Giving Credit Where Due

For once I'm not posting in this forum with a complaint.
I finally gave up on Ovi Suite a few months back, as I simply couldn't stand to continue troubleshooting the synchronization error between Ovi/phone and Outlook 2010. It became more trouble than it was worth.
This evening however, I downloaded the new Nokia Suite speculating my phone software could be out-of-date. I cautiously risked syncing again, using only a small period of time... and lo and behold, the Suite (knock on wood) appears not to be pushing all my Outlook events to the previous (incorrect) day. I'm so happy I may even reconsider my resolution to blacklist Nokia at the conclusion of this phone contract.
Anyway, I've never hesitated to let Nokia hear it when I'm irked, so it only seems right to express my unanticipated satisfaction on this occasion.
Keep it up!!

  • Showing I'd has not been reviewed in iTunes..and payment has been declined even after giving credit card.

Apple I'd created has been showing not reviewed in iTunes.. And the payment has been declined after giving credit details... Not sure about it..

    Hello Abiez,
Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
I understand you are having issues adding payment information to your account. In my experience, this usually occurs due to two common reasons (though there may be more):
If your account information does not match your credit card, you may get a message stating "The credit card was declined."
To expand on the above, your billing name or address may not match the address listed on your credit card statement. Any discrepancy in punctuation, abbreviation, or capitalization can cause errors, which might prevent you from purchasing from the iTunes Store. If you moved, or if your zip code changed recently, ask your credit card company to make sure their records are up to date and match exactly what you are entering as your billing information.
The iTunes Store will place a minimal authorization hold on your credit card each time that you update your account information (equal to around 1 USD). The authorization hold is not a charge. The authorization hold is placed on your credit card to make sure that the information provided matches the information on file with your financial institution. The authorization hold will not be displayed in your iTunes Store purchase history.
If there are insufficient funds in the account to cover the authorization hold, you may experience issues with adding payment information.

    Hi,
Usually it can be determined using the field shkzg. If it contain 'S' its debit and if it contains 'H' then its credit.
    Before showing the amount you need to do like;
    IF wa_gl-shkzg = 'H'.
    wa_gl-dmbtr = wa_gl-dmbtr * (-1). " dbmtr - amount
    ENDIF.
    This will solve your problem.

Hi when i am giving credit card number in payment gatway it should change to password dots , how it is possible, which plug in i have to use for this feature...

    Hi vishwanath123-
Most websites when asking for your credit card do encrypt your password, but it is not based on a plugin. The website is responsible for securely receiving and storing your data. If you do not trust the website is secure, be careful with your data.

  • Credit where credit is due ......

It's rarely that you get good comments in a forum, it's the nature of the beast, handy for info but mostly used as a means to complain, as they should be.
In light of this, I have a good story, and would like to thank the Glasgow based BT Openreach engineer who visited me yesterday to install BT Infinity.
I am in a Glasgow Tenement, one building with 6 flats, and I'm on the top floor. The old telephone layout was not ideal, with a old style master socket in the kitchen, extended into the living room for the phone, and further extended down the hall into my room for the PC and ADSL2+. This gave me a quite reasonable 12 - 13 Mbit connection.
I had visions of the master socket being replaced, the high speed modem connected in the kitchen. with a mains extension lead to to power it. Then a CAT5 cable would then have to be routed out of the kitchen via the living room and hall to get to my room, the PC and the Home Hub. Again, not a particularly good scenario, but workable.
The Openreach engineer took one look at it and decided to spend some extra time moving the master socket to my room, rather than leaving it in the kitchen. He drilled up through my ceiling into the loft, and ran a new cable from a new master socket next to my PC, up to where the junction box is, somewhere in that huge, mangy loft.
He then used my old extension cable used for broadband, snipped the socket off and installed it into the new master socket. At the the other end in the living room, he snipped the old plug off and fitted a standard telephone socket for the phone.
He was helpful, chatty, and willing to give out information. It was a job well done, and I would like to thank him for it ....... Cheers!

You've just highlighted the reason for many complaints.
Individually, BT employees do a great job, and genuinely try their best for the customer.  It falls apart when the customer has to deal with people who are NOT BT employees.
The front line Help Desk - which provokes most of the anger and frustration from customers, is not owned, staffed or run by BT at all. It's an Indian subcontractor (HCL Technologies). Their primary concern is their own profit line, not the welfare of BT's customers. As long as they meet their call handling targets, BT is happy.
So who contracts them and continues to do so dispite the many complaints ?
Could it be BT in the inteest of their profits perhaps ?

  • Credit where it's due

Amidst the less-than-impressed tales in these early days of the mac app store, I have a small but impressive good news story to share.
Yesterday I found myself in a confusing situation. It was my first encounter with the app store (although very used to the iphone one), and I ended up unintentionally paying for an upgrade on a formerly freeware app that had suddenly become shareware and downloadable exclusively through the app store.
I contacted the developer, who was very sympathetic but informed me he couldn't do anything. I then contacted the MAS staff, and got the following response in under 24 hours:
I understand that our new Mac App Store is causing a few adjustment problems. When it comes to your money, I can certainly appreciate how important it is to feel that you are treated fairly, and I would be more than happy to help you out with this today.
I'm very happy to report that I have approved the order for refund. The order containing this item is currently processing. Your request is flagged for follow-up and I will initiate the refund as soon as the order is processed. I will email you again when the refund has gone through. Thank you for your patience in this matter.
I look forward to speaking to you again, and I'll do my best to resolve this issue.
Now that ain't bad, especially from a company the size of Apple

    Hi,
I'm just a helper here, but it sure is nice to hear positive input!

  • Credit where it is due.

I noticed a crack in my 3gs after reading around I heard it seems to be something that does turn up from time to time. It is always kept in a case and has never been dropped.
So I booked a Genius appointment at the Exeter U.K. Apple store.
I went in today, they took one look, looked for the red water damage signs and replaced it straight away no aggro.
Great customer service the bloke Danny on the genius bar was brilliant, so good to walk into a place and get great service.

I have always had great service from the Apple Store in Newcastle.
They have replaced my Headphones free of charge, and cleaned my iPhone for me. They even replaced a mates iPod Touch when the screen stopped working - no questions asked, just handed over a new one. Service like that is hard to find these days!
    Well Done Apple.

  • Give Credit Where Credit Is Due - OOT

THANKS SO VERY MUCH FORUM PEOPLE!!
i've done nothing here except ask a bunch of questions, most of the time questions you've likely answered 1 gigatimes before. I've gotten all straight answers and sugestions.
I've seen people be so greedy and secretive about knowledge, it just seems amazing that people will put themselves on the line for almost nothing. I've thought what could i do to repay, couldn't think of anything but writing something like this. If ya guys are ever in Argentina, lemme know and i'll throw you a party or something.

    P.S.: If there's anything i can do...

Good to hear a positive side to Infinity.

  • Sale Order Credit Block due to open credit memo

    Dear All,
System is blocking sale order for open items(credit). And the only open item is credit memo.
Can we avoid credit note to be considered as open item?
    Thanks
    Arun

    Dear Arun,
Do not think this is possible in standard.
I would suggest the following way.
Currently system is giving a message during sales order creation . right?
Ask your abaper to find an EXIT before that point.
There write a code to exclude CREDIT MEMO document types from BSEG of the customer code.
It is possible as i have worked in similar requirement.
    Check and revert back.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • How can I create an iTunes account _without_ giving credit card details?

    Hello,
I'm from Israel, and due to iTunes incompatibility with Israeli credit cards, I cannot sign up for iTunes. I want to use it to comment on albums and songs, (get the free content offered to users '^_^ ,) store my favorites so I could have a list of what songs to buy at the store, etc.
I've heard there is a way, though I don't know how.

    Thanks guys, especially Dave.
@Chris: I'm trying to sign up to the US store, of course. I know there isn't an Israeli store, still, I wanna 'participate' in the store with comments, iMixes, etc.
As it has been said, but without a US based credit card and billing address, this is impossible
@Dave: Thanks alot, I thought I can use an iTunes gift card... I'll buy a virtual one soon, and then use it to sign up for iTunes. Thanks again! :-D.
Gift cards are regional as well and still require a US based address in your case. You have to show some kind of residency in said country to buy it.
Sorry, but thats the way things work.

Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old

  • Credit note due date

    Hi
Client wants the due date in a credit note (A/R) to reflect a date according to the Payment term of a customer. This I can achieve with a formatted search. The payment terms for  customers are -
    30 days
Due date based on posting date
Start from month end + 1 month + 7 days
    60 days
Due date based on posting date
Start from month end + 2 months + 7 days
How to do a SQL query like that is a bit advanced for me.
    Can anyone help, please?

    Hi,
The Due date will be grayed out in the Credit memo in case it
    was based on an Invoice.
In case the Credit memo is not based on another document, the Due date
will be changeable as mentioned in the note [941272].
it is by system design that credit memos retrieve their due date from
their posting date and not based on the defined payment terms
This behaviour is consistent through all versions.
