Gigaworks S750 and LFE

I work with Sonar and I need to work with ASIO driver and separate channels.
Everything works well, I can manage any single channel but LFE have a logical problem.
I can send input to LFE channel (port 3/2 on my audigy 2 platinum pro) but it doesn't make too much sense seen that all the low frequencies in the other channels are in any case send to the subwoofer. So if I mute the LFE channel I can still hear the bass going to the subwoofer and if I open the LFE channel the output to the sub is doubled.
Any way to handle this issue?
Thanks!

leviathan,
The M-Port is only meant for certain compatible product only. It won't work with the Vision:M unfortunately.

  • GigaWorks S750 and "aux" input...

Hi I want to buy gigaworks s750, but I need to know this thing at 110% before buying: I have to connect a stereo (two channel) source (like cd-player, tape, or minidisc reader) to the port "auxiliary" on the panel near "m-port"; is the sound distributed equally on the seven speakers (and to the subwoofer) or is it played only on "front" speakers?thanks

  • Gigaworks S750 and X-Fi Elite

Hi, sorry to trouble again, the X-Fi console have a DIN output jack, does the S750 speaker have a DIN connector for input? Thanks.
    Chris

    Hi,
I have a similar issue but with the X-FI Elite Pro and the Mega works THX 550 speakers (the Gigaworks 7.1 range was no longer available in Australia only the much lower powered range).
The instruction imply that I should connect the DIN plug to the speaker system, which I did and now sound came through the speakers.
After 6 weeks of going through the Support Centre, it was finally noted that the Mega works THX 550 speakers need to have the wired remote connected in order for the speakers to function. The linkl between the X-FI console and the speakers was not compatibile.
This forces me to use both the external console AND the wired remote. Having said that I do get volume control now via the external consol (as well as via the wired remote), but the sound volume seem to be much less than what I would expect.
As this incompatibility is NOT documented in any of the sales literature AND even the Support Centre were unaware of it, I have been complaigning loudly.
In the process of working out a resolution, I have been advised that even the Crange are not fully compatible with the X-FI console, that is the volume control is not achieved by the DIN cable from console to Sub woofer. Not having the Mega works THX 550 speakers I can not confirm this and would love to hear the comments of thos how have both the X-FI Elite Pro and a Gigaworks speaker.
For the life of me I acnnot understand why Creative would allow the premier prodcuts in each range NOT to be fully compatible with each other and would really love an explaination from Creative (Silo mentaility perhaps between the different divisions?)
Given the problems, the Logitech Z5500 series sounds a better option, even if you are forced into switching off the decoding functionality on the X-FI sound card.

  • Problem with gigawork s750 speakers

I was wondering if someone could help me? I have the gigawork s750 and x-fi elite pro. When I play music only the center, side, rear left and right speakers play all the songs. When I do the check they all work, but I still have no idea how to make them all work at once? anyone help me would be greatly apreciated
    thanks,
    tuggy

Can you confirm that the individual speakers are all working correctly by swapping them around to see if the fault follows the speakers or remains on the channel where they were. If the speakers are ok, then there maybe a fault with the sub woofer or sound card. You could check this by using different speaker system to verify the sound card or connect the speaker system to another sound card, but both are time consuming tests.

  • Help connect X-fi Elite Pro with DDTS-100 and Gigaworks s750

    Hi,
I purchased a brand new Gigaworks s750 speakers system, DDTS-100 decoder and X-fi Elite Pro. I connected the DDTS-100 and Elite Pro using Optical Fibre output from the audio console of X-fi Elite Pro to the optical digital input of DDTS-100. With the cables supplied with s750, I connected it to the Decoder DDTS-100. The problem is I am not getting any sound from the rear speakers and the front speakers. Only the centre speakers and the side speakers are producing sound. I could hear loud hissing sound and very very low volume of the music from the front speakers and no sound from the rear speakers. I can hear good quality sound from the centre speakers and average quality sound from the side speakers. What could possibly have gone wrong with my setup ? Somebody please help me. Thanx in advance.

    Hi Richie,
Thanq for your response. But unlike what you have mentioned, ("what may be happining is the soundcard is decoding the signal and then the ddts is trying to decode it with disatrous results"), In my setup the signal is not getting decoded two times, once by Soundcard and once by the DDTS-100. As I have mentioned that I am taking out an Optical Signal from the sound card to the DDTS-100, the signal comming out from the sound card to the DDTS is Encoded signal only. So there doesnt arise a chance that the signal is getting decoded twice. Can you think of any other reason why my setup is not working? Please let me know.
    regards,
    Rahul M

  • X FI elite pro and gigaworks s750 no sound from speakers but sound from headphones please h

    hi
i own an x fi elite pro and a gigaworks s750
thing is i recently had to format my computer, before which i was getting surround sound through my speakers and headphones normally.
however i can now only get sound through my headphones.
I have the latest drivers installed and i am bald due to pulling all my hair out
if you can help please do
    appreciated
    Fonz

    realwiz,
There's a setting in the mixer software where it instruct the soundcard to mute the speaker when headphone is connected to the I/O dri've bay. Perhaps you can check if that setting has been enabled.

  • GigaWorks S750 7.1 - Interference and Volume issue

    Please provide assistance,
I recently purchased a the Gigaworks s750 along with Creative's Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS.
Here is the problem I am encountering:
When using it for any type of audio, DVD playback being the worst, I get a great deal of interference when turned up past 50% volume on the Gigaworks controller. And to get any sound, I have to have the volume of the controller connected to the sub at a minimum of 50%. If there is no audio, when turned up the interference is totally unbearable.
I have the audio on my PC turned up to 100%, and this goes for every form of audio controller on my PC. If any one of these audio controllers on my PC are turned down, I get very little audio out of the speakers at all?
Is there anyway to get rid of this noise? I would like to have my DVD movies or games with the ability to play at a reasonable volume and be able to hear the fine noises that make a surround sound system worth purchasing. At this point when turned up, 80-100% of volume on sub volume controller, I get so much interference that the only time I can hear decent quality sound is when the sub and music are loud enough to cancel out the annoying interference?
    Please help?
    Sincerely,
    Poor creative customer

I would recommend the G550W if you don't want to risk the S750, I have an S750 set, had to have the sub replaced a single time, but was no trouble at all and only took like 4 or 5 days for the new one to arri've, sets been running perfect for more than a year now

  • Gigaworks S750 + Audigy1 - Only hear left channel in left and right speakers

Since last week I'm the proud owner of a gigaworks S750. Since my new computer went RMA I decided to hook it up on my old computer with an Audigy (SB Audigy E400) audio card.
The original Audigy drivers come with this test program that tests all channels saying "front left", "front right" etc etc through the respecti've speakers.
However, when running this test program I hear the "front left" message through both the front speakers, and the "rear left" message through both the side speakers.
The "front right" and "rear right" messages I don't hear.
I've been looking through the settings of the audigy and reading the manual of the Gigaworks set, but nothing turned up.
My old Philips 4.1 speakerset did not have this problem, so my guess is it's something with the gigaworks.
    Thanks

U sure the speakers are set to 7.1 ? BTW u need Audigy 2 ZS or Audigy 2 Platinum to make all your speakers make the correct sounds. BUY A NEW SOUNDCARD!!!

  • Sound Blaster Sound Cards and Gigaworks S750

I recently purchased a Sound Blaster Zx sound card and found that it only supports up to 5.1 speaker configurations. That means I don't have sound from my side speakers in my Gigaworks S750 7.1 system. Needless to say I am very disappointed with Creative Labs engineers wondering why 7.1 support has been dropped from their very own speaker systems. I am posting hoping some more knowledgeable forum members can offer a better solution to my dilemma.
I could go back to my X-Fi Extreme Music card which has all of the 3.5 mm minijack speaker connectors but I would rather not do this as support for this card has been dropped and I am doubtful that there will be many more driver and/or software updates available. I would also rather not buy a new speaker system b/c I am happy with the Gigaworks and don't really want to replace it.
I looked going back to an older Titanium HD soundcard but it only has RCA connectors on the back of the soundcard and the Gigaworks connectors are 3.5 mm minijacks. The Gigaworks has no optical or HDMI connectors anywhere. I wonder....can I connect the 3.5 mm jacks from the Gigaworks to the RCA or optical ports on the ZX or Titanium HD with an adapter or converter? Does Creative sell new cables or adaptors, or any special audio shop for that matter, that would make the connections work?
    Can anyone help please?
    Thanks!

As I said, that upmix is only a workaround, you still have just 5.1 discrete channels, just that the rear and sidespeakers emit the same sound.
I don't have any experience with Asus or Auzentech. Both have their issues as well but they are both very good and only the very best creative cards (X-Fi Titanium HD, ZxR and perhaps X-Fi Elite Pro) can compete.
On the other side Asus has most of their cards in production for half a decade without alteration and doesn't update their drivers very often as well. Their don't be as many issues as with creative cards, but you will find people having problems as well, it's not like they work flawlessly for everyone.
Same for Auzentech, only they didn't produce as highend cards as Asus and some Creatives (Titanium HD and ZxR only) plus while their dirver support seems to be good, their other support is nonexistant, especially since they seem to have stopped producing soundcards. Additionaly I have heard of the X-Fi Forte mysteriously dying on many people after some years.
The differences aren't great, though, and in my opinion you won't find a soundcard combining everything to perfection. The ZxR nearly does, only lacking 7.1 output.
The Asus Xonar STX is very similar, but can only ouput analoge stereo, while the PCI-based ST can output the very best analoge 7.1 available with a additional daughtercard (but who wants a PCI card nowadays?).
The best 7.1 cards from Asus, D2 and D2X, lack a Headphone-Amp, while the Xonar Xense and Phoebus, being nearly identical to each other, have one but use a slightly lesser DAC for all channels apart from Stereo, similar to the Auzentech X-Fi Forte and Bravura.
The D1 and DX finally are only slightly better than the X-Fi Music and Titanium, because they use a slightly better DAC for Stereo, which is used on Audigy 4 Pro and X-Fi Elite Pro for all channels and for stereo on the soundblaster Z and Zx.
Everything below (Xonar DG(X) and DS(X)) ist far inferior, though the DG(X) sports a cheap headphone-amp even the D2X lacks.
So, if you only want 7.1 as good as possible, the Xonar D2X is the best solution, followed by the D2, Auzentech X-Fi Prelude and Creative X-Fi Elite Pro.
But, if you want to drive very good headphones, too, the Xonar Xense, Phoebus and Auzentech X-Fi Forte will be the better solution.
None of them will be as good as the ZxR, if you can live with discrete 5.1 only.
The minijack cables aren't an option. Just when you connect your Gigaworks to any Asus, Auzentech, Creative X-Fi Titanium card or most onboard codecs you have to use 4 stereo minijack cables, while for any Creative 6.1/7.1 card from Audigy 2 to X-Fi PCI-series you have to use a special 4 stereo to 3 4-pin minijack cable, which probably came with your gigawarks set.
If you want to use any "normal" sound card you don't need any special cable, it's just 4x any normal stereo minijack cable.

  • Gigaworks S750's and X-Fi Titanium

I have noticed that the X-Fi Titanium card has the same speaker connection system on the card as it does on the back of the subwoofer on the Gigaworks S750s ie there are 4 connections to on each labeled the same on each device........the problem is my 7.1 surround sound chord that came with my speakers a few years back have the 4 prongs on one end but only have 3 prongs on the end that connects into soundcard.....these speakers were made with the non pci-e version of the soundcard in mind while the new pci-e card supports all 4 connections on the back. Hpow do I go about in getting an updated cable to fit the new soundcard with all 4 connectoins? I want a cable that has all for connections on each end. The old chord has 4 on one side and 3 on the other.....the side that has the 3 prongs had the gray colored prong merged. Im looking for a new 7.1 sourround sound connection cord that connects the soundcard to back of the subwoofer with all 4 connections on each end/ Does Creative make such a chord now that the new pci-e soundcards are out? If so is there a way to purchase it seperately without having to buy a whole new set of speakers again? Ive had these speakers basically for about 3 years and absolutely love them but I will not spend 500 bucks on a new set to simply get an updated chord.............

Sorry to be a bit blund on this but why don't you just go to the next hifi shop and get yourself some suitable piece of cable? or get some good audio-cable with 8 wires and solder the connectors (which you can also get at any hifi store). this is very cheap and saves you a lot of hassle with the not very supportive creative support...
The selfmade stuff has of course not as high a quality as a good, proffesional audio cable (which usually is very expensive) I would probably compromise and buy 4 stereo 3.5mm male to male cables like these and just tie them together with some velcor cable ties or something like that. this is relatively cheap and still you get sort of acceptable quality.

  • Creative Labs What Is Wrong With Your Manufacturing!!!??!?! RE: Gigaworks S750, XFI e

Ok this is a straight forward RANT! In building my new computer I decided to let Creative be my folks for sound since I've always been impressed with the EAX and surround sound, the first time I played EQ in 4. 3D sound on a first gen SBLi've card I was in awe. I've bought so many speakers and sound cards since and been happy. So I decide with my new computer I will buy the XFI Fatality, Progamer headphones with mic, and the Gigaworks s750 7. speakers. Well I got the headphones and the sound card first, right off the headphones left side sounded blown out to me, so I sent them back, and the new pair worked fine. The XFI card became the issue next I had the cracking and popping noises, I made a few tweaks and was able to kill most of it, but I have 4 gigs of Ram and when I turn on the memory hole in the bios so that XP Pro 64 can see the 4 gigs brings back the popping noises. So I have to turn of 2 gigs of ram that cost me over $300 so I don't have nasty noise when I play games. Oh yea and I sent the card back as well in hopes I'd get a repaired one.... No Such Luck... So then I get to my speakers, the left rear channel is making a sound like a blown speaker so I swap the plug with another channel and its fine and the other speaker in that channel makes the noise, so I send back the sub as a RMA at a cost of $30 to me (not like giving them $800+ for broken stuff isn't bad enough... nothing like salt on the wound.) So after 2 weeks of no sound other than headphones for my gaming, I get my sub back, I hook it up and.... Now the left rear channel is totally DEAD. So now I'm PISSED, I call up and hold it together when talking to the RMA folks. They offer to send me a whole new set of speakers, so I'm thinking cool, maybe its in a cable or the box or something.... Today I get home from work and see the box, I'm like sweet new stuff and spend a good hour carefully rewiring my whole desk with the new speakers and cables. Get it all hooked up and click on the sound test for the 7. and........ The Side Left Channel is DEAD WTF!!!!!!
!!! All I can say is it sucks there is no real competition for sound against Creative, because they know their product will be the demand and if they put out a poorly manufactured item they can get away with only so many people will even bother RMAing and will just li've with it thinking they did something wrong. I am truly disturbed by this trend and can only hope that after I actually get everything working in 6 months or so if they ever fix the noise issue with XFI and maybe a few more RMAs of my sub to get one they TEST before sending it to me... I hate to say it but I think next comp I build I'm going to have to start looking at other sound companies. Its sad to lose faith in a company you hold in such high regards for so long as pioneers. • Connecting DVD-Player with GigaWorks S750

I'm going to buy a GigaWorks S750 system. Will I need an extra decoder like the DDTS-100 when I want to connect the soundsystem with the Computer (with Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro) and one of these things: DVD-Player, Radio, Walkman?
    Thank's for your answers!

No, I wouldn't bother. You can connect both radio and walkman to two of the line-in sockets on the Audigy's external hub. A DVD player can be connected using the coax or optical inputs. One thing you can't do with the Audigy 2 is use Dolby Pro Logic II for PS2 games. If you don't have a PS2 to connect then, that's not really a problem.
