Given old ipod but want to keep the songs
My old nano bit the dust and when my daughter got a new Ipod Touch this Christmas she gave me her old ipod nano....I want to keep some or all of her music and the music I have on my library...how do I do this??? Or am I able to do this?
You will not lose the songs that are in your iTunes account, it will sync them to your Nano. It will erase all the songs that are currently on the Nano as they are not in your library. If you change the settings on the Nano on her computer and set it up to manually manage your music you can then manually add the songs to her iPod without losing anything.
As I said earlier, and as you've restated, these are her songs and Apple does not provide a means on the iPod itself, or within iTunes to transfer the songs from the iPod to your computer (or to leave them on the iPod) due to music piracy reasons.
With that disclaimer you might want to use Google and look up Yamipod.

how do i do the music sync?
The music sync is how you got the music from the computer to the ipod in the first place.
You cannot sync it from the ipod to the computer as I explained in the previous post, unless it is itunes purchased music. -

I want to download the pictures from my cameraroll on the my phone, but keep the pictures in my albums. Is there a setting on the phone to protect the albums?
You can import photos from the Camera Roll to your computer using the following instructions: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4083
If you want to keep the photos in your Camera Roll after the import, that is possible; see the link above for instructions.
Importing Camera Roll photos will have no impact on photos in Albums which came to the phone via previous iTunes sync with a computer.
If you want to return some of the imported photos from the computer to the phone, that can be done via a sync in iTunes. Note very carefully: each sync with iTunes sets the non-Camera Roll photos on the phone to match the current iTunes sync settings. That means, among other things, that if you have a previously synced photo on the phone and no longer have it on the computer (or change the location or the iTunes settings for the sync) it will be removed from the phone. -
Hello,
I need to add my new ipod to itunes.
itunes will only show the old, dead ipod that my niece had given me secondhand.
I just got a new one and want to put in it's serial number, etc. but keep the music.
Please help, I've been going around in circles online for hours. I don't want to merely change the name of the old ipod, which is the only info I can find.
Thanks."In addition, I would like to get all of the music files that are already on my ipod on to my new computer"
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
However it appears that no playlists or any other info such as ratings/last played etc will transfer.
If this is important to you, you may want to use other options.
There's Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod to iTunes.
Once the music from your iPod is in your new iTunes library, you can go about adding new music as you did previously. -
Set up new 5th generation ipod but want to keep using old4th generation one
I have just bought a beautiful new 5th gereration ipod as a gift for my partner, which I want to fill with the music from my library.
The ipod is still untouched in its box. Can anyone please tell me how to set it up for the first time, so that my itunes recognises the new ipod, but after loading it with music I can keep using itunes with my old 4th generation ipod?
Thanks!!Sorry, by saying it was untouched in its box I tried to describe in short that I had not done any kind of set up procedere with it. It's true, I took it out once, connected it to the computer, but nothing happened, it was not detected by the computer. I didn't think this was a problem, just thought this was normal and that I had to somehow 'set up' the ipod for the first time before I could load it with music. Now thanks to your help I know how it should have worked. I'll try the solutions offered in the article you gave me. Thanks!!

Software migration to SAP but want to keep the existing database
Dear experts,
My company is planning to replace existing business applications (ASP or ASP .NET applications & Oracle database) with SAP software. Some applications are even still under development. To avoid complete code rewriting, is it possible to keep the existing database & only use ABAP for application logic & user interface instead?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
HarisHi,
SAP database table structure and ASP .NET database table structure are totally different. Hence simply keeping the base oracle database same and changing the covering programming layer from ASP to ABAP won;t help.
You will need to redevelop everything in ABAP from scratch.
Hope this answers your query.

Contract ends but want to keep the same plan, What should I do
My contract ends next month, and I am not interested in getting a new device. So, what steps I should do. If I don't do anything, will the Verizon will continue my current plan.
You can continue to use your device on a month to month plan if you like the service you get with Verizon Wireless. Nothing will change on your plan. My account has been on a month to month plan since April and it works fine.
If you want to switch to another carrier, you can do so after your contract is expired without an ETF (Early Termination Fee). -
I want to tranfer music off my old iPod but it says I can't because the music is linked to a different version of iTunes store. What do I need to do?
Found a resolution. Got a FREE introductory offer from the net and used it to download my music to my computer and then could drag over to iTunes.

Hi: I got my ipod in 2011 and synced it to my old computer. The music that Is on it is from imported cd, so I cannot transfer purchases to my new computer. I also want to keep the settings, favourites, folders, and information that is on my ipod. How do i sync it to new computer? Please Help.
You will also have to copy the iPod backup file to the new computer and then restore your iPod from backup using that backup. The file is located here:
iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: If you do not see the AppData or Application Data folders, you may need to show hidden files (Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7), or iTunes may not be installed in the default location. Show hidden files and then search the hard drive for the Backup directory
You can also make a backup on the new computer by conneting the iPod and right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and selecting BackUp. When you retore from backup sometime the app folder structure get messed up. -
Hello everybody,
I would like to copy all the songs from one Ipod into another. All the songs are into my Itunes account, I tried to drag and drop the songs from the old Ipod to the new one but it doesn't work. Is there a way to do it ?
I share one Itunes account with other people from my family and one person would like to keep the same songs on the new Ipod as the ones which were on the old one.
Thanks in advance for your answer.
YanHello Chris,
Thanks for your answer. I was hoping for an easier answer. Too bad there is no drag and drop solution, it would have been much easier.
Thanks for answering so fast.
Bye.

My iPhone, iPad and iPod are all associated with the same Apple ID. How can I remove the iPod and associate it with a new Apple ID without affecting the data on the other devices (note: there is no data on the iPod I want to keep)?
Very simple. Turn off Find my iDevice, then Tap Settings, General, Erase, Erase all content and settings.
