Glitch in Graphic Inspector for Photo Template?

When I create a slideshow using iWeb, using the "Photo" template the "reflection" option is grayed out in the graphic inspector, and the default is set to having a reflection. I really, really don't want a reflection - yet I cannot opt to change it. Why is this?
The other templates to not seem to have this problem.
Thanks!
Jane

Hi Jane
Yes we are trying to open the file, I dont know of any reason why you can't..... unless for some reason Keychain is not allowing access to the disk, but the fact that you can see it would suggest that it is.
Another option, drag Taco to your dock, if its not there already (so that you can launch it from here).
Next, find your slideshow.html file and drag it onto the Taco icon and Taco should launch and open the file.

  • Best Graphics Card for Photo Editing

    Hello All,
I am a professional photographer. I currently use Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 4.1. I am in the process of having a new computer built just for editing my photography. The board will be an ASUS P9X79 with an intel Core i7-3820 and 16 GB memory. The technician building the computer would like a recommendation of the fastest and or best graphics card for editing still images.
All of my work is done in RAW from a 5D MII. 21 megapixel.
Processing speed has always been a bottleneck for me and Lightroom 4 has not helped.
Can anyone please recommend the best or fastest graphics card for this system?
    Thank you, Jim

I would focus on your PS CS5 requirments. If you intend on using a wide gamut display at some point I'd give serious consideration to graphics card that will truly support 30 bit display data (10bit/color) in PS CS5/6.There are only a handful of graphics cards that actually support a 30 bit data path with PS CS5/6. • Glitch with playlist used for photos slideshow

Here is another interesting one - don't know whether people have noticed...
I have a mixture of smart and normal playlists. They appear on the nano in alphabetical order, unlike iTunes where he smart ones are always above the normal ones. I say this as context, because I suspect, but am not sure, that it is related to this...
When I select a playlist to use in a photo slideshow, I get the wrong one. If my playlists were numbered 1 to 7, and I select 4, I get 2. If I ask for 5, I get 3. I have exactly the right number of smart playlists above the one I want to cause this offset.
Going to test it properly later - in the meantime, anyone else notice it?

I get the same problem. There doesn't seem to be a pattern so far, so I just clicked and played until I found music I like... and left it there!
I guess there are worse problems in the world, but it would be nice to sync correctly.

  • Looking for HP Photo template print v 1.12

I know HP updated this program, but I want the templates back that were in the 1.12 version! Will somebody share, please?!

I am also looking for a previous version of HP software. it was a free download. I last downloaded it in 2009 but due to malfunctioning computers, I lost the program. it is called HP photo template print. it allows the user to print images either as a full page print or use a variety of templates to insert images. the images do not have to be previously loaded to the computer but the program will accept the images from any device. If there is anyone, anyone at all who can help it will be greatly appreciated. The file name I have for it is HP Photo Template Print. ver 120.000.011 or something very similiar. I have contacted HP and no one seems to know what program I am referring too.
    PLEASE!!! help
    Thanks in Advance

  • In pages, the graphic inspector doesn't allow for reflection.

When I open a new page in pages the graphic inspector highlights shadow as selectable but no reflection.  I don't know what might be interfering with this.
I would like to be able to design words with reflections and shadows.

Seems to be a Preview oddity. It search entire words. If you search for reflections, it find it !
Thank to your post, I begin to understand why so many users miss infos which I find easily.
I don't use it but Adobe Reader which bring to page 154 as 2nd occurrence.
It's more powerful than Preview when used to search something.

Further, the line on which the term exists, as shown in your post, does not allow the selection of an individual word or character.
The pointed page give a list of objects upon which we may apply the effects. Text box is one of these objects, words or single characters aren't. Isn't it a logical behavior ?
If you drag and drop the screenshot on your Desktop, you will see that there is a reflection effect below the word term.
It is enclosed in a text box so the effect apply to the box.
In an user guide, every word is important as well as a bridge pier. Remove one of them and the construction collapse.

  • How can I change the margin settings in the pages inspector to make them more specific for label templates. I need margins that can be set to hundreths of a centimetre not just tenths.

How can I change the margin settings in the pages inspector to make them more specific for label templates. I need margins that can be set to hundreths of a centimetre not just tenths.

I doubt you need hundreths as you would not even be able to measure that and the printer doesn't hold the paper to those tolerances.
fruhulda is right. Pages accepts higher measure but rounds it in the measure field.
If you want absolute accuarcy you need to set your measures to points. Everything else is being recalculated.

  • Problem adding photos to a photo template page

I am using iWeb 3.0.4. After selecting a Photo template page I tried to drag an iPhoto event from Media sidebar that has 32 photos in it to the photo place holder on the page. Only 9 of the photos were transferred. Trying to drag any other photos, even a single photo, caused a text box with the name of the photo in it to be placed on the page and the Inspector window to open with the Link tab active.
Does anyone have any ideas on why or what to do?

Your library is damaged and my not be able to be totally recovered, i.e. recover albums, slideshows, etc. along with the photos.
If the original files for your photos are inside the library package (even if iPhoto can't display them) the following should create a new library with all of your photos.
Start over from scratch with new library
Start over with a new library and import the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from your original library as follows:
    1.  Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
    2. Open the library package like this.
    3. Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
    4. Drag the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.
This will create a new library with the same Events as the original library but will not keep the metadata, albums, books slideshows and other projects.  Check it out carefully to see if all of your photos are represented in it.
Your current library will still be available for further fix attempts.

  • Can 'SUBSCRIBE' be removed from photo template pages in iWeb??

I am using photo template pages on my website (designed in iWeb 08). My site is an artist portfolio site so the photo template pages work well for dealing with all the art images I am posting.
One problem: there is a subscribe button on my pages which lets people subscribe to my iPhoto library. I cannot figure out how to remove it.
    Any ideas on this?
    Thanks!
    Christine

    Christine
Click on the Inspector at the bottom of your photo page, then click on the Photos Inspector (just to the left of RSS).
Next click on the Photos button, then uncheck "Allow visitors to subscribe".
The Subscribe button will disappear from your page.

  • Photo Template Question

Hi! I used the photo template to create my iweb web site. In doing so, I placed my own pictures on top of the template photos in some cases. Then I hyperlinked my pictures to files. Click the picture and a file downloads. This is good, but when I access my web site and while my pictures are downloading, the template photos are displayed until my pictures cover them when downloads are done. Question - How can I remove the template photos? Please advise, and thanks.
    gingermae

Is downloading a file hyperlinked to a photo your intended purpose? If so, then you might be better off not using the photo template. But I understand if you like the look of the photo template. If you want to continue using the template, then instead of using your photo to "cover" the template photo, go ahead and drag your photo over the template photo and hover until you see your cursor turn to a "+" sign. Then let go and your photo will replace the template photo. Since you cannot apply a hyperlink to a file download to the template, you will then need to insert a rectangle shape...make it the same size as the photo...and then lay it on top of the photo. Open up the Inspector and use the Hyperlink tab to attach the hyperlink to file to this shape. Then click over to the graphics tab and adjust the opacity of the rectangle shape to 1% to let your template photo show through. This should replicate the function that you currently have but replace the template photos with your own.

  • How delete photos from photo template?

I selected the Photos template to add photos to my web site. I can't get rid of the photos or the photo space markers from the template. It comes up with a grid of three boxes with photos in them. iweb directions indicate that all I need do is drag a new photo into a photo space and the old from the template will be removed. Doesn't happen. Also on my first photo page, I only want 1 photo and can't get rid of the 3 space photo marker. ideas? suggesstions? I also don't want to be locked into a 3 photo across grid on future photo pages.

You have to drag it into the photo grid, wait for it
to turn blue, and it WILL make the original ones
    disappear.
You can change to two across instead of three in
Inspector. Again, you must be clicked on the photo
    grid to make this change.
Thanks varkgirl, that helped. I've done that. But now can't change the size or the position of the photo. I just want one photo to fill the width of the page & be centered. I've tried clicking on the frame (?) around the blue photo frame and dragging/grabbing the edges but will only let me go so far. My photo is still postge stamp size and left justified on the page. Any other ideas?

  • Max "viewing" size for photos?

I did some searches here but didn't seem to find what I needed.
Question: When a viewer clicks on a thumbnail to see the larger pic, can I change the "viewing size" (not the download size) to a larger dimension?....say..850 wide for landscape.
Thanks in advance for any help

If you want to show off your images in a bigger size you could forget about the Photo template and load your thumbs onto a blank page. Make each one a link to a new page where you can put the enlargement as big as you want. You could probably increase the page width to at least 1200 px without it running off the average screen.
To stop your navigation menu getting out of hand you would exclude all these "enlargement" pages from the navigation in the "page" inspector and provide a "back" button to return to the thumbs.

  • Graphics Card for Lightroom and also CS2 and Maybe CS3

Hi. I am still using a PC I build about 3 years ago with a ASUS P4PE mother board. It has been very good but I am wondering if it is best to now change to a later PC or, upgrade.
I have used 1GB Ram and just got another IGB to install, but my real concern is with the Graphics Card. At present I have a Matrox Millenium G550 which as I recall has just 32MB Ram. At the time this was considered one of the best, if not the best card for 2D Images. However, I now see 256 and 512 Ram cards as norm, but they always refer to being cards for games. I never have and never will wish to play any games on a PC. So advice needed please, what is considered the best Graphics Card for Photoshop CS2 and now Lightroom?
Incidently my Processor is just a P4 2.66 this has served me well so far, but!! I maywell get another PC but for now I feel I just want to try the best upgrades I can.
This is my first post here and look forward to your answers and advice.
    All the best, Ron dps.

The high-powered graphic processors being sold today are fantastic for games but offer zero improvement for digital photo editing. What you have is more than enough. Increasing your SDRAM to 2GB will help the most.

  • To buy or not to buy an entry level 13in MBP? Have a 30in display I would like to connect it to for photo editing and a little video. Any advice?

In the last year the logic board in both my 17in MBP (5yrs old) and Mac Pro (4yrs old) have died.  The local techies have advised due to cost and age that replacing them would not be worth it in the long run.
I am thinking to buy the most basic MBP and connecting it to my 30in cinema display would give me the best of both worlds - a desktop option when at home and a laptop for travelling.  Is this a viable option?  I would be using it for photo editing (photoshop) mainly and a little video editing with Final Cut Pro when connected to the cinema display and a little light internet usage, emails and such when on the go.
My other question is, do all MBP come with airport/wireless capabilities as standard?  (I had to purchase airport separately when I bought the other computers.
    Thanks in advance

The 13" MBP is c**p, it's a consumer MacBook quality in a silver case with a "Pro" sticker, comes with poor integrated graphics that overheat when it even looks at a web video, all shiny screens poor for video. Scores a mere 11 on Cinebench.
Like Sig said, 15" 2.0 (scores 18) or better, 2.2 (scores a decent 30) or better preferred, it has the hefty video card you need to power the external monitor.
also you get a anti-glare option, excellent for avoiding glare and reflections in portable uses.
also you may need the quad core i7 for processing video faster, dual cores are toast.
    17" high res has true 1920 x 1080 (1080i) with it's 1920 x 1200 pixel screen, I've got one. Sweet.
Sad to hear you have been having such a bad run with Mac's, it used to be they lasted 5-7 years or longer easy.

  • HELp! Best laptop for photo editing.. or would a PC be better?

I'm looking to buy a new computer. Would love for it to be a laptop but a PC would be ok too.. Any information on which is best for photo editing.. hopefully a large volume of photo editing.. which ones already have photo programs installed on them? help!

Well.... the biggest limiter will be how much you can spend...
But, you need to look for a higher end processor and a fairly decent graphics card.
No new computers come with any decent graphics program.

  • Need advice on computer for photo and video editing

I do mostly routine stuff on my home computer (word processing, e-mails, internet, etc), except for photo and video editing (hobby, not professional)
I'm upgrading my 4 year old set up, as it has 2 GB ram, dual core vs quad core, 256mb video card, etc, etc.  Better to buy a new rig than upgrade several different components.
Costco has a pretty nice set up in the store (HPE 257 c-b), but for an extra $200, I can order online and get the HPE 170t, which is essentially the same except for 2 upgrades:
-Radeon HD 5770 video card vs Radeon HD 5570
-Two 1 TB 7200 hard drives vs one 1 TB 7200 hard drive
My question is this.....is it worth the extra $200 to get the better graphics card and the dual hard drive set up?  Will it really make that much of a difference in the performance?  I'm thinking it will, especially the ability to set up the 2nd hard drive as my scratch disk.
For what it's worth, both systems have the i7 860, 8 GB ram, and Windows Home Premium 64 bit.
    Thanks.

In very general terms, the requirements for Video will exceed those for Photoshop (PS). If you are looking at PrPro CS5, then the video card WILL make a difference, and PS CS5 now takes advantage of the video card, than before.
For PS, the minimum HDD setup would be a 2x system with physical (not partitions) HDD's. Video has more requirements in this area, and I would say that a 3x setup is the minimum. Do read Harm's linked article, as it is the best that I have ever run across.
For the PS setup, just locate the Scratch Disks for PS on your extra HDD's, the ones with your Project and PrPro Scratch Disks.
Enjoy the new computer, and welcome to the forum,
    Hunt
