Given up on MAIL

I have tried everything suggested both by users and Apple but I can not get Mail to accept messages or send them and now can't even access the password.
Is there any way I can get my I Mac to bring up my working e-mail which happens to be TDS, when using I Photo, etc. so if I want to e-mail a photo, the old Mail does not come up and take all the information, which I am then unable to send?

Check TDS Preferences for a +"Make xxx your default email"+ setting. You should do the same thing in your browser Preferences in case your browser has this setting also.

My hard drive is filling up at the speed of light.
In order to free some space, I have moved all music and videos on a NAS.
I wish I could save some more space by leaving my older mails in the cloud, and just store locally in the mail app a given number of mails, or a given period, or a given space allocation.
Is there a way to implement any of those solutions?

You are presumably using IMAP for gmail. Have you seen the Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Gmail > Advanced setting choices for Keep copies of messages for offline viewing?

The first choice is the default. As long as you always have a good network connection, you could select the last choice. This wouldn't not be as nice as a time-based setting.
Keep in mind how cheap hard disks are. I spent $60 for a 500GB 7200rpm drive for my old MacBook.

Every mail service provider imposes such limits. The limits for iCloud are given here:

Mail attachment with UDF in SAP PI 7.1

I need to reproduce this solution in PI 7.1

It is about adding lines of a message as an attachment to a mail.
The UDF works for all elements except the lines for the attachment itself.
In order to build the content of the attachment (for this particular requirement) they are using a global variable declared and initialized in the global sections.
But the button for the Java Section to use an imported archive is no longer available in PI.....
So how to solve that issue?
I tried to use a graphical variable instead of a global variable but I have no idea how to add the n lines
from the source message as one import object into the UDF via that graphical variable.
Your ideas are very appreciated!

is about a different solution. I do not need to count the number of lines of the source message.
And the second variable is about concat line by line from unbound node to unbound node.
My issue is:
Souce:
Message line (0...unbound) ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
.    ResultLine   (1..1)
Mapping:
=>   ResultLine1
       ResultLine2
       ResultLine........          => into UDF to an element (1..1) in one mapping operation.
So that all "ResultLine"s are included.
The result is explained in the given link for Mail attachment with UDF.
So I am not sure how to use this thread for my issue.
In the comments of that blog Christoph Gerber writes that the new variable feature can only handle single values.
So it is not suitable for my purposes as I have a list of values here that needs to be moved into the target message field.

Ive just embedded a mail chimp sign up form into the footer of my website. In dreamweaver i changed the font and positioning with css to style it how i wanted.
It shows up fine in the dreamweaver design window but not upon upload. What have i done wrong?!

Well the creating a css rule without the specific code given on the mail chimp website didnt seem possible. I was only able to edit the text and not the data entry field or submit button. Following the instructions on teh mail chimp website did get me so far but ive hot a brick wall now!

Mail Adapter Settings ??

Hi Experts,
Please let me know how to use Connection Parameters for Mail Server in the MAIL ADAPTER.
1) Here, What is the URL stands for ?
2) User Name and Password is related to what ?
I initailly gave the Company ID and Password, so it worked.
But later when I tried with GMAIL it didnt work.
What is the significence of Mail Attributes given in the Mail Adapters down side.

URL stands for the mail server URl, userID is also mailserver userID(not mail ID) and pwd also server password, by using this authentication details only we can able to connect to the mail server.
If you want to send the attachments then
By using the mail atttributes Mail package and Keep attachments we can send the attachments. And in the Module configuration tab we can get one default file and we add 3 more files that are
Transform.ContentDescription
Transform.ContentDisposition
Transform.ContentType
These files are available on the Net you can search for that files.
Ex : URL : smtp://10.30.200.107
Select the configure user authentication check box and Authentication method is Plain and give the user id and password for the mail server.

Attachments with mails

I usually get pdf files (ebooks) with my mail which I save for reading later. I am unable to do it on my iPad Mini. Can someone tell me how to save these files so I can look them up later, with Adobe Reader app, or maybe some other app/folder. This also goes for other files too viz. pics, music, etc.

Thanks for your suggestion. I tried using this system, and on keeping my finger pressed on the attachment, I got three options: Open, Add to reading list ad Copy, nothing like what you should on the screen shot.
Adobe Reager is good for me, just how to get it there is the question.
What happes yo music files/audio recordings in the mail. Will have to try that too, for downloading from links given in the mail.

Mail Configuration in SAP 4.7 IDES

I have SAP 4.7 IDES at my home. I want to do Mail Configuration to send mails from SAP. I do have Internet Connection.
I have done the following setting in <b>SCOT</b>.
1. In <b>SMTP</b> Node, the checkbox <b>Node in use</b> is checked
But when I send mail using a small ABAP Program it is going to SAPs <b>Inbox</b>.
I was not able to send to my <b>Yahoo mail</b>.
Do suggest if any more settings are required.
What value should be given to <b>Mail Host</b> in <b>SMTP</b> Node ?

Red icon indicates that the message could not be sent. In your program, if you are using the FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1, along with put_in_outbox option, and the mail does not come in outbox, then you can be sure that there are some mistakes in SCOT settings. If the message is there in outbox(in business workplace) and SOST shows a red, then please check your code...if you dont populate the internal tables for your messages correctly, then the mail will not be sent even though you may get sy-subrc = 0 on execution of the mail FM.

Mail Won't Display Messages

Recently, starting May 18th, my mail shows it is receiving messages, but they won't display. I can see them coming into the server, but nothing displays. For example, when I send a test email from my Gmail account to my hosted email account, I can see the message coming in under the "Mail Activity" screen (lower left), but then nothing comes up.
I'm hosting my websites and using my iMac as a mail server.
I've been working on this for days, and nothing has worked. Just to recap:
I've "Rebuilt" every email box multiple times
I've deleted the "Envelope Index" file, and allowed mail to re-import everything
I've deleted all the security certificates from the system, except for the website security certificates, and issued new certificates
I've tried using Firefox Thunderbird for an email client, and I get the same problem
I've deleted all unnecessary emails
I can send email from outside accounts to my server, and it works just fine. No errors, and I can see the message coming in just seconds later.
All email accounts connect and the "Connection Doctor" gives me green lights on everything.
This was a very sudden problem, and I did have 2 updates recently. One for iTunes and one for the Thunderbolt controller. Neither of which should have given me any mail issues.
So what would cause the messages to remain hidden?

The bottom line is, if your server is not properly setup for mail, it just won't work. Obvious really, but the not so obvious is Apple syntax required for a proper server configuration. Such as using "www.yourserver.com" as your FQDN. Of course, this has never been an FQDN, "www" is a Microsoft sub-domain.
Hopefully, Apple will fix this in the future so it's not contrary to Internet industry standards. Currently, this is very confusing and difficult to establish standards because the Apple environment doesn't see Internet domains the way they're established in the industry.

Error Message: Mail could not be saved

Just transferred all files from old G4 to new Intel Mac Mini. Mail receives and sends mail without a hitch. However, as I compose messages, I now get a drop down panel that says: Error: The message could not be saved. There are no messages in either the Sent or Draft folders.
My ISP is AOL. Sent messages are stored there, although in Preferences the option to store Drafts or Sent Messages is not checked.

I don’t know what’s going on here. I’d set up Mail again from scratch, check that things work fine, then import your mail back afterwards as follows:
1. Quit Mail if it’s running.
2. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/. Move (not copy) the entire Mail folder out of there, to the Desktop.
3. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Preferences/. Locate com.apple.mail.plist and move it to the Desktop.
4. Open Mail and set it up again from scratch. If given the option to import existing mailboxes or something like that, don’t. Just enter the account information and check that everything works fine. Be sure to turn OFF Store messages on the server for all the mailboxes and all the AOL accounts in Preferences > Accounts > Mailbox Behaviors.
5. You’ll have to re-configure all your settings in Mail > Preferences. For spam-related security reasons, the first thing you should do is go to Preferences > Viewing and disable Display remote images in HTML messages if it’s enabled.
6. If Mail works fine now and you had any messages stored in local mailboxes, do File > Import Mailboxes, choose Mail for Mac OS X as the data format, and follow the instructions to import your mail from the old Mail folder that’s now on the Desktop.
Given how ~/Library/Mail/Mailboxes/ is organized in your case, I suggest moving the “On My Mac” folder out of there (e.g. to the Desktop), then separately import the resulting “Mailboxes” and “On My Mac” folders.
If all is well and you don’t miss anything, the files on the Desktop can be deleted, although you may want to keep them for a while, just in case.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. You can easily locate any of the folders referred to in this post by copying the folder path here, doing Go > Go to Folder in the Finder, and pasting the folder path there.
