Gif with white background

I am trying to export an animated gif for a web banner on our homepage. The background is supposed to be white but everytime I export via AME it the background looks slightly blue. Not sure what to do.
The colour space is sRGB 8 bit so that would seem to be fine to me...

I figured it out myself. I exported my AE comp as a png sequence , imported into Photoshop then saved the gif out of there.
Cheers.

  • Animated gif with transparent background

When I import in Keynote an animated gif with transparent background. The background becomes white. I did the following tests:
If I extract a single image from the animated gif and import it in keynote the background is actually transparent but it becomes white when I import the whole gif.
I also checked with other applications (NeoOffice) and the animated gif does come out with a transparent background.
Do I do something wrong in Keynote ?

This has been an ongoing issue for me since I switched from Powerpoint to Keynote. Most of the animated gifs with transparent backgrounds that I used with Powerpoint are no longer transparent in Keynote. You may want to search for those earlier threads on this topic...
To summarize: I've had to open up my animated gifs in After Effects and use the Color Key effect to restore transparency, with mixed success.
    Good luck!

  • Print 3D PDF document with white background

    Hi!
Is it possible to print a view from 3D PDF document with white background?
I could not find any possibilty to change the grey background color, neither in the standard preferences nor in the print options...
    Thanks for your help!
    Kind regards,
    Mark

    Hi,
As you experienced all DIALOG function modules will not work in Batch because the is no connection with a frontend (PC).
You have to get your PDF on a server so you can process them in Batch.
Maybe you can than use the FM: ALINK_DOCUMENTS_CREATE_FILE
    Success,

  • PNGs showing up with white backgrounds

    Hello.
This is very odd as this has never happened to any of my other files that use the same buttons. My pngs that are saved with transparent backgrounds are now showing up with white backgrounds. They also only show up with white backgrounds when you do one of the following:
Press F8 to preview the file
    Publish the file
Has anyone else ever had a similar experience and/or figured out a solution? I have searched the discussion board for similiar experiences...I found one...http://forums.adobe.com/thread/86092. I'm going to play around with "interlace" in Photoshop so I'll keep my fingers crossed. I have also ensured my graphics are smaller than the background--one graphic is an 8kb file and the other is a 13kb file and my background is 112 kb.
Any solutions and/or thoughts are greatly appreciated.

hello nyartist, this has nothing to do with quirks mode - it's just the default way that standalone image files are displayed in firefox...

jpg and pdf formats don't support transparency. You need to use a format such as tif, png or psd that does.

    Hi,
    Please try this--
    1. Quit the CC Desktop application by clicking on the 'Tools' icon (top-right) and choosing quit from the drop-down.
    2. Go to C:\Users\<username>\AppData*\Local\Adobe  and rename OOBE folder to OOBE.old.
    Launch CC Desktop application again.
    *AppData is a hidden folder.
    Let me know the outcome.

  • Using animated gifs with transparent background.

    Hi guys,
    Keynotes 6.2.
I have been onto apple support with this problem.
I add a transparent animated gif to my project.
It show as a movie correctly in the presentation but when exported as quicktime or HTML the movies fail.
We eventually found out that quicktime does not support animated gifs. ( support.apple.com/kb/ht3775 )
So I exported the animation onto a folder with all the frames separately and brought them into final cut pro.
I then followed these tutorials on how to export with transparent background. ( http://provideocoalition.com/mspencer/video/fcp-x-and-alpha-channels and http://www.larryjordan.biz/fcp-export-transparency ).
I now have a quicktime movie that if I bring back into Final Cut Pro it has a transparent background.
However when I bring into keynotes it still has a black background. (presumably keynotes does not recognise the  Apple Prores 444).
Any ideas how I can achieve what I need. ?
I am using a program called crazytalk animator and can output with transparent background. Animated Gif or a series of image stills BMP, JPEG, TGA or PNG.
    Cheers

  • How to draw centre line with white background?

    Hi,
I need to draw a centre line with white background on it. Now i'm doing it by pasting the main line in the background and giving it white so that it shows a white backgound. Is there a way to do just by drawing like normal lines. If we can, is it possible to control the white backgound only to show less than the original line in both ends. This is for illustrations i do for exploding views and i need to draw this line to show it as assembly drawing.
    Thanks
    Manoj

    1. Draw a white line segment of desired width (stroke weight) with round cap (Stroke panel) for the background line.
    2. Copy, Paste in Front
    3. Change to desired foreground color, butt cap, reduce stroke weight.
    4. Opt/Alt–drag foreground segment to overhang background segment by desired amount on both ends.
    5. Select both segments and drag to Brushes panel, choose Art Brush.
    6. In Art Brush Options choose Stretch Between Guides, drag guides somewhere to the inside of curve of round caps. (If in step 3 you chose black, set Colorization Method to Tints. Then you can select any color for the foreground segment by setting the stroke color.) Name the brush as you choose. Click OK.
    7. Draw any path and apply the brush.

  • Photo template with white background #ffffff appears gray online, using Photoshop CS5.

Aloha! I am stumped with this and need your help.
Here's what I want to do: Create a seamless white border around my photo on a white background (blog post area is white). I am using Photoshop CS5.
I've tried saving the file as PNG, GIF, and JPG but all appear as gray in the area I want as white.
Photo below is how my image appears on a white background. The area surrounding the photo and behind the word "example" is the gray area that is white #ffffff on PS but appears otherwise when posted online (my blog on Blogger).
The top image is a PNG file, the bottom is a GIF. The GIF is slightly better but still gray. I would like the surrounding area to be pure white so it just blends into the white background (post area).
This is the image I see on PS, it is white in the areas surrounding the center photo, this is how I intend the final image to look like:
I've even chosen my background (while creating a new document) as white for the background color. I've even tried a transparent background but all that did was make it worse and turn the transparent background to black when I post the image online.
Here's a screen capture of my layers (not sure if this info is necessary but I do need help).
If anyone would like to help me with this I'd really appreciate your assistance.  Thank you so much!!

Mylenium, I went back in and took screen shots of what I found according to your article. I finally found color settings.
And as for "view", I couldn't find this part in your article: View--Proof Setup enable Monitor RGB and make sure Proof Colors is enabled."
This is a capture of what I find:
Where do I check off under Proof Setup?
    Thanks again!

  • Gif with clear background not working

Ok, so I have to do a workshop that I have done numerous times before through Keynote. I upgraded to Keynote 08. Now, any .gif file that is in my presentation has a solid white background. I get my files from animationfactory.com and they have clear backgrounds. I have downloaded and reinserted, yet i still get a solid white background. When I open it in the old Keynote there are no solid white backgrounds. Anyone know if this is a bug or if it can be fixed??

Ok, a little more information, but still no solution. It's coming in as a QuickTime movie, BUT it seems there may be something different about how the iWork apps do transparency now. Previously, (since this still works in iWork '06) they may have performed the transparency themselves. Now it appears that it's adhering to the transparency/mask that's in QuickTime and QT doesn't have the right info...
If you've got QuickTime Pro, you can play around with the transparency settings, but I haven't gotten too far with those for animated objects. For non-animated, if you convert the non-white portion to a solid black shape, you should get the effect you want, BUT it'd have to be done for EACH .gif. I'm going to check to see if these graphics will then work in iWork '06.
Annd, yes, it will work. I'm hoping something comes up in the interim that allows the regular .gif's to work. (Just to clarify -for myself LOL!- Because I can create a QuickTime masked gif that DOES work as expected perhaps QuickTime needs to read this info from the .gif when importing it and place it as the mask)

  • Can't open gif with transparent background?

Hey everyone, I'm just having a little issue with Photoshop at the moment.
I keep trying to open up some animated gifs that have transparent backgrounds, because I want to edit them and delete some frames . I know for a fact that the backgrounds are transparent because I've hosted them on websites before.
Now, when I try to open up the gifs, i go to: import> video frames to layers> type in *.* > open gif
The gifs ALWAYS open up with a white background. Is there any way around this so they open with the transparent background? Could I try opening them a different way maybe?
    Thanks in advance

GIFs do not have genuine transparency. Only a specific color in teh palette is tagged as being transparent on saving, and that is done in Save for Web. You are misunderstanding how the file format works and the behavior is therefore otherwise correct. Your only option to preview that transparency in PS would be to edit the color palette under Image --> Mode --> Color Table or convert to RGB mode and remove the fill using selections. Anyway, moot point. No matter how you do it, you cannotr circumvent teh file format's limitations.

  • How to export animated gif with transparent background and glow effect?

I've been having issues lately with creating animated gifs in flash. I finally figured out a way to export a gif with a transparent background but I'm now having an issue with it again because I'm using a glow effect. When the gif is exported the glow effect changes into a very poor quality and becomes less of a glow and more like a solid color. I've even exported a png sequence from flash and put it into photoshop then created a gif from there but I'm still having the same issue. Is there anyway I can properly export this in gif form so the quality is the same as when I test it in flash?
I've provided an image of what my issue looks like and the settings (I've messed around with the settings and this is the best I can come up with) . This is in photoshop but the result is similar in flash. The left one is what it originally looks like and the right is what it will look like after exporting. As you can see as I said before the glow changes into more of a solid color kind of like a border. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

A GIF is limited to 256 colors while a glow effect likely wants to tie up thousands (let's just say 'lots') of variations of tone.

  • Open PDFs with white background

How can I get PDFs to open in PS CS3 with a white background?

Once open, you can add a white background layer or you can flatten.
PDF files can contain transparency so a white background might be a modification that can only be done after the file is opened.

  • How to change pdf (with dark background) so it print with white background and dark text??

I have lots of nice presentations I am studying- the problem is most of them were made in ppt with dark backgrounds and white text then converted to pdf files. So when I print them, I get a dark (black) background with white text- very annoying. Is there anyway to get it to print with a light (or no) backround with black text? This is much easier for note taking/etc. I have adobe acrobat professional.

Use the rectangle shape tool. Draw a rectangle over the entire frame. In the shape tab, color it whatever you want. Export your TGA sequence.
    Andy
PS: But if you place a colored bkg in your motion project that you will effectively have no alpha channel. Are they referencing the TGA's alpha?
