'gifting' sub-accounts.

We are still waiting to be migrated- happy about that as I see things are still being tweaked. My husband is primary, with a BT ID which I use to check the bill - my now adult daughters and I have sub accounts which were set up eons ago. I know these subs can be turned into affiliate accounts when the transfer happens : can this be done in advance ie we all get our own BT IDS ahead of time The reason is that my husband travels a lot, with big time zone changes, and I am concerned that the webmail could inaccessible for the subs for a time, which could be difficult. Or could the subs continue to be accessed on the existing email logins ?

You may be able to set up a BTID before hand. I haven't tried it so can't say for sure.

You will still be able to access your emails even if they are not gifted. The only problem is that if they are not gifted, the main account holder can also access them with out the password.
Once they have been gifted that will stop and only the sub-account holder will be able to access them.

  • Our family has 1 Apple id. My sons received many itunes gift cards. Can I set up sub-accounts under my id? If I create new ids, will they lose access to the content purchased under wmy id?

Our family has 1 Apple id with 2 itouches, 1 ipad and 1 iphone.  My sons received several itunes gift cards. Can I set up sub-accounts under my id and deposit their gift cards into them (like a bank account)? If I can't, it seems that I will have to keep track of each of their purchases until they reach the limit of their gift cards, before they go over.  This makes no sense.  If I have to create new ids, will they lose access to all the content purchased under my id?

    - You can't create subaccounts.
    - You can create new account(s). The media on the iPod is still usable. It does create more work when updating apps since yo have to sign into the account that purchased them to update them. If you have apps purchased from more than one account that need update you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased with one account.
    - To change accounts for purchasing go to Settings> Store (or Settings.iTunes and App store depending upon the iOS) and sign out and sign in with different account.

  • Itunes account for sub account not allowed?

I'm trying to open a new itunes account for my daughter who has a sub account from our .Me "Family Pack". So far, I have been denied completing the sign up process. The error message is: "We are experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again later". Does this mean sub accounts in a .Me "Family Pack" can not own individual itunes accounts? Does it mean one itunes account must be shared among all "Family Pack" members? If so, this seems very limiting for itunes business and not a good incentive for buying the .Me Family Pack. Can someone tell me if this is true or how Family Pack sub accounts can open their own itunes account. Thanks

If you want them to have access to songs and videos, even free ones, you will need to provide some sort of payment method to set up the account, if not a credit card than a prepaid iTunes card or gift certificate. Apple uses this as verification of the user's country of residence, something the content owners require of them.
If you only want your users to have access to free songs, you can set them up an account using your credit card, then remove the credit card information from the account. Then they will only be able to download free songs and videos, though if they attempt to purchase something that has a cost, it may allow the purchase, create a balance due, and "clog" up the works until the item is paid for in some way.
    Regards.

  • Sub accounts for iTunes

Is there any way to create sub accounts for my 4 children in iTunes?
I'd like to see a family friendly option much like the family pack for Mobile me.
One central billing account, with individual Apple ID's that allow me to add redeemable currency to their accounts for downloads.
This would certainly make life a lot easier as we continue to expand apple product presence throughout the home.
Anyone know of a way to do anything like this?

My kids are minors under 10 so parental control is important to me.  You can share one Apple ID across all devices and here is how I have set ours up.
Music:  I have purchased all our music under my Apple ID.  iTunes allows you to play all purchases on upto 5 devices you have tied to your ID.  I then make each child a playlist.  When I charge a device, I only sync music and click on that child's playlist.  All other syncable applications are turned off so that they do not sync to my computer.  As mentioned above, the only disadvantage to this is when your children are old enough to manage their own equipment.  They will have to start fresh with a new Apple ID and thus have to purchase their own music.  For me that will make sense once they have a computer of their own from which to manage a device.  They will always be able to homeshare purchases on your Apple ID while at home.
FaceTime/Messaging:  I then set up a Gmail acct for each child that only I can access.  I accessed the settings for both FT and Messaging (individually) on my child's device and added the new email address as the contact address for that device.  Once done, delete your Apple ID from email calling list on that device.  You will then be able to FT and Message other devices that are sharing your Apple ID.
When kids receive a gift card... I add it to my acct and tell them the balance.  They shop accordingly and once downloaded, we add those selections to their playlists.  Added benefit is that we all get to enjoy them for now: )

  • Sub-account cannot send email from Apple Mail

I've tried setting up two sub-accounts to send/receive email but no matter what I try, these accounts error out on sending email.  Looks like they aren't recognized by smtp server.  Is there a different setting for sub-accounts?

I fixed my problem - I deleted my email account on my iPhone, then tried to setup a new account. I had a few problems setting it up. It wouldn't recognize the incoming or outgoing servers and I lost my email altogether for a few hours. Then I changed every setting possible and finally figured out that I had 2-3 "Other SMTP Servers" as well as my "Primary Server". Once I deleted the Other SMTP Servers, my email worked and i'm able to send emails now!
I also think changing the "Server Port" number helped solve my problem also, and making sure "Use SSL" was turned off.

  • How do you Set up a Family Pack sub-account

how do you Set up a Family Pack sub-account i have purchased a Family Pack account and enter the activation key and i can not find where to set up the sub-account.
    please help
    Denis

    Thanks Shepart
when i activated the account i ticked the upgrade button, should i have ticked the new account button?
anyway, when i do what you say (below) there is not a manage "Accounts button" so i went to reactive it again ( for a new account) and is says that the activation key is all ready in use.
Denis, go to www.mac.com and sign into your account. Click on the word "Account" at the top of the left hand column. You will need to sign in again for security purposes. Once your account settings show up, click on the "Manage Accounts" button and you can take care of everything.
    i think i hit a brick wall !!

  • HT204053 how do I set up a sub account in iCloud?

How do I set up a sub account in icloud?  We need three separate email addresses in this house but only have one Apple ID.  Since the apple ID is an email address, I'm sort of in a catch 22.  I can't set up individual icloud accounts because I don't have other apple ID's.  I can't get other apple ID's because you have to use one to get an icloud account... Very confusing.  Our main email address transfered seamlessly to icloud and we love it but we want to ditch our Advertisement ridden verizon email and have a separate email for my husbands business contacts and my business contacts.  Everyone says we can just sign up for other icloud accounts but... well... the whole catch 22 thing.  Someone please help, I feel like I'm chasing my tail here.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
You cannot set up subaccounts, as you couldwith the family pack for MobileMe. I'm not sure why you can't create separate Apple IDs and hence iCloud accounts, it isn't good practice to share and iCloud account between different people. All you need to do, is each create your own iCloud account, choosing your old email address when you do so.

  • I have an iTunes account with my own music library.  My wife wants to have her own music library.  Is there a way of setting up a sub account for her, or do I have to set of husband playlists and a separate set of wife playlists?

    Sorry, but that's not possible.
You can share iTunes libraries on a network >  iTunes: Setting up Home Sharing on your computer

  • How do you post multiple personal domains to .Mac sub accounts?

I was assured by .Mac tech support that .Mac will host a different personal domain on each of five accounts of a family pak. Now I discover that iWeb is a one-trick pony. I'm stunned that I can't create separate sites and upload them individually. I've never heard of an application that can only create one document!
And I can't even find the data for that ONE document; ~/Library/Application/Domain.sites2 is only 20kb no matter how many photos you've added to the site.
So I guess I have two questions: How do you post multiple domains to sub accounts?
    And, where's my data?

The tilde (~/Library/etc.) indicates home folder; that is where I was looking. I did a Spotlite search and discovered that in attempting to backup my data, I'd moved it; Spotlite found it and it was all intact.
Then I discovered I could duplicate Domain.sites2, change the names to Domain de.sites2, and Domain daru.sites2, open daru's site and delete de's, then open de's and delete daru's, and I had two separate sites that I presume I'll be able to upload separately. Once I get .Mac sub groups created...
Seems like a stupid bit of programming; must have hired some windows guys to code it...
Problem I'm having now is, .Mac won't let me set up a sub account in my wife's name because she already has a .Mac ID and a trial account because she joined a .Mac group. Awaiting a reply rom .Mac tech support.
So my question isn't quite answered yet, but it does look like I can post several sites without having to set up separate user accounts. Seems like this could be explained in the help file in plain English...

Anytime I try to make a new sub account, and I click on "Sub Accounts" I get this error:

Before you ask, I'm a bit of a PC geek, I tried in both FF and IE8, same result, checked cookie settings, and they are NOT disabled etc.
    Any ideas?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Cookies are normal. The only exceptions are for SU.
I found a way to manage the sub accounts. Through Yahoo. Which is completely asinine. Why do I have to go to Yahoo's page when IT'S RIGHT IN MY VERIZON!?
I wish I could "unbrand" my dsl service.

My Ipod was originally set up as a sub-account of a firends.  After that, I got an Iphone and set up my own Apple account.  I just got a new Ipod, and now can't sync my old Itunes to it. Can anyone help me? I'm even OK with deleting the old Itunes account, and staring over.  I just really want to get the new Ipod under my own account, and be able to use it...

There is no such thing as a "sub-account."  Also, you probably mean iTunes library, when you say "account."  Your "account" in iTunes is your Apple ID, which is what you use to sign in to the iTunes Store to make purchases.  iPods are associated with an iTunes library, not with an Apple ID (iTunes Store account).  You'll need to clarify...
So, this is what I think you are saying.  You previously shared an iTunes library on a computer with your friend.  Your old iPod was synced to that iTunes library.
You got an iPhone, and at that time, you set up your own iTunes library.  Is that on a different computer?  How does the iPhone affect your question about the iPod?
You got a new iPod.  What is your "old iTunes"?  Is that the iTunes library you shared with your friend?

    Hi
I hope you will be running manual or electronic bank statement at your company.
The bank sub account that has been posted gets cleared when you run manual or electronic bank statement.
Let me explain you in detail
The entry that got posted during the down payment received from Customer--
    Check Receipt A/C Debit
    Customer A/C        Credit
When you run the manual or electronic bank statement the entry gets posted as
    Main Bank A/C Debit
Check Receipt A/C Credit there by clearing the open item from the Check Receipt A/C.
Hope this helps you in understanding how the open item in Check Receipt A/C gets cleared.
    Good Luck
    Hari
