Gl a/c short and long text based on company code

Hello Friends,
In table skat the gl account description is given based on chart of accounts but what if i want the description based on company code.
I want the table where i can get the gl account description based on company code??
Pls suggest.

Hi ,
In the transaction related to PO select the path goto->header texts and then details of the texts like ID,objectname,language,name.Pass all theses details to 'READ_TEXT ' FM. Then you will get text lines described for a perticular Po ,similarly for item also.

In ECC6,how to use tcode se63 to translate short and long texts?

In sap 4.6c, I know how to use tcode se63 to translate short and long text. However, in ecc6,when i use se63 to translate abap data element short texts, i cannot save it .A error message appare: Could not save target text Message no. SKTY000.
Can any body help me?

Short and long texts

Dear Experts,
I have many BW objects (like Infocubes, Infoobject catalogues, Infoobjects) for which no short and long texts are maintained in one language. Now, all these are in use in the production system. I have to edit the short and long texts for all of these objects. My intention on how to do it is to,
1) Logon to the Development system
2) Edit short texts manually for all of the objects.
3) Collect the changed objects in Transport organiser and transport to the productive system.
My only question is does we need to do any thing in the production system after transporting these objects for them to get reflected.
Any help and other thoughts are greatly appreciated...

SAP Script - T&C on 2nd and last page based on company code

Hi Experts,
I have got a requirement from client to print the T&C page in PO script as 2nd page if company code is 1000 & it will be the 4th page if company code is 2000 (for rest it will be 2nd only).
I am not sure we can put some conditions through some code or not. if so then where to put such conditions and what will be the code.
Right not my pages are navigating as below:-
Page1 -> Terms
Terms -> Next
Next <> Next
Note: Next is for subsequent po items.

You could try using "Command" to place your logic on the page navigation based on the company code criteria.

Display short and long texts

Hi,
I have a hierarchy with node names more than 20 characters....The report displayes the node name with 20 char correctly, if it is more than 20 char it truncates the word and only displays 20 char....
I tried changing the Key& Text to Medium ....but it is not working....
Can anyone help....It is an urgent issue.....

recently we migrated to NW2004 bi7. we have one query using hierarchy, in that we are not getting medium text, only short text is displayed..

Creation of short text and long text?

Hi,
We create short text by using oe_fnd_attachments_pub.create_short_text_document and oe_fnd_attachments_pub.add_attachment API and to create long text we use fnd_documents_pkg.insert_row .
Why is it that we have different approaches for creation of short text and long text?
I know that oe_fnd_attachments_pub.add_attachment is used to attach a short text to some entity,but then why we dont do the same for long text?
Please lemme knw urgently ...

I looked into the document and i got to know few things as to how short and long text are created, but can u tell when the records are inserted into fnd_attached_documents, because i can see that records are inserted into fnd_attached_short_text and fnd_attached_long_text, fnd_documents but i dont see any insertion into fnd_attached_documents, can u lemme knw how and when it is done?

Showing short , medium and long texts together

I have 0material and have navigational attribute -subdivision.
I need subdivision to be seen in the report as following
<b>KEY | TEXT SHORT | TEXT LONG</b>
is there a way to show those together in Reporting?
I know i can show KEY- SHORT TEXT or KEY-LONG TEXT but they are not useful for me.

Hi Mete,
you need to add the subdivision as infoprovider. Create a infosource just for subdivision and short and long text. Assign the text datasource to that infosource. Add 0txtsh and 0txtlg as attributes to the subdivision. Create a update rule from your new infosource to subdivision and update the subdivision and txtsh and txslg. But here you need to concentrate on just one language. Additonally post that new infosource to the texts as well providing the language key as well.

Hi Atul,
I think you can enter short description & long text seprately for a WBS while creating entire struture of project in PS only. I don't think other than PS you will be able to enter short & long text for individual WBS.

Difference betwen short text and long text

what is the difference between short text, long text and variant.

Hi,
Short text is the short description you give for an object or field simlarly long text is the long description for a object or field.
Short text cannot have lenght more than 20 and long text more than 60.
Variant means for example if you give certain values as an input in one of your transaction for testing and you want the same values to be used every time you test in that particular screen, then instead of inputting the values again n again you call the variant.

Display short, medium, and long text in a query

Hi all, we have a requirement to display the short, medium, and long text of an info-object in our queries. Currently, it seems that you can only select one text lenght at a time but not all three of them together. Aside from creating texts as attributes, is there a way to display all of the texts of an info-object?
For example, we have internal orders with 3 texts. When we run the query, we need to see the order number, then the short text, medium text, and long text. Is this possible?

yeah you are right, we can get all the texts as attributes. Other than that you can only get any one of them.

Hi,
You should be able to read the Order short text directly from table AUFK. The Order long text or task list long text can be read by using FM "Read_text". Use Goto> Header on every long text screen to identify the parameters that need to be passed hen using this FM.

Mass upload of characteristics and long text for Object Links in DIR

hello all
I want to upload characteristics and long text of Linked Objects in Documents: i wanted to use BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE and family but, it is a class that is on a different level than the DIR as it does not belong to the DIR directly, but to objects that are linked TO the dir, via the tab linked object.
any idea on how I can do that?
LSMW and recordings do not work (or at least I did not find a way to make them work);
have you encountered such a situation?

May I ask what you mean by solution? You can download from SE11, but where are you going to store 2.7 million rows and what tool are you going to use to store it?
You probably need a (small) program that extracts what you want, then opens a dataset in an appropiate server-system folder, and transfers the data rows to the dataset as fixed-length or tab-delimited file. It's been done many times, so suggest that you search.
