GetURL does not work on 3rd party websites

Alright - I have a banner that I use for a band called Hidden
Soul. It is used on MySpace, Purevolume, etc for promotion reasons.
It use to work fine - with a "getURL" method on the banner itself
embedded in Flash. Now - ever since Microsoft has released
SP2......none of that works!
What to do?

Edit: Although I need admit I have yet to try a third party host because it just makes more sense to me to use BC.

Internet Not Working on 3rd Party Network (Please help!!!)

Cool forum. Hopefully cool enough to solve this weird problem.
I own a BlackBerry Tour and live in Sweden part of the year. Since I put the 3rd party SIM in my phone and activated the account, I cannot get internet to work. I can use BIS services etc., but browsing the internet does not work....when I try it says "Could not connect tog the internet, please try again".
The weird thing is that sometimes I can browse google etc. through the BlackBerry Help! app...but other apps don't work. I'm thinking maybe it has to do with APN settings?
PLEASE HELP!!!!

I think you didn't select the Flash with SFCommand in the HTML tab inside the Template dropdown menu, that's the reason your Actions Scripts doesn't work in the html view.
To access hold down CTRL+SHIFT+F12--->HTML tab--->The first dropdown menu at the top

Quicktime movie does not work on hosted iWeb website

Problem: I have a media file portion on my iWeb designed website that displays pictures (working very well) and one that is supposed to show a movie (not working at all). The movie was made with iMovie and has an .m4v extension. When you click on the link for the movie it shows a blank screen on Firefox and a Quicktime logo with a big question mark on Safari. I'm attempting to view the website on my Mac with the latest Quicktime software on it but it doesn't work. Any ideas on how to fix it?
Some additional info: the hosting provider is 1and1.com and I have a Windows server package (unfortunately). Also, if I publish the site to a folder the movie area works flawlessly, it just does not work on the hosted site.

Thank you. I converted the file to .MOV and it now works on Safari but has not worked on Firefox (have not tried yet on a Windows based machine). At least headed in the right direction. I will also contact 1and1. Thanks again.

Firewire iSight not working with 3rd party software on Leopard

I just installed OSX Leopard and not able to use firewire isight on any program other than ichat. I use 3rd party software for video conferencing (educational setting) and need an external iSight so as to position the camera on larger groups. Anyone have any suggestions?

My external iSight is working fine with QuickTime Pro, iMovie, Photo Booth (v2).
If http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93240 does not get things working, and especially if your problem is only with your 3rd party app, contact the developer to see if there are known issues with Leopard.

Video Stabilisation not working in 3rd Party Apps

Hello,
I did some searching but couldn't dig up an answer, and perhaps the answer lies in the hands of the developer.
So yesterday I bought a Z1 Compact to do a very specific job. It's sole purpose is to be used as a dash-cam on my 2-wheeler and as such the contender for my choice had to be waterproof, have a full-hd or good quality camera, and have image stabilisation due to all the vibrations associated with this task and where it will be mounted.
I'm using an app called VideoRegPro, within the app it says it supports video stabilisation, although it also says it may not work with some devices (presumably because IS is not available on all phones yet), however it makes no difference to the recording and IS seems to be off no matter what I select with this option.
I've also tried using the following apps:
AutoGuard Blackbox
DailyRoads Voyager
Kimgisa Black Box
but all have the same issue even though the developer may state they support IS.
I'm running 4.4.2, and the exact model number is: D5503
I hope someone can help, as this is the last piece to the puzzle to get this all working.

IWeb generated RSS not working on 3rd party server regardless of efforts

Hi,
I have been reading various posts about how one has to upload both the folder and index.html file generated by iWeb, when one publishes an iWeb created website to a folder, and how it's important to place the domain URL into the line / space provided in the "Publish to a folder" window, and I believe I've done all that correctly without breaking any pathways.
However, it seems my web hosting service may be incompatible, when it comes to the RSS feeds, and I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on this.
My server's structure is as follows when I FTP into it:
IP address>webroot>htdocs>website
My web hoster says the htdocs folder is the same as my domain name, www.dhdtv.ca
If I upload just the files from my published folder, dhdtv.ca, into my htdocs folder, the entire website displays & functions properly, with the exception of the pathways from the Subscribe buttons to the RSS feeds being broken.
Alternatively, if I upload the published folder, dhdtv.ca, along with the seperate index.html file, and place both in the htdocs folder, my website does not display.
Nor does it display if I take the published dhdtv.ca folder and accompanying index.html file out of the htdocs folder and place them in webroot, which is one level up.
My hosting company insists that I place my website in htdocs.
I've tried various combinations and the only thing that works is having all the files and folders from inside my published folder, dhdtv.ca, removed from the dhdtv.ca folder and placed directly into the htdocs folder.
Of course, no RSS feeds will work because of the broken pathways.
Given the above, can anyone tell me if my server configuration is compatible or not with the manner in which iWeb creates its RSS pathways and needs to be placed onto a server?
Or does anyone have a solution for this kind of configuration? My RSS feeds are video podcasts.

This is the right way to do it, and it should display correctly. The problem could be because you have named your first page Index. This conflicts with index.html files which iWeb produces. I suggest to change the name of your first page to Welcome or Home and republish and try reuploading the dhdtv.ca folder plus the separate index.html file again. Do put them in htdocs.
Also you might want to change the name of your site inside iWeb to something short and simple like A or 1 before you republish.

New MBPro and iTunes does not work along with certain websites on Chrome and Safari

I just bought my Macbook Pro 13" about two weeks ago. Everything worked fine when I was at school and at my friends house. The day I came home, I was not able to go to many websites such as Facebook.com or even my Gmail on Chrome or Safari. Also, the App Store does not load. I started using Firefox, and I am able to go on any website. Unfortuantely, the problem still exists with the App Store. Also, whenever I launch iTunes, it immediately freezes and I get the rainbow wheel and have to force quit. If I go straight to my music from Finder and click on a music file to play, it open iTunes, but freezes it and doesn't play anything. Can anyone at all help me with these problems?! I didn't expect to run into so many issues since my laptop is so new. I feel like it could have something to do with the internet at my house...

Is it possible your home router is blocking some websites? I used to help parents set up routers to block out certain websites so that their kids would stay pure and honest. Anyways, if all else is the same, and the variable is the router (home, school, friends house), then we have to blame the router.

SPA IP Phone - * (Star Key) not working using 3rd party conference service

Hi - I have an SPA 504G with SIP service and use a third party conference service to host conference call. The 3rd party service requires me to log in as the Leader and to do this I have to press the * key. This doesn't work possibly becuse * has been configured as a short action code.
Does anyone know of a way to disable short codes (*) whilst a call is in progress?

Then deconfiguration of such action codes and/or relevant supplemental services should solve your problem.

Lollipop: DSP not working in 3rd party apps

DSP doesn't work in the 3rd party applications after lollipop update. Works in Walkman.
I remember similar situation on KitKat. It was resolved eventually with firmware update, though.
Should I submit a bug and where to do it? Or I just can leave it here?

That's not a Sony issue but the third party apps developers have to address this issues. contact them directly.

Volume not working on 3rd party apps

My volume works on ipod, facetime, itunes (all apple native apps) on my ipad 2, but not on any other 3rd party apps such as zombies, angry birds and time/warner tv apps. I have checked volume both within apps and in settings.

Image preview not working with 3rd party photo apps in iPhoto/Image Capture

I haven't had a problem until recently with the iPhone 4. Pictures taken with third party photo apps such as Shake It Photo or Hipstamatic no longer generate a thumbnail preview in either iPhoto or Image Capture. It's just a generic jpg icon. All pictures taken with Apple's camera app appear just fine. I also had a problem where I couldn't import any of the photos, but I restarted the phone a couple times and that seemed to fix the importing issue, but not the thumbnail preview issue. This is particularly weird because i've been importing pictures since the first day this phone came out, and it's only been doing this since yesterday.
I know a lot of people are having problems getting their iPhoto to recognize the phone at all or that there are photos on the phone, but is anyone else having the same problem as me? Any solutions? I have iPhoto 8.1.2.

I have this issue but didn't recognize it until I read your post. I thought it was 2 bad photos.

Safari with panther 10.3.9 does not work well in several websites

I use Safari with 10.3.9 - and with several websites - they will crash every time.
when I use my PC with Vista - all of the sites I visit do not crash - do you think it may be that the Safari I am using is too old and I need to upgrade to Tiger- I think my mac mini can take OS 10.4 tiger (1.25 ghz with 1 gb ram).

There will be some bugs lurking in Safari 1.3.2 that will no longer be fixed as attention is now focused on Leopard. But, the crashes may be the result of something completely different and be fixable.
Can you post the crash report you get when Safari crashes? You can obtain the crash text by clicking the (Report...) button in the Unexpectedly Quit window and using command+c to copy the text.
I think my mac mini can take OS 10.4 tiger (1.25 ghz with 1 gb ram).
From that information, Tiger should work fine in your Mac mini fyi.

IPod 30GB will not work with 3rd party USB 2.0 PCI card

I've had an IOGear PCI USB 2.0 card (GIC220U-BIO) in my Sawtooth for some time now, and have been using it flawlessly with my Canon i860 printer, and Canon LiDE 30 Scanner.
Just recently I received a Video iPod (30GB) and wanted to take advantage the high speed USB bus offered on that card to sync my iPod. The problem is, when I plug in the iPod to the USB port on that card, I get the transparent gray box telling me that I need to restart my mac by pushing the reset switch, or holding the power button for several seconds (in other words, freezes).
The iPod works fine with the built-in USB ports (albeit slow), as well as the high speed port on my iBook G4. Why am I getting this error? There are no drivers or firmware updates for this PCI card available.
Is there a solution?

Yes, use a different USB 2.0 PCI card, like from Sonnet. I use a Sonnet in a G5 and it works great. There are (at least) 2 USB chipsets and I find the TI ones are great and the other not so great.
The fact it works on 1.1 and the 2.0 on the G4 at least tells you it is not the iPod and a USB 2 card is $20 or $30 at the most.

Css and images not working on 3rd party server

I have read the previous posts on this subject, but found no resolution.
I can confirm that the CSS and images were uploaded to Media Temple.
The permissions are set to "read"
I didn't change any of the file structures. uploaded as it was output by Muse.
Any new thoughts?

On fox same thing except no image boxes even.
I have a support request in with MT so I will see what they have to say.
