GLIBC_2.0 not defined in file libc.so.6
I am attempting to install the patch 11I.ATG.PF.H Detla 7, got errors at the end with 7 reports not compiling successfully. I went to recompile one report and got the following error message
Error Message:
/finora/product/10222/8.0.6/bin/rwcon60: relocation error: /finora/product/10222/8.0.6/network/jre11/lib/i686/native_threads/libjava.so: symbol __libc_wait, version GLIBC_2.0 not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference
Some articles state that LD_ASSUME_KERNEL needs to be set which is untrue for Redhat Linux 5.5. In fact things break if this is set in RHEL5.5.
Not sure why this is not working.....any one else have issues with this?

"GLIBC_2.3.3 not defined" problem when10g express installation in Red Hat9
I downloaded "oracle-xe-univ-10.2.0.1-1.0.i386.rpm" from Oracle website, and then
updated the Red Hat 9 with " libaio-0.3.96-3.src.rpm" patch. Now, the RH9 linux looks as below:
==========================
$ rpm -q glibc
glibc-2.3.2-11.9
$ rpm -q libaio
libaio-0.3.96-3
==========================
After that, I installed Oracle 10.2.0 express on the RH9 linux with below commands:
===========================================
$ rpm -ivh downloads/oracle-xe-univ-10.2.0.1-1.0.i386.rpm
$ /etc/init.d/oracle-xe configure
============================================
When I tried to start SQLPLUS, but I encounter the error described as the title:
==========================================================
relocation error: /usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/server/bin/../lib/libclntsh.so.10.1: symbol semtimedop, version GLIBC_2.3.3 not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference
==========================================================
I just checked the forum, and found many people have asked the same problem. Have we got one solution to the problem?
At the same time, I found Red Hat 9 does NOT occur in the document "Oracle Express Installation Guide 10g Release 2 (10.2) for Linux" (http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/xe/files/install.102/b25144/toc.htm)
My question is whether Oracle Express 10.2 can NOT be installed on RH9 or not? Does any expert give us one clear answer? If not, we shall not try it on RH9, and we can install it on Fedora Core4 or SESE SLES-9

However, if you try to mount a modern engine in an ancient Model-T ford car, you must be prepared to make some adjustments.
Same here ... RH9 was released several years before Oracle Database 10.2 and many, many things have been changed in Linux. Oracle assumes that the Linux you are using has a specific set of libraries (glibc being the most important) available at a specific version - they were not available with the same API in RH9 days so you would need to make those libraries available yourself without interfering with other operations of RH9.
The same holds true for other combinations of Linux distro and Oracle database distro. However, some very sharp people have installed using some of those combinations and have published those installation cookbooks - Werner Puschitz at http://www.puschitz.com and Ivan Kartik at http://ivan.kartik.sk/ are the most notable.
I'd highly recommend you consider getting a newer version, and possibly staying very close to a version that Oracle used, to keep the opportunities for troubleshooting to a minimum. -

It's really a Microsoft error, not a Acrobat error, but I know that doesn't make the inability to sign any less frustrating. This probably has something to do with the communication bridge between Acrobat, Windows, and the CAC software. I know you're not responsible for software upgrades, but is there any chance you can download the free Adobe Reader (Adobe Reader Install for all versions). Even though Reader doesn't have the same editing capability as Acrobat Pro, it will allow you to sign a PDF file, and what I'm looking to see is if this is somehow related to the age of version 8.1, which is well past its end-of life. Even version 9 in longer supported.
Thanks,

I've already checked the notes at

I've checked the page source and the missing function is defined in

The strange thing is that this happens only from certain PCs but all the

Any idea of what might be going on?

Did you follow all the post installation steps? (Updating the Javascript/CSS files etc?). If so, try clearing out your browser cache to make sure your browser is getting the latest files.
Hope this helps,

GLIBCXX_3.4 not defined [solved]
I'm trying to compile a C++ program (for school), but I'm getting an error.
Error:
./mymain: relocation error: ./mymain: symbol _ZNKSt9basic_iosIcSt11char_traitsIcEEcvPvEv, version GLIBCXX_3.4 not defined in file libstdc++.so.6 with link time reference
It was working a couple days ago.
I tried recompiling libstdc++5, but it didn't help.
I don't know much about this library, so some help would be nice.

Last edited by jnengland77 (2008-10-28 23:20:31)Well I'm just compiling use g++ -o mymain mymain.cpp or make (e.g. make mymain ).
As far as changes I hadn't updated in a while so I updated I think last Friday. I think there was like 400 MB in downloads. I can't remember what was updated. It must have been from that night though. Since it worked that night, but I haven't compiled anything till now (been rebooted a couple times since then).
I haven't rebooted my desktop for a while, and recently updated it, too. But it's more frequently updated. Till I get the laptop to compile stuff I'll be leaving the desktop running.
~jnengland77
UPDATE: I think I fixed the problem by reinstalling gcc and gcc-lib. And maybe using more parameters for g++ such as -g -Wall and-Os . There after it fixes make, too. I don't quite understand why that fixed it, unless it was the reinstall of gcc and gcc-libs that did it.

[solved] libc.so.6 version GLIBC_2.16 not found
i have tried to upgrade arch today, and i am getting too deep,
im stilll getting error message
pacman: /lib/libc.so.6 version GLIBC_2.16 not found (required by /usr/lib/libcurl.so.4)
i followed the instructions here https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/De … iki:usrlib and am not getting anywhere. i am following the instructions here https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1144268 and im also not getting anywhere with this.
i did untar the package curl-7.26.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz from cache and tried to overwrite teh curl libs in /usr/lib and im still getting this error. previously i ignored the unresolvable dependencies which i now feel is a mistake, the list is quite long, heres an example
warning: ignoring package glibc-2.16.0-2
warning: cannot resolve "glibc>=2.16", a dependency of "gcc-libs"
:: The following packages cannot be upgraded due to unresolvable dependencies:
binutils gcc gcc-libs
Do you want to skip the above packages for this upgrade [y/N]
and the actual ones i ignored that i still have to upgrade because they have been ignored are as follows
pacman -Sd binutils dbus dbus-core gcc gcc-libs ghostscript glib2 glibmm gnutls grep gtk2 icu initscripts libcups libgl linux mesa mkinitcpio pcre php php-apache php-gd php-mcrypt php-pear phpmyadmin samba systemd-tools
im going to stop here until i get some assistance if possible before i break anything. i do have my original curl libs backed up to /tmp/pacman_build/usr directory
where to go from here?

I have found this thread on the problem but so far I have had no luck resolving the issues

Walk us through. When and how did you install Arch and when was the last time you did upgrade? I've got hard time to understand you haven't done upgrade since july.
PS What was your previous distro? (I don't want to brag, just tell you some differences between Arch and other "easy" distros)
Ok as I said i unfortunately inherited the computer, so I was not the one to go through the install of Arch.
I have been using the computer without upgrading, but I would really like to get the computer working properly.
The last upgrade was probably performed around a year ago. Please let me know any other specific information that would be useful. -

Error when closing: In file 'TeamAdminTempDelete': delTempFile is not defined
Hello all,
I have CS4 on my pc at work and at the moment I have to set up some html sites for this schuhe website
When closing Dreamweaver I always get the following error message:
JavaScript Error: In file 'TeamAdminTempDelete': delTempFile is not defined
I´m getting this error for a few days. Many weeks before I it worked without this error.
What can be the problem?
Thanks.
Solatt
I forgot to say some details to my CS4 version: Here I have Dreamweaver 10.0 build 4117Found the fix from another User... You need to delete the temp file that Dreamweaver creates.
I have Windows 7 and this is my path to the file. You can do a search and find it as well.

Libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.16' not found
Hey everyone,
I haven't used my Arch system for some months now, thus I had to go through the updating marathon with all these issues.
I've read threads on the forums, guides and asked google for help. I think that I'm close to the finish line. But now I get this error message when using pacman:
pacman: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.16' not found (required by /lib/libarchive.so.12)
I probably messed something up.
In this thread someone had a similar problem and was able to solve it, but he had to struggle with "libcurl.so.4" instead of "libarchive.so.12". So his "workaround" for the curl package is to no avail for me. How can I find out what package is affected by "libarchive.so.12"? And can I use a similar workaround?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
best regards
WebmaniacI've installed Arch on a Raid0. When I try to enable the raid ("dmraid -ay") with the live cd, I get:
[...]stripe:Couldn't parse stripe destination
RAID set "isw_..._Volume0" was not detected
ERROR: device "isw_..._Volume0" could not be found'
Can't fix it.
Is there any way that I can use pacstrap from an existing Ubuntu install? I could enable my raid with Ubuntu and then use pacstrap to fix my arch install, couldn't I? -
Version `GLIBC_2.12' not found
Hi,
I recently installed arch for the 1st time with Apache, PHP and MySQL.
When I try to install postfix, already in the 1st phase, I get an error. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Below is what I get. Apparently GLIBC_2.12 is not installed. How do I resolve this issue?
Thank you,
TC

Hi all!
After some time I decide to upgrade and starting with read the manual at the site.
Firstly, I run
pacman -Syu --ignore glibc,curl
this exit successfully
Secondly,
pacman -Su
but this give me error
pacman: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.16' not found (required by /usr/lib/libarchive.so.12)
pacman always return this error, so I don't install glibc manually
help me, pls
i tried to untar glibc-2.16.0-4
tar -xvf glibc-2.16.0-4-i686.pkg.tar.xz -C /
it exit with
tar: lib: Cannot create symlink to `usr/lib': File exists
tar: lib64: Cannot create symlink to `usr/lib': File exists
tar: Exiting with failure status due to previous errors
ok, glibc untared(symlinks created with my hands in ramfs mode), but nothing happens (only kdm not start, but startx works) and error while i'm trying to use pacman is same
pacman: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.16' not found (required by /usr/lib/libarchive.so.12)
