About 20 hours ago, my friend has gifted me an app. I knew that I would receive an email to claim the application, but up till now, the email has not come. I was sure the email typed in was right, so is there any way for the application to send me another email to claim it again? Thanks.

There is a very simple solution to this problem which your friend can access via iTunes. Click on Purchase History after they have logged into the Store and selected View my Account.
Here he can click on the arrow pointing to the gift transaction you are concerned about. If the gift app is still unredeemed there will be another arrow to click on which will allow him to resend the gift. He can send the gift to himself, or to anyone else of his choosing.

My sis-in-law gifted me a Sygic Navigation for Pakistan on December, 18,2012. I am unable to redeem it. The red writing below the key shows that the gift is not for an apple I.D. other than U.S. Since the payment has been made, and I am unable to redeem the application. Please help me in this regard.

You cannot gift from one countries Mac App Store to another country. You will not be able to redeem the gift. Send it back so that someone in the same country as she can redeem it. There is no way around this.

Accepting gifted application from different store.

A friend of mine gifted me an application , his account is on UAE store while mine in US store.
However, whenever I try to redeem the gift, it says its valid in UAE store only.
So what’s the solution.
And why we can’t gift ppl. In different stores. I have friends and family in different countries and ofcourse they are using the relevant store. So why Apple doesn’t make anything easy for the customer!!!
BTW…IOS 8 is the worst update for iphone.

All gifts (including gift cards) are country-specific - they will only be able to be redeemed in the same country as they person who sent it. Why you can't gift to another country I don't think that Apple have said, but it's possibly due to the rights-holders not allowing it.
The person who sent it can try resending it to somebody else who is in the UAE : Resend iTunes Gifts.
Or, and if they've been charged, they can try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will refund/credit them : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

TS1702 gift application NOT arriving to recipient

Bought and sent an application (269MB) to a friend via my iPhone 4. Provided correct e-mail, etc. The recipeint has not receive the app. I was billed.
What can I do?

You have to be sure that the person recipient's is connected to the same country app store that you are, neither way the gift will not arrive.

A way to gift applications

It would be nice to have a way to buy applications as gift for someone else.

iBookmaster : I was more thinking at a way to offfer single applications. I was willling to offer Angry bird, for example, and there is no gift card for such an amount. Itunes gift card has only fixed amounts

HT2736 Does one need to have an iTunes Account (connected to their credit card) in order redeem gifted application?

I need to find out if I can send multiple apps in the form of gifts to people who do not have itunes accounts(connected to their credit cards).
Is that possibile?
My goal would be to be able to send an app to someone who can then either right on their ipad or though itunes download the app without entering any credit card information or having to login to itunes.

I sent the WhatsApp application as gift to a friend using the Iphone 4G, when my friend clicks the link in the Email to redeem the gift, he receives a message "invalid url"

Error "No operations Allowed after statement closed"

I have a little program that I want to grab a list of names out of MySQL (it does) and when I click on the name I want it to display some information about the person. This is where I run into the error, when I click on a name in the list box it gives me the error "No operations allowed after statement closeed". I'm not sure where my statement is being closed, in my listSelectionListerner I never close the statement so I'm not sure whats heppening. Heres the code:

The fact is,
the finally statement is reached after the whole object is initialized,
that means that your statement is closed, before you make an action
with you ListSelectionListener.
Try working with a connect and disconnect method, or something like that,
which are called during your valueChangeg() method!

JList Displaying Text

I have a database that I'm getting information from, in a JList called nameList I have a list if names from the database, when I click on a name I want the JList named statList to display some information but I can't seem to get it to display even though I did both JList's exactly the same.

A Vector can be used to initially populate a ListModel. After that is you want to make changes to the ListModel you use the methods provided by the JList. You don't update the Vector directly. The above tutorial show how to do this.
Another option is to create a new DefaultListModel and then use the JList.setModel(...) method to replace the existing ListModel.

ListSelectionListener does nothing

I have a JList with some names of people in it that gets pulled from a database, when I click the names I want information to be put into a text area. When I click on a name currently, nothing happens.

In you valueChanged method, "results" never gets added (appended) to "statList". Definately nothing will show up.

Hello. I have tried to use my visa gift card to purchase something from apple. However, the security code is not present, which I am aware of. When I typed in the correct security code, I discovered that there was not enough money in the card to complete the purchase anyway. Now, whenever I attempt to update my applications on my iPhone 3Gs, I am directed to the billing information from the previous purchase that did not work. How do I cancel the purchase and continue to update my applications?

This happens for some apps. If you have a computer try to buy on it. Otherwise you will have to enter a credit card or some from of billing.

Yes you can redeem the card if it is a U.S. gift card, you have a U.S. based iTunes account and if you are using the U.S. stores on the iPad.
On the iPad - Swipe to the bottom of the screen in the App Store or in iTunes and tap on Redeem. If you are using iTunes on your computer, you should see Redeem under Quick Links (i think that is where you will see it) after you sign into the store.
