Ghost images in Browser windows

I now have may thousands of photos and iPhotos is struggling to cope. I am trying to use Aperture but find it very frustrating. Whenever I try and look at images on browser they are ghost images (just dotted lines around) and I can only see them if double click on ghost. This seems to happen whether or not I have imported the images into Aperture or left them where they are. Sometimes it says iPhoto original and shows nothing see attached screenshot
Any advice appreciated

I have also tried "Generating Thumbnails" and "Updating Preview" Neither had any effect.

  • 30" HD Apple Monitor leaving ghost images and vertical lines

I have a Mac Pro Gen 1 with ati 5770 HD video card runing Snow Leopard. My 30" HD Apple Monitor will flicker and leave verticle lines and perstent ghost images from closed windows, even during shut down.  Some times it will flicker back to normal, but then it will flicker back to leaving verticle lines and ghost images.  I have tried using a different video card, same issue, nothing changes.  I have tried instaling new video drivers and using old ones. I have been using the ati 5770 HD for months now without any issues.  How do I fix this?

If two different cards produce the same results then I would think its your 30" display which is failing.
    Update:
I just noticed in your sig you are using 10.6.8.  There are some threads about video problems (flickering, not sure about vertical lines) with 10.6.8 (google "10.6.8 flickering site:discussions.apple.com").  So if you boot from your installer dvd which presumably has an older version of OSX (10.6.4 maybe?) do you still see the display problems?
Another thought - would an smc and pram reset affect anything?  You might give it a try too.

  • Opening New Browser window for click event on an image

    hi all,
I want someone to help me out solving the problem of opening
a new browser window on the mouse click event of an image or a
button etc.... The new window would contain the datagrid details
from the main window, but in an expanded form. If at all there is a
solution, I even want to know whether there is anyway for sizing
the poped up window, because I dont want the new poped up window to
    cover the entire screen.
For getting better idea of my problem, the best example I
could give is the popup window that appears when we click on the
preview button while posting the message to the forum.
Someone please do help me out in this regard.
    Thanks,
    amar.

I'd definitely try to use a Flex popup... but the
flash.net.navigateToURL method is a simple way to open a popup
window in a new browser. You can pass any data needed by the new
page using the URLRequest and/or URLVariables. The URL you navigate
to could, of course, be another Flex application if necessary. I
use this only when I need to open a popup window on another site,
or an HTML formatter report or something similar.
Concerning yourself with the size of the popup window may be
a bad design choice also. I, for example, have my browser
configured to open all popups in a new tab regardless of sizing
constraints imposed by the designer. If it is absolutely necessary
for you to have control over the size of your popup window, you
should follow the advice given by others and use a Flex
    popup.

  • How do get a dynamic image to open in new browser window

I'm using DW CS3, mysql (MAMP)   OS 10.6.2   I'm designing my online store.  I need the customer to be able to click dynamic image/thumbnails to view a larger image in a new browser pop up window 400 x 400.  An example of this functionality can be seen at :
    http://www.designpublic.com/spot-on-square-roh-dresser
So far I can get the separate new browser window to open with the dynamic image, using the open new browser behavior, but the on click also advances to next page with the larger image. You have to press the back button to get back to the product page.  I want the customer to be able to see the product page , while viewing larger image, and then close larger image, and still have the product page open. I don't understand why 2 windows are opening.
    Thanks for the help people!

    Hi
I did look at it but, (and this is only my opinion, I do not like such effects) it is your decision.

  • How do I make a image stay at a certain point on a browser window?

So, I'm having this problem where the image I want to stay at a certain location based on my browser windows size (Not to be confused with "Persistent" images that float over all other content) The image in question is my lo
When I view the browser in a regular window size, it looks fine, I then maximize the browser window (The screen I am on is a 23" with a 1920x1080 resolution") and the image stays put versus adjusting it's location based on the new window size... It looks crazy odd on a full screened wide-screen monitor, especially with the logo now appears to be in the center of my navigation bar and no longer properly aligned with my content. A good example of the navigation I am using and of the effect I am trying to achieve is on this website. http://www.bungie.net
Notice how the logo, navigation icon and the search/sign in stay in the same location to the user based on the size of the browser window, How do I achieve this?
EDIT: Ah, I almost forgot, when I preview my site, the background image/footer stop about midway of the browser height in full screen, and it leaves a ugly blank space at the bottom of my page, how does one go about fixing this as well? The background is set to fill the browser window yet it doesn't???

Try pinning the object to the browser window - http://tv.adobe.com/watch/muse-feature-tour/muse-pin-objects-to-the-browser-window/.
Regarding your second issue, make sure you have your footer items marked as Footer and that you have Sticky Footer enabled in Page Properties - http://tv.adobe.com/watch/muse-feature-tour/muse-define-headers-and-footers/.

  • Dynamic position of an image at the right bottom of the browser window

    Dear Dreamweaver-community,
I'm trying to have an image positioned at the bottom right of a html-page. It is embedded in a table so that it doesn't interfere with the rest of the site's content (which it would if I simply used an absolute position). The height of the table is height=100% and I thought that this would make sure that if the browser window is being dragged smaller or bigger the image stays at the bottom right (just as the content stays centered if you set the width of a table to 100% and center it). But if you make the browser window higher the image won't keep sticking to the right bottom but will stay in one place while the rest of the page (bottom) is simply filled with the black background color. Do you have any ideas what I'm missing out on? Is there something like a valign-tag for a table or the page's body that dynamically keeps the image at the bottom right position no matter how you change the size of the window? I hope you can help me. Thank you!

  • Opening new browser window from image swaps

Hi all, does anyone know if it is possible to set a swapped

You would have to a) swap the image, and b) expose a

  • Any way to open new browser window without using image maps?

Is there any way to open new browser window without using image maps? My code works fine in Firefox, but not in IE. There are 2 problems in IE: 1st is that the thumbnail images move up within their own borders & 2nd that when you click on an image it does open up a new browser window, but also redirects to the index page (in this case it's just a placeholder index page - the new one I've called index_new.html for the time being).
    Here is the link:
    http://www.susieharperdesigns.com/gallery_beads.html
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Your missing a value on the HREF.  In your code you have this:
    <area shape="rect" coords="-24,-9,106,144" href=" " onclick="MM_openBrWindow('gallery_bead1.html','','width=255,height=360')" />
    </map></div>
    and it should be this:
    <area shape="rect" coords="-24,-9,106,144" href="javascript:void()" onclick="MM_openBrWindow('gallery_bead1.html','','width=255,height=360')" />
    </map></div>
If you fix the code on all your beads, it should work.

  • Help with image placement in new browser window.

I need help trying to position images that are being opened
in a new browser window. I have created a photo gallery with
thumbnails that are links to the larger image. Ive used the
behaviors panel to open the new image in a new browser window but
the image is always shown at the top left margins of the new
window. Is there a way to 1. center the image in the new window, 2.
change the background color of the new window that opens.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Stu

If, as I read it, you are simply opening the image, it will
    always be upper
left and cannot be changed. IF you wnat to position it, you
    will need to
create a new html page and position your image on that page,
    then call the
page, not the image from your thumbnail link.
In Dreamweaver in the command menu try the "Create Web Photo
    Album" command.
It will create all of your pages, links and thumbnails for
    you. (requires
    Fireworks)

  • Full browser window placeholder that acts like background image fill?

I want to be able to set full browser window placeholder that acts like the background image fill function, but be able to then build in a multi-anchored horizontal parallax.  The effect is like we have a background image fill, but can slide horizontally between pages as if they are in a slide show.  Simultaneously, content inside the placeholder such as longer paragraphs of text can scroll down - on top of the image layer, but inside the borders of the image placeholder.  For a clear example of this, see this website: http://argonautinc.com/
I've read and searched but to no avail.  I'm only about one week into Muse, so please forgive me if this is  super simple!   Thanks, Nico

    Hi Nico_Cineaste,
You can achieve the design by using Fullscreen Slideshow in MUSE as object.
Open any page in MUSE , click on the "Object" >> Slideshow >> Fullscreen.
Click on your blank web page.
This will give you a full screen slideshow.
You can now design as per your requirement.

to get a quick view of various images or html files, I like simply dragging the files from my local drive into a Firefox browser window.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Making pop-up image always appear within browser window

In my CS3 CSS site I want to have images which are only revealed when the user runs their mouse over a photo icon. I've worked out how to make the AP div, which contains the show-hide image, appear in the same position relative to the left margin of my text container div but can't seem to control where they are vertically. As they are absolutely positioned, I know that they will, in theory, always remain in the place where I have positioned them (although this appears to vary greatly from browser to browser) but this causes problems if, for example, I place them above the icon and the viewer happens to rollover the icon while it is near the top of their browser window - the photo can't be seen. Can I make the image's vertical position relative to the browser window, whatever its size, or make sure it always appears within the browser window?! I've tried setting margin top and bottom to auto but that doesn't seem to work in the same way that it does for margin right and left. An example is on this page http://www.ernestcooktrust.org.uk/Contact_biogs/biogs_trustees.html . At the moment the images are set to appear above the icon of the person they are referring to. Or is there a better way then show/hide AP divs to achieve this? Many thanks in advance for any (not too technical please) help.

suggestions? The help is greatly appreciated.

Did you see my previous extensive reply?
Suggestion 1: it's a bad idea to use file/pathnames that
    contain spaces (or
any punctuation other than hyphen or underscore) like this -
    background-image: url(../images/IW%20background%20file2.jpg);
    ../images/top row/toppic3.jpg'
    -----------------^
Suggestion 2: The indent icons are NOT appropriate for
    general layout. The
have a SEMANTIC meaning (what is contained within them should
    be quoted
    material)....
    <blockquote>
    <p><a href="#" onmouseout="MM_swapImgRestore()"
Suggestion 3: When you want help with a layout problem, the
    best bet is to
upload the offending page and post a link to it, rather than
    to just paste
    the code into a reply.
Suggestion 4: All layout problems are related to a) the HTML
    markup you have
on the page, and perhaps b) the CSS that cascades into that
    markup. Most of
the answers given here will be given referencing HTML/CSS
    markup. To
understand the answers that are given, you will need to have
    some
understanding of HTML and CSS (and you will *definitely* need
    this to work
    effectively with DW). So -
The images across the top of your page are simply adjacent
    image tags
contained within anchor tags, which are all contained within
    a single
paragraph tag, within a blockquote tag, directly within the
    body of the
    page, e.g.,
    <body>...<blockquote><p><a><img></a><a><img></a><a><img></a><p>
The <blockquote> tag is a block tag. A block tag fills
    the width of its
container, whatever that might be. This <blockquote>
    tag, therefore, will
therefore reach from the left page margin to the right page
    margin, because
it is only contained within the <body> tags - i.e.,
    there is no container
wrapping the <blockquote> other than the
    <body></body> tags. As the browser
viewport width changes, the space between the page's left and
    right margins
changes concommitantly, reducing or enlarging the amount of
    space in which
the <blockquote> tag sites. Thus, the effective width
    of the blockquote tag
is affected immediately by the browser viewport width. In a
    similar
fashion, the <p> tag, also a block tag, changes its
    width to accommodate the
flexing of the viewport window. Since the images are just
    arrayed in
adjacent locations within that <p> tag, if the width of
    the <p> tag is less
than the aggregate width of the images, then the images will
    wrap to the
    next line.
Is that the "motion" you are seeing? If so, it's unrelated to
    the
incidental fact that the page is also made from a Template.
You can fix this with a bludgeon or a scalpel.
Bludgeon: Use CSS to give that <p> tag an explict
    width, and to set overflow
    to hidden, e.g.,
    <p style="width:969px;overflow:hidden;">....
    Scalpel: Redesign the page layout....
    Hope that helps.
