Getting Vidoes onto my iPod, but im getting the wrong message!
i know that, to convert video files that have been downloaded from a different source, you have to either right click it or go into advanced and click on "Convert Selection for iPod". but everytime i get "Convert Selection to AAC", which changes the movie into a sound file, which really isnt what i want. what does this mean? and how do i get my other movies onto my ipod? thank you
Greetings alexa and welcome to Apple Discussions. I will certainly give it a try, but first off, this question is marked "answered" so few folks will likely see your very new question. Starting a "new" question is encouraged in these forums, this way you get everyone's eyes on it.
Anyway, to try to help ... first try deauthorizing then reauthorizing your iTunes account. If that doesn't work try these:
1. Set iTunes to show your applications. On the menu bar, click Edit > Preferences... and make sure Show: Applications is checked.
2. Make sure your apps are downloaded. On the menu bar, click Store > Check for Available Downloads
3. Update the iPod touch's firmware if you haven't already. Plug it in to iTunes, click on it in the left pane, and click the Update button.
4. With your Touch plugged into your computer, click the Applications tab on the Main (right) side of the iTunes screen. Check the "All applications" box, then click the "Apply" button on the bottom right.
5. Sync your Touch (click the "Sync" button on the bottom right.)
6. Eject (click the eject button next to your iPod's name). Once your iPod or iTunes says "OK to Disconnect", unplug it or undock it.
If all that doesn't work we'd need a bit more info from you: 1) your iPod Touch version (under Settings > General > About); and 2) your iTunes version (under Help > About).
You might also want to try the information in these two links:

Hi.
The song that it stops on, can you play it in iTunes? Have you tried to sync without this song in your library? -
I have an app called ipieta which was originally downloaded onto an ipod. I gave the ipod to someone else, but now that I've had the iphone I can not get the audio even though it is downloaded into itunes music like it said to do. It won't work. I've tried more than several times to get help but nothing helps. Do I need to deauthorize the ipod or perhaps erase all the downloaded ipieta stuff and start over?
Thanks for any suggestionsSorry. There's nothing anyone can do. The current version of the facebook app will not run on 4.2.1. The iPhone 3G won't run anything higher than 4.2.1. You're stuck.
Maybe it's time to buy yourself a new iPod Touch. -
i have about 800 more songs on my nano than itunes, due to a crash. How can I get the songs onto itunes from the ipod, or at least get the new music ive gotten since the crash onto my ipod without deleting all the other songs when it syncs?
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion. Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If you have failed to bakup, then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod: File>Transfer Purchases -

You can sync your iPod with multiple computers, but what can be synced is very limited. See this article for more details.

iTunes keeps giving me the message that my iPod is currupted. I have restored the iPod and reloaded iTunes but keep getting the same message. What's weird is that my iPod will connect to another PC and that my PC will connect to my daughter's iTouch. Any ideas? My iPod was working with my PC for years and just started getting this error.
According to this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694

My iPod Classic was stolen and returned to me by police but now it "cannot be synced because it cannot be written to or read from". I noticed the thief had changed the format to "windows" but I have restored it and still get the same message.
If the media is in the library then yes it is that simple. Connect the device, load it up with your media. The problem is when you try to connect a full device to a new empty library on a new computer when iTunes will offer to replace the content on the device with that in the local library, i.e. nothing! (For anyone in that position see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device).
You should be able to add your devices at https://supportprofile.apple.com/ though I'm not sure what happens if the second hand iPod was previously registered.

Doublechecking. Have you also tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:

When I try to eject my ipod after sync I get the following message:The iPod cannot be restored because it contains files that are in use by another application.". I tried to restore but it doesn't work and I get the same message
Go to your computer's System Tray and try ejecting. If you can't eject, there is an application that is trying to access your iPod.
Go to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx and download ProcessExplorer.
Go to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555665 and follow the instructions under Resolution.
Note that this is a good, general process any time you can't access any file.
In my case an update to RealPlayer installed a program called RecordingManager that was accessing my iPod. -
I need to updatw my Touch version 4.3.3, but keep getting the error message "The software update server could not be contacted". It tells me to check the network settings but it looks like everything is ok. What might I be missing?

Help. My daughter backed up her iPod but copied all the info from my iPhone. So now the iPod and iPhone have exactly the same things. How do I get all her stuff back on her iPod?
Restore her iPod for the the backup of her iPod on the computer that she syncs with. For how to restore from backup see the restore topic of:

Every time I sync my iTouch I get the following message - "iTunes could not back up the iPod because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPod. Delete the backup for this iPod, then try again." However, when I follow these instructions, delete the backup and try again - I get the same message. Any ideas what is wrong?
