Getting video to repeat

I have marked "Loop Playback" with my cursor at the end of my sequence. The sequence replays after reaching the end while in FCP but when I get it on a DVD, it does not repeat. What must I do?

Take a look at the manual.
It's difficult to explain here without being able to post screen grabs. End Jump will show up in the top of the inspector panel, which is usually the lower right panel. I do this by first displaying Outline View in the upper left panel, and then clicking on the track I want. You specify the End Jump by clicking on it. It permits you to select a menu, button, track, chapter, etc. When the video plays to the end it will automatically jump to the point you've specified.

  • Audio doesn't match video because repeated half way through

    Hi guys,
I am currently editing videos from my Canon SLR with Adobe Premiere Elements (Windows).
In the same project, I have only uploaded videos taken the same day with the same equipment. I have been able to process them all normally apart from one. For some reason, when I play this file with a basic video player, everything works fine but when I import it in the Adobe software and play it either through the small window or in the timeline, I have the same problem:
Everything works fine (audio and video in sync), until it reaches a specific point (totally random as far as I can tell) when the video keeps going but suddenly the sound repeats itself from the beginning of the file (and the audio which would correspond to the video is replaced by it). For you to understand better the problem:
    Video:   ABCDEF
    Audio:   ABCABC
I have tried opening it in a different project and somehow it happens exactly at the same point.
I am totally clueless of what it comes from and getting really frustrated!
    Any idea?
    Cheers
    Babs

Hello, I'm new to using forums like this.  Is it appropriate for me to post that I'm having the same issue?  Also sounds similar to Audio doesn't match video because repeated half way through as well.
    My situation is:
    Win7 64-bit, i7 920, 2.67GHz, 8GB RAM
Multiple Nikon D7000 video clips I've taken play back fine except for the following clip.  In Windows Media Viewer, I have no problem, but in PE10, in the timeline editor, this clip repeats the audio from the beginning starting about 6 minutes into the video.  I have Quicktime version 7.7.5 installed which I noticed was mentioned as a possible culprit in the other thread.
I've been using my camera primarily for stills, but decided to have my mom tell her story before she wasn't able to.  I'm so frustrated with this problem because I know the audio is just fine since I can play it back synchronized throughout the entire clip in WMV.  I've tried cleaning out PE caches as best I can figure them out and created new projects without any better luck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I'm open to getting a new version of PE or another program if I could believe that I wouldn't run into this issue again.  This seems like such a vanilla problem since all my other clips seem to be fine and this one does too on WMV.
Thanks for any help you can provide.  I don't really know where else to go to figure this out.
    Joel

  • Sony DCR-DVD505 Handycam: Unable to get video clips, audio

Evaluating Adobe Premier.  Hopefully helpful for other Sony DCR-DVD505 users.
    Objectives:
    1) Get videos from Sony DCR-DVD505 handycam into Premier Elements
    2) Drag and drop various clips into Sceneline
    3) Insert menu markers
    4) Burn DVD
Stuck in Step 1, getting video from handycam, unable to get video clips (with audio)
    First Try: NO AUDIO.
The Sony DCR-DVD505 burns a mini-DVD (1.4 GB) while recording.  After "finalizing" the disk, the media may be imported into the computer.  Streaming was supported by Windows XP driver but is no longer supported in Windows Vista.   In fact, Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2) does not even recognize the camera as a DVD drive!  So downgraded to Vista SP1 and used the Sony Picture Motion Browser to import media into computer as MPG files.  Each MPG file is a clip (corresponding exactly to camera record on-off sequence while shooting).  Then opened up Adobe Premier Elements 8.  Used get media to import all the MPG clips into "Organize".  Dragged and dropped various clips...inserted a menu or two and...burned the DVD.  PROBLEM: VIDEO OK, BUT NO AUDIO(?!).  The MPG files on computer play fine (with audio) inside Windows Media Players.  Read all sorts of nonsense about why Adobe Premier (probably old versions) cannot work with "low-quality/compressed" MPG and needs to be a particular type AVI soo....
    Second Try: Capture VOB directly
Forget the camera.  Insert the mini-DVD directly into computer DVD drive, create a new project and followed directions from  "Lowdown on VOB" http://forums.adobe.com/message/2117743 and "tools to convert to DVI" http://forums.adobe.com/thread/415317.  I loaded the VOB directly and dropped them into  Timeline as advised by the second post (only hitch being the first VOB pertaining to the DVD menu is not recognized and is neither needed).
However, File > Export is always GREYED out (unusable).  And the status at bottom right seems to be looping on "Background Rendering".  DO I WAIT?  In any case, the whole video is showing up as a single continuous stream and what I want are the clips from the camera?!
Then I tried Prism (again as per the second forum post mentioned above).  It simply did something to process 30 minutes of video and crashed in the end without explanation - saying there was an error in conversion.
Is this AVI conversion even a good idea?  How would I get my clips back??
Bottomline.  My mini-DVD and imported MPGs plays fine in Windows Media Player.  However unable to extract the camera clips (with audio).

Dawg, I have the Sony DCR-DVD305, and have been using it successfully for quite a while with PE7, with few issues, once I had a workflow nailed down.
I believe the 505 is basically the same camera, with some additional features.
This workflow worked for me in the past so I'll pass that along:
Sony Browser to PC as Mpeg.
Mpeg to Windows Movie Maker, output to DV-AVI, taking default settings.
    DV-AVI imported into PE7.
This should also work for PE8.
Upon getting Cyberlinks PowerDirector v7, my new workflow changed to this:
I take the min-DVD directly from camcorder to my PC, and capture the disk via Power Director.
PD will convert the VOB's directly to DV-AVI Type 2 on one pass.
    I then load this DV-AVI into PE7.
(PD v7 was pre-installed on my new PC from HP, or it can be purchased from Cyberlink).
    Other options to try:
Copy the VOB's directly from the mini-DVD to your PC and use Prism to convert these to AVI.
Or load the VOB or Mpeg into PE, then use that to convert to AVI.
(Export to DV-AVI with PE8 is done with SHARE/PC, not Export under the File Menu, which is greyed out).
I've had many issues trying to work with Mpeg's and VOB's when loaded directly to PE with limited success.
So if you can get it converted successfully to AVI outside of PE, I've found this to be a better approach.
Post results, if any of this works for you...
Note: One other thing, if you are working directly with VOB's to PE, especially multiple VOB's from a single DVD, you can encounter out-of-sync issues between video and audio. If this occurs, review this link from Muvipix:

Applies to iChat 2.x, iChat 3.x and iChat 4.x to any version of AIM on a PC before AIM 6.1
This piece is designed for those trying to connect Mac to PC for Video and Audio chats. Any iChat version Panther and up.
    Glossary For This FAQ
This bit is designed for clarity.
Video is the sending and /or recieving of pictures and sound.
Audio is the sending and or receiving of sound only.
One-Way is the ablity to start either an Audio or Video chat from one end to a receipient who can not match your capabilities (or Vice Versa)
    What is needed
    At the Mac end
A Mac running OS 10.3.x and iChat AV ver 2.1 or 10.4 plus iChat 3 or Leopard and iChat 4
A DSL/Cable/Fibre (Broadband) connection of at least an up link speed of 256kbs.
An AIM , @mac.com or MobileMe (@me.com) account name.
(hosting Multiple person Mac to Mac AV chats requires higher specs and broadband uplink speed).
    At the PC end
1 PC running windows XP (home or Pro). THIS A MUST
The AIM Standalone Application, currently at ver. 5.9 at this link. AIM (the Site) now call this version Classic and it cannot be Installed On Vista
Note: there is also Trillian which has a Pro version for $25 that can also Video and Audio chat. The Basic version just Texts and Audio Chats (AIM does not Audio chat)
Some need the aimrtc12.exe file from Here Mostly Earlier than XP or Pre Service Pack 2 XP versions of Windows
Note: It has been noted that this file is now apparently included in Windows XP after Service Pack 2 and above.
An AIM account/screen name (AOL or Netscape count as well)
Service Pack 2 info. This info will allow the PC user to enable AIM thorough the XP Firewall. The Windows Firewall did not exist as such before this
    Between both of you.
At least one camera (Mac end)
A sound input device (the camera, if it has one is ok)
Your Buddies screen/account name in each others Buddy Lists
    Other tweaks
For some people, using AIM on a PC, may also have to make sure their preferences (properties) are set in the AIM Buddy list, for their camera and /or Mic. (Tuning at Message 570)
This is an icon button lower right on the Buddy List marked "Prefs" (AIM 5.5). This leads to the Preferences. Drop down the list until you read Live Video. Click on this. In the new window that opens click the button that says Tuning Video and Audio. Follow the instructions in the wizard that opens up. Access in AIM 5.9 for this is in the My AIM menu at the top of the Buddy list and then Options
    To Start
You should now be able to chat to each other.
If each of you has a camera it can be full Video , as described in the Glossary at the top.
To start from the Mac end, select (highlight) your Buddy with one click. His camera icon should be dark. Click on the icon near his name or the one at the bottom of the Buddy List. (You do not have to start a text chat).
To start from the PC end you need to start a text chat, then select the Video icon at the bottom of the chat window.
If one of you has a camera and the other has a Mic then you will be able to chat One Way but have sound will be both ways.
To start this type of chat from the Mac end you will have to go to the menu item "Buddies" and drop down to the item "Invite to One Way Video Chat"
To start this from a PC follow the directions in the pargraph above. You may need to change the tab to the incoming Video at the back of the two to see the Video. These tabs are added when the Video chat starts and the front one normally states you do not have a camera and shows a connection to buy one.
It is also possible to chat One Way if the other person does not have a Mic: replies will have to be typed in a Text chat.
No Camera and No Mic will cause iChat to End the chat with "No Data Received for 10 Secs"
    Summary
For any sort of sound to a PC using AIM, (Talk in PC or Audio in iChat) the Mac will need a camera. The other person can have a Mic and then live chats with sound both ways and Pictures (Video) the other.
NOTE: At This Time It Is NOT Possible to Audio (sound only) between Mac & PC with AIM & iChat
Trillian Basic can Audio. Trillian Pro can Video and has a bigger picture and can do Full Screen.
Another explanation of the set up can be found Here about AIM 5.5 but is transferable.

After soak test update, I get error messages repeatedly. The majority are "unfortunately, messaging has stopped", but you can replace messaging with "android os", or any other process, as it happens with more than just messaging. I have had numerous people call and ask why I didn't reply to their texts...and I look, but have not received any new texts. YES, I have restarted phone. I have cleared data as well as cache on all apps. I have downloaded the vzw messaging app, which seems silly, since it happens with several different processes and apps, but all to no avail. I am missing texts from my employer, from my family. This did happen, but rarely, before this "soak test". It is now Kitkat version 19.6.3.obake_verizon.en.US. THIS is when I started having problems...like 50 times a day kind of problems! I have seen hundreds of posts all over the internet over the past 3 days. Does no one know how to fix this??? Shouldn't there be a way to revert phone to a pre-update state? and no, hard reset did NOT work!!!! I have been with verizon for well over 15 years, but I have not upgraded my lines and will not in July either. This is ridiculous. It's not like my games aren't working, it is my messaging and "android os"...my lifeline at work!

    kristinaf333,
Oh no, I am sorry to hear your messages are not working since the software update. I greatlly appreciate doing all that troubleshooting to try and get the messaging application back in business. I know how much I rely on my messages so I can understand the urgency to get this resolved. Have you had a resolution ticket opened since you started experiencing issues with your messages? Does this happen with all contacts or just some? Please provide additional information to ensure we get to the bottom of this for you.

Backing up an iOS device will copy some data to a backup file within iTunes, but this excludes all media.  You can also transfer iTunes Store purchases from the iDevice to iTunes but, without using a third-party tool, nothing else.  As long as you do not sync the iPod with your new library, the media that's on it will remain ... for as long as it keeps functioning, is not lost, stolen, eaten by the dog, ...
You may also have an option to recover your previous library from your old laptop; as long as its hard drive isn't fried, a computer repair store or technician may be able to extract the drive, mount it in an external enclosure, and copy your data to another PC.  Whatever you choose, there is no real alternative to having all your media on your computer, managed by iTunes, and regularly backed up to another device/location.

  • How can I get video out to my TV from my old G4 AGP 450mHz?

    Hi all,
just wondering if anyone has any idea how to get video out from my old G4 tower? It's an AGP model (1st gen), 450mHz. All I've found so far is a link to very expensive Radeon cards, well beyond what I need, which is:
    - S-video or even RCA out so I can see my computer on a TV screen
    - Solution for under or around $50
That's pretty much it. I can't seem to find a VGA to S-Video adapter anywhere out there - does it exist? I don't have DVI on this machine either.
I've Googled this all over, and I saw plenty of stuff to get a Mac Mini out with a DVI adapter, but this obviously won't work (no DVI)
    Any ideas?
    thanks

Hmm... not a bad idea! I even checked and apparently an ATI Radeon 7000 supports video-out. Gonna see if I can get one for cheap - maybe on ebay. This will work fine with Panther or Tiger?
I've even considered buying a PC version of a Radeon card and flashing it to work with my G4, but that is very sketchy, even for me.
Will let you know how this turns out. Any other ideas are welcome

  • STILL can't get Videos into 5G iPod , Ready to throw it out the window

I'm ready to throw this iPod out the window , I spent all day yesterday over 10 hours , trying to get videos onto my iPod , my iPod software and iTunes are up tp date , first I just drag and dropped them as MPEG no luck iTunes recognized and played them but wouldn't let me drag and drop them to the iPod then I used iSquint , it converted them to MPEG 4 , they transferd into iTunes and played but not the iPod I got an error that they weren't transferable and not recognized by the iPod .
I called Appe this morning and they were no help since I didn't get the Vid's from the appple store and since you only get one free service call ,and wouldn't tell me the format for the videos I didn't want to waste it . They suggested I buy Quicktime Pro .
Then I tried , Movies For My iPod . I used the transfer for iPod option , it converted them to .mp4.m4v . I drag and dropped them directly to the iPod no luck , they're there but wont play or show up in the iPod then I opened up iTunes and drag and droppped them into iTunes again played in iTunes not transfered to the iPod although it said it was updating .
Then ,I tried the custom settings file format MP4 , video format , MPEG-4 Improved , Image Size 320 X 240 QVGA , again I tried to drag and drop them onto the iPod still not there , now I tried to drag and drop unto iTunes , again they're there and play but won't show up on the iPod . I've pretty much had it .
In the Movies For MY iPod they're are some custom settings . File Format MP4(ISMA) In the Video there is an MPEG-4 Improved setting with a bit rate of 256 kbits/sec Image size 320x 240 QVGA frame rate 30 plus alot of other settings which I have no idea what they are .
Today I have 6 hours of frustration into this still no luck . I'm really disappointed with Apple ,I started out with the first iMac a Bondi Blue and have been working my way up , I have an iBook , an iMac Graphite , a G4 iMac a 15G 3G iPod now the 5G iPod . Apple should have included Quick Time pro in the G5 , and only one support call, come on , even Dell gives you a year of support .
And to top it all off the Black is beautiful but scratches easily , I'm a chef , my nails very short and allready it's scratched to bits by the wheel, I keep it in a case when I'm playing it , you can hardly touch it . I'm not very happy with Apple and this iPod , they rushed it out for the holiday , so if your in the jacksonville Florida area look for a flying iPod .

Lets run down a list of possibilities:
    1) You are using iTunes 6 here, correct?
    2) You did not say whether or not you are running in auto-sync, manual management, or "Enable Disk" mode. If you left it in the default mode as installed (auto-sync), then after dropping your movies into iTunes (or adding them to the Library), simply connect your iPod and allow it to auto-sync (mirror) the current contents of iTunes. (You can also try "Update iPod" option under the File menu, but I have found it unreliable -- possibly owing to "sleeping" iPod.)
    3) Not sure if your reference to "dropping the movie on the iPod" is a reference to the iPod desk icon in manua/disk enabled mode or the iPod "Source" reference/associaed contents list in iTunes. Could you clarify where you are attempting to "drag 'n drop" and/or the selected sync mode of operation in your iPod Preferences.
    4) As to conversion to iPod compatible formats, recommend you stick with MoviesForMyPod and/or iSquint if you are restricted to QT Pro 6 and not sure what settings to use for MPEG4 preset collection/QuickTime Movie full manual mode.

  • Can't get video chat to work outside of LAN...

    Hello,
I can't get video chat to work.
All computers, LAN and WAN are running the latest iChat under 10.4 (including latest updates).
Within our LAN, via Bonjour, everything is fine.
I'm now trying to set up an offsite Intel iMac (10.4) and I can't connect via video chat with them.
I've had this problem in the past and eventually gave up (so much for "it just works" - I've spent the last 10+ years dealing with Macs and Mac-based networking, I can't imagine "my dad" figuring this all out). Trying again with fingers crossed...?
If someone could help, it'd be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Kristin.
The studio router/firewall is a SonicWall TZ 170 Standard.
This router has a static IP.
All suggested ports on the SonicWall are set up correctly to allow in/out from our LAN.
All computers on the LAN have static IP addresses.
Quicktime streaming settings set as suggested.
OS X Firewall on all computers = OFF.
No iChat add-ons on any computers.
    Internet connection speed = 7404 kb/s
    The offside router/firewall is a LinkSys WRT54G
This router does not have a static IP.
DMZ is ON and set to the only computer connected to it.
Computer has a static IP address.
Quicktime streaming settings set as suggested.
OS X Firewall on all computers = OFF.
    No iChat add-ons on computer.
    Internet connection speed = 5116 kb/s
If any more information is required to help you help me, just let me know!

Does the TZ170 have UPnP or Port Triggering then ?
I can not see that it does here
Opening the ports in the manner listed on that link will only allow one computer (IP) to use the open ports.
The Linksys is router and you have not mentioned what the modem is doing at that end.
Why not use UPnP here ? The Linksys does it (on the Administration page)
Most likely this needs the Respond to Anonymous Pings checked on the Security page.

See bottom section on AIM 6.5 and 6.8 on XP and Vista.
This piece is designed for those trying to connect Mac to PC for Video and Audio chats. Any iChat version Panther and up.
    Glossary For This FAQ
This bit is designed for clarity.
Video is the sending and /or receiving of pictures and sound.
Audio is the sending and or receiving of sound only.
One-Way is the ability to start either an Audio or Video chat from one end to a recipient who can not match your capabilities (or Vice Versa)
An AIM account/screen name (AOL or Netscape count as well)
Service Pack 2 info. This info will allow the PC user to enable AIM thorough the XP Firewall. The Windows Firewall did not exist as such before this.
    Between both of you.
At least one camera (Mac end works better)
If one of you has a camera and the other has a Mic then you will be able to video chat One Way but sound will be both ways.
To start this type of chat from the Mac end you will have to go to the menu item "Buddies" and drop down to the item "Invite to One Way Video Chat"
To start this from a PC follow the directions in the paragraph above.
    Summary
PC end gets AIM 5.9 or Trillian Pro.
The PC end allows the app through the XP Firewall.
AIM 5.9 needs "Tuning" to Camera and Mic.
For any sort of sound to a PC using AIM, (Talk in PC or Audio in iChat) the Mac will need a camera. The other person can have a Mic and then live chats with sound both ways and Pictures (Video) One-Way.
NOTE: At This Time It Is NOT Possible to Audio (sound only) between Mac & PC with AIM & iChat
Trillian Basic can Audio. Trillian Pro can Video and has a bigger picture and can do Full Screen.
Another explanation of the set up can be found Here about AIM 5.5 but is transferable to AIM 5.9.

AIM have an FAQ page about this
Below the pics is this quote
What do I need to use Real-Time IM?
You and your buddy need to be using AIM® 6.8 or higher to use Real-Time IM. Unfortunately, Real-Time IM does not yet work with older AIM clients, iChat®, or AIM® for Mac®.

  • This is showing up on videos I try to view. I have latest update. It is a box that displays over video that says, get video URL, get embed code, etc. how do I correct it?

A Box has just started showing up that has the following.
    get video url
get video URL at current time
    Get embed code
    report playback issue
    get debug info
    stats for nerds
    about the HTML.5 player
this is on every video on face book. How to fix?

    I had the same issue.
I had a youtube downloader app that had a plug-in installed on my Home Safari. I deleted that app. and the plugin. Not sure if that was the culprit, but I figured I'd try.Thought maybe some bug crossed over when syncing the two safaris.
Anyway, I ended up unlinking my Mobile Safari to my Home Safari (iPad; iCloud/Safari/OFF)
A prompt will come up asking what you want to do with previously synced data: Delete from My iPad (don't worry, you'll get it back)
    Your bookmarks should disappear.
Reset HOME Safari : Safari/Reset Safari (everything checkmarked)
Turn ON the Mobile Safari again (if you want to relink to the Home version) or keep off (and rebuild it from scratch on iPad alone)
Personally, I turned it on, got my bookmarks back then turned it off and pressed Keep on my iPad.
Now the two aren't linked and I have the bulk of my bookmarks back.
There might be variations of this solution so play around with the process and be sure to refresh your Mobile Safari browser on a video clip to see if it takes.

  • Can't get videos on iPod

I got the iPod with video and when I first started using it, any videos in my library automatically would sync to my ipod. Well, I deleted a few videos from my library, thinking that when I plug in the iPod it would delete those few videos from the ipod. What I found is now that I have NO videos on my ipod although there are several in the library, and the Video and Photos tab in iPod preferences AREN'T THERE ANYMORE!!! I can't change any preferences in iTunes that have to do with video, and I don't know how to get the video functionality back, and get videos on my iPod! Any suggestions would be great...

I just wanted to let everyone know I found a solution. I could never reset my iPod with the iPod software on my main computer (with my library on it). I moved the iPod to a different computer and ran the restore function through the iPod software. It erased everything, and set it back to factory settings. Now, when I plugged it back into my main computer, iTunes worked correctly! I'm not sure what happened in the first place, but this is my only suggestion if anyone else runs into this problem. It seems to be a problem with iPod rather than iTunes
