Getting TV show DVDs on my ipod

I have a problem getting my tv show dvds on my ipod, i can get regular movies to play, but not multiple shows, it picks one show and only loads it instead of the whole disk? can anyone help? I use the Videora converter and dvd decrypter.

welcome to the board dude and congrats on gettin your ipod.
the answer is simple. Create a play list of your favorite tv show. For example: Put all your episode of "lost" or what ever show you watch into a list and load that list on the ipod and it'll continuiosly play the videos on that list till its finished.
hope that helps

  • Problem getting tv shows to go onto ipod.

I have a 5th gen ipod with video and have had for a while now.
Whenever I download a new episode for a tv show or buy a season pass then plug my ipod in they all get put onto my ipod.
The next time i plug in my ipod and it updates it. When i go to my tv shows once its completed its update (on my ipod) it shows random or none of that tv show.
this has become quite annoying and I am looking for advise on how to fix this problem.
    Help is appreciated =)

Do they all dissapear. Sync your ipod and go under the summary screen and see what you have checked under sync. See if you have sync all unwatched tv shows, or what else is checked other then sync all. If it is all unwatched tv shows, change it and hit apply. Hope this helps.

  • Faster way to get my own DVDs onto my iPod or iMovie

I've tried DVDxDV and checked out Handbrake. They are both very slow, about 5 hours for a 1 hour DVD. Does anyone know of software out there that will rip my DVDs (personal, no copyright) onto my Mac?

    Hi Kathy
For my own - made DVDs I use Roxio Toast™ to go back to StreamingDV
    or
Connect my miniDV Camera to a stand alone DVD-player and play + record
    with Camera.
    this I import into iMovie.
    Then Share to iPod.
This doesn't work with bought DVDs which are not legal to rip in most countries.

  • Getting a converted dvd onto my iPod

I've downloaded Handbrake and Total video converter for mac. Everytime I successfully convert the dvd to a MPEG4 file. It displays on my iTunes under movies. Unfortunately when I drag the movie to my iPod it doesn't want to add.
Is there some kind of setting I have to change on my iPod or iTunes?
    Thanks

iPods are pretty particular about which audio/video formats it will work with:
Here are the tech specs for the new touch:
H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second, Main Profile level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats
MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats
Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format
I haven't personally tried to do this with the new iTunes 10, so I can't guarantee that everything is the same. My experience before was with both Handbrake and MediaFork. I can tell you that I've been able to sync my DVD ripped movies that were in my library before iTunes 10, so it should be okay. I've never tried this with a BlueRay Disc.
    * if you don't have luck with Handbrake, you might want to give MediaFork a try!
make sure that you are matching audio/video format, data rate info, and resolution.
    I was using .mp4 (H.264) 29.97 / aac stereo 44.1 160kbps
I've had a lot of success with .mp4 (ffmpeg) as well.
set bitrate anywhere between 800kbps and 1500kbps.
800 will give you small files (but won't always look the best).
1500 will give you larger files (closer to iTunes movies), and will look much better.
Again, if Handbrake doesn't work for you, try MediaFork. Usually, one of them work well for a given DVD.
I've never used your "Total Video Converter", but I'm guessing it only checks the file extension (.mp4), and not the rest of the details that make/break the encoding/syncing process.
Usually, a video file's ability to sync with your iPod has more to do with its encode settings than with any iTunes/iPod preferences/settings.
I would try to re-rip the DVD/re-encode your file, and see if you have better luck.
Please post your results so that others may help you in the future.

  • How do I get a DVD to my Ipod?

I am trying to take a purchased DVD and put it on my Ipod Video. I was told at the store I purchased it at, that this was possible.
Hooked my DVD player up to a video bridge via Firewire so I could play it and "record" in my QT7 Pro. Well, I have since found out that the "record" feature isn't available in the windows version -- only mac. I am at a loss.
What format does the video have to be in to be able to pull it up and export it for the Ipod?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
    pc   Windows XP

Legally, you can't get a DVD onto your iPod because all movies are copyright protected. The only way to get that movie on your iPod is to purchase it on iTunes. Most movies on iTunes are around $10. And iTunes is unable to copy DVD movies because Apple knows that copying DVD movies is illegal. Although there is DVD copying software that you can use at your own risk, although such software does have its limitations because the copyright protection that's built-in to DVD's is getting better all the time. For example, if you use the program Handbreak to copy a movie that you rented from RedBox the copy you made will be choppy and out of order. Also, movie studios are working to get that software outlawed because they are losing money. And that software is why you can't return a DVD back to the store. So, you're stuck unless you don't mind buying movies and TV shows from iTunes. iTunes content is better than DVDs because you can copy it to hard drives and flash drives for backup and it won't get fingerprints and scratches on it like DVDs, which is why Apple is moving away from optical discs;for example iTunes and the Mac App Store.

  • Why can't I get my playlists to show up on my IPOD?  I have changed to Win 7

I can't seem to get my playlists to show up on my IPOD, only in ITUNES, why?  I just changed computers to win 7.

You will have to export the movie out of iMovie via the File ➙ Share ➙ File menu option:
button at the bottom of the  window and select 480p as the format.  Launch iDVD, select a theme and drag the movie file into the menu window being careful to avoid any drop zones that may be present.
Follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

  • How can i get my daughter's imessage on my iphone and still have it show up on her ipod as an unread message

I have my iPhone setup so I can also get all of the iMessages that my daughter sends and receives on her iPod. The problem is that if I read the message first then it doesn't show up as a new message on her iPod and therefore she doesn't know that a message was sent. Is there a way that I can get my daughter's iMessage on my iPhone and still have it show up on her iPod as an unread message? Any ideas from anyone will help. I can't figure it out

    HI,
I am not sure that I can really add anything to to this.
Apple used the phrase "sync" when saying what Messages on the Mac would do in regards to showing iMessages that were going to iOS devices.
It took to OS X 10.8.2 and iOS 6 to get as close as we have right now.
At best it looks like "Sync" means "Display on all Devices" and not much more.
The Mac version implies it will do more as there is a setting to notify people by return that you have read the iMessage.
The iOS devices have a similar "Send Receipts" item in the settings.
However actually reading an iMessage on one device seems to bear very little resemblance to anything that happens or can be seen on another device.
It seems for most people reading an  iMessage on one device shows nothing at all on another device (the presumption being it arrives all places at the same time)
Your post is the closest I have seen to someone suggesting that it can be different on different devices.
You also seem to be implying that there is almost a time difference it the time your iPhone gets the iMessage and the time the iPod touch gets it.
I have certainly seen the "silent arrival" of iMessages on both my iPhone (when my computer and Messages is On) and on the iPhone if the conversation started on the Mac.
The Mac end will show both "Sent" and Received sides as it "Syncs" the conversation and beeps the alert sound for the Received part and the iPhone will remain silent.
Even "talking it through" like this in this post I am not coming to any real conclusions about what to try.
I am not even sure what to suggest to test for things to look out for.

  • How to get dvd movies onto ipod with windows

Okay, I have finally figured out how to get movies from DVD to ipod for windows users, and it's free, with no watermarks. It involves a 2-program process. First go and download Videora Ipod Converter at http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/
Then download DVDFab Decrypter at http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm
Now after you have installed these onto your computer:
    1. Insert the DVD into your disc drive.
    2. Open DVDFab and open the DVD folder, video_ts or whatever it happens to be
    3. Select your target destination for the files to be saved
    4. Click start to begin copying the DVD.
    5. Once everything is done being saved open videora ipod converter
    6. Go to setup and select the one click profile which size of video you would like and the output of the files
    7. Go to convert and select new transcode video, find your video file and select open
    8. Wait for the file to be completed transcoding
    9. Open itunes and select file, add file to library, find the file(s) and select okay
    10. Most of you should know what to do form here

For anyone who wants to get up and running, these are the settings I use for Videora.
After days of experimenting, I settled on the settings below which seem to give a good balance between filesize and quality. There will be a bit of blockiness in the dark shadows but if it's too much, just increase the 'bitrate'. Experiment with a short video, but make sure the video you experiment with is very high quality or you won't know what is or isn't down to your settings.
Again, don't use h264. Only Quicktime Pro has h264 nailed. You may be able to get some things to work in h264 but more likely, you'll be watching a movie and it will suddenly stop, or your iPod's hard disk will start munching away to a black screen. mpeg-4 works fine in Videora, always. No problems.
    Video
    Mode: MPEG-4 > CBR
    Resolution: 320 x 240
Passes: One (two makes almost no difference except doubling the time)
    Bitrate: 384kbps
    Framerate: Input
    Audio
    Bitrate: 96kbps
    Channels: Stereo
    Sample Rate: Input
    Volume: 100%

  • Can't get video podcast to show up on my iPod

I've downloaded tv programs, even compressed some of my own video work and put it on my iPod....but for some reason, the 3 video podcasts I downloaded don't show up after my iPod updates. I searched in the music section as well as the video section under "podcasts," but nothing is there. Any suggestions? Any way to drag and drop the file onto iPod?

    Any suggestions?
Would suggest you check the format of the podcast. I downloaded one last week and found Sorenson video and QDesign audio tracks. If it is in what appears to be the correct format and parameter settings, then try converting it yourself and see it it syncs.
If the converted file syncs, then I would conclude that the author's workflow may not have included adequate "field testing." (Likely relying on past successes with a particular application and/or settings.) This happened to me this week when I downloaded an Apple product/technique tutorial. (Strangely enough, the only one in the series I had tourble with delt with podcasting.) If the files still refuses to sync, then I would suggest you recheck your iTunes preference settings
Any way to drag and drop the file onto iPod?
"Drag 'n Drop" is, i believe, a manual management function. However, I doubt it would bypass the iTunes files scan to check on whether or not the file is iPod compatible. (I assume you aren't talking about simple data storage here.) On the other hand, at least one individual has claimed to have "hacked" his way into the loading of video data rate restricted files. Unfortunately, I am not interested in wasting space in order to put "DVD quality" files on an iPod. (If I want DVD quality, I'll watch the DVD.)

  • I bought a HD TV show accidently instead of SD The show will not loador play on my ipod claSSIC. hOW DO i GET THE SHOW TO SYNC AND PLAY ON MY IPOD?

I bought a HD TV show accidently instead of SD, it will not load or play on my ipod classic. How do i get this reformatted or what to get the show on my ipod?

To prevent HD versions from being downloaded in the future head to the iTunes Store, click the Purchased link, and then select TV Shows and remove the tick mark next to Download HD when available.  You should be able to download the SD version now from under this same page.

  • I need to add my new ipod to itunes. it will only show the old dead ipod. i want to keep the music, but get rid of the info of the old dead ipod and add my new one and its info. please help.

    Hello,
I need to add my new ipod to itunes.
itunes will only show the old, dead ipod that my niece had given me secondhand.
I just got a new one and want to put in it's serial number, etc. but keep the music.
Please help, I've been going around in circles online for hours. I don't want to merely change the name of the old ipod, which is the only info I can find.
    Thanks.

"In addition, I would like to get all of the music files that are already on my ipod on to my new computer"
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
However it appears that no playlists or any other info such as ratings/last played etc will transfer.
If this is important to you, you may want to use other options.
There's Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod to iTunes.
Once the music from your iPod is in your new iTunes library, you can go about adding new music as you did previously.

I have iTunes 7, and I have a lot of episodes of The Office on it. When I plug in my video ipod, only a few episodes are loaded on, not all of them. Does anybody know what I should do to get all my episodes on my ipod?

Connect your iPod, then when the summary screen appears click on the TV shows tab.
You may have set your iPod to sync only unwatched episodes.

  • THE SIMPLEST WAY TO GET A DVD MOVIE IN IPOD VIDEO IN 2-3 HRS

I just got the Ipod video and got Quick time 7pro and everything but it is not the right software to play a DVD or get a dvd movie into ipod. So i tell you exactly what to do: go to carrydvd.com, find the version for use on symbian and psp. download it to test it or buy it to be able to convert a whole dvd movie. When you have the software ready you just put the DVD in, on the screen go where it says select video quality: PSP (MP4) Hi quality. go to screen size select 320X240 (PSP, PALM OR WINCE) PRESS PLAY BUTTON AND IT WILL COMPRESS. WHEN FINISH YOU GO TO ITUNES AND IN FILE GO TO ADD FILE TO LIBRARY, LOCATE THE MOVIE YOU JUST COMPRESSED AND ADD IT TO THE LIBRARY, THEN CONNECT THE IPOD AND JUST PUT THE MOVIE FROM THE LIBRARY TO THE IPOD AND IS READY. I JUST GOT IN MY IPOD TROY WITH THE QUALITY OF A BOUGHT VIDEO OF ITUNES MUSIC STORE.
