GIF is ridiculously slow on web despite looking fine in PS?

Gif in question: http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2014/343/9/d/stop_by_chexxie-d8998ug.gif
There's 26 frames, each 'blinking' frame is set to no delay (only ones with delay are the first frame and the frame inbetween, the 10th frame)
I have no idea what to do or how to speed it up, can someone please help me out? ; ~ ;

We, several people I know, have been experiencing the same thing in a small town in Massachusetts, CSRs do the usual "reset the router" song and dance but it either doesn't work or coincides with the network returning to normal for other folks who don't do a thing ... other than monitor pings to Google as you did, which showed approx >  95% packet loss but not 100% and DNS resolving seemed unaffected, unless its using a locally cached routing table on the router itself (??no idea if Gen 2 routers do this)
Last occurrence for us was Feb 25th from 9:50 - 10:45 AM EST.
We're trying to organise the information we have to present to VZ to ask them to explain how 3 or possibly many more of their routers suffer identical issues at identical times, since they are reluctant to admit to what seems a  broader issues on their network, or are simply unaware that their network appears to be  massively throttled for residential users at seemingly arbitrary times of the day.

  • Design View suddenly incorrect, Web view looks fine

I uploaded my site and, after doing so, shut down Dreamweaver. The next day, when I opened it again, my pages in Design View looked completely wrong.  The code seems to be fine and when I preview the pages in Google Chrome they look perfect; all the links work, it's all laid-out correctly. I am semi-new to all this; I need to be able to update the site but don't want to risk uploading over a now usable website and render it unusable.
If you need screenshots, let me know, but basically, design view is not being reliable (at all) right now.
Looked at the other post showing same problem but it didn't seem to relate.
I am using Dreamweaver CS3 with Windows XP Home Edition.

As Bregent says, you have an unclosed div, hence the problem with the page.   Other couple of errors you may want to fix as well.  Putting the page through a validator always helps to find initial problems  :-)

If you use the Firefox browser (which you should to check your pages), there is a toolbar add on that you can download, that includes a a validator tool that checks your pages directly from your own computer without having to upload the pages as you work.

  • My web page looks fine in Safari, not in Firefox...?

    Hi!
When I look at my website ( http://www.visitnafplio.net ) in Safari, it displays the pages just as I made them in iWeb, but in Firefox stuff keeps moving to the wrong pages.
I've asked a couple of friends to check it on their computers, and they have the same result.
Can someone please tell my why, and if there is anything to do about this? The page is in Norwegian, but if you check for instance this page http://www.visitnafplio.net/visitnafplio.net/Nafplio/Nafplio.html
you can se that the date under each sub-heading is hidden in Safari (as they should be), but not so in Firefox.
    Thank you for any help!

    Nobody?
The problem is mainly that I have added small squares in the background colour to hide the date from the blog entries (it is not a blog). These squares don't stay in their right place in Firefox. If I could hide the dates in some other way the problem would be solved.
I see other people in the forum are having the same problem, and the answers (something about .ccs-files) was totally Greek to me. I can't even find these files.
    Yes, I'm an idiot

  • Why is my macbook air running slow while web browsing, why is my macbook air running slow while web browsing

a few days ago my macbook pro that i recently purchesed for christmas started running really slow while web browsing. I looked at all the memory and all that and it was fine. any advice?

Please answer as many of the following questions as you can. You may already have answered some of them. In that case, there's no need to repeat the answers.
Have you restarted your router and your broadband device (if they're separate) since you first noticed the problem? If not, do that now and see whether there's any change.
If your browser is Safari, then from the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    and confirm. Any change?
Quit and relaunch the browser. Any change?
Log out and log back in. Any change?
Enable Private Browsing in the Safari menu. Any change?
Are any other web browsers installed, and are they the same? What about other Internet applications, such as iTunes and the App Store?
If other browsers and Internet applications are also affected, follow these instructions and test. Any change?
If only Safari is affected, launch the Activity Monitor application and enter "web" (without the quotes) in the search box. If a process named "Safari Web Content" is shown in red or is using more than about 5% of a CPU, select it and force it to quit by clicking the X or Quit Process button in the toolbar of the window. There may be more than one such process. Any improvement?
Again, if only Safari is involved, open the iCloud preference pane and uncheck the box marked Safari, if it's checked. Any change?
Are there any other devices on the same network that can browse the Web, and are they affected?
If you can test Safari on another network, is it the same there?
If you connect to your router with Wi-Fi and you can also connect with Ethernet, do that and turn off Wi-Fi. Any difference?

  • Ridiculously slow performance with WRT320N

Hello all.  My name is Ben Herrmann.  I'm running a Windows 7 64 Bit machine and am using a Motorola cable modem.  I have the WRT320N wireless router attached.  My PC is connected via ethernet cable to the machine - but the other two laptops are connected via wireless to the router.
Normally, my connection speed when connected to the Motorola modem ranges anywhere from 15,000 to 21,000 kbps.  I have North Carolina Road Runner service Turbo Boost and just with that setup my download speeds are awesome.
However, with the WRT320N router attached, my internet and download speeds have screeched to a whoppingly slow 978 to 1100 kbps.  I realized that adding a router may slow things down a bit - but not by this shocking level.
What am I doing wrong?  I set up everything the way it was supposed to be.  I even installed the the LinkSys Easy Advisor software.  The Cable company can't help me because on their end, things are coming to me at high speed.  So it's obviously the router.
How do I install firmware (if it needs it)?  How do I determine what my current firmware is?  Lots of questions here - but short of an answer, I'm just ready to "can" this router and go out and look for something better.
    Thanks in advance...
    Ben Herrmann

Well, I took a chance and contacted LinkSys tech support. But this guy was extraordinary.
Prior to contacting tech support, my download speeds with the router attach ranged between 512 and 950 kbps - a ridiculously slow speed considering I'm on a high speed cable network.  But after he was finished messing with my settings (he took control of my PC), he got my download speeds up to 22,000 - 25,000 kbps - the same speed I was getting if I just had my cable modem (and no router).
So I'm very, very appreciative to his support and I never envisioned getting these types of speeds with a router attached.

  • On Google Chrome the Adobe edge web font looks fuzzy and broken-up. Is there a way to fix this?

I have created a website with Adobe Muse and I am using an adobe edge web font that looks great on all browsers except for google Chrome... On chrome the font looks fuzzy and broken-up. Is there a way to fix this??? Thanks.

    Thank you Sanjit,
I have redone the site using using the font TREBUCHET. The font that I was using that was giving me the problem was EXO which is an Adobe Edge Web font. I'd rather use EXO... Here is a screen shot of a sample page, areas where the type looks especially messed up are circled in red.
This only happens when opened in Google Chrome on a Windows PC. However it looks fine with Chrome on my MAC.

how do a get a refund on a ridiculously slow downloading rented movie for my apple tv dispite a >5mb/sec down load speed? my first experience with appletv movie rental. no good. rented at 4:30pm. still waiting for standard def movie to finish at 8:10pm. Not good enough.

Thanks for the pointers folks. Yeah, 1.5GB is pretty poor isn't it? There are other suppliers, but you have to get a their phone line installed to access the internet so it's an £85 setup fee plus a day off work for a guy to come round and drill a hole in your wall before you even get to the monthly costs.
Don't get me wrong though - I'm certainly not an Apple basher, but am equally frustrated with both them and the ISP.
Virgin Media spend all kinds of money advertising their broadband as the fastest in the UK, but don't tell you (up front anyway) that you'll be cut off if you actually try and use it.
Apple on the other hand carry on with their 'it just works' mantra, but with Apple TV this only applies if you meet certain criteria (again, not mentioned up front).
I guess it aint a biggie, as i was gifted my Apple TV, and love all the other stuff it does, but from the number of posts on this forum can see that there's a lot of angry customers out there who want explanations as to why they're having similar problems to me.
Will be very interesting to see if Apple release any kind of software update that turns the flash drive from a buffer to permanent storage, to at least ease some of the pain...

It just does't sync. I connect it to itunes, but nothing happens. Where it says how much space I have, it's just on ebig bar that says other. I can play my music on itunes, but not when i unplug it.
All of my photos were gone, i took and saved them with my ipod.

  • Slow DNS web resolution

I've noticed the DNS resolution for web services on our network has become a little slow.
The log is showing the below (for example):
success resolving 'www.jamesallenonf1.com/A' (in 'jamesallenonf1.com'?) after reducing the advertised EDNS UDP packet size to 512 octets
Any ideas what this could be caused by and if it would explain the slowing of web page resolution?
    Thanks

Thanks - that was useful as was the below quote:
    Quote by: MacTroll
Your DNS server is attempting to use DNS-SEC, for validated DNS lookups. This requires a larger UDP packet size, >512 bytes, than your firewall seems to like. It then has to wait to both decide it needs to reduce packet size /and/ to get a negative result on the lookup.
I would imagine that the DNS resolver on OS X client doesn't bother to do a DNS-SEC lookup, and hence no issue.
This was evident in another line of the log:
    host unreachable resolving 'I.ROOT-SERVERS.NET/AAAA/IN': 198.41.0.0#53
I created a rule in the hardware firewall to forward port 53 to the SLS and its running fine now with no errors.

  • Why do web pages look slightly blurred on Mac?

I have a Mac Mini and a PC with XP on the same monitor, (using a kvm). Almost every web page I view looks better on the pc then the mac. On the mac, the fonts appear thinker and slightly blurred. the same web page on the pc is much sharper and clearer. Both use Firefox and res is the same on both 1280 x 1024. Even Apple's own site looks better on the pc! I've checked, and the same font's are installed on both. I've connected the Mac directly to the monitor, just in case it was the kvm, but no difference. I've also checked on other Mac's (albeit with larger screens), web pages look clearer on them.
Why does a mac, supposedly renowned for its graphics, not display as well as a PC? Monitor is Belinea 19" flatscreen.

  • RAW to Jpeg quality looks fine in Aperture not so good on Web page

I am using the latest version of Aperture with the Retina display. The Raw images look tremendous, after I resize the image and save it to jpeg the image still looks good. When I upload to a web page the image looks horrible. There is a lot of noise and the image over all looks blurred. I open it in Aperture and it looks fine. What is the issue? I have tried the different settings when saving the image and nothing works. I have also saved the image in a tif format and still the same issue. Looks great in aperture not so great on the web. Please help if possible.

Your site is likely re-sampling your file, perhaps because it is too large.  Ask the Webmaster what size and quality to make the JPGs, and export to that.  There may also be a browser issue.
If you provide some details re: exactly how your are exporting, which site you are using, how the JPG is used, etc., someone here may be able to provide additional guidance -- but this seems to be a Web question, as Aperture -- from what you say -- is working well for you.

  • Fireworks CS4 to CS6 - is there a setting that needs to be adjusted so that web pages look right in

Fireworks CS4 to CS6 - is there a setting that needs to be adjusted so that web pages look right in Internet Explorer?  I was in the middle of creating pages with Fireworks CS4 and exporting them to Dreamweaver CS4 and publishing them to the website. Those pages looked fine. Then I upgraded to CS6 and the pages  look fine in  Fireworks, Dreamweaver and when I preview them "live" in Chrome but not Internet Explorer. Anyone know why?  Also, with upgrading the software I upgraded to a new computer.  Any and all suggestions are welcomed.  Thanks!

Most likely caused by a missing document type declaration (DTD).  Truth is, the HTML code generated by graphics apps is not web worthy.  It's really only intended for quick mock-ups to show a client before you rebuild everything with CSS & HTML code in Dreamweaver.

  • Web sites look "off"

Hey just a quick question that's probably been asked before, how come when I view a page in safari it looks fine and then when i view it in firefox or on a pc it's a little bit off? Is there an way for this to not happen? When I design a site should i just preview it in firefox?
    Thanks!

All browsers behave slightly differently, the key to getting a perfect or acceptable result in all browsers can only be learned with experience & practice.
I've been designing & programming websites professionally for around 8 years & I still have trouble sometimes.
Generally Safari & Firefox are the best to test with as they are almost always behave the same as long as your html & css are valid (http://www.w3schools.com/site/site_validate.asp)
Validate your code & you will be a lot closer to clearing up any problems.
IE has always been a problem as it does not conform to web standards, however, that said, the latest versions of IE are a whole lot better now.
If you are using a program such as Dreamweaver, Frontpage, iWeb etc to build a website & not actually coding in html then you will never really solve every problem - the only way to do that is learn & understand html, css & how it works.
