork could not be found'. ive checked that all the info is correct but it still wont work! help?

iTunes supports two ways to associate cover art with albums:
Right-click on the album and select Get Album Artwork - if the same album is available in the iTunes Store (matched by artist + album title) the artwork will be downloaded automatically.  The 'artwork could not be found' indicates either that the album you're looking at is not available in the iTunes Store, or is there with artist/title info sufficiently different from what you have to make a match possible.
Otherwise, you can use artwork from other sources (images found on the 'net, your own scans of CD covers, etc.).  Right click on the album, select Get Info, then the Artwork tab.  It'll look like this (iTunes 12.1):
You can then add an image in any one of three ways:
Click the Add Artwork button, navigate to and select an image file you want to add, click Open.
Drag and drop an image file from Windows Explorer to the Artwork tab
Copy the image file to the Windows clipboard, either by right-click copy on the image file, right-click copy on the image in a web browser, or copy within any graphics program,  Then switch to iTunes and with the Artwork tab selected press Ctrl-V.  Prior to iTunes 12 you could also right-click > Paste in this scenario, but - either by intent or as the result of an unfixed bug - this has been missing from iTunes 12.0 and 12.1.
