Given someone else's phone number

I have signed up to BT for the first time and in my package should have:
A phone line
BT infinity
BT vision
Having had the engineer turn up a day later than arranged online I have been given the wrong phone number. I had the current owner of this phone number phone me last night and I passed this mistake to BT over the phone on Tuesday. I have not had a reply to let me know that someone is looking into this for me.
I wouldn't mind, but now my BT vision is no longer working as this is linked into my phone number and not the wrong phone number that I have been given.
Has anyone else had this issue and how long did it take for BT to correct?

It should be fairly easy to fix, probably some crossed wires somewhere.
Make sure that there is a fault report out for it.
You could try Live Chat
and see if they can give you a fault update.

I have someone else's phone number linked to my apple ID. Others are unable to reach me via my own phone number on FaceTime. Anyone who can help?

On your iPhone go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive
In that menu you can select/deselect what emails can use iMessage on that device. This worked....just figured it out by dialing through menus.

Someone else's phone number showing in my "Can be reached" option ....

My phone just gave me a notification saying "Name is now using [email protected] & 1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx for Facetime and iMessage."
When I open my settings for both Facetime, and iMessage, this persons phone number appears. I don't have it check marked, as I don't want my messages and Facetimes going to her phone. The notification only advised of the change, didn't give an option to accept or decline this change.
Is there a way to remove my information from her device?
Does this mean that her messages and notifications will be coming to my phone?
** Just as background information if it helps any, I had another iPhone that I sold to this girl. It was completely reset before I gave it to her, and she has been using it for several months now. But I am just getting this notificaton now. I obviously have her number that I can message her at if I cannot have this removed myself, but I don't have to rely on someone else to remove my information. Anyone who can offer help would be greatly appreciated.

Not that I'm aware of, but it is possible. It was her first smart phone, so I breifly went through all the stuff she could do, so It's possible I may have linked it to something not realizing it.
I was on my iTunes account just now and it did show 2 devices linked with iTunes in the Clouds .. so I removed the other one, but I am going to change the password now to delink it just to be sure.

Someone else's phone number used to be assigned to an iPhone

I am an iPhone user and I am attempting to send text messages to someone who has an Android phone.
The messages are not being received by that person. Apparently the receiving phone number was previously assigned to an iPhone, and my outbound message is being erroneously sent as an 'iMessage' even though the intended recipient does not have an iPhone.
This means that someone else -- whom I do not know -- is receiving these messages.
AT&T - the other person's carrier - has not been helpful so far.
The problem isn't with my phone - it's working fine - it's with the interaction between AT&T and this other person's iPhone.
How can we get this resolved?

AT&T can't do anything other than assign a new phone number to the individual with the phone. They can't disable the iMessage activation that's tied to the number.
Did this person have an iPhone, then get rid of it, or did they just get a new number that happens to have been tied to iMessage previously by someone with an iPhone? That seems unlikely...

If I click on the adobe.ly link Rajshree gave you, above, there is a phone number at the bottom of the Customer Support contact webpage.
This is the number I see when logged in with an AdobeID associated with the US is:
800-833-6687
It is possible that you are somewhere else in the world and the webpage is smart enough to give a different phone number, so the number I see may or may not be applicable to where you are.
It also may be advisable to use the Chat instead of the phone, because it may be easier to understand what someone is typing than trying to interpret their English through whatever accent they are speaking with.

Got someone else's tracking number...wth?

So I'm in the same boat as all of you. Preordered a 6+ last Friday, with an expected ship date of 10/14. Ok fine. I checked my order status on Monday (with MY confirmation number and MY last name) and got a tracking number. At that point, I was shocked. Tracked the package this morning and it's headed to New York. WTH? I'm in Washington state. How do I put in my order information and get someone else's tracking number??? Beyond frustrated!!!

I just had the same thing happen to me today. Ordered the 6 plus 64GB on 9/12 space grey with a delivery date of 10/7. Then I got a tracking number about 1.5 hrs ago. It was going to NC and I'm in Atlanta. Now the tracking number is missing. Customer service when I ordered the phone said 9/19. Then when I got the confirmation it changed to 10/7. This is annoying. I have no idea what's going on anymore. Just hope it comes to me soon.

I was forced to log in on find my iphone on someone else's phone. I know the person can't track me while my location services is off but there are many times I need to use maps for directions. Is there a way to log off on their phone? (No going on there phone is not an option. This person literally showers with their phone.)

Well the best thing you can do is call an apple specialist tomorrow because there closed today or talk straight up to the person that is currently hacking your apple ID. You can also change your password just try to login to apple id on a computer and say forgot password and it will lead you from there. Tell your family and Friends or who you were texting that thats not you.

Hi, I would like to contact someone who can solve amongst other things my billing issue. I am unsure how to find the about me section to contact someone. Last Friday my phone, Internet etc became unusable. I had no dial tone etc. Sky would not connect either. I called and had to wait a week for an engineer. Before the engineer arrived, I found out by calling my number that someone else over 5 miles away answered!! On checking my bill I have found that I have been charged for her numerous calls. I am seeking a refund of the call charges, a refund of my broadband, line rental and other charges. I am also seeking compensation for that period. Thanks

Hi. Have you tried to contact billing by dialling 150 from a BT line. They should be able to credit any calls made from your line whilst the fault was present. You can not claim compensation but BT will give you back any line rental you have paid if the line has not been repaired by the end if the 3rd working day.

HT201303 Someone Using my Phone Number for iCloud & FaceTime

I have just set-up my new iphone5 (including iCloud password) when I received the following message "izzy is using +61--- --- --- for iCloud and FaceTime". How/why can someone be using my number - is this a mistake by apple or a legitimate scam? If this is a scam, could you please advise on the course of action I should take.

Associate your mobile number with your Apple ID, if you haven't already done so.
Sign out of iMessage on the Mac:
Messages ▹ Preferences ▹ Accounts ▹ Sign out
and on the iPhone:
Settings ▹ Messages ▹ Send & Receive ▹ Apple ID ▹ Sign out
Then, on the phone, tap
Use Your Apple ID for iMessage
Sign back into iMessage on both devices and test. If there's no change, you may have to wait for a change in network conditions.

Some people have been able to resolve this bug by going to System Preferences/Sharing and turning off all sharing.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

IPhoto only recognizing someone else's phone?

My boyfriend has used my Macbook a few times to charge his phone. Now when I plug mine in, iTunes shows that my phone is plugged in, but iPhoto seems to think my phone is my boyfriend's. None of my pictures show up, and my boyfriend's phone shows along the side of iPhoto. My pictures won't come up either. Just blank squares where my boyfriend's pictures would have been. Any idea how to get iPhoto to forget my boyfriend's phone? When I click my boyfriend's phone in iPhoto, my only option is to "unmount" it. When I do that, it disappears, but it reappears when I plug my phone in again. Thanks in advance!

What you meant by this is the call waiting service... is it??
When you call a person.. in any case, if he/she on a call blackberry doesn't show you saying waiting... is that what you're trying say??

Every time I try to import my photos, someone else's phone pops up. Please help!

A couple of months ago I used someone's iPhone to get on the Internet with my computer. Now I am trying to import photos through iPhoto and that persons iPhone is popping up. No matter what I do I can't get his iPhone off of my iPhoto's. please help!

If you are trying to upload images from your iPhone, disconnect the cable from the USB port of the computer, then connect it.
You should see the phone re-appear in iPhoto's left column. If it still has your friends name, and not the name of your iPhone, then quit iPhoto, and launch itunes. You should see your iPhone listed in iTunes. You should be able to rename the iPhone to your name, on the summary screen.
It sounds like someone changed the name of your iPhone.
