Getting videos (with sound) on my iPod?

I just got a iPod Video, but I had previously downloaded videos from the internet. I added the videos onto iTunes with no problems, but syncing it to my iPod is another story. Itunes had stated that I had to convert the video files in order to put them on my iPod, but when I did that and played it back in iTunes and on my iPod there was no sound! Can anyone help me?

I had the exact same problem. I used Videora off the internet. It's free and it converts all video files to a format that itunes and ipod recognizes. Try the following link.

Can I use quicktime for recording streaming videos with sound? If not which Apple software can do it?
    Bye Christof

You can use Quicktime to record streaming video +with it's audio+ by using a very simple trick. Using the same cable you connect your iPod/iPhone to your car's stereo system, connect your Mac's Audio OUT to its MIKE IN jack. I used FILE / OPEN URL to select the video stream source, then selected FILE / NEW SCREEN RECORDING. In the resulting 'Screen Recording' dialog box, I set the AUDIO slider all the way to the right, and under the arrow to the right, selected "Built-in Input Line In" for the microphone. I then used the appropriate controls to play the stream and record it. The resultant file was very acceptable. Good luck.

  • I do I import a video with sound from a Sony CX150 Handycam to my MacBook Pro?

I do I import a video with sound from a Sony CX150 Handycam to a Mac Book Pro?  I imported the video but there is no sound.

  • Importing video with sound to GarageBand 2.0 and iOS 7.0.4

Importing video with sound to GarageBand 2.0 and iOS 7.0.4
My daughter has an iPad 2 with GarageBand 2.0 and iOS 7.0.4.  She would like to import a video file which has a sound track on it to GarageBand for iPad so that she can add an additional sound track to it.  The video/audio file to be imported would be in AVI, MPEG2 or another iPad compatible format.  Is this possible? If so, how would the mechanics work?  Would you: (1) load the file into the Movies section of iTunes and import the file from the Movies section of iTunes; (2) save the file onto an SD card and import the video/audio file from the SD card by inserting the SD card into an "SD adaptor" on an "iPad Camera Connection Kit"; or (3) email the video file to yourself and upload it to GarageBand from email?

This is part of a mobile training application and I allow the learner to record an audio response in addition to viewing the videos.  When they record a response, you can hear the playback so the device has its volume up and working when the app is running.  Since I posted this issue, I switched to .flv video and that plays ok.  It's apparently the .mp4 video that's a problem.  I'm encoding it with ffmpeg and suspect that it's something with the settings.   Do you have a recommendation for mp4 settings for OSMF?

  • Capturing/recording/saving front camera as video (with sound)

    hi,
would it be possible to record a video with sound (front camera) on mobile devices (ios and android)?
i need to save the video on a webserver when it's finished recording.
i don't want the user to leave the main app so it would be necessary to use a custom recording solution.
anyone knows how to achieve this?
    cheers,
    marc

Copy the entire folder structure from the camera to your hard drive and import from there

  • Getting Video to Play on My Ipod Classic

Ok...so what am I doing wrong? I have an Ipod Classic and a Mac with ITunes 7.5. I have downloaded some video podcasts on my computer that I subscribe to such as some from the Washington Post. They play perfectly on my computer (video and sound); however, when I play them on my IPod I get a static album cover and only the sound of the programs play---not the video. I did this with several different podcasts. I must be doing SOMETHING wrong as I have previously played video on this IPod. I must confess, I have not used it in while some this may be direct USER ERROR......
    Thanks!

Thanks to all for your assistance. My problem was solved by going to http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302828 This link was provided to me by someone on these discussion boards. Thanks to everyone for their help!
    Happy 2008!! Problem solved!

  • Will MPEG-2 convert a video with sound?

I've converted my videos to MPEG-4 using Quicktime Pro, and they play fine but with no sound.
Is this the application I need to convert them with sound?

I've converted my videos to MPEG-4 using Quicktime Pro, and they play fine but with no sound. Is this the application I need to convert them with sound? http://www.apple.com/quicktime/mpeg2/
No. As Kay tried to explain, the MPEG2 component will simply allow you to extract the video data from a "muxed" stream of audio/video information. To extract and convert both audio and video data, use an MPEG based third party application like MPEG Streamclip (free). This application uses MPEG routines to decocde "muxed files (e.g., MPEG1, MPEG2, VOB, etc.) and then uses your QT Tools package to convert them to an iPod specific (or other QT compatible) format. (NOTE: Windows version of MPEG Streamclip does require the Apple MPEG2 component you asked about.)

  • Getting started with Sound

    Hello everybody,
I am new to working with sound on JAVA, though I am not new to Java programming in general.
I am having trouble finding a place to start with a (I think...) simple problem:
I want to implement the following functionality:
    1) Load an audio file from disc in one of the three formats *.wav, *.aiff or *.mp3
    2) Specify a start and end time (preferrably in milliseconds) and play the corresponding part of the sound file
My hope is that there is a ready-to-use class for this in Java 1.4., but I can't seem to find it. javax.sound.sampled.Clip seems to provide some of the things I am looking for, but it is an INTERFACE. Is there a class which IMPLEMENTS it?
    Thanks for your help.
    Thomas

Hi new Java developper in sound :),
Just to help you to begin, you have two different thing to work with sound on java.
    - Javasound (javax.sound) include in the JDK1.4
    - JMF (javax.media) download on the JMF home page
If you wanna do something very simple you can use the Javasound API. It'very easy to use and you can access easily to the data.
If you wanna support different format or implement effect or do something more powerful, you will need to use JMF (in fact this forum is here for that). I pretty sure that Javasound don't support mp3, so will need to use JMF.
Just for you to know, JMF use Javasound to render some sound format, so you can consider JMF like an new layer after Javasound. For the sun-ibm implementation.
I post already some code who do the job you need (I guess). It's was for video but it work also for sound.

    good luck

  • Why does my iPhone 4 get slower with every update? (iPod app special)

When i tab ipod and then movies i almost have to wait longer than with my old iPhone 3G. And it get worst with every update. ***? I am thinking about downdating to 3.something then my iPhone 4 was really quick.

Here is my update on this issue. This isn't normal. I spoke to several tech support people, sr tech support people, etc and we found out that somehow my battery was damaged during the update. They found this out by sending me a diagnostic file via sms. I was sent into the apple store to replace my phone. I had it a little under a year, with 40 days left on my warranty. When I went to the store I was able to show the rep at the store the issue described in this thread. He just scratched his head. It was a quick swap. I spent a lot of time trying to fix this issue. I tried everything. Removing itunes_control files, several restores, starting from scratch. I could duplicate the issue every time. It's a bug and I'm sure it will be addressed. If you are still under warranty, I would recommend getting it checked by an apple tech to see if it messed up your battery and perhaps get it replaced. Battery issues on these devices cause lots of problems.

  • How to get videos to work on 5gen Ipod with firmware v1.1

This is a reprint from a previous post by check_six6 so thank him/her.
-Connect your iPod to your computer, ensures its updated via iTunes, then disconnect it from PC and exit iTunes
    - Download iPodSetup 2005-11-17 here:
    http://appldnld.m7z.net/content.info.apple.com/iPod/ww/win/061-2225.20051128.PDW nw/iPodSetup.exe
    - Download iPodWizard here:
    http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=153441
(download the release, top link of the two)
    - Uninstall iPod for Windows 2006-1-10 and reboot
    - Install iPodSetup 2005-11-17
-Connect your iPod to PC, make sure iTunes is not running
-Make sure that the check box labeled "allow ipod to automatically start Itunes" is unchecked. Restart
    -Launch iPodWizard.
-In the top left, click "Open Updater"
-Locate the iPod Updater.exe located in a sub-folder where you just installed iPodSetup 2005-11-17
-In the "Firmware:" drop down menu, select "5th Generation iPod (v.13.6.0)"
-Click "Load" just to the right of the drop down menu
-In the iPodWizard Essentials box on the right, it should say "Found 1 iPod drives:"
-Click "Downgrade Firmware". I'ts very quick.
    -Close the iPodWizard
-Again, make sure iTunes is not running
-From your Start menu, run iPod Updater 2005-11-17 and click "Update", not "Restore"
-Once the update is completed (it takes a few minutes), exit the iPod Updater and run it again to view the new firmware number. It should read:
"Software Version: 1.0 (up to date)"
-Launch iTunes. A pop up window will ask you if you want to download the new software version 1.1. Tick the box "Do not ask me again" and click "CANCEL"
To avoid a majority of problems if you have the newest upgrade to itunes you must uninstall itunes and then uninstall Ipod updater for all updates restart and then reinstall the downgrade updater version and then you should be able to downgrade your firmware to version 1.0. I used 3-4 different programs to convert videos and they all lost sound and hung up in v1.1 downgraded to v1.0 and all work just fine. I don't know what the problem is but this solution seems to work.

  • I have a macbook 13" late 2009 and would like to connect my TV to macbook to view video with sound. What cable do I need to mack work?

    I have a macbook 13" late 2009 operating system OS10.9.2.
I would like to connect my macbook to my TV . I have connected a mini DVI / HDMI cable to my tv which works for the picture but have no sound.
How do I get the sound to work?
    Thanks

When you connect the MacBook using a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter you will probably need to use external speakers or a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack to RCA sound plugs connected to a stereo sound system if your TV doesn't have separate RCA input plugs or a 3.5mm stereo input plug for audio with the HDMI plug. The Mini DisplayPort to HDMI doesn't carry audio unless you have the Mid 2010 model 7,1 and there're no audio plugs on most TVs to work with HDMI since it's expecting audio with the HDMI. But check your TV manual to see if it has audio plugs that work with one of the HDMI ports.
If you have the Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody or Late 2009 model 6,1 White Unibody with the Mini DisplayPort rather than the Mini-DVI there is an adapter that uses the Mini DisplayPort and a USB port to combine video and audio to HDMI. It's only 2 channel stereo not 5.1 Dolby Surround.

  • Get Pinwheel with 1st & 2nd Gen IPod Shuffle

I run ITunes 7.0.2. Last week I've been getting that wonderful "Pinwheel" everytime I connect my shuffle. I bought the 2nd Gen Shuffle and I get the same Pinwheel at connection, download and ejection. Eventually, after about 3 minutes or so, the Pinwheel disappears and everything seems fine.
When I bought the new 2nd Gen device, I downloaded some of my songs and it started downloading very very slowly with the appearance of the Pinwheel between some of the download sequences. I've never had the Pinwheel show up during any downloads.
When I eject using the little arrow icon to the right of my IPod device, the Pinwheel shows up for about 2-3 minutes, disappears and my device ejects.
What is going on? Anybody know how I can fix this?
    Thanks.

Sounds more like System than Shuffle problems. You might get it sorted with a simple logout (via the Apple Menu) to a Restart, or might need to Repair Permissions, or might need to run some of the maintenance scripts.
