Getting unwanted messages (VZWNMN:5) from Verizon and Verizon is not able to stop them.

I am getting messages from 6250 number and the content is VZWNMN:5 (OR) VZWNMN:11 (OR) VZWNMN:37. In a day I get around 25 messages.I have reported the issue on Jan 21st, 2012 and talked to atleast 7 customer reps, 5 tech support, 3 engineers & 4 managers. Spent atleast 10 - 12 hours on the phone with Verizon and still the case is still open.
Since Customer support is not able to resolve the issue, they opened a ticket with Engineering team ten days back. So called after few days to check the status and the ticket was closed with status as "Resolved". But it was not so they reopened the ticket again and it's been 6 days now. The person who opened the ticket said will follow up with me on last Saturday. But no answer from him so emailed him on Monday and the response received was that he will call on Tuesday. Till now no answer. I am totally frustated with service and no where to go. Don't know whom to contact.
Really appreciate if someone can suggest how to handle this situation.

Hello.. I'm not sure how much help I will be since I don't have a Droid, BUT.. I experienced this very same issue a while back. And had the same run around with VZW customer support.. FINALLY.. i answered back to one of the text messages, it was another lady trying to reach her relative with the same first name as mine. After speaking with her for a while, I came to a conclusion these messages all started after I signed up for a option under the MY VERIZON (my account). The option was the place where you can send and receive text messages online from your MY VERIZON profile. Some how my name and number were being published into some sort of data base thing.. I had also received a premium text message that cost me $10 (im on prepaid, but had extra money in my account for ringtones & ringback tones, ect). After numerous calls to customer service about the continued text messages, they put a block on my account for receiving text messages, also there is a place in the MY VERIZON profile where the text messaging is done at to block up to, i think, 15 numbers. Well I filled every slot up with the numbers that were texting me, then started receiving probably another 50 more texts a day. It was sooo annoying!!! Then after customer service tried everything they could think of to stop the texts from continuing, I ended up having to change my phone number, something I did NOT want to do.. but it stopped the problem and it has not happened again... BUT i didn't sign up for that online text messaging option on MY VERIZON account this time.

    Sync works the same way it always has, connect the device, select the content desired to sync and sync.
    All the media should be in iTunes already, iDevices are not and have never been backup devices.
    If this is a new computer, move the content from the old computer to the new computer.

    FCP doesn't like mpeg2 transport streams. You might give ClipWrap a chance to do the conversion. They have a free trial. If it works, the full version is something like $50.

  • When I try to play youtube video I get the message of blocked plug-in, and I can not play video using Safari. (Youtube works fine with google chrome) I tried installing flash player HTML5 etc... but still no difference.

    I just installed OSX Mountian Lion, and ever since then I can not play youtube video's. I get the message of 'Blocked Plug-in' in the youtube screen. I have tried installing Adobe Flash Player. HTML 5, also tried enabling/disabling java, but nothing worked out. Is there any way I can play youtbe vieos on Safar. (It works fine with Google Chrmoe, only safari has problem)

    If you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. Safari > Preferences > Extensions
    It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
    Try uninstalling the currently installled Flash plugin (required for most YouTube content) then reinstall new >  Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
    From your Safari menu bar top of your screen click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
    Select:  Show Develop menu in menu bar
    Now from the menu bar click Develop > Empty Caches

    Flash is not supported on the iPad - and as Adobe have never managed to make a version of their flash player that works on iOS devices, and they have recently announced that they are stopping development on all mobile versions of it, it probably never will be
    Browser apps such as Skyfire, iSwifter, Puffin and Photon 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites. Also some websites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store.

Later I did get them into streamed areas, but they did not get any ways to make an album.     We are suffering very similar issues when communicating from my iphone to a friend who has both iphone and iPad enabled.
    As long as I reply to an existing text chain, then it is visible on the target iphone.  If I SMS the phone number, it gets routed to the IPAD!!   And NO, I should not have to disable imessage when I want to send an SMS!!

    I finally got a representative that was able to help me, she had me go to Get Info, by right clicking iMovie from the finder, and I had to click on Sharing & Permissions>Everyone>Read & Write

    the apps will not be deleted if the itunes is authorised for the apple id from which you downloaded the apps.
    for the songs if you have downloaded it from a store other than itunes an app "TuneAid" will help you. download the full version then you can copy all the songs on the ipad to ur itunes library

    Something else you can try.
    In Finder hold down the option/alt key while selecting the Go menu item. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
    Restart and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop. 
    If the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer ones.
    If you want to make your user library permanently visible, run the below command in Applications/Terminal.
    chflags nohidden ~/Library/
    You will need to do that after any updates.

    This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

    Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects. 
    Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then copy it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands. 
    Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply. 
    Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways: 
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.) 
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens. 
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid. 
    When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign. 
    Step 1 
    Triple-click the line of text below on this page to select it:

    Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step. 
    Step 3
    { launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.apple|org\.(x|openbsd)/{print $3}'; crontab -l 2> /dev/null; } | open -f -a TextEdit 
    Step 4

    Remember, steps 1-5 are all copy-and-paste — no typing, except your password. Also remember to post the output. 
    You can then quit Terminal.
