I wonder why but since WP 8 Black update Microsoft decided to remove "Check for updates" checkbox, so everyday users have reminder about "Updates are ready for download". Besides Android and iOS have no that intrusive feature.
So tell me please how you planning update windows 8.1 to 10.

Acrobat 8.1.5 or 8.1.6 updates Will Not Install

I cannot get updates 8.1.5 or 8.1.6 to install on my PC. I am running Windows XP Pro SP3, 2G Ram, Adobe Acrobat 8.1.4 (update 8.1.4 obviously installed just fine). The automatic update for version 8.1.5 will not complete; it ends with an error message that gives 3 choices of repeating the update, quitting and continuing later, or cancelling the update altogether. If I try to install 8.1.5 or 8.1.6 after downloading the updates from Adobe's web site, I get this error message: The installation source for this product is not available. Verify the source exists and that you can access it. I have run the Adobe "Repair Acrobat Installation" from the help menu and rebooted the PC, but that did not fix the problem.

This is what worked for me to re-install my Adobe 8 Standard and get updates all the way through Ver. 8.1.6. (I think you should forget about finding the "Source" because I think that is really a red herring and you'll end up spending way more time screwing around compared to simply following these steps.) Also, while the following steps are time consuming, I just don't believe that there is any other way to fix whatever when wrong with any thing in Adobe Acrobat. Consequently, the process does take time, but it works completely.
First, you have to get the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility at this site: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301. Then download the Installer Cleanup Utility and run it. You should get a window which lists all of the programs for which the Windows Installer can be removed. DON'T REMOVE ANY PROGRAM LISTED EXCEPT ADOBE ACROBAT 8 OR YOUR VERSION OF ADOBE ACROBAT. (Also, make sure you have temporarily disabled your antivirus and anti-spam,anti-spyware, etc. programs.)
Second, you will not be able to use Add/Remove programs for Adobe 8 but that didn't matter for me because now that you've useed the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility for Adobe 8, you should be able to install Adobe 8 completely fresh or new just as you did the first time. For me, I just ran my Adobe 8 CD on one PC and ran my other Adobe 8 program download on my other PC (I bought two programs of Adobe 8) and after the programs installed new or fresh, I then proceeded with getting all updates through Ver. 8.1.6. Everything worked just beautifully.
You should note that the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility apparently makes it possible to reinstall a previously installed program because it apparently removes certain program components that would otherwise indicate that the program is already installed. In short, the Utility removes whatever software items are used to keep you from re-installing. Also, when you run the Utility, it effectively renders the Add/Remove Programs function useless for your Adobe program because it no longer recognizes the Adobe program as being installed.
Finally, while I did not need to upgrade to Adobe 9, I believe that if you are having the same error message when you are trying to uninstall Adobe 8 to install Adobe 9, the above-stated process will work just as well for you and you should then be able to make a clean install of your Adobe 9 program.
If you go through the above-stated process and you're successful, please post to the forum so others know that it is certifiably correct. If you go through it and it does not work for you, please post your comments about what went wrong or what did not work, making sure that all of us know which version of Adobe Acrobat you were working with.

If you are a Windows user, try temporarily disabling your antivirus and any other anti-whatever that is required with Windows before beginning the process again.

What happened was you never accepted these apps into your Mac App Store account.
Drag & drop the apps in the Trash and use OS X Recovery to install them again. after installing the apps be sure to accept them into your account this time from the Purchases pane of the Mac App Store.

On new install of FF, loading gives 'The update could not be installed.'

When updating a previous version, I got the 'The update could not be installed' error.
I uninstalled FF and then installed FF v35.
Still have the issue. I looked and found problems with the parent.lock file - deleted any I could find. Same problem, error on restart
I found a note about cleaning out the old updates after an install. I dug around and found one at: c:\Users\smann\AppData\Local\Mozilla\updates. I cleaned it out and, low and behold, no error!
Then, I went into Help/About Firefox and checked for further updates.
The problem has returned.
What gives? How do I get FF to not complain. It appears to be working okay, but, it makes you wonder.

I don't know why this faulty code is referencing things to do with "chrome"... the Chrome browser is not installed on this PC or anywhere on our network.
Also, this is not the first problem I had after clicking Firefox's prompt for the latest update. Before Firefox retreated into this error message, it was loading but running with some faults...
1. the bookmark symbol was not appearing on the right hand side of the URL line, so I had always to click on "bookmark this page", after which the bookmark symbol did appear; however I don't know if the bookmarking function worked properly.
2. the back and forward buttons were not highlighted, as if I had not come from a previous page; so once I clicked on a link to a new page I could not go back to where I came from because Fiefox thought I hadn't come from anywhere.
3. there may have been other errors, but I did not find them.
How do I reinstate my Firefox program to work properly please? do I have to download the latest version and reinstal? if so, do I have to remove the old version first? or is there a fix?
Even to write this message I have been forced to use (yuk -- I don't like to say this!!!) Internet Explorer. So please -- I need help urgently.

Some how I solved my problem by opening a user account and downloading Firefox 4.0 beta and installing it, I did try it, worked fine, so I did close the user account and did go back to my own account(switched user), the main page that I had problem with Firefox which would not open, I dabble click on Firefox it start working again!! I hope that solves your problem too.

Prevent multiple users from updating coherence cache data at the same time

Hi,
I have a web application which have a huge amount of data instead of storing the data in Http Session are storing it in coherence. Now multiple groups of users can use or update the same data in coherence. There are 100's of groups with several thousand users in each group. How do I prevent multiple users from updating the cache data. Here is the scenario. User logs-in checks in coherence if the data there and gets it from coherence and displays it on the ui if not get it from backend i.e. mainframe systems and store it in coherence before displaying it on the screen. Now some other user at the same time can also perform the same function and if don't find the data in coherence can get it from backend and start saving it in coherence while the other user is also in the process of saving or updating. How do I prevent this in coherence. As have to use the same key when storing in coherence because the same data is shared across users and don't want to keep multiple copies of the same data. Is there something coherence provides out-of-the-box or what is best approach to handle this scenario.

actually I believe, that if we are speaking about multiple users each with its own HttpSession, in case of two users accessing the same session attribute in their own session, the actually used cache keys will not be the same.
On the other hand, this is probably not what you would really like, you would possibly like to share that data among sessions.
You should probably consider using either read-through caching with the CacheLoader implementor doing the expensive data retrieval (if the data to be cached can be obtained outside of an HTTP container), or side caching with using Coherence locks or entry-processors for concurrency control on the data retrieval operations for the same key (take care of retries in this case).

How do I get a user to update to the Flash Player Version to 10.1

I would like to find out if there is a way for a message to pop up on my website if the user has Flash Player version lower than 10.1. If the version 10.1 or higher (in the future) no message should come up. The message should prompt a user to update to the Flash Player version 10.1.
My entire site is in Flash and I am using AS3. So I am guessing I should implement an AS3 code on the first frame of the script layer. Does anyone know what would be this code?

I purchased a new Mac Air. I try to update apps and I get this:This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled. They do not show up in 'Purchases'.

It appears Best Buy is up to their old tricks of palming off returned units as new. Take it back for a complete refund of your money. If they give you any static escalate your problem to management immediately.

That error message can be misleading. It means, that iPhoto on your Mac is not associated with your Apple ID.
Either you did not set up your Mac using the same Apple ID - did someone help with your setup and use a different ID? Perhaps a family member? Or did you let someone borrow your installer disks?
Or did you not yet "Accept" iPhoto and other iLife apps to your Apple ID? Check the "Purchased" tab of the App Store, if any applications are waiting to be accepted. If you see "Accept" buttons, press them.
You may be unable to "Accept" now, if you missed the update to iphoto 9.5.1 on Mavericks. You could try to buy iPhoto, however. If you are lucky, it may show for free.
Backup your iPhoto library, if you do not have a current backup.
Uninstall iPhoto by deleting it from the Applications folder, but do not empty the Trash, so you can put it back,if need be.
Launch the App Store, click the "Store" menu, and sign in with your current AppleID.
Open the main page "Featured" of the App Store and search for iPhoto.
If iPhoto is listed as "Free", click the "Free" button to buy it with your current AppleID.

I was in your same situation with 14 downloads and 14 attempts.
You have to make sure that your Mac is booting into 64 bit mode. You can make sure of this by going into System Preferences and scrolling down to 'Software' and making sure that you are booding with 64 bit Kexts.
If not, restart while holding the 6 and 4 keys down until you see the spinning gear wheel and try installng again.
BUT, what I also did was to go into Applications, click on the Lion installer, Get Info, and give yourself custom priviliges to Read And Write.
I did this simultaneously, and I don't know what function did it, but it worked for me, with no further downloads of the installer.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.

I also am getting this message. I bought my 15" mac book pro mid 2010 and at the same time purchased iWork. It is not showing in my purchases on Apple ID, I have never changed my Apple ID since purchase. Why would my Apps not show. There are some there but mostly free ones. I checked it under the Store menu after signing in.
After upgrading from Mountain Lion to Yosemite my iPhoto, iMovie, Keynote,Pages and Numbers need to update. But I get this message.
