Glitch between Firefox and Avast 9 online security

i like keeping my navigation window closed but whenever i enable Avast's online security add on it opens it by itself every time. below is a youtube link showing what i mean..........

i like Avast's online protection, its really good, but this glitch is annoying. i have tried uninstalling both programs with no luck

Avast Internet Security Add-on for firefox 25 and 26 has caused website failures and constant freezing. When disabled, firefox acts normally. My suggestion is to mail avast about the issue and disable it for now.

Why does the Avast online security tab now suddenly always open when I start Firefox, it never use to happen?

As above sentence. Suddenly, every time I start Firefox it opens with the Firefox tab and the Avast online security tab. This didn't use to happen. I've tried disabling it via Firefox (as it was loaded on the computer long before I had Firefox) which solves that problem but then the large green tick icon doesn't show next to the search list to show the site is safe. It's very annoying that it has started doing this and certainly don't want it!

The main difference is that, in R/3 the first line of defence it S_TCODE, i mean its completely based on Transaction.
Where as B/W is completely object based i.e, it deals with securing Infoobjetcs, Infocubes, ODS, BW Queries, etc....

How can I fix a problem between Firefox and my printer? When I try to print a window appears Save as ,then another saying Firefox not responding and printing does not work

I used to be able to print correctly using Firefox as my browser,but something changed in the last month or so,possibly after a Firefox update. I`m not really sure how it happened but there seems to be a problem between Firefox and my printer. So I have been using Internet Explorer as my default so I can print. I would prefer to use Firefox again since that is where my bookmarks are. Is there a way to get the connection between Firefox and my printer back?

What is the difference between "Replace" and "Replace by Security"

I am implementing FDM to Load data to HFM, I set them up with a proper security on the shared service and FDM. When I load data to HFM from FDM, there are 4 options to load data. (Replace, Merge, Accumulate, Replace by Security)
A document states that
Replace: Clears all account values from the target application, and replaces that the data in the application with the data in the load file.
Replace by Security: Loads data to the target application only for members to which you have access.
However, even if I used “Replace”, it worked with security which I set.
Does anyone know what the difference between “Replace” and “Replace by Security”?
Is there any way that FDM works without security?

The fact both methods are producing the same results will either be coincidence or perhaps because you are mis-interpreting the difference between the 2. When you run a Replace HFM will clear out all data based on the combination of Scenario, Year, Period, Entity and Value dimensions it does not care if you have set up security classes which may restrict access to any of the other dimensions i.e. Account, Custom1 thru 4. When you use Replace By Security HFM will still clear on the original criteria but it will respect security class restrictions set up on the other dimensions e.g. if you are assigned to a security class which is restricted to accessing only a certain subset of accounts, HFM will not clear data fro the accounts you don't have access to when you use Replace By Security

I'm an older woman and it's hard for me to keep up with all the new technology these days. Can someone please explain the difference between Firefox and Internet Explorer? Which one is better to use? Many thanks for your help.

Firefox, Chrome and Internet explorer are all types of Browser; for use (mainly) on the internet, other modern browsers are Safari & Opera.
Just to confuse things slightly, Windows Explorer, is the name of the software that is usually used to look at content (files & folders) on Windows PCs.

Difference between Firefox and Safari when viewing iWeb created content.

Greeting Mac fans,
I've noticed that my iWeb pages load 2-3 times faster when viewed in Firefox than Safari. I find this a little suprising.
Also, my hit counter shows when the page is displayed in Firefox, but not in Safari.
Any ideas?
All content was created using iWeb and is hosted at my dotmac account. I have a domain name and I'm also using "masked URL fowarding"

There are two things that I think are at play
here...
First, the difference in loading times between
FireFox and Safari.... I haven't noticed that huge of
a difference myself, but what I have noticed is that
FireFox is much faster at pulling up cached
material....or maybe figuring out whether to pull
from cache vs. anew. I've noticed that FireFox also
hangs on to cached material more tenaciously than
Safari, meaning that sometimes I have to go in and
empty FireFox's cache in order to see something
update...I have to do this much more often in FireFox
than Safari.
Second, about your counters. If you turn your
masking off from your domain forwarding, you .Mac
counters will be visible to all. Using masking will
make them invisible to certain browsers under certain
conditions.
James, I guess I should download and use Firefox, but remember feeling burned the last time I did. I downloaded it, and soon after, things went awry with my computer. I am hoping that the were unrelated events, since Leo Laporte, the KFI techie guru, also recommends using Firefox for various reasons. He says that it is very safe because, basically, it is "dumb" (his words). But he meant that it's lack of bells and whistles made it go very fast, and made it avoid all the problems of Internet Explorer.

Firefox is basically a browser.And Firefox OS is an Operating System.You can install Firefox in your SGS3 just like an android application.But if you want Firefox operating system on it. then you have to flash the ported Firefox OS on your device. Then it will be a completely different standalone operating system.you cannot install android applications on it.

Is there a conflict between Firefox and Carbomite?

I have been having problems with unresponsive script errors in Firefox, in both normal and Safe modes. I got the idea that one of my background programs could be causing the problem, so I disabled all of them and then enabled them individually. Enabling Zone Alarm did not cause a problem, so I enabled Carbonite. Sure enough, the unresponsive scripts returned, in both normal and Safe modes. Is there a known issue between Firefox and Carbonite that causes unresponsive scripts and, if so, what can I do about it short of disabling Carbonite? Thanks for any help!

Opened my Computer yesterday with Firefox and Avast quickly let me know there was a Malicious URL that they blocked. Are you aware of this. Brooklyndave@gmail

Different texte layout between firefox and chrome ?!

NPAPI difference between Firefox and chrome

I'm writing some plugin; I got Gesko SDK from mozilla site; After build it successfully loaded and working on Firefox;
I tried to load and execute it with chrome; I found that chrome cannot load plugin; After some debugging I found that plroblem in function table structures - size of structures is not the same in firefox and chrome;
Additional search bring me to a difference - it is in alignment; Firefox and Gesko using 32 bit alignment/packaging, and chrome use 8 bit alignment/packaging;
So, my questions are:
-is it bug of chrome or firefox?
-when will it be fixed?
-I did not work with chrome previously; from when is this build difference?

This forum is geared toward Firefox end user support, not toward developers, so you may not get an answer from anyone who knows exactly what you are talking about. Not to sound rude, but if your plugin is working in Firefox, but not in Chrome wouldn't it make sense to ask a Google support forum about your Firefox plugin not working in Chrome?
As far as 8-bit vs. 32-bit, AFAIK 8-bit operating systems and programs date back like 20 years, so I doubt if Google is using 8-bit in its' plugins. But that would best be addressed by someone familiar with Chrome development and plugins.

Observed different behavior between Firefox and Nightly ( on Facebook)

I like to troll on Facebook like all with too much time on their hands. I've discovered something funny happening.
I have 2 laptops. One an XP dinosaur running Firefox (x86 newest 33.0?), the other running Nightly. I'm using Nightly now.
When I'm on Facebook on ol' trusty, I like to copy/paste emoticons (smileys) from other sites. This has always worked smoothly.
On my x64 Nightly, Facebook appears to run smoothly but the the "symbols" website won't allow me to copy. Just a small black square appears when I try to select an icon.
Here's the rub. Does the "broken" website behave so because I'm running Nightly - W8.1 and WTP, both x64. or is nightly unable to interpret the site correctly??

Those black boxes are showing if the Flash plugin is blocked (not activated), so check that via the Lego block icon on the location/address bar.
You can inspect and manage permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab via these steps:
*Click the "[[Site Identity Button|Site Identity Button]]" (globe/padlock) on the location/address bar
*Click "More Information" to open "Tools > Page Info" with the Security tab selected
*Go to the Permissions tab (Tools > Page Info > Permissions) to check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab

Gap issue between Firefox and IE

Hi
I am a newbie to the Dreamweaver stage.
Busy putting together my first website, but have an issue with spacing.
There is a gap between my logo and menu bar in Firefox, but displays normally in IE6.
Is there any way that I can resove this?
I messed around a bit with my CSS file, but to no avail.
I googled a bit on the net, and see quite a lot of people got issues with this...
Any help with this problem will be appreciated

See if that helps. It introduces you to the idea of setting zero default padding and margin using a global CSS rule. It's something that a lot of people use but it seems is now going out of fashion a little.
That might be a part of your difficulty. As I understand it different browsers introduce their own default styles and these are not consistent accross all elements or browser flavours. The disadvantage of setting all padding and margin to zero is that you have to put it back in where you need it. There's quite a lot of discussion to be read on the internets but for a simple page it works.
Of course, posting a link to your page would be a better way of enabling others to pin-point your problem.

Glitch with Firefox and Adobe Reader.

I wasn't sure whether to post this in the Adobe Reader forum or the Mozilla Firefox forum, but decided to post here.
I am running the latest versions of Adobe Reader X and Firefox on Windows Vista.
Open Firefox. Open a new tab. Then open an Adobe Acrobat document within the new tab. Now it won't let you highlight text in the urlbar with the mouse for copy/paste. You have to click the "Go back" arrow, or go into another site, and then return to the adobe document in order to copy/paste. I tried the same thing with Internet Explorer and Chrome, and the glitch didn't seem to happen in those. It seems to be only an issue with Firefox.

I am using the latest version, 3.6.15.
Admittedly it's a minor glitch. I discovered it when I was trying to copy the url for some show's TV listings that were in pdf format in order to help someone on another forum, and I couldn't get it to highlight the text.
