Getting video start from 0.00 position issue

hi folks,
i am having this 80gb ipod and offlate whats bugging me is that eg. i got a song which is 5 mins and yesterday i abruptly stopped at say 3.47 mins, when i try to watch that video again, it starts from 3.47 instance... is there any kind of setting wherein the video starts from 0.00 position... i tried in options / settings etc..but couldnt find any option... has anyone else too find this difficulty ?

Backing up an iOS device will copy some data to a backup file within iTunes, but this excludes all media. You can also transfer iTunes Store purchases from the iDevice to iTunes but, without using a third-party tool, nothing else. As long as you do not sync the iPod with your new library, the media that's on it will remain ... for as long as it keeps functioning, is not lost, stolen, eaten by the dog, ...
You may also have an option to recover your previous library from your old laptop; as long as its hard drive isn't fried, a computer repair store or technician may be able to extract the drive, mount it in an external enclosure, and copy your data to another PC. Whatever you choose, there is no real alternative to having all your media on your computer, managed by iTunes, and regularly backed up to another device/location.

You can't edit a video out of iTunes.
You would have to edit the video from the original film, either on your computer, or iPhone.

Here it is step by step.
STEP 1: Connect you device to your windows pc.
STEP 2: Open up "computer" on your pc, you should see three options. (1. Hard Disk Drives) (2. Devices With Removable Storage) (3. Portable Devices)
STEP 3: Under "Portable Devices" click your's.
STEP 3: Click "Internal Storage."
STEP 4: Click the "DCIM" floder.
STEP 5: Click the next folder after "DCIM"
STEP 6: Right click on the IMG or VID that you want to be on your pc.
STEP 7: Click copy.
STEP 8: Go to your video folder or whereever you want the video.

First Play at Preview ok, but not working correctly when Video started from DVD

I created a Project with Encore CS5.1. When i test via the "preview" button (disc symbol) everything works fine.
When i export the Project to a DVD the Video starts directly with the Main Menue although i expect starting with the intro clip. As i said with encore preview everything works fine.
Has anybody an idea how to solve this issue?

I just created a new project with only the "Vorspann - Trailer" and the Main Menue. All other links are not created yet.
With the preview everything is ok but if i create an image the video starts directly with the Main Menue.

Assuming the video files are in the correct format for iPod, all you need to do is add them to your iTunes library then sync the iPod. Under the file menu in iTunes is an option the add a file or folder to the library.

QT does not support VOB (muxed MPEG-2 DVD content) files natively. Even with the MPEG-2 component installed, it will not support muxed AC3 audio. The normal approach here is to use an MPEG-based, third party application to extract/convert the VOB content to a more friendly QT compatible compression format. For your purposes, it sounds as if the free HandBrake application may be what you are looking for until you gain more experience in working with these file formats.

Get sequence start from Transmit API

I'm using the Transmit API to get the timecode of the sequence as it plays. I'm using the inTime and working out the number of seconds from the ticks.
This gets the number of seconds from the start, which is fine if the sequence begins at 00:00:00:00, but if it begins at 01:00:00:00 or some other value then all of the timecode values are wrong. I could not figure out a way of getting the sequence start position - am I correct in assuming that such a function doesn't exist?

For automation purposes you may want to also implement reading any XMP sidecar file that exists. That has the timecode of the capture in it.
- a good example is to export H.264 in AME/PPro. the resulting xmp/xmpses file has the xmp fields of interest. Open it with WordPad (coz that understands Unicode) and you'll see a XMP:RDP packet like this:

Getting video in from a mini dvd

Any idea how I can get the video from my mini-dvd camera into my i-mac without buying a new external dvd hard drive ? And what program would I edit it with when Ido get it in---imovie or what?
Help would be appreciated.

You didn't say which video camera you have so I assume there's no firewire port on it to connect it to your iMac.
A couple of other things come to mind that you can do:
1. Do you know someone with a drive that supports mini DVD's and copy them to a standard size DVD?
2. Call some camera centers in your area one of them will be able to copy from mini to standard size DVD for you!
Yes importing your video's to iMovie HD would be a good place to start!

I cannot get an answer from Verizon on this issue

My data usage has been rather annoying. it jumps from 0.90gb to 2.90gb and back. And I keep getting these text messages whenever the usage goes over 2gb. The real usage is 0.90gb. I tried asking verizon CS via phone and email through My Verizon but couldn't get a response. I have attached a screen shot of my data use. Has anyone had this issue? And have you had any success talking to Verizon? Thanks

Verizon finally responded. Here is what they have to say:
"We’ve actually received quite a few reports of similar issues occurring for other customer accounts recently. I investigated the issue further and was able to find that a Trouble Ticket was issued to resolve an issue where customers have been receiving inaccurate usage reporting messages on September 27th.
An update has been implemented to resolve this issue that takes place on the billing cycle date for each affected customer account. In this case, you should notice the notifications will no longer be coming to your phone on or shortly after October 20th.
If you continue to receive inaccurate usage alerts on your phone after October 20th, please get back in touch with us right away and we’ll see what additional steps may be required to resolve this issue, but I trust that the inaccurate reports will stop coming to you momentarily."

Although the author might have the original video, iBA's video optimizer has likely changed it and not always for the better. Investigating this kind of issue requires being able to unzip the *.ibooks file (I use "The Unarchiver" which does this well) in order to understand what the video optimizer has done. Very often, one will find an unnecessary increase in bit rate and consequent increase in file size.

I can't get video purchased from iTunes to play on iTunes

So, I upgraded to iTunes 6 and I installed the upgrade Quicktime 7.0.3 that came with the upgraded iTunes. I have all the current XP Pro updates installed, I have all the memory, videocards, etc etc that are in the system requirements for iTunes 6.
I go to the music store to see how this new and snazzy video purchasing works and I bought a music video of a band I like. iTunes Music Store takes my money, iTunes downloads the video and it's in my library. Cool.
I then select the video and a picture shows up in the bottom left hand corner and I click play and sit back to enjoy this new feature.
Nothing happens. nada, zip, zero. It just doesn't play. New sound, no video, nothing. I try it again. I go to the help menu the only thing they say about problems is to give me a link to a systems requirement list.
I open up Quicktime since the help file also says I can play my purchased video on either iTunes or Quicktime. I try to open the file and I get:
Error - 36: an I/O error occured
I check everything I can think of and still nothing.
I drop iTunes Support and they send me an email back 4 days later that says, sorry, we can't help with technical problems so deal with it (but I can't find a single article about this problem on the website) or call our help line and probably pay a fee.
I'm at a real loss as to what to do. I bought this video (granted it was only a couple of dollars, but still) and can't play it. Do any of the wonderful people out there have any ideas? I'm just glad I didn't buy more than this one video.

I know exactly how you feel. I bought a video and haven't been able to watch it either. Imagine all the "couple of bucks" here and there that Apple gets to keep.
Especially when they is no one here to answer questions and we need to trackdown someone. The FAQ's are useless, like every other companies FAQ. Nothing has anything to do with real problems.

How can I get video out from my iPhone 5?

With my iPhone 4, I was able to watch videos on the exercise machines at my gym that were equipped with 30-pin connectors. They piped the video to their display screens, and the audio to a jack for my earpods to plug into. Now that I have upgraded to an iPhone 5, there is no way to directly connect to these machines (they don't have the new "Lightning" connectors). So I bought a Lightning-to30-Pin adaptor at my Apple Store, and sadly learned that it doesn't pass through video, only audio. This is a huge step backwards for me. What is a reasonable solution for this?
