Gigaworks S750 + Audigy1 - Only hear left channel in left and right speakers

Since last week I'm the proud owner of a gigaworks S750. Since my new computer went RMA I decided to hook it up on my old computer with an Audigy (SB Audigy E400) audio card.
The original Audigy drivers come with this test program that tests all channels saying "front left", "front right" etc etc through the respecti've speakers.
However, when running this test program I hear the "front left" message through both the front speakers, and the "rear left" message through both the side speakers.
The "front right" and "rear right" messages I don't hear.
I've been looking through the settings of the audigy and reading the manual of the Gigaworks set, but nothing turned up.
My old Philips 4.1 speakerset did not have this problem, so my guess is it's something with the gigaworks.
Thanks

U sure the speakers are set to 7.1 ? BTW u need Audigy 2 ZS or Audigy 2 Platinum to make all your speakers make the correct sounds. BUY A NEW SOUNDCARD!!!

  • Routing left channel to left and right

I have a split-track audio file I have brought into Logic Pro 8, with instrumental accompaniment in the left channel, and voices in the right. I would like to have the left channel appear in both the left and right channels in the final mixdown. Is there a simple way to accomplish this in Logic?
    Thanks!
    Brian

If you click and hold onto the interleaved symbol at the bottom of the channelstrip a small menue opens giving you the option to set the stereo channel to "mono" - "left" - "right" and "surround". So set it to "left" for the channel carrying the playback and then just use the pan pot to pan the channel where you want it to be in your final mix (center by default).

  • T7700 only left and right speakers working

I bought my speakers awhile ago, and I had no problems. Though I couldn't get my rear and side speakers to work, I found out by changing the speaker settings in the control panel. Now, my rear and side speakers don't work unless I reinstall the drivers. I checked the speakers setting in the Creative Volume Control and it says its 7.1, though my side and rear still dont work, it also says its 7.1 in the control panel. I am tired of reinstalling my drivers just to get my speakers to work properly. I have checked all wiring and it seems okay. When I run the speaker test, I hear sounds from all speakers. Diagnostics are all good but I can't seem to find the problem. I've also tried reinstalling my sound card but it seems to do nothing. Also when I reinstall my drivers and it shows the "restart your computer" prompt and I click "restart computer" it will freeze and I will have to revert to shutting it down improperly, sometimes it will freeze and sometimes it won't, this maybe the problem. PLEASE I REALLY NEED HELP. Thanks in advance.

    Immortaltechniq,
I think you may have a conflict with your card and the system. I would suggest that you cleansweep the card out, and then move the card to a different PCI slot. Once there reinstall the card making sure that your Antivirus is disabled during the process. Here are instructions on how to cleansweep:

  • Left channel is identical to right channel - X-Fi MusicExtr

Iam quite desperated, as described in the topic if i test my speakers within AudioConsole, the left und right channel are 00% the same. Backleft, -right and front are working perfect! Connections are fine

I have the same problem. This is really frustrating as I need this sound card to function as I have connected my Xbox 360 on the external Optical Outputs for "Surround" sound which I am not getting.
I have updated it to the most current drivers hoping this would be resolved but nothing. I have checked all my speakers as well and tried a different sound card where everything works fine except that does not have optical input.
Please if there is any way to fix this problem.

  • How do i isolate Left and right sound on X-Fi ca

    Hey all,
Wonder if anyone knows how to turn off left channel sound and vice versa. I play alot of Karaoke VCDs and they usually have left channel as music and right channel as music with vocal but i can't find the option to turn off either left or right.
I usually do this by using the L/R slider in wondows mixer but when i do this with the X-Fi card the left channel (music only) seems to be a mix of L&R resulting in hearing the vocal. Strangly this doesn't happen when playing in Power DVD the slider method works fine, but with apps like real player, media player, media source etc. the problem presists.
Any Ideas? Appriciate any help ^.^
    (Running X-Fi Platinum with Logitech Z5500 5.)

    Jason,
I've tried turning off cmss but it still doesn't do the job. I find it strange that there is no problem with Power DVD but with other applications. Does this mean it might be a application problem?
    Mmm...running out of ideas....

  • My iPhone only outputs audio on the left channel.

Randomly and without changing any settings, my iPhone has started only outputting the left channel of stereo audio, i.e. when I play a song on it I only hear it through the left channel. I've tried different sets of headphones, same story. Also it has stopped responding to volume changes via the inline remote - play/pause still works....
    What could be wrong??

I am getting audio output from only my left earbud. However, the volume control mounted on the right channel cable is functioning fine. I plugged in another set of earbuds and they seem to work fine.
Can anybody help? Or do I have to visit the Apple store for a replacement of earbuds?

  • Only hearing vocals in left headphone, plug ins on right, why? logic 9

i just bought a new akg mic and N.I. Komplete audio interface.  when i try and record vocals i only hear it in the left headphone, and when i add a plug in on the track i only hear it in the right headphone.  how would i set my pref. to have vocals and plugins play in both?

Sounds like you're creating stereo tracks.
Try creating a new track, and selecting Mono as your Format.

  • USB Audio Device only plays left channel out both speakers.

usually i use my Yamaha Audiogram 3 usb audio device to record things in cubase, and when the cubase settings are set it is fine, but as soon as i close cubase, the left channel of any audio (like itunes playback) plays out of both left and right speakers in the headphones i use. this only happens when the Audiogram 3 is plugged into 1 certain usb port (of 2).
its even fine when i have cubase running in the background while i play music from itunes. it just doesn't make any sense. it also appears to recognize that its stereo in one port, but not the other.
i would suspect it has something to do with the drivers for the usb device (if there even are any), that the drivers it placed into the system only applies to that one usb port, but if thats the case, you would think it would install new drivers for the other port as soon as i plug in my audiogram, but thats not the case.
no cd for the audiogram. you simply plug it in.
ive tried restarting the computer, plugging it in again, trying to change the settings. nothing seems to work. i need the other port to work.

Try resetting the PRAM. Info here:

You may also want to take a look at the Audio MIDI Setup utility and make sure everything is configured properly there.

  • Only hear audio in left earphone

I only hear audio in my left headphone. At first, i thought it was the headphones i was using and changed them, but i am still having the problem. I have to push and maneuver the headphones to hear sound in both ears, but the longer i push it the harder i have to push it. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and knew of a way to fix it.
    Thanks!

I just had my iPod repaired for this problem on Friday. For months, I only had audio coming out of the right headphone.
I e-mailed the support center (I did not go through Apple as I got a better price from an independent supplier in Toronto) and without even looking at it, they told me that the headphone jack was shot.
So, I took it in, and they fixed it right away. When the associate came out with my fixed iPod, I got my headphones out of my purse and went to test it out... and she immediately said "THAT's your problem," pointing at my headphones. I said, "What's my problem?" She took my non-Apple headphones and held up the plug alongside her Apple earbuds... the plugs on non-Apple headphones are ever so slightly longer than Apple earbuds and she said that that's the main reason why headphone jacks give out - because non-Apple headphones are too long and they push it out of place.
You can send it in to Apple to get it fixed, but it'll cost you. My advice is to find an independent service provider and send it in or take it in. It cost me $50 to get mine fixed, and she did it in about ten minutes while I waited.
... and then find some different headphones.

  • ITunes 7 playing only from left and right channels with 5.1 speakers

I have an SB Audigy 1 sound card with Creative Inspire 5200 digital 5.1 speakers, and iTunes only plays audio from the left and right speakers, and the subwoofer. The other 3 speakers work; I've tested them.

I am having more or less the same problems as you guys. Currently I use a soundblaster audigy 4 with "CMSS 3D" function ... it used to work with itunes but started to get all weird with the 7.0 update. If nobody knows how to fix this I will have to use 6.xx again :/
I'd be grateful for any advice as well,
    thanks in advance.

  • Problem with gigawork s750 speakers

I was wondering if someone could help me? I have the gigawork s750 and x-fi elite pro. When I play music only the center, side, rear left and right speakers play all the songs. When I do the check they all work, but I still have no idea how to make them all work at once? anyone help me would be greatly apreciated
    thanks,
    tuggy

Can you confirm that the individual speakers are all working correctly by swapping them around to see if the fault follows the speakers or remains on the channel where they were. If the speakers are ok, then there maybe a fault with the sub woofer or sound card. You could check this by using different speaker system to verify the sound card or connect the speaker system to another sound card, but both are time consuming tests.

  • Record audio Left channel mono playback

I'm new to Captivate and setting up a microphone for recording audio.  Recording equipment is a single microphone into an E-Mu 0404 USB interface.  The interface has 2 mic inputs.  The mic is plugged into the left channel.  Sound is recorded fine, but only plays back on the left channel.  How can I get the single channel treated as mono so playback is on both ears?
    Thanks

    Hi there
Assuming you can do so, perhaps consider a Y connector that makes the mic feed into both channels.
Also, report this to Adobe as I've seen many posts here regarding stereo and only hearing one channel.

  • NI products only sound midi channel 1 of instrument instance

Set it up right. Multichannel Instrument cabled to Audio Instrument in Environment. But only channel one responds in every sub-channel selected in the arrange window. Whew! This is driving me crazy. What am I doing wrong? Port=All. Name of midi channel changes as it should in the parameter window, but I can only hear midi channel one in any subchannel when triggered from keyboard. The only way I can hear the other instruments is to use the NI onscreen keyboard. Still all midi info plays back on midi channel one which is not the sound I want for everything.
What a work out: an exercise in futility. Any ideas?

After letting the problem rest a couple days, I returned to it and got the setup to
work.  I don't know for sure what I was doing wrong in the first place but here is
what I did differently that worked:
Before opening Audition, I opened keyrig.exe and set up the MIDI channels for the
instruments I wanted.  I then SAVED the instrument profile for the GM4 module in the
GM4 Patch folder under the Keyrig Data folder (I think the folder names are correct
but am doing this from memory).
Then I opened Audition, did what I needed to do to get the keyrig loaded to play on a
MIDI track.  I left the MIDI input on <All> and the output on <None> in the Sequencer.
I then clicked on Settings which brought up the keyrig.exe control panel.  Then on
the GM4 module I LOADED the profile I had made above.  Then, as I selected each
channel via the keyboard, I got the correct instrument and was able to record them. So
by "preloading" the instruments instead of trying to select them while in Audition,
    the setup worked.
Observations: Audition and the keyrig.exe software do not like each other.  If I had
the keyrig.exe software open (Settings) and accidentally clicked in a non-button area
of the interface, Audition crashed.  Once I loaded my profile as above, I could then
assign new instruments to different MIDI channels from within Audition but since it
was easy to crash Audition while keyrig.exe was open, I would try to avoid it.  Once
set up--it was a blast to goof around with the different sounds.

  • Audigy 4 Pro - can only get 2 channel sound via SPDIF/optical connecti

I have two PC's, one with an Audigy 4 Pro and one with an Audigy 2 Platinum (A2P), I have my 5. speakers hooked up to the A2P and the A4P connected via the SPDIF to the A2P, I would expect to get 5. - both are setup to use 5. speakers, (I know that as a standard Digital coax/optical connections should handle multi speaker configs my entire A/V sound system (7. Dolby) uses optical and coax and it works fine).
If I run the channel test on the Audigy 4 I can get nothing but sound through the left and right speakers, if I run the test on the Audigy 2 (speakers direct connected) the sound is fine, if I reconnect the speakers to my Audigy 4 I get sound on all speakers so it looks like its an issue with the SPDIF and optical inputs (I tried both).
I have emailed tech support, I'm waiting for them to come back and tell me that the Audigy 4 cannot transmit more than two channels down the SPDIF/optical outs, thats my suspicion anyway, if that is the case then I'm not going to be a happy man and the Audigy will be going back to the store. Could be a driver problem of course as I cant believe they would implement Dolby and THX and only transmit two channels on the optical outs, that would be a bit dumb considering the primary use for digital connections is sound system interconnects.
Anyone with any ideas about this let me know, perhaps theres a hidden setting somewhere or a registry setting that switches the digital outs to carry all signals.

Just before everyone kicks off, heres a response I got from a tech guy at Creative themselves.
If you connect speakers to your sound card using a digital cable
(RCA/SPDIF or optical) then the software speaker test will only output
from two speakers. The reason for this is that the speaker test signal is
not in AC3 nor DTS format.
The signal on a digital connection is either
Optical SPDIF - which is either Stereo PCM signal or AC-3/DTS Bitstream
RCA SPDIF - which is either Stereo PCM signal or AC-3/DTS Bitstream
If you play AC3 (Dolby Digital) or DTS encoded signals, the amplifier
decodes this and outputs it to all 6 speakers (5 satellites & subwoofer)
    discretely.
When playing back stereo signals (such as Wav/CD Audio or MP3/WMA files)
the amplifier may generate 5. output based on the incoming stereo PCM
signal, provided Dolby Pro Logic decoding is available and activated.
Therefore the speaker test should not be relied on when using RCA or
    Optical digital connections.
This applies to all speaker systems equipped with RCA or Optical digital
    connections.
This makes sense to me and I'm pretty happy with it, basically as the reply says above the speaker test does not encode to AC3 hence if you hook two Audigys together and run the test you only get 2 channel output, if you play a DVD which is AC3/DTS encoded on one Audigy and listen to speakers hooked up to the other when both Audigys are connected via SPDIF or optical you should in theory get full playback on all speakers. Hopefully
    Cheers
    Simon

  • Playing back Recorded TV Programs using Windows Media Player and only hearing Sound from Front Speakers

    Hi All,
I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit Service Pack 1 with Windows Media Player 11 installed.
When I click on one of my Recorded TV Programs to watch and hear, I can only hear the Sound coming from the Front Speakers.
When I right-click on the Program and open it up in Real Player Cloud. I can indeed watch the program and hear Clear Sound coming from all 5 Speakers plus the Subwoofer.
What setting do I change to use Windows Media Player and have sound coming from all 5 Speakers and the Subwoofer?
    Thank you!

    Hi Andreas,
    Thanks for the reply.
The link you put up, takes me to the page, but
"The requested URL /surround/www_lynnemusic_com_surround_test.wma was not found on this server."
    That was WaterFox.

    This in Internet Explorer 11.0
The Files in question were Recorded by Beyond TV to my Local Hard Drive.
When I open the recording in Real Player Cloud, installed on my computer, not streaming over the Internet, I hear it correctly played.
When I use Windows Media Player, nothing can be heard from the Rear Speakers.
Speakers and Hardware are working fine.
