GIF files not published

Hi, I have just imported a project from RoboHelp 5 into ROBOHelp 8. The project upgraded fine. When I publish to Robo8server my *.gif images are not published, jpgs work fine. Thank you in advance
Rich

Things to check:
1. Are the images in the output files if opened locally?
2. Are the images on the server?
3. What is the path to the images?
Post back and we'll go from there.

  • GIF files not being cached for toolbar (WEB Forms)

    I realized that the GIF files we are using
    in our toolbars are not being cached by the
    browser. I analyzed the file XLF.LOG and
    the files always have access code "200"
    (not cached). The file REGISTRY.DAT has
    the same problem. Only the JAR file has
    access code "304" (cached). Although these
    GIF files are small (~900 bytes), it takes
    many seconds to open each form when someone
    executes our application using a low speed
    line (many of our forms have toolbars
    with more than 30 icons). Is there any
    special configuration I have to do or this
    will be corrected in future versions?

  • Jpg and gif files not showing up on recipient's email

    When I attach photos on an email sent from whichever email address through my Mail Application (the one that comes with all Mac OS), sometimes people using AOL or other mail servers don't even see the files. Usually, I think all the problems are with jpg, pdf, and gif files and not .doc files or any text files. they seem to see the text files without any problems. So then Im forced to go to my gmail through safari and attach one by one. Honestly, I find the click and drag en masse of the files I want as attachments much easier, but I want to know how and what is the reason that some servers continuously cannot see my files. Sometimes they see the files as I attach them, meaning as photos on the actual email. And they get confused and don't know how to download them because they say that on the email application they use (gmail for example) there is nowhere where it says download attachments. What is going on and what can I do on my mail application to change this. its really frustrating because my work makes me email lots of photos and sometimes this problem is extremely cumbersome and annoying

    Some email readers have trouble with enclosures (particularly graphics) from within an email that is formatted as Rich Text. If you format your mail as Plain Text (see the Format menu) then I expect they will see the enclosures.

  • .gif files not displaying right

    For some reason when I import my .gif files they have ragged
    edges, even if the files themselves have smooth edges. I'm not
    really sure why it is doing this because the files look fine in
    other applications. Does anyone have any idea why it does this or
    how I can fix it?

    It could be that you need to save the gif with a Matt the
    same color as the background of the flash file. But you might as
    well use PNG format. It works really well with flash.

  • GIF files not loading from jar in Netscape

    Hi,
    I have a jar file that contains my applet code(class files) and a bunch of gif files. I load the image using the URL returned from getCodeBase() method. The images load fine in Explorer but they do not show up in Netscape. The class files and gif files are not in separate directories and getCodeBase is returning the correct URL of my server(Example: http://www.myserver.com). Does anyone know how to fix this? I also noticed that download time did not improve on either browser when I bundled all the gif file in the jar rather than place them outside the jar file. Isn't bundling them in the jar supposed to save multiple requests back to the server to get the gifs and thus reduce download time? Thanks in advance.

    There the sample from Netscape: http://developer.netscape.com/docs/technote/java/getresource/getresource.html#classloader

  • Gif file not found in JAR from Java Application

    Hello Forumers,
    Could some one please explain how to create a JAR file from where I can get a GIF file. I have tried a number of different ways but it allways fails. (I have tried to add the GIF files using the jar command and I have tried to add it using WinZip after the jar is created).
    To isolate the problem I created this very simple program, the program works very well when the gif file resides on the directory from where I run the Application, but when I remove it from the directory it fails. I have tried to put the GIF file in the JAR in a number of different ways but it allways fails. (I have also tried with and without slash before the name of the GIF). I guess the problem is the way I create the JAR file
    import java.io.*;
    public class GifTest
    { public static void main(String args[])
    { InputStream in = GifTest.class.getResourceAsStream("/open.gif");
    if (in==null)
    System.out.println("Null returned");
    else
    System.out.println("OK");
    Any Hints appreciated
    /Kjell

    Hi,
    here is a small application using my own class GetImageIcon.
    Normally I have this "help-class" in a utility-package to use it from all my projects without copying. For this example I copied the code in the test application. Feel free to use the code of the class like you want. For me it works fine.
    Do the following:
    1. Create a folder called /meta-inf under the folder where the class-files are. Use a text-editor and create a file saved as "manifest.mf".
    manifest.mf tells the jar-file which is the main-class from where the application will start when double-clicked.
    It only has to contain one line:
    Main-Class: GifTest
    2. Compile and create the jar file. I made a bat-file containing:
    javac -verbose GifTest.java
    %pause
    REM Create Jar-File
    jar cmf meta-inf/manifest.mf GifTest.jar *.class *.gif
    REM Show Table of Content of the Jar-File
    jar tf GifTest.jar
    %pause
    So you can see what's in the jar-file.
    3. When you double-click on the jar-file the application is executed. So it is easier to use for the users. They don't have to type in anything on the command-line. You can deploy this jar-file to any client and run it. The only thing you have to do, is to install the JRE on the clients.
    I develop with JDK 1.3.1 and JRE 1.3.1 is installed on the clients of the company I work for.

    Hi Sathya,
    It may be that your services are not active.
    Go to transaction code SICF and look (do a search) for the following:
    Services UR and SEM_UPWB. They should be bold. If not, right-click and select activate in order to activate them.

  • Flash file not publishing

    Flash newbie here. I've created a flash file, and the intrux
    suggest to save, check the Publish Settings that they are correct,
    and then click okay. (Okay, I've done this numerous times
    ) I then click on "Publish", but instead of getting
    the next dialog box, the dialog box flashes briefly (pun
    unintended) on the screen, and then disappears. The file(s) show up
    in the Dreamweaver files palette however. I've tried uploading the
    file.swf and the file.html, but the browser only displays a broken
    gif. The animation tests okay in the <Control><Test
    Movie> exercise, so what am I doing wrong to have the publish
    dialog box display for a split second and then disappear?
    Thanks in advance,
    Michael

    Please ask in the Flash forum, this forum is for discussions
    about the SWF
    format and open solutions, not about flash (the authoring
    tool). You'll get

  • Animated gif files not working in FF5 ok in every other browser

    Hi .
    I am having problems getting animated gifs to play in firefox 5 i am using a photo gallery script to show these files it works in every other browser i have access to (most of them on Linux and windows Xp and win7 ) if i use FF5 as a file manager and navigate to the files they run but not from a web page this is only with firefox 4 and 5 not got previous to 4 to test .

    Right . this looks like it may be a problem with the way FF5 is handling various methods of viewing images i use the following code .
    <pre><nowiki><a class="thumbnail" href="#thumb"><img src="photos/IMG_7039 EOS-1D Mark III copy.jpg" width="100px" height="75px" border="0"><span><img src="photos/Animations/IMG_7039 EOS-1D Mark III copy.gif"></span></a></nowiki></pre>
    along with css .
    <pre><nowiki>(
    .gallerycontainer{
    position: relative;
    /*Add a height attribute and set to largest image's height to prevent overlaying*/
    .thumbnail img{
    border: 1px solid blue;
    margin: 0 5px 5px 0;
    .thumbnail:hover{
    background-color: transparent;
    .thumbnail:hover img{
    border: 1px solid blue;
    .thumbnail span{ /*CSS for enlarged image*/
    position: fixed;
    background-color: lightyellow;
    padding: 5px;
    left: -600px;
    border: 1px dashed gray;
    visibility: hidden;
    color: black;
    text-decoration: none;
    .thumbnail span img{ /*CSS for enlarged image displays the large image*/
    border-width: 4;
    padding: 12px;
    .thumbnail:hover span{ /*CSS for enlarged image*/
    visibility: visible;
    top: 0;
    left: 230px; /*position where enlarged image should offset horizontally */
    z-index: 50;
    )</nowiki></pre>
    to create the gallery now if i navigate directly to the dir with the gif images in they work ok but if i use the gallery method they fail .
    Tried safe mode no addons no change ..

  • GIF files not shown ? how to find duplicates ?

    I have Photoshop Album Starter Edition (PSASE 3.0)
    1) PSE is not showing GIF images, it shows only JPG
    It only searches for images in MyPictures, but I have images in many other folders also.
    2) I would like to find dupes, how do I proceed ?

    PSASE detects duplicates automatically when you are importing images. The images that are already imported and are present in the catalog are reported as duplicates and are not imported again.
    Also, PSASE plays files of most common video formats. Please let us know the filename extensions of the video files you are trying to play.

  • .Gif files not supported

    Hi I was wondering if you could help me with a new presentation I am making. I am relativity new to ae and am getting annoyed when importing .gif ('s) as I am being told they are damaged or unsupported. Could really do with your help on trying to fix my problem.
    Thanks - Tom

    Convert them to something AE can use in an image manipulation program. XnView is free as are IrfanView and GIMP.
