so i had a nano, but got a video for christmas along with two gift cards. i opened itunes store and looked around and it was a little slow but doing fine, but then i try and go to redeem my gift cards, at first when i entered it it was telling me a error, but now it won't even let me get to where you enter it, it's telling my "we cannot compleate you request at this time or something like that, and it's also happening when i go to look at my account. help please! i was just thinking maybe wait till tomorrow but i really have no clue.

I have a Taiwanese itunes account and i bought a gift card in australia (I live in Australia) and i know that i need to get an australian itunes account to buy items on itunes. so i went to create a new account in the australian section and i filled in all the boxes and also it asks for a gift card code if i had one and because i was too desperate so i typed in the code and clicked continue (this was in the payment method section). and then it came up with the page saying that your gift card is redeemed and you can now shop and i clicked ok and it returned to the main page (australian one) and i tried to login into my new account but it wouldn't let me and so i tried to type in my gift card code in the redeem section and it says that this gift card has already been redeemed by another account. I don't know how the **** am I gonna get my points back. Pleas Help Me !!!!!!!!!!!

I'm don't think that gift cards are currently available in India (and as they are country-specific you won't be able to use cards from another country).

ITunes gift cards & download problem

I am trying to help my son download songs onto his new iPod. 1st problem that occurred is that I don't get the option to purchase w/ a gift card. It automatically is charged to my credit card. I am unable to get my options set to being able to edit my shopping cart, etc.
2nd problem is that I am unable to get the songs from my computer to my iPod. I get an error message that I am not authorized to play the songs on this computer. How frustrating. I am the administrator of the computer and have the ability to do whatever I want, i.e. download, chat, etc. I don't understand this at all.
Can anyone help me with one or both of these issues?

to redeem a gift card, firstly dont try and create an accoutn. go to the itunes music store homepage. on the top right side corner it should have some QUICK LINKS
select redeem and then type your code in there.
a lot of people have been having difficulties today due to a backlog of traffic on the servers... try that.

Welcome to the forum. I can understand the frustration of standing in line patiently waiting for your turn, and then to be told that you cannot purchase the item you wanted. It also sounds like the manager was not very sympathetic when you tried to explain, and I sincerely apologize for any disappointment this has caused.
To further clarify, Best Buy prohibits the redemption of any Best Buy Gift Card for the purchase of any prepaid open loop card. Currently, Best Buy sells a Visa/Best Buy co-branded prepaid card. This policy applies to any and all other prepaid open loop cards sold by Best Buy at any time. Therefore, if the gas card was not a open loop card, you should have been able to purchase it. I would appreciate it very much if you could let me know what store you visited, so I can share your experience with their leadership team for further training opportunities.

Gift Card Account Money Gone!

I just logged on, and the little box at the top right hand corner next to my login name which shows how much money I have via a prepurchased card, has disappeared. So I no longer have any money to use to buy stuff in the iTunes Store. I don't want to use my credit card.
I'd just finished installing the latest update.
Is anyone else having this problem??

If the suggestions provided earlier are not bringing back your credit. Please feel free to contact iTunes Store Billing Support below.
They will look into your account with you and determine if there were current pending charges on the account that got charged once the credit was added or if the credit is still on the account and the latest balance report.

I just logged out of my daughter's account and back in, and now it works. Deducted from gift card account balance. So I hope this is resolved.

Cost of App came out of bank account, not gift card...!?

I recently redeemed my £70 Mac Apps gift card. I then downloaded Pages and Numbers. However, only the cost of ONE of them has come off my gift card account. I think the other has been charged to by bank account.
Anyone know how I can pay for the second one via gift card instead or is it too late? Hope I can because I'm totally skint!

Keep in mind, if the total cost of the apps purchased from the App Store exceeds the balance available from the redeemed card, the difference is then charged against your bank account.
Remove bank account details so only the cost is deducted from the redeemed card.
Click Accunt right side of the App Store window under Quick Links.
Enter your Apple ID and password then click View Account.
From the Account Information window click Edit to the right of Payment Type.
Remove your bank account details by clicking None then click Done bottom right side of the window.
Now when you make purchases, the amount will be deducted only from the balance of the redeemed card.

How Do I Use An iTunes Gift Card?

I was given an iTunes gift card for Christmas. It says: "Open iTunes and click on iTunes Store. Click Redeem." I am then instructed to scratch off the label and enter the gift code number. I am then to download my content "and enjoy."
I would like to "enjoy." The only problem is, when I open iTunes and click on iTunes Store, there isn't any "Redeem" opton available anywhere. I'm not going to list everthing that appears on the drop-down menu under iTunes Store, but "Redeem" isn't one of them, and I can't find "Redeem" anywhere else on the home page for the Store.
So how do I use an iTunes gift card?

Problem solved. It seems I did not have the most recent version of iTunes. Once I updated to the current version, the "Redeem" link appeared. I'm not going to tell you how old my existing version was. Let's just say I was a tad out of date.

I went in, clicked on Redeem, plugged in the gift card number and, voila! - my account has been credited with the amount of the card. I am good to go.

Apple do not take Singapore market seriously? In Singapore Gift card or any other method of payment are not possible? Must have US account?

Multiple users with gift cards

I am so surprised that I haven't seen this topic. We have 3 kids that all constantly receive itunes gift cards. Using them and keeping track has been a nightmare! Is there a way that they can keep their gift cards separate from each other? I can't imagine we are the only ones!!
And it wouldn't be that hard for apple to have mini gift card accounts for each child with separate passwords solely for that purpose.
With the kabillions of $$$ being generated from itunes cards, I think this should be a given.
We, a VERY apple family, would appreciate the effort tremendously!!

Just set each child up with his or her own account in the iTunes Store. Then you can keep all the various gift cards separate just by redeeming each child's gift card in his or her own iTunes Store account. If everyone is using the same iTunes library, they'll have to remember to log out of their iTunes Store account when they're done purchasing.
