Gigabeat Room 2.0.2 on Windows 7

First of all, thanks and I give apologies because of my english:
The poblem is that I have an old Toshiba music player: Gigabeat F20, and I still use it. Actually, I changed (or moved on?) from Windows XP to Windows 7 and I tried to install the GIGABEAT ROOM 2.0.2 to sincronize my gigabeat but it's impossible, when I'm trying to open that program appears the message: Windows is looking for GBRoom.exe. To find the file yourself, click on examine... Well, it's just that this file doesn't exist on my computer. So I downloaded a new version of Gigabeat Room, the 3.0 version and this doesn't work to synchronize or move any song from the PC to the music player. Any help?? Thank you.

I had to google to discover Gigabeat is a Toshiba mp3 player. Is the player detected and recognised in Device Manager when you plug it into your computer? If no then you will need to find the correct driver - if W7 32 bit then Vista /XP drivers may work. If W7 64bit and you've got a version below Professional then unless you can find a driver on the Toshiba product support page I would think you can forget it.
Did Toshiba issue any firmware updates for the device and have you applied them?
If it is recognised then you have a software issue . If you are happy that the software installed correctly (if not uninstall it (also look to see if the earlier version hasn't been uninstalled) and reinstall) then search W7's Help and Support for "compatibility mode" and try and run the the program as "XP". When you reinstall there may be an option at the end to view a readme file - this may give some indication about windows compatibility .

  • I need a download source for the Toshiba GigaBeat Room

I need a link to the Toshiba gigabeat room software.
After spending the last 3 hours trying to find some kind of Toshiba tech support email adress this is the best think I could find.
My PC fried and I dont have the software disks any more so I need a download link.

    Hi Danny,
Try the following URL. It seems to offer a 'download' of the Gigabeat Room applications :-

  • How much room should be partitioned for Windows XP?

Alright, I have a different install disc for XP with SP3 which should work. Since I'll only be using XP for a couple of things (mainly small programs, but also for office and such), how much room should I leave for XP on my 320 gig HD so that both OSs have some breathing room (most of my other stuff like music and pictures are on the Leopard side of things)?

But I hear that it has better compatibility to run FAT32 than NTFS. Does it really matter too much?
While OSX is able to read and write to FAT32 partition, it can only read from NTFS partitions.
With the help of apps like NTFS-3G http://www.ntfs-3g.org/ and/or NTFS for Mac http://www.paragon-software.com/home/ntfs-mac/ OSX can also write to NTFS partitions.
To me personally this is no problem, since I want OSX and Windows to seperated (I even have Windows on a harddisk of its own in my Mac Pro) and for file exchange between OSX and Windows I use an external FAT32 HD.
But the advantage of the newer, better and more robust NTFS file system outweighs these 'disadvantages'.
    And FAT32 has a file-size limitation for single-files of 4GB.
Also, not to be pessimistic, but what if something goes wrong with the partition or install? Can I restart my Mac and would it be unaffected? This disc should work, but I want to know just in case...
Before 'fumbling' with any kind of partitioning on a harddisk I always make a backup of my important files, or better said I use SuperDuper to make a bootable clone of my OSX.
While the chances that something goes wrong are quite slim (I have made the partitioning with the BootCamp Assistant for about 10 times now), the possibility is always there.

  • Gigabeat drive and player F10 from 2005

My quest to free space on the gigabeat room by deleting files directly through my computer led to the player not playing music stored on it.  The message on the player's screen is always No File Found.
Pressing the plus in the middle sometimes makes it look like it's playing, according to the movind knob on screen, but there is no sound.
Also, syncing from Media player 10 leads to failed syncs and skipped files.
Music files left on the player can be seen through my computer, and on the player, but only played through my computer.
Here is one suggestion from Jerry_Lippey on this forum but the tool does not register my player connected:

    See if this helps any.

BTW, the Owner's Manual is here.

In my opinion I messed up the coding by going through my computer instead of media player.
I thought I should reformat but am using Vista and the firmware is from 2005.
Reformating in my computer by right clicking does not give the reformat option.
Thank you for taking the time to brouse through.

All this and I still don't have enough space on my startup disk, but that's another whole question!
No, this should be the number one thing you are concerned about.
Until you get this sorted, there is a good chance you may simply lose everything.
Do you hav ean external drive?
If so copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder to the external drive.
Then you can delete /Music/iTunes/ empty the trash and recover this space.
Do this then Apple menu > Software update.
    Restart the computer
    Then post back.

  • How do I share Mac music and photo files when in Windows Bootcamp mode?

I have a new iMac with a terabyte of storage that includes about 30 gigs each of iTunes music and jpg photos. I need to share them to the Windows Bootcamp environment so I can wirelessly stream to them to a DLink DSM 320 media server connected to an AV system located in another room. When in Bootcamp Windows the the 320 can "see" the Windows machine but cannot find any media.
So the question is, how do I share files between Mac and Windows when in Windows Bootcamp?
A better solution would be to directly connect the Dlink when in the Mac environment but I have not been able to find software to do that (the Dlink product is for PC only.) If anyone knows of such software that would be great too.

Windows needs third party software to see files on the MAC OS extended FS. I've heard MacDrive does this.

  • Printer connected to Windows 7 computer remains offline despite being shared over network to imac

My new imac is connected directly to my HP printer. I am trying to connect from another room my old PC running Windows 7 also to this printer over my home network. I have the same workgroup on both computers, and have activated sharing. As far as I can see, I have followed all the standard instruction for sharing. The PC  has identified the printer and the printer has been selected, but print documents have been placed in a queue to print since it states it is offline. How do I get it back on line?

    Hello ProfA,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
You are not able to share a printer from OS X with Windows computers.  The article below explains more about sharing printers:

  • What's with the 32GB partition limit for installing Windows?

I have a 250 GB partition on a hard drive that I want to dedicate to Windows, but I've been reading the Bootcamp manual and it's confusing where it says that you can only create a 5 to 32 GB partition for installing Windows.
Is that the case, or can the partition for Windows be whatever size you want?
How does one go about being able to set up a larger NTFS volume?
I need more room than 32GB to install Windows and the software that I plan to add to it, plus, you need some free drive space so Windows has some room to work well.

This is a too long tale for the forum but you can read all about it on the wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FAT32#FAT32
In short, you can not create a BOOTABLE FAT32 partition larger as 32 Gb in Windows XP.
Vista does not even support any bootable FAT32 partition anymore, it has to be NTFS.
FAT32 was good but NTFS is really much better. Go for NTFS and use free tools to read the data from HFSA (Mac OS X file format) if you need to.
BTW formatting your drive in XP over 32 Gb will lead to very cryptic error messages during the install. Its a very bad idea. Force reformat the Boot Camp partition as 32 Gb FAT32 or force reformat into NTFS.

  • TV Recommendation For Bright Living Room

Despite my wife's displeasure with my pursuit of another television, I need a recommendation for one 65" or larger that would work for my living room that has several windows.  The 65" Panasonic Plasma I currently have works great during hours of darkness, but during the day all I see are reflections.  I plan on moving that one into my bedroom.  Any thoughts?

I have a 46" Sony LED TV located in my bright living room. There are many windows on 2 opposite walls that face NE and SW, with lots of sunlight. But the light never reflects on the screen. Even at night, when the overhead light is on in the nearby dining room. That light doesn't reflect in the screen, or have any type of negative impact on the picture.
I previously had an old Tube Type Sony TV in the same location. Which was not worth watching during daylight hours because of too much light being reflected on the screen.
For a bright room. LED is probably your best bet.
    Good Luck

  • Make room resource temporarily unavailable?

We have a remodel coming and management wants each of the room resources in Exchange to be marked as unavailable for the period covering their remodel.
By unavailable they don't want anyone scheduling a meeting in the room during its project closure window.
Is there a best practice to do this?  Can the room be set to deny reservation requests between 2 dates?
Right now we're thinking of booking all day meeting for the projected outage but that ties up someone else's mailbox too...
    Thanks for any ideas!

    Hi,
I think its better to set mail tips that room is not available between these times by using below command.
Set-Mailbox -MailTips "Room is not available between xx:xx:xx till xx:xx:xx" -identity roomalias

  • I want to install CyberLink PowerDirector on my Macbook Pro but I need Windows software operating system to be install ? I need help!

I  downloaded PowwerDirector 12 trial and when I try to open it,  I got a message that "CyberLink PowerDirector was not compatible to Mac". After some inquiries, I found that I need Winows software operating system to be install in Mac! Can sombody help me?

For Windows on a Mac you'd have to own a Windows retail system installer with keycode, and use BootCamp utility in the Mac OS X to set up a partition on the computer hard disk drive (issues? if you have Apple Fusion Drive where a SSD + HDD are automatically co-joined) and then install the Windows system there.
Or get & use Parallels, or VMFusion software and use it along with Windows to run applications written for a Windows OS. And would need to have a large internal hard disk drive with plenty of room since the space for Windows takes away space for Mac OS X and its applications to run; and also you'd need plenty of chip RAM installed to run this other System plus software... and for Windows, its own anti-virual software not needed at all in a Mac.
Not sure about this, http://www.wondershare.com/video-editor/mac/ suggests in their advert to be something to use if you can't use the cyberlink product.
Or don't want to buy the upscale or pro Apple image software that does a fine job at a cost. I'd try & avoid running Windows in a Mac even though it can run three or more different OS, including linux/unix builds.
Never heard of either one: wondershare or cyberlink powerdirector.
(the latter looked 'more pro' for windows)
    {But check for any hint of some odd effects before you get and install any software from a marginal or unknown source, since adware can follow, and really odd things can start to happen then, like search engine redirects.}
Anyway, helpful information about your computer and its current configuration, OS X version, RAM installed, hard disk drive specs (free vs used capacity) are numbers that can make a difference going into a new thing. Even Mavericks alone is not an upgrade, often that requires a bunch of extra chip RAM capacity.
Not sure if this helps, another may offer more direct ideas...
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • AirPort Base working on and off on Windows machines?

So I have an AirPort base I got not even a year ago. It's been working fine until all of a sudden the other day, everything was disconnected, and set up in a different room. Now, the service is coming and going on my room mates computers, which are windows based. Everything else, my iMac/phone/pad Xbox, all have worked fine during this same time.
Why would the service come and go on their computers? The connection is there, it just won't let them use the internet, or if it does its DL speed is like .5. Then all of a sudden it will work again, and go away later.
    Any ideas?

Not sure how you ended up here...
Maybe if you post your question in the PowerBook G4 discussion area a PowerBook user could offer advice.

  • Why does pogo hearts game window load very slowly

I ave Vista and the latest versions of Firefox and Java.
I had no problems with the previous Firefox version.
It was 9.0 or something like that.
In fact I would like to go back to that version .
When I play Pogo hearts the game room loads but,
the game window loads very, very slowly.
I get booted out before the game starts.

I have firefox 3.6.12 as well, but windows xp pro, sp3. plus : comodo internet security free. I took NoScript off and all my add-ins.
Firefox used to load in less than 5 seconds on startup and/or reboot. Now it takes up to 30 seconds to load. Once Firefox has been run once since it's first run in a Windows session, it loads fast (3-5 seconds) like it used to.
I completely removed Firefox, deleted the mozilla folder, did a fresh download of firefox 3.6.12 and installed it. NO add-ins except Adobe Acrobat and the ones that come with a fresh download of Firefox.
Still WAY slower than it was with previous versions.
I really liked the old Firefox. And I was running Comodo Internet Security Free then too. And I removed that and re-installed a fresh version. Nothing makes it start up the first time in a reasonable amount of time like before.
    What gives??????

  • Where are rooms inside Lync for Mac?

Where are rooms inside Lync for Mac? (14.0.10)
We do have Lync 2013 server and configured the persistent chats / rooms. People using the Windows version are able to use it but we are not able to see any support for rooms in mac version.

    Hi uıɹos,
Anthony is right that the Persistent Chat feature isn't available at this time in the Mac client.
But in the first half of 2015 Microsoft will release a public beta for the next version of Office for Mac, and in the second half of 2015 Microsoft will make the final release available. And
I believe that it will be supported this time. (http://blogs.office.com/2014/10/31/new-outlook-mac-available-office-365-customers/ )
