I sent two gifts of books through the Itunes store to my daughter on her ipad and she can't open them. What do we do?

Sounds like you have VoiceOver (one of the accessibility features) 'on' - if you turn up the iPad's volume does it say what you are tapping on screen ? If it does then try triple-clicking the home button and see if that turns it off, and if it does you can then change what a triple-click does via Settings > General > Accessibility > Accessibility Shortcut .
If that doesn't turn it off then you can either turn it off directly on the iPad (you need to use a tap-to-select and then double-tap to activate/type process and 3 fingered scrolling) to go into Settings > General > Accessibility and turn VoiceOver 'off', or you can do it by connecting to your computer's iTunes (after typing in your passcode via the tap/double-tap process) : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4064

Try restoring the device using iTunes. Connect the iPad to your computer and when iTunes opens, select your device on the left side, then click on the summary tab, then click on Restore.
After the device is restored you will have an opportunity to restore from your backup. Restore from the backup when you are done and then sync with iTunes.
if that doesn't work, try recovery mode.

You can't update the original iPad beyond iOS 5.1.1 so if you were already running that version, there was no reason to wipe the iPad to try to update.
Won't work at all, doesn't tell me the whole story. Does it power up but not respond to anything? Does it not power up at all? Some detailed information in context would really be helpful.

Facetime with iPad won't work after 6.1 Update

Is anyone having issues making calls to iPads from iMac (OSX 10.7.5 Lion) after the iPad has upgraded to iOS 6.1? It worked before I updated the iPad, and it still works with my iPhone after upgrading that to iOS 6.1. I have tried with other non-upgraded iPads and it works, but other upgraded iPads do not work as well.

Try basic troubleshooting:
(A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
(B) Try reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
(C) Setup as new
Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings

Remote app on iPad won't work with iTunes on iMac

I own two computers, a Late 2012 27inch iMac with i5, 16GB, Fusion drive and a 2014 MacBookPro Retina 13inch, both are running Yosemite, iTunes 12.0.1 and my iPad 4 is running iOS 8.0.2.
When I set up to control my iMac with wifi and my iPad 4, the remote software connects and I have the music library icon that shows up, but it doesn't actually run to control iTunes like it's supposed to do. When I use my MacBookPro, it works perfectly without any problem.
Any suggestions? I really want to use my iMac as my music server since it's a stationary system that placed next to my stereo system, but what should I try to make this work. I've used several different routers Apple and Non-Apple and the results are identical. The MacBookPro works great and the iMac doesn't. I've checked all of the settings and can't find anything different between the two computers.
Any help would be great.

As Demo indicated, IDs unfortunately can not be combined.
Decide which one you want to be "primary" and routinely remain logged on to that one on both the iPad and the computer. That way, all new purchases will be on the primary and you won't be making the problem any worse.
Change the password on one of the IDs so that both IDs use the same password.
The difficulty is in app updates. Both your iPad and iTunes on your computer will tell you that updates are available and it's possible to update them using either device (and a sync will update the other device). However, it's a nuisance updating from iTunes because you most log out and back in again, get the update, and when finished log out and back in again to get back on your primary.
Remember that the iPad is always logged in to the primary ID. When the iPad tells you that updates are available, you either "select all" or choose one at a time for updating. If you "select all," only those associated with the primary ID will be updated but sometimes you're lucky and that's everything. The apps on the secondary ID will not have been updated and they should subsequently be selected one at a time for updating. You will NOT need to log out and back in again! All that will be necessary is to enter the password.
If any of the above did not make sense, post back and I'll explain.

Tried to update to iOS 4.3, after that IPad won't work, HELP!!

So I hooked up my 64GB+3G t itunes and started to update my IPad, Took an hour to backup and then I came back to check on the IPad, It said there was an error updating. I was like no worry I will just stay with the 4.2.1 update. But when I ejected my IPad and it said it needed to connect to itunes, I did that and it wouldn't recognize my IPad. So I went on this forum and to see if restoring my IPad was the only choice. I did and people said that it won't restore it will just show another error code and that their IPad was utterly dead. Any help to save my IPad? Anyone?

IPad won't work

I decided to update my iPad mini to ios 7.02. It was all fine until the itunes logo came up with a usb cord. I tried to turn it off and restart it I even searched some ways to fix it but nothing works. I have connected the usb cord to the comupter and to my ipad and done what it says to do yet nothing happens. Please help me!!!

The iTunes icon and cable means that it's gone into recovery mode, it needs to be reset back to factory defaults via a computer's iTunes. What happens when you connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes, does that not recognise that an iPad in recovery mode has been connected to it ? If it's not recognised by your computer then your iTunes is up-to-date ?

The only thing that I can suggest is keep trying - or try it on another computer.
Did you try rebooting the iPad? Hold down on the sleep and home buttons until the Apple logo appears on the screen. Maybe if you reboot you will be able to restore.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

Oh, there are other things to try in the interim, not the least of which would be a different set or type of plug. You should make sure that there's no possible interference from any sort of a cover you might have on the iPad. You can try something as simple as blowing debris out of the plug's recess with a jet of compressed air. Try putting a thin film of electronic lubricant, like a CRC, on a plug and exercise it in and out a few times.
There might be some other things that might help, like giving it a good shake, but the above will at least give you something to do for a while.
