Ghost entities in Flex Builder 4 - how to get rid of them?

Flex Builder 4 is unable to create a release build unless I include a "dummy" file named after the original project name. I created a new project with a "root" application of the same name (project - Projectx and there is a ProjectX.mxml application to go with it), but it won't build unless I also include a ProjectY.mxml file which was the original name of the project before export and import. This is not a serious problem, but I'd like to get rid of the ProjectY.mxml since it has no function (excetp to make the project build successfully, which I suppose is a function of sorts).

I got an address from Applecare, although I can't place my hand on it right now. I didn't bother persuing the letter route myself as I didn't expect much. I know that the location was Cork, Ireland though as that where the UK Applecare is based as far as I'm aware. The best thing to do is to call Applecare (if it's free) and discuss the issue. State that you are not happy wit the fact that you will have to pay to have the problem resolved especiiay if it is an ongoing problem that has not been resolved. I ended up speaking to a senior manager of the Applecare team who then proceeded to tell me about mailing in my grievence to customer services division or something like that.
If I can find the address I may post it if I'm allowed.
In the case of age, Schools usually have a 5-year life-cycle as they tend to be used differently than consumer machines, i.e. being used constantly on a daily basis for at least 12 hours with no break. you would expect issues to appear after a few years, but I expect problems that arise through defects to be resolved and stay resolved. As I mentioned we had machines for around 2 years before the lines appeared and sent them to be repaired. I'm happy with that. What I am unhappy about is the fact that the problem has reappeared exactly in the same way and now I'm left with around 7 machines that I either pay loads to repair or, the more likely replace the machines with newer ones since the age is now big enough to warrant the replacement.
Sorry for the lengthy moan, but these are the reasons I purchased Apple ahrdware in the first place to avoid the "not our problem" stance some PC vendors usually take, similar to the Dell monitors thread mentioned in here somewhere.

One is a Flash movie project and the other two a PDF files - you usually have them in your Finder window bar because you've dragged them to that location. You can get rid of them by selecting the icon with the Command key held down and drag them to the Desktop - poof! - they'll disappear.

I actually found it by myself. But thanks for your response. Not having used my danish version of Quark for 5 years makes finding options i dont usually use in indesign kind of hard. I won´t ever miss danish quark.

Stripes on screen - how to get rid of them?

Help! Since the day before yesterday, my Imac has been showing little stripes on the screen. They look like barcodes, and they're one pixel in width. I closed a diashow and then suddenly the stripes appeared. I don't know how to get rid of them. I've turned the mac off and on, I searched through preferences, changed resolution, nothing helped.

Check the Colors & Brightness settings.
My Color setting is set to Millions which I believe is the default setting.
Now click on the Color button.
Check Display Profile
Is Show profiles for this display only enabled or disabled?
If necessary click on the Calibrate button & do the necessary.
Now in the bottom right corner, click on the purple button w/the black ? mark in the middle. This will bring up the help window.
Midway down, click on the Colorsync Utility link.
The next window should be Profile First Aid.
Read & follow the instructions/details of About Profile First Aid: & do the necessary to Verify & Repair.

Settings/ Music/ Show All Music/ OFF
There is a parallel setting in Settings/ Videos/ which also includes Videos in the cloud, as well as Settings/ iTunes & App Store/ where you can set both Music and Video preferences. But you only need to change a setting in one location.

The problem, small square boxes showing on lines in Freetext Tool comments, is not limited to blank lines, as I originally reported here. These boxes are showing up at the end of every line. It does not matter if the line break is hard or soft, whether the line is empty or not.
Please read the original post bearing mind that the problem is occurring at the end of all lines.
Also - here is a screen capture of a part of one comment box, showing the square lines. I didn't show the entire box because the material above the area I'm showing is a tad private or confidential. Here is the image showing the boxes - note that there is no box at the end of the last line in the comment.

We have a copy of Acrobat 5.0. and up until now it has done what we need, which is not much more than adding bookmarks, links, and some touch up. I know it is very old and I know things change. I'm hoping this has nothing to do with the release we are using. I would think this would be a backward compatibility issue if it is a problem with newer Reader versions dealing with PDFs "edited" with 5.0.

I'm a programmer (37+ years in most all aspects of Data Processing) and I decided to learn the PHP programming "language" to add some server side processing to some of my web sites. So, I found a fairly good manual on PHP in PDF form and have been using it.
I quickly found that the PDF didn't have a single link in it and no bookmarks, so I've been adding them as I look up a particular subject. I'm also adding comments and notes to document things not in the original manual or to add comments that would help other programmers` (who know other languages) to adjust to PHPs' way of thinking - for example: in all the other languages I know (perhaps two dozen) to get rid of a file, you "delete" it. In PHP you "unlink" it.
I've added a lot of comments and notes like that and when I view the PDF in Reader (on this computer I have 9.4.2) I'm seeing small square boxes on empty lines. The lines were created when I pressed Enter twice to insert a blank line between paragraphs. (again, read the update at the top of this message - the boxes are at the end of all lines, soft break or hard break)
How can I get rid of them?
They are not present when I've got the PDF open with Acrobat, only when I'm using an Acrobat Reader.
They are also not present if I look at the comments using the Comments navigation panel - that is, they still show on the page, but they don't show in the copy of the comment displayed in the navigation panel.
They are not present in Notes or when I use one of the shape tools (Square Tool, Circle Tool, or Line Tool) to create notes. They are only present in Freetext Tool comments
They are clearly being show where there are successive line feed/carriage return characters - but how do I get rid of them?
I JUST THOUGHT OF SOMETHING - I realized that I'd not printed any of the pages on which I have placed comments and wondered if the boxes show when printing the PDF with Reader -- they do. They are not present if I use Acrobat, not a Reader, to print the same page.
Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
Please don't tell me to get a newer version - an expenditure like that is simply and totally out of the picture. For us, this is a Depression, not a Recession - we are self-employed and our businesses have been severely hammered since 2006 - we are down to about 1/4 of our income before the big guys trashed the economy.

P.S. Do you know that you can have a heart attack without chest pain, shortness of breath, or left arm pain? Well, you can! I've had two and the first one nearly killed me because I had no clue it was a heart attack. You can read about it first one here. Pass this on, it could save a life.
My second heart attack occurred on October 4, 20112 - it began, around 3:15 AM, as the first one did, with a headache. It turned out the stent implanted in 2002 had been completely clogged by too much tissue grown. The doctor put another stent inside the first one.

Problem Resolved - it is a font issue. Apparently Acrobat can't handle particular fonts and it is best to stick with a very small slection of fonts - Arial, Helvetica, Times Roman.
I haven't test a lot of fonts. If I do, I'll post there results here.

I've tried increasing the value for MULTI_VALUED_FIELD to varchar2(300) to varchar2(800) but there is no change in the records loaded.....
I'm really not sure whether the data file consist of any ascii characters...if there are any then how can I check or get rid of them...

Region parameter fades - how to get rid of them?

i have a strange behavior in logic 7.1.1
there is a track and i deleted audio regions lying in there
whenever i post new ones in there, old fades are still inside
how can i get rid of them?

Hello,
This is actually not strange behavior. If you used a cross fade between two audio files, BOTH now contain fade information, thus when you delete one audio region, the other region will still contain the cross fade information.
To get rid of fade information, select the region(s) its on and look in your regions parameter box for "fade start" and "fade end" values and set them to zero. I dont have logic in front of me right now, so sorry if its named something else.

There are 250 blank "new tabs" on startup. How to get rid of them withour closing them 1 by 1?

It is also possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the sessionstore.js [2] file and possible sessionstore-##.js [3] files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

Duplicate Groups and how to get rid of them

Somehow (maybe by having sync from iTunes and from MobileMe I have duplicate groups of calendars and contacs. With the same information in each group, I can't get rid of one set or the other. How can I do that and which one should I get rid of (if there's a choice)?

If you are syncing contacts and calendar events over the air with your MobileMe account on your iPhone, if you also sync contacts and calendar events direct with the Address Book and iCal on your Mac via the iTunes sync process, this does nothing but duplicate your contacts and calendar events on your iPhone.
Prior to firmware update 3.0, it wasn't possible to sync contacts and calendar events over the air with a MobileMe account and/or with an Exchange account and sync contacts and calendar events direct with a supported application on your computer via the iTunes sync process. Apple included the ability to do both primarily for those syncing business contacts and calendar events over the air with an Exchange account who also wanted to sync personal contacts and calendar events direct with a supported application on a personal computer at home via the iTunes sync process. When doing so, you can view business and personal contacts and calendar events combined or separately. When doing this with a MobileMe account, this does nothing but duplicate the contacts and calendar events on your iPhone.
To get rid of the duplicates, deselect sync contacts and calendar events direct with the Address Book and iCal on your Mac under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences followed by selecting Apply.
On your iPhone, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Select your MobileMe account.
Turn Contacts and Calendars off for over the air syncing.
A warning message will be provided indicating this will erase all contacts and calendar events downloaded from and kept synchronized with your MobileMe online address book and calendar along with an option to store this data locally on your iPhone. Decline the prompt to store this data locally on your iPhone.
This will not erase the contacts and calendar events on your iPhone that were synced direct with the Address Book and iCal on your Mac via the iTunes sync process.
Follow this by turning Contacts and Calendars back on for over the air syncing. You will be provided a merge prompt, which you want to select.
This will get rid of the duplicates on your iPhone.
