Gift Card double charged.

I did an order on a $100 gift card with order number {removed per forum guidelines}. It came to 24.55. Instead of the balance after that order being 75.45, it was 50.90. Exactly twice the cost of the order was charged, or my order was charged twise, whatever happened. I contacted the e-gift card people and they told me they could do nothing about it. Please let me know what is going on and why I was charged 200% for this order.

Hello KAKA54,
I enjoy buying things, but I definitely wouldn’t enjoy getting double charged! That is very strange! Thanks for bringing this to our attention and I would be more than happy to look into this for you.
I will be sending you a private message to collect some more details from you about your order via private message. To check your private messages, click on the envelope in the upper right-hand corner while you’re logged into the forums.

  • Best Buy Gift Card was charged twice.

I recently placed an order on Best Buy.com and it said there was an error. After I tried again, it went through, but I noticed that I had only $3.28 left on my gift card. My gift card balance before the transaction was around 77 dollars. I thought that was peculiar. The trade-in I made a couple weeks ago on 12/26/14 gave me 77 dollars for trading in Assassin's Creed Unity and Call of Duty Advanced Warfare on the PS4 for 26 and 21 dollars respectively. Additionally, there was a 50% bonus trade-in that week for video games and on top of that I have Gamer's Club Unlocked, which gave me an extra 10% on video game trade-ins.  All that would have came out to $77.55.
I think that BestBuy.com charged my card twice, but there is no way to confirm it. Either that or Best Buy had given me less for my trade-in.

    Hello lucknotluck,
Welcome to the forum. I'm sorry to hear you were having troubles when placing an order on BestBuy.com. It certainly would be frustrating to be charged twice for one order, and I'm truly disappointed this has caused you to cancel your order.
Using the e-mail you registered on the forum, I was able to view the order, and transaction history. It does look like your gift card was charged twice, but the good news is that our customer support agents have sent you a new gift card with the missing balance. You should see this card arrive within 10 - 12 business days. If you do not see it arrive within this timeframe please let me know.
Thank you again for visiting the forum, and please do not hesitate to let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

  • Hi, i have problem with my apple id when i want purchase app even free one, asked me for complete my card informations... but i don't want to use debit card because already i have gift card and charge it in my id... please help

hi, i have problem with my apple id when i want purchase app even free one, asked me for complete my card informations... but i don't want to use debit card because already i have gift card and charge it in my id... please help me.
when i unchek the card information it was show me an error!

Though you are being asked for card details it doesn't necessarily mean that the card will be charged for the purchase (unless you want to gift content). Have you tried entering your card's details to confirm the account ? You should then be able to remove it.
    From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5582 :
When making purchases, content credits are used first, followed by Gift Certificate, iTunes Card, or Allowance Account credits; your credit card or PayPal account is then charged for any remaining balance
Is it a new account ? If it is then unless a new account is created by following the instructions on this page (the instructions won't work with existing accounts) : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
then you will need to enter card details (debit cards are no longer accepted in all countries) before the account can be used to download any item from the store.

  • HT5057 iTunes account attached to debit card. How to use iTunes gift cards without charging debit card?

Hey everyone! I have an iTunes account and attached to that account I have a debit card. I recently got some iTunes gift cards and would like to use them as the main source to fund purchases until they run out and then go back to using my debit card. How do I do this? Do I have to delete my debit card info and add the gift card info or is there a way to keep the debit card info listed but use the gift cards first?
Thanks so much for all your help. Not sure how to retrieve any disscussions but I'll figure it out somehow.

You can redeem iTunes gift cards by clicking "Redeem" under Quick Links at the top right of the iTunes store.
Gift card credit is automatically used before your debit card, so there is no need to remove it. After your credit is used your debit card will be charged again.

  • HT201209 I HAVE BOTH A GIFT CARD AND A CREDIT CARD ON ITUNES.  HOW DOES IT KNOW WHAT TO CHARGE

I just want to know how itunes knows whether to charge my credit card or my gift card

It always charges the gift card first.

  • Itunes store multiple gift cards on one account

Using one store account for multiple iPods and users, and having different iTunes gift cards to redeem per user, when entering the card info using Redeem function, does the store account list the distinct gift cards to select when making a purchase or automatically charge the cc on file? Bottom line, want to be able to make purchases and select the CC or gift card to charge against.
    Thanks

does the store account list the distinct gift cards to select when making a purchase or automatically charge the cc on file?
    No.
It charges gift cards first, then from CC.
If you have different users, they should create their own iTunes account and add their gift cads to their own account.

  • HT2736 Trouble purchasing with iTunes Gift Card

When I try to purchase a song with my iTunes gift card, it charges to my credit card instead.  I tried hitting the "redeem" button, but because I have already typed my code in, it will not allow me to access it.  How do I get the charge on my gift card instead of my credit card?

If u don't want to use your credit card, delete its info by going to app store, select Apple ID at the bottom of the page, select edit payment method, then check if your payment method is set to none. That way you will be using your iTunes credits from now on...if u run out..then it will ask you your credit card cause it will know u have one...or it will ask u to redeem an iTunes card.

  • Using Gift Card Credit before CC?

A while back I got me a iTunes gift card, and I purchased some albums with the credit with no problems. Now I have about $6 left on it, and I want to buy one album that costs $9.99. Is there a way to charge the remaining gift card credit to the purchase and pay the remainder with a regular CC? I've played around with the account settings, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do this.
    Any help is appreciated.

You shouldn't have to do anything special at all, assuming your credit card information is valid. Just buy the album; the iTunes Store should automatically pull the remaining balance from your gift card and charge the rest of the price of your album to your credit card. That's the way it's always worked for me.

  • Re: System error ate my gift cards

I had the same exact thing happen to me!! I called and DEMANDED to speak to a supervisor and she said she is aware of this problem and it has to do with some kind of system upgrade gone wrong, but when she called the "back office" they told her I have to wait 24 hours for the funds to "magically" come back on my gift cards, I honestly have no faith in Best Buy at this point so I am very doubtful but I am going to wait until Friday morning which will have been 36 hrs and if my gift cards still do not have the balances restored i'm calling back and demand to speak to the vice president! Best Buy could be running a ponzi scheme money grab for all we know stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from gift cards betting that most people are either too dumb to realize it or too lazy to call and complain.

    Hello alwayzj-
I know I would be upset and frustrated if I placed an order, my gift cards were charged and I had nothing to show for it.  This definitely would not leave me with a good taste in my mouth either.
As the agent you spoke with stated, we did experience some issues after a recent update to BestBuy.com that caused some orders made with gift cards to not complete correctly.  Generally when that happens, the funds for the gift card should return back to the card once the system realizes that the order has not shipped, though this time can vary.
If you find that your funds did not return to the gift cards by Friday morning, I would be happy to help you and save you the time of making a phone call.  If the funds are not back, please send me a Private Message with your full name, email address and the 16 digit gift card numbers along with the amounts that were on the cards and I can dig into this for you.  You can send me a Private Message by logging into the forum and clicking on the button across from my name on this post.
I apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused you and thank you for bringing this to our attention.
    Sincerely,

  • Apple gift card

Can I use a Apple gift card at the Apple Store online? If it is possible how can it be done if the Apple Store has my banking info and deducts automatically from my checking acc.

Before you made the purchase final I think you have the option to put the gift card as a payment option. If there is a gift card, the charges are deducted from the gift card first then if you still own money then Apple will charge your credit card the incremental amount.

  • $1 Charge on gift card

Okay, so I understand the whole other branch that's affiliated with the debit or credit needs to verify the account anf that the charge is definitely only temporary... My question is how does that work with a gift card? Let's say it's an American Express gift card, would the verification notice go to American Express? And, just a shot in the dark, what is the usual time frame for the return? I understand I can't get a definite answer so an estimate or educated guess is worth just as much as the real deal.I know it's just a dollar.I'm curious as to when because under certain circumstances the value of just one dollar can raise very rapidly.  Thanks! -S.E.H.

  • I've been charged in my credit card for the "Back to school Gift Card", Why?

I have recently bought my new MacBook Pro 13", that came with the "Back To school Gift Card". In received thre different invoices.
    1) An invonice with all the accesories that I bought
    2) An invonice with all the "extras" of my mac and the mac itself. (There they "subtract" the $100 from the gift card under "promotional savings"
    3) An invonice with the gift card amount of $100.
On my personal bank account i have three different charges from the apple store. i double checked already.
Why is this happening? Will I get a refund at the end of the month or how does this work?

Ah,  horse of a different color!  I'd contact the store and ask for a refund.  Here's a list of contact numbers.

  • So im trying to buy logic pro and just recently put enough money in gift cards on my account but every time i click buy app and go to billing info and then click ok it just shoots me to the first screen and did not charge for app how can i buy it ?

so im trying to buy logic pro and just recently put enough money in gift cards on my account but every time i click buy app and go to billing info and then click ok it just shoots me to the first screen and did not charge for app how can i buy it ?

This may sound stupid, but I'm gonna throw it out there anyway. Is it possible, that if I have enough junk on my desktop it might disrupt the signal? It seems odd, but it kind of looks like my signal is strong and relatively steady now that I've cleaned my desktop. I do tend to get very cluttered. I use a lot of reference images and save text clippings to use later... it just piles up very quickly.
So, I wonder if all that extra effort my system has to do keeping up with the junk might have something to do with the drop outs?

  • I have a gift card balance of 25.78 and when I have purchased a song and an app it is charging my credit card. WHY???

I have two ipad2s and two iPhone 4s on the same iTune account. I have a gift card balance of $25.78. I have purchased a song on one iPad and an app on a different iPad using the same iTunes account. Both times I have been charged the amount to my credit card and my "credit" balance or redeemable balance has not decreased. Why is this happening?  Why won't it take it out of the gift card balance?  Please help if you can. This is frustrating. I didn't think I had to do anything special once I "redeemed" the card and put them in the account to use. At first it was deducting the amount from the credited amount when I was initially buying songs. Now it's not. It's so frustrating!
