GF4 TV-Ou Question

Hi all!
Can anybody explain me how the card (in my case 440MX VTP) can find out whether it has to "send" an Composite or an S-Video Signal to the TV?
I know that it can detect whether there is an Chinch or an S-Video Cable. But then the card still acn't know which mode the TV supports.
Why i ask this question:
I need TV Tool to force the card to use Composite otherwise i can't see a Picture but a _whole_ green or blue one.
I tried many drivers, called the support but nobody could help me.
By the way, how is my English ´:)

I have the same problem as you. Except my TV comes up with a blue or yellow screen .
Anyway, I re-formatted and put on a fresh install of Windows XP and installed the drivers that I got from my MSI Driver CD, it all worked fine - before I had to use TV Tool to get it to work. The drivers on my CD were 2750.
My problem now is that if I installed new (faster) drivers then the TV Out stops working again, and I have to use Windows Driver Roll-Back to make it work again. I've tried both the MSI drivers I found on the Live Update, and all the new dets (including 4041) and it still doesnt work for me.
I dont think you need to tell the card what TV Out connection to use, as I didnt have to do it with the 2750's - so I suggest you try the 2750's yourself or look at the MSI ones on your CD if you havnt already. You may have to re-install as I did, sorry 8o

Yes is does. But does your motherboard actually support it? (Some of the old Via Based Motherboards said they did, but there were problems with the GART.)

Another GF4 MX 460 question

After reading dozens and dozens of posts on the problems with this line of cards, I'm still not sure if my problem is correctable.
OS: Windows XP
CPU: Athlon 1.3GHz
RAM: 512MB
Previous card: SiS Integrated with motherboard
Computer experience: Very little
I picked up this card yesterday and after four hours of dinking with it I don't know what to do.
First I downloaded the drivers from nVidia -- 41.09 and installed them prior to putting the card.
Put in the card and computer shut down during boot process.
Took out the card, rebooted, deleted the drivers I had installed thinking it had something to do with that.
Reinstalled card. Booted fine.
Add Hardware manager searched for drivers. Found none.
Redownloaded 41.09. Ran Add Hardware utility. Still never found the drivers.
Ran the .exe file for 41.09.
17% of the way through installation, system shut down.
Repeated the whole process and downloaded drivers 30.82. Same deal with not finding drivers, me telling it where to find them, the utility finding nothing there, etc.
Ran the.exe file. Installed fine, a couple times monitor went black but then came back to life with the boot sequence uniterrupted.
At the "Choose User" screen I selected a user and loaded my settings. Seconds after loading them the computer freezes up.
Rebooted. This time freeze up at choose user screen. Same results a couple different times.
BIOS setting at either "PCI" or "OnboardVGA" makes no difference. I have an AGP slot, but not an option in the BIOS setting. Card itself seems to be working fine.
I've read the responses regarding power supply but I don't think that would be the issue given that the 30.82 drivers do not result in shutdown, but freeze up instead.
Appreciate any help or suggestions.

Also install chipset latest drivers. It is very important, specially on SiS/VIA chipsets. Try latest nVIDIA Drivers. Also (may be not important but to be sure) touch the board to know if it´s hot. May be it reboots because of that.

MSI GF4 Ti4200 VTD8X tech question

Hi everyone, I hope u can help me with this:
I'm planning on buying a MSI GF4 Ti4200 VTD8X (Video In) from the United States which uses the NTSC system for Video, however where I live we use the PAL system for Video. So my question is will I be able to use the Video In feature of the card ?( ?? Do these cards work using both video systems or are there different video versions of the card?

Unreal Tournament (not 2003) questions?

Configured my UT to run in D3D instead of OpenGL (version of UT that came with my GeForce 2).
Patched it to most recent version (4.x, dont remember the version at the moment).
And then i want do some benchmarks (which i have not yet had time to enjoy since i got my GF4). So i have some questions.
1. It was ages ago i did benchmarks in UT. Is there any way to timedemo it without actually playing it?
2. Is there any way to start a bot game and remain a spectator?

GF4 TI4200 BSOD Dilemma - Please help!

Greetings gurus and fellow frustrated gamers. I purchased MSI's GF4 TI4200 about a year ago and have been putting up with a problem I thought was related to other components for a long time. Every single 3D graphics game I play in windows XP will eventually and utterly crash with a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) which relates always to the nv4_dsp.dll file which is Nvidia's driver. I have tried 12 drivers...MSI/NVidia/experimental with no change. With help from the folks on the forum I replaced the PSU with an Antec 400w with no change. I have tried my old Geforce2 MX400 with the same problem. I have reformatted the computer 8 times and removed every single additional component except what was required to test my problem. I just purchased Star Wars Galaxies and am now crashing 8-15 times a day. I generally go 20-30 minutes between crashes. This is no longer acceptable. I have received this crash on Warcraft III, WC3:TFT, Neverwinter Nights, SWG, Black & White, and many more.
I have found through search engines that this has something to do with some Windows XP systems and Nvidia drivers and is an issue that does not have a fix. I am hoping that you can offer something that I can do to fix this problem.
Before you ask...this has nothing to do with any other component in my computer. It is not heat, the psu, the motherboard, the memory, the hard drives, etc. I have replaced every single piece in this computer and it still occurs. Check out this link for an example of someone else with the same problem: Similar Problem or use a search engine and type: nv4 blue screen. You will see what I mean...this is happening to tons of people.
My question: Is there a fix?
Any help is most appreciated. If there is not a fix, ATI is my only direction I can take.

Well you are right about it not using IRQ 5, however, it is not conflicting with any other IRQ that I can see. The view under resources by connection reads:

MSi GF4 Ti4800 temp

As you can see in my sig, I have an MSI GF4 Ti4800 in a Neo875P PCB2 mobo. At the weekend I encountered a bit of a problem. After about 6 hours of use, with the CPU running at 100% most of the time (at 46 - 49 degrees) I started to get strange patterns scrolling vertically down the screen. I was unable to make out anything on the screen so I had to hit the reset button. When the machine had rebooted, I ran sppeedfan (v4.13) which reported the GF4 was reaching a temp of around 60 degrees ! When the temp got above 65 degrees I got the wierd patterns again.
This is the first time I've really had a long session since I installed this mobo. Everything else is quite cool - CPU (46-49 degs 100%), HD's (30-35 degs) and case (38 degs).
Is the fact that the North fan is right above the H/S on the GF card causing the card to over heat ? I've removed the fan that came with the card (I've have the card about 14 months or so) and replaced it with a Thermaltake cooper H/S and fan. This HAS made a difference, the temp has not risen above 60 degrees - but this is still really hot.
Is there anything else I can do ? Does the North bridge fan blow or suck ?
Is there much improvement (performace wise) to be had in upgrading to a FX5900 128mb card (MSI or Gainward Gold Sample) ? The MSI FX5900 XT-VTD128 has a fan at the back and front of the card, so I'm wondering if this will foul on the north bridge fan ? Anyone using one of these ?

yea sound like a heat issue with ur ram
u will get grpahical gltches with ur ram such as white spots and also lines this is overheating id perchance a few heatsink for ur memory
also just to let u know
my ti4600 has a full copper heatsink covering all ram and gpu and i get temps of about 65-70 which a well cooled case

MSI GF4 Ti4600

I am having trouble with my new GF4 Ti4600, if i install it under windows me it crashes the system and only starts in safe mode. if i install xp, the card installs but crashes and reboots mt pc everytime i start a game.
Any ideas please.

Always the same old questions when things happend:
1) What is your motherboard model? Updated to the latest BIOS? X( Try to give more system info next time...
2) What is your driver for GF4? Try latest version 30.30 from MSI... becarefully, you will have to download drivers saperately for XP and WindowsME...
3) If you are a OCing your MOB, try to turn OC off first... as they are the cost of problem most of the time.
4) OS version? Make sure you have the latest SP (Service Pack)
5) DirectX 8.1 installed?

is in gf4 Ti4200 VTD 8x /MS-8894/ implemented macrovision in tv-out? ?(

Yes it has macrovision enabled as noted in the user's guide. What you get is a large white box covering most of the video image. Switching to an older capture driver (v1.08 gets rid of the box for me but introduces a mostly out of sync video (still unwatchable). This might be fixed with the use os some sort of amplifier bewteen the player and the video card.

Okay, here is a GF4 Ti4600 problem for you

My MSI Ti4600 problem has a problem blocking in games. It runs a little blocky in most games, but NFS Porsche is the worst.
I had a LeadTek GF3 w/64 meg RAM in there before that ran great. I really don't know why I wanted to change it... The same games ran great on my GF3, and continue to run great on the same GF3 in my P3 750 machine. Here are my machine specs:
P4 2.0 GHtz
768 meg pc800 ram
Western Digital 120 gig 7200 rpm w/8 meg cache
Western Digital 40 gig 7200 rpm
600 watt (yes, 600) power supply
MSI GF4 Ti4600
Intel D850EMV2 motherboard
Aopen 12x DVD
Samsung 40x12x40 cd-rw
USB 2.0
D-Link ethernet card
Creative Labs Audigy Platinum EX
Direct X 9
Windows XP home on the 120 gig drive and Red Hat Linux 8.0 on the 40 gig drive.
Also, the case, processor, chipset, hard drives and video card are all liquid cooled. The card is not overclocked and my video settings are set at 800x600. I had Direct X 8.1 in and it still did the same thing. My 3D Mark score is almost identical to the GF3 card at 11,700.
So what gives? Is this video card as cheap as I think it is?

Okay, problem solved!
I went with the ATI Radeon 9700 Pro, which by the way, uses more power than the GeForce 4 Ti4600, and have not looked back since! Oh yeah, I am using the same power supply too

Be careful about what you call a POS. My guess is that there are less than a dozen power supply manufacturers, as listed on the net. I can assure you that in manufacturing, one company will make the same product and put different names on it for other companies, distributors etc.....
Now a question for deathstalker and wonkaboy:
After about two days of searching the net, magazines, manufacturer's sites and speaking with techs in large and small computer stores, why did I find absolutely no articles or comments about Geforce 4's and power problems? If they need as much power as YOU say, and most power supplies sold in computers are around the 300 watt flavor( and not all antec), then why are there no articles or complaints about it? Why do the manufacturer's not put XXX watts combined required on the box, in the readme or in the manual? Because it is nowhere near an issue you are making of it.
Seriously, with thousands upon thousands of GeForce 4's sold, and nothing about power problems? Except here, of course.
By the way, I did find one site ( Best Buy I think) that listed some power requirements, they averaged at 300 watt power supply, if it was even listed. Most 300, some 250 and only one 350. All with no combined power recommendation.
If MSI has a need, it is heat sinks for the memory chips and a better gpu heat sink, but like your power supply idea, this is just an opinion.
I should've learned from the MSI mobo I had briefly. It had a nice little habit of supplying power to the KVM switch and optical mouse when it was shut down. I, however, got absolutely no help on the old website with this problem.
Now, after all that, I must thank the two of you for replying to this thread and trying to help me with this problem.

1) We have a requirement to customize the Print Quote report. I searched these forums and found that this report can be defined either as a XML Publisher report or an Oracle Reports report depending on a profile option. Can you please let me know what the name of the profile option is?
2) When I select the 'Print Quote' option from the Actions drop down in the quoting page and click Submit I get the report printed and see the following URL in my browser.

No, there is no conc program getting called, you can directly call a report in a browser window, Oracle reports server will execute the report and send the HTTP response to the browser.4) If we want to customize the jsp pages can you please let me know the steps involved in making the customizations and testing them.

Satellite P300D-10v - Question about warranty

HI EVERYBODY
I have these overheating problems with my laptop Satellite P300D-10v.
I did everything I could do to fix it without any success..
I get the latest update of the bios from Toshiba. I cleaned my lap with compressed air first and then disassembled it all and cleaned it better.(it was really clean insight though...)
BUT unfortunately the problem still exists...
So i made a research on the internet and I found out that most of Toshiba owners have the same exactly problem with their laptop.
Well i guess this is a Toshiba bug for many years now.
Its a really nice lap, cool sound (the best in laptop ever) BUT......
So I wanted to make a question. As i am still under warranty, can i return this laptop and get my money back or change it with a different one????
If any body knows PLS let me know.

Regarding the warranty question;
If there is something wrong with the hardware then the ASP in your country should be able to help you.
The warranty should cover every reparation or replacement.
But I read that you have disasembled the laptop at your own hand... hmmm if you have disasembled the notebook then your warrany is not valid anymore :(
I think this should be clear for you that you can lose the warrany if you disasemble the laptop!
By the way: you have to speak with the notebook dealer where you have purchased this notebook if you want to return the notebook
The Toshiba ASP can repair and fix the notebook but you will not get money from ASP.

Question regarding NULL and forms

I'm having an issue though. if i have a multiple choice question, and the user only selects one of the choices, all the unselected choices return as NULL. is there a way i can filter out anytihng that says "NULL" so it only shows the selected options?

i was messing around and came up with this. it doesnt remove the null, but if it is null it adds ABC beside it. so i think i might be getting close. i just need to figure out how to replace the null.

Anyone know how to remove Overdrive books from my iphone that have been transferred from my computer? They do not show up on itunes. I see a lot of answers to this question but they all are based on being able to see the books in iTunes.

How do I remove Overdrive books from the library that were downloaded onto my computer then transferred to my iphone? The problem is that they do not show up in iTunes.
I see this question asked a lot when I google, but they always give answers that assumes you can find the books in iTunes either under the books tab, or the audio books tab or in the music. They do not show up anywhere for me. They do not remove from the app like the ones I downloaded directly onto my iphone.the related archived article does not answer it either. I even asked a guy working at an apple store and he could not help either. Anybody...?

there is an app called daisydisk on mac app store which will help you see exactly where the memory is focused and consumed try using that app and see which folders are using more memory

Basic question

Hello, i have a basic question. if i have defined 2 fields in a cube or a dso:
Name Quantity
and from the external flat file i get some characters for my quantity field. would my load fail? for standard dso and for write optimized?
NOTE: quantity field is a keyfigure defined as numeric.
and the load coming in has "VIKPATEL" for Quantity field and not numbers.

Yes, the load will fail.
May be you coud first load this data into BW (into PSA) and set both fields as characters fields. Then you can create DSO, do transformation from this PSA to the DSO, and put your logic as to what do you want to do with those Quantity that is not number (e.g. convert to 0, or 'Not assgined', etc).
You can use transfer rule, or a clean up ABAP code in the start routine.
