  • Attendance/Absence type sort order on portal timesheet

    Hi,
I'm quite new to ESS/MSS, so I'm not sure how this can be accomplished...
In the Working Time iview, the timesheet appears. The column for the Att/Abs type has a dropdown button, and when you select it, it shows the text of the att/abs, and at the end has the code in parentheses.
    Ex: Regular Time (P0001)
The list appears to sorted by the att/abs description, but we want it to be sorted by the att/abs code instead...
    Can this be done.
    Thanks.

  • Query result list sort order in the Service Manager Portal (2012).

    Hi there,
I have a setup a user prompt for a request offering in which the values are based on a query results list.  When the user prompt is displayed in the portal the order of the items presented based on my query results list is in reverse
alphabetical order (Z to A) instead of traditional A to Z.  I can clicked the column header to toggle the sort order, however having to do this is slightly annoying.
My query results list is based on returning the Department field of a specific criteria of template AD user accounts (which are imported into the CMDB via the AD Connector).
Where and how is the sort order defined?
    Thanks
    Bryan

    Hi Bryan,
After a quick test I can see the query results is in a descending order based on the first display column of the query results configuration. In the Request offering wizard I don't see an option for sorting. I don't think it is possible to configure this
    out of the box.
But maybe it is possible from a Self Service Portal rendering point of view. Maybe there is a key for it in the settings.xml just like the maximum of query results:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/servicemanager/archive/2011/11/08/advanced-query-results-customization-for-request-offerings.aspx
If this is possible I'm also curious to know how! :)

  • Hyperion Planning- Account dimension - Sort Order Issue with ODI 11.1.1.5

    Hello Experts,
First of all, I thank you everybody in this forum for posting their valuable suggestions.
I am facing a strange issue with ODI (Version 11.1.1.5) while loading metadata to Planning ACCOUNT dimension (Version 11.1.2.x). I am using a Oracle view to load metadata to this dimension. I have defined the sort order in the view and enabled SORT_ORDER_BY_INPUT. For the fresh load to the dimension, everything is working fine. But, when I move a member from one parent to another parent, and define it as the top member of new parent, it is missing its sort order.
But it is working fine if you define it as the second, third...or last member under new parent. I have tried all the possible ways by flipping all the properties but unable to fix it.
Please help me here to resolve this issue.
    Your help is greatly appreciated!!
    Thanks

To be honest I think you are best logging it with Oracle because it sounds like you are doing everything correctly so it could be a bug.
Have you tested this on any previous versions of ODI or is it a new installation?
If it does get logged with Oracle please keep me informed of the outcome as I would be interested to hear.
    Cheers

  • F-26 sort order of Process open items

F-26 sort order of Process open items. Before the upgrade on 4.6c when we did F-26 and entered the billing document the open items were then grouped together at the top. Now in ECC the sort does not occur. Any ideas on how to fix this.

Try using F-05 to post the adjustment accounts.

  • Oracle 10G gives in sorted order without order by ,in 11g it is not.

we are facing a strange problem.
we have M Views on which we perform select operation ,we put joins of M Views and get the results by select operation , the results was in sorted order (asc) and we were not using any order by clause in the select query , this was in oracle 10G.
The compelte schema where these M views are and also the underneath tables are now migrated to oracle 11g using import/export option.
Now the queries which was giving the result set in sorted order (asc), are not given the result set in sorted order anymore. it is in different order but I think at always return the same order not asc or desc but an specific random order .
we can not change the query as of now as there are 1000+ and each query would require a order by statement .
Do we have any parameters which can be change , so that we can force oracle to use a different plan so that it gives result in order ?
the select queries are very simple ones not complicated no extra function or group by is used in most of the queries.
Please suggest possible solutions . Thanks much.

MOS Doc 345048.1 ('Group By' Does Not Guarantee a Sort Without Order By Clause In 10g and Above)
Go to http://support.oracle.com, log in to My Oracle Support, and search for 345048.1 If you don't have a My Oracle Support account, you'll need to contact whoever manages your company's Oracle support and ask them to create an account for you.
Basically, no version of Oracle has ever guaranteed the order of results if you don't specify an ORDER BY clause. In 10g, the only algorithm that was available to implement a GROUP BY happened to sort the results as a side effect. 11g introduced a new algorithm for grouping results that is more efficient and does not have the side effect of ordering the results. Most likely, your query plans have changed to use the more efficient grouping algorithm.
If you want the results to be sorted, you should add an appropriate ORDER BY clause. If you go through the MOS document, there will also be suggestions for ways that you can disable the new grouping algorithm though I would not recommend that.

  • ITunes U Sort Order Issue

I purchase a lot of audio courses from a company called the Teaching Company. I buy and download them as MP3's and they've worked great on all my iPods (I have a nano, a classic, and a touch 64GB). I previously kept all of the course lectures in my Audiobook section to keep them separate from my music and podcasts and other media. This was fine until I decided to purchase an Audible account and began to build up a large library of audiobooks as well. When I got my brand new 64GB iPod Touch and the new iTunes, I saw that iTunes U was now a separate entity within my library. So, for organizational purposes and to allow me to better fine-tuning of my sync preferences (I much more media than could ever fit on any of my iPods at one time), I moved all my educational and lecture media out of my Audiobooks area and into iTunes U by editing the tags through "get info".
This has worked just fine except for one mysterious problem.
When I view any of these audio courses (each course is an album) in iTunes, they display fine in normal sort order by track number. But when I go to listen to them on my iPod, the sort order is all jumbled up and all the tracks are out of order. So I cannot listen to the classes from one lecture to another, at the end of each lecture I must exit back to the album and FIND the next lecture. They appear to be sorted in no obvious order (not alphabetical, not by name, not by track number). Again, they are set to sort by track number in iTunes and they display (and play) perfectly straight through in iTunes. But on my iPod, the sort order is completely messed up.
So, what's going on? Why? And how can I fix it??

    Vague789 wrote:
Set your track numbers correctly (by right clicking, clinking 'Get Info' and clicking on the info tab), and make sure you also set the totals (e.g. 12 of 18 - the "of 18" is what I mean by the totals). This sorted it out on my iPod.
This worked for me for my Teaching Company files. They were all jumbled previously because they took the track numbers from the default import from the internet. Once I changed it, no problem.
It would be better if Apple allowed just a dragging, or if there was a quick tool, but at least this works.
I had previously been using "Join Together" for stuff like this. I think I like this method better, though. I can still keep the individual lecture files on a playlist, but not have to worry about all the separate titles in a general listing.

  • Sort order in Leave Request Approver screen

    Hi,
Where can I set the the sort order for the portal screen which lists the managers tasks to approve when they select 'Launch WebDynpro' from the UWL.

In LeaveRequestApprover application, a higher level manager can
approve/reject a leave though he/she is not the owner of the approval

  • Add_item : Attributes list collection sort order

    Hello:
I created multiple custom attributes and added them to my custom item type. I need to apply these attributes while adding an item programmatically.
    1) How do i define the order of the Attributes list via the Portal builder so as to match the corresponding values read from a list/table,etc. ?
    2) The ordering arrow buttons in the attribute list of my custom item type does not match the result set from my query. I tried all options of "order by" clause. Here is the query - (componenttype is the name of my custom item type)
    select iatts.ID
    ,atts.caid
         ,atts.DATA_TYPE
         ,atts.CAID
         ,atts.NAME,atts.DISPLAY_NAME
         ,iatts.ITEM_TYPE_ID
    from wwsbr_item_types itypes
    ,wwsbr_item_type_attributes iatts
    ,wwsbr_attributes atts
    where --itypes.caid = 133
    itypes.name like 'ComponentType'
    and itypes.ID = iatts.ITEM_TYPE_ID
    and iatts.ATTRIBUTE_ID = atts.ID
    --and atts.CAID = 133
    order by atts.id
    3) I need to expect a certain order of the attribute ids, when bulk collecting into the attributes array, in order to populate the values collection in the same. So, how do I determine the order of the attributes ids ?
    4) Is there a better way to do this ?
    Thank You.
    regards

Document Sets are great tools for grouping multiple documents together. However, if every set has exactly one document, it would be better to just upload the file and not place it within a Document Set:
Uploading documents using object model - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/ms454491(v=office.14).aspx
Uploading documents using web services -
    http://cecildt.blogspot.com/2010/10/upload-documents-to-sharepoint-2010.html
If you have requirements to use Document Sets, keep in mind that this adds a layer of complexity beyond a simple Document Library. Behind the scenes, each Document Set is treated as a separate folder, and although can you query items within it, there might
be extra steps for getting the sort order to ignore the folder structure. Can you try setting the Scope to be "Recursive" and also specify that you are looking only for files and not folders:
    <Eq><FieldRef Name='FSObjType'/><Value Type='Lookup'>1</Value></Eq></Where>

  • Sort order for "News"

I have the "News" Layout Set running.
The sort order in the portal display is oldest top, newest at the bottom.
Is there a way to change the order the other way around, without "Manual" intervention, i.e. not moving the news around by hand?

    Hi Holger
To Roberts answer I can add that you should choose "Descending" in "Sorting Mode" (click "show advanced options" in the collection renderer to see this option).
At the same time you should consider if "modified" as sorting-property meets your requirements. Often when working with news items, it makes more sense if you use "created". The problem with "modified" is that an edited news item will turn up as the latest news - even if you only corrected a spelling error or the like.
    Kind regards,
    Martin

  • Reminders-sort order of tasks does not sync

I'm trying to use Reminders on my iPhone 4s, iMac running Mountain Lion and iCloud. Although syncing does occur BETWEEN THESE 3 APPS,
THE SORT ORDER OF THE TASKS IS COMPLETELY OUT OF SYNC. I need to sort my many to do tasks manually as priorities change
daily. Therefore it's important to have the sort order (sequence of task items) sync across these devices. I imagine many users would agree with this.

Just discovering for myself that re-ordering reminders can be achieved - but order is not synced between devices or shared accounts. Which is to say it's about as much use as a chocolate teapot.
For the record, I have thrown the equivalent of a message in a bottle to feedback - an action for which I believe the acronym is CWOT.

  • Mail sort order (time) will not remember my preferences

Hi, I have to reinstall my system from a crash, I copied most files from my backup. After that, I noticed that my mail in the new reinstalled system behaved funny.
It works properly when you quit Mail and restart the application, however, if left alone for a while, say after sleep or working for more than an hour or so, my sort order will be cancelled.
My sort order is by time, where the latest mails are at the bottom, but when I select a different mailbox and return to the previous mailbox, the sort order will always revert to the latest mail on top. There's nothing I can do to make the application stay with latest dates on the bottom. Please help.

Thanks for your help. What I did is to use time machine and got an old backup of this mail preference file. But that does not seem to work. I did it this way, so I don't have to reestablish my 6 e-mail accounts.
Does that mean the problem is not in the preference file?
yes, unless you restored from some time point when the problem already existed it does mean that it's not the preference file. did you quit Mail before restring the file?

  • Request/Service Offering Sort Order Problems

I am having a difficult time finding a way to sort the results of a MP Enumeration List prompt type.  The sort order on the portal user prompt is random even though I have arranged them in teh Service Manager console list to be alphabetical.  This
does not apply to the prompt the end user sees in the portal.   It is not alphabetical.  Anyone have any ideas?
The MP Enumeration prompt is mapped to the Service Request Source list.   Version is 2012 R2 with update rollup 2 installed on all SCSM servers.

I'm experiencing the same issue, have you found a solution to this?

  • GAL Sort Order is ignoring the hyphen?

     Greetings,
In our GAL, we're making liberal use of the dash/hyphen character to help with spacing.  However, we're seeing interesting behavior, where the character is effectively ignored.
For Example, because we're multi-site, we start distribution lists with a site label, and then name groups.  Like, My Company site A would be: MCA-Groupname.  Unfortunately, we're finding that the hyphen is ignored and messing with our
    desired sort order.
    Example:
    MC-Accounts Payable (All company AP)
    MCA-Finance (Site Finance Group)
    MCB-Finance (Site Finance Group)
    MC-Finance  (All company Finance Group)
Ideally, it'd be nice if the MC- groups were all together.  There's some older KB's that say that hyphens are "last" when collating when everything is equal, but these names aren't equal (https://support.microsoft.com/kb/305704?wa=wsignin1.0).
Is there anything we can do from exchange our Outlook to obtain our desired results?
Our environment is Exchange 2010 and Outlook 2010 and 2013.
    Thanks for looking!

    Hi BlueKnigh7,
I find it should be a by design behavior after some tests:
    1. I create the same 4 groups as yours in my lab, the order is as below, just the same as you find:
    MC-Accounts Payable (All company AP)
    MCA-Finance (Site Finance Group)
    MCB-Finance (Site Finance Group)
    MC-Finance  (All company Finance Group)
    2. Then when I check in Address Boob, still the same order:
So just as you find and described in the KB article, it’s should be a by design behavior.
