Gf4 mx440

i just bought the gf4 mx440 but the prob is when i play a game its too dark..i tried to increase gamma for d3d and opengl mode but i cant find them!!! ;( ..i even downloaded the latest driver from vvidia.com//no result
i only found the desktop gamma control..any1 can help?

I had that same problem In Morrowind.
open your display properties, select "advanced".
select your GeForce tab, select "nView display mode"
in the lower right corner you will se a button labled "device settings" click on it and select "color correction"
I believe that should get you where you want to go.

If you want to try newer drivers newer than the 41.09, then you may want to take a look at the NVIDIA drivers at Guru3D and try the 43.00 driver. I am trying it out right now and it gave me a slight frames boost in a few games. I am running DirectX 9.0 by the way.

My GF4 MX440 TV-OUT finally works after one and half a year!!!

I bought this MSI GF4 MX440 video card in the middle of 2002. It comes with TV-IN and TV-OUT. The TV-IN works well and I can record video by connecting it to the AV-OUT of my TV. However, the TV-OUT didn’t work: after connecting the TV-OUT port to the AV-IN of the TV, the driver detected the TV correctly, but after selected clone option from nView, the whole screen of TV becomes light gray and no picture is displayed at all. I tried more than 5 different drivers (including the original MSI driver) and Win9x, Win2000 and XP, nothing works.
Yesterday I installed TVTool, and strange things happened: when I run TVTool the first time, nothing was changed: the TV is still in light gray color. After I clicked on button “Scan” in “Adjust” tab in TVTool, the screen of computer is displayed in the TV! Even if I quit TVTool, the TV-OUT is still working. I went to the display properties and setup TV as the device for full screen display, then when I use Windows Media Player or Real Player to play a video using normal size, the movie is displayed full screen on TV automatically! It’s really amazing. After stopped playing the video, the TV comes back to display the screen of the monitor again.
After I rebooted the system, the TV-OUT was not working initially, TV displays light gray again. But after run TVTool once without doing anything, the TV-OUT starts working even if quit TVTool now. So now when I want to use TV-OUT, I have to run TVTool once and the quit it. It is much better than nothing works at all.
I cannot explain why this happens. It looks that the TVTool enables something in the chip of the video card. Hope this will help somebody else.
BTW, this is my first and will be the last video card from MSI.

i m also having the same MX440 card , i am also having one problem with it..
i can run the TV-OUT option easily..
but as the screen of computer is displayed in the TV, but when i try to run any movie on my PC and i want to see the movie simultaniously at the same time , it is not possible ..
i can only see it on the primary display which is set.. , it coult be TV or monitor..
i want to see the same movie in both the display at the same time , is that possible ?

What Adapter cable is included in Gf4 MX440 package?

It is not a VTP, it is a T one, without VIVO thingy.
I have the same card and I am not able to find the cable adapter because it is something like 9 and a flat pins connector, not normal S-Video.

MSI K7T266PRO2 + GF4 MX440-8x = lots of artifacts.

hi, I experience lots of artifacts in games with this card and mobo - card is Gainward GF4 PP! Pro/600-8x XP - a AGP8x version of nv17. It has a dualhead function - when I want to use tv-out function I must connect my monitor via DVI connector or else I won't be able to use my TV-Out AND monitor simultanously (card has typical analog connector, DVI and VIVO). No matter what OS I have or drivers I use the artifacts are always there (card is not twekaed )- mostly in D3D games - in OGL there are less or no at all. I thought the card was the problem but I tested it on Epox 8RDA+ which has AGP8x and it worked perfectly so it I figured out my mobo is the reason of those problems.... What should I do? I've read about the problems with this (?) mobo and GF4 MX but mine is working fine expect these artifacts.... help...

PSU seems to be OK - apart from this problem my PC is perfectly stable. 4in1 are 4.43 (optimized for older chipsets). When I change drivers I use DriverCleaner. - currently I have 53.03 - directly from Gainward's site.

GF4 MX440 BIOS N8866ms.140T ?

If you look at this question from the FAQ http://www.msicomputer.com/support/formviewer.asp?esoformid=485
It mentions this bios update for the mx440 msi-8866 VTP card. However it doesn't give any mention where to get it, and it's not listed on the Live Update 2 site (only version 8866ms.110).
I am having this black/blank display issue with WinXP and it would seem that this bios is the solution.
Anyone know how/where to get it?

Two files contained in the archive: vgaflash.exe and n8866ms.140T. Instructions for flashing are:
from a win98 command prompt (possibly an XP command prompt too, but if not, try a dos boot disk and type it in native dos) type:
vgaflash -f N8866MS.140T
It will spend approximately 10seconds beeping to erase the old bios, and 10seconds beeping to write the new one. Outputting text letting you know what it's doing. THe end should be a message on whether or not the flash was sucessful.
Remember, flash at your own risk, and use the twinbios/safebios (board jumper) if anything goes wrong

I have GF4 and on directx display some textures (their edges) are not displayed properly. I tried nvidia divers 45.23, 52.16, 53.03. I am useing Win 2000. Any sugestions, or sould I post my system specs?

Kt 266 pro2 and leadtek gf4 mx440

hi... i have k7t266 pro2 mobo and leadtek gf4 mx 440 graphics. my problem is when i turn on my pc it has to beep once but it beeps twice after it goes post screen. and windows doesn't load but msdos loads... i flashed bios to v3,7 but it didn't work... what can i do?

or bring back your leadtek video card to replace a better one (GF4 Ti....).

in the past i used the GF4 mx 440 for my k7t266 pro2.

solutions:
replace a fixed k7t266 pro2
or wait (collect money) for another video card/mainboard.
the mainboard has problems with the power-consumption of your leadtek GF4 mx 440 (very known problem).
maybe you can try another/better power supply.
(+3.3v & +5v = min. 200w)

I recenstly did my 3dmark and noticed that my grpahics card d0oesnt seem to be running at pure hardware like ive seen simular cards as mine runn at th prob is that they are getting higher marks by over a 1000 i get around 5900 - 6100 changes but here getting close to 7000 could it be my drivers
I am currently running direct x 9
and am using the 6.14.10.5672 drivers
i am reformating soon so do u think i should just stick with direct x 9 as its not a d9 card.

3D Mark 2001 results don't have the real GPU clock speed or RAM speeds so you don't know if the cards you are comparing yourself to are overclocked or not.
6000 3D Mark 2001 for a GF4 MX is quite respectable, but isn't it time to ditch it anyway

MSI K7T266 Pro(MS-6380 v2.x) AND Gf4 MX440

8 beeps at boot. I try 3 or 4 reset then boot normaly. No problems under Windows XP. BIOS v3.7.
Is there a voltage problem on AGP slot as I read in some forums around the world (I'm french) ?

i have this GF4 card and i cant get past the POST. i have read the threads with the PSU issue and here is my PSU specs. i would like to know if i have the same problem

i think i may have the same problem as the others.

The PSU is far from great, but the KT266 Pro and Pro2 don't work with GF4 MX.
Either send the boar to be repaired by MSI (for free) or replace the card (ATI Radeon 9000/8500 or a GF3 Ti200 are all faster and in the same price range).

GF4 MX440 8xAGP - Capture problems

I have just recently installed this card and am unable to capture any video. I can output video to the TV with no problems, but when I try to capture (using various different programs) I get nothing. I have installed the capture driver (both from the cd and then the updated version on the MSI website) but it has not changed anything. Any advice would be great!

AMD Athlon 2600 XP with 333 FSB
1026 MB Samsung DDR Ram

I have been 3 days so far with no response from MSI. I have been really impressed with the preformance of my MSI board, and video card, except for the capture not working. DO any techs check this forum or is it only for consumers to look at and see how many other people are haveing problems with there MSI things? so far i have seen nothing but unanswered posts here. guess that means MSI is only interested if you have everything MSI.... wait a minute. I do have everything MSI, everything that could be MSI is. So why do i still have conflicts and errors? shouldn't all MSI products be compatible together?

I have a couple of issues I cannot seem to find the answers to. HELP!!!!
1. After I install the SIS UDMA Drivers, my video card(monitor) flashes on and off after I login (I believe it happens when nview drivers start or a least right around that time). This problem also happens randomly during game play (split second monitor off, monitor on). With a clean install, all is well, provided I do not install the SIS Drivers (2.1 and 2.2).... Damn no ATA... what a waste of money!
2. My video card has a seperate issue. I cannot get my TV out to work on my video card. I have tried the latest drivers and some backdated ones... NOTHING I do works. Video in works in all cases but video out.... NO WAY! It will not find a TV display and I have no way to Force it to use TV out to test. I am at a lost and am very frustrated.
So far I am VERY UNHAPPY with MSI. I get absolutely NO response via email, phone etc... I am at my wits end!!!
If I can not resolve these issues soon, MSI will get there CRAP back with a nice BIG BOW and the NASTIEST letter they have ever received. At that point I will see to it that I do everthing in my power to inform the public, via the media, of my woes, and see to it that it does not happen to another unsuspecting, prospective buyer of MSI Products.
MSI take some tips from a CONCERNED CUSTOMER.... Your customer service needs MAJOR improvments.... Remember, without us you would not have made the $1.14 Billion USD you did in public sales in 2002.... Something to think about I'd say!

You have to connect your monitor to the DVI connector with DVI/VGA adapter and then tv-out will work
