Glitch: Turkish keyboard support

Hello, everyone. There's a glitch in the Turkish keyboard support. I enabled the Turkish language in Settings. All of the Turkish letters work except for the "i" with and without the dot. By holding down "i," I can get both lower-case versions (although the menu shows you opposite from what you get: i gets you ı and ı gets you i). That's fine; I can work around that. However, the uppercase i does NOT give the "i" with the dot. It is not full keyboard support if a letter from the alphabet is missing!
Does anyone know when this serious glitch will be corrected? (It'd also be nice if they fixed the switched lowercase i options, too.)
Thank you,
Tanya

Nevermind--I figured it out. Although a number of foreign characters appear when you hold down a letter key, it's not a complete list of options. You need to click on the world icon to the left of the spacebar to change the keyboard during that session. You'll see the spacebar briefly flash with the name of the language you're changing it to.
Take care,
Tanya

  • Turkish Language Support for iPhone

    When will
Turkish Language Support for iPhone and
    Turkish Keyboard Support for iPhone
    Turkish Auto-Correction and Turkish Dictionary
    be available?

Yes, Apple never responds such questions. I also sent them feedback on their web site (http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html). No response.
Happily though, Apple released iPhone firmware 2.2. And with that Turkish language support and Turkish Keyboard support (sort of) are available at last! (Several months later Apple officially released iPhone in Turkey!)
Turkish Keyboard support is sort of available because it is not a real keyboard. You can see and use Turkish characters only by pressing your finger on their english counterparts and waiting a while. Auto correction for Turkish language is not available yet.
PS: I do not wait a response from Apple. I just want to hope that some folks from Apple may be reading these discussions.
    thanks

  • Turkish language support for Touch ?

My father-in-law is returning back to Turkey soon and has been eyeing the Touch/iPhone. I know the iPhone would be a lost cause for him over there, but maybe the Touch could work.
Is there any plans to get Turkish language support on the Touch (other than the hacks I see on usenet which I would rather not try). Tangental to that is there or will there be a iTunes store for Turkey ?
    thanks
    -jeff

Well, the "Turkish" option in the Settings/General/International/Regional Format/ is only for the regional settings.. like the time is displayed without the AM/PM and the calendar shows months/days in Turkish, its limited to time&date at the moment. WE hope that Apple will soon provide some other languages' support to iPhone.
For typing It would be great if the Turkish Qwerty Keyboard and Turkish smart dictionary service could be enabled, but until then you need to keep on pressing longer to the letters and then choosing the character you want and press on the "cancel" button when the iPhone suggests you a different word in "english" when you typed correctly in Turkish. The annoying part with that is when you press the "space" bar it automatically "corrects" the word, thats perfect when you type in English, but with that feature enabled its almost a torture to type in Turkish it automatically makes the word "wrong", i.e. when you type "EK" its offers you "SO" pressing the space makes it "SO" . With a couple of manual corrections it learns most of the words but still not enough. . With more Turks buying the iPhone Apple really should add some Turkish language support to it.

  • Portuguese Keyboard Support on iOS

About keyboard support, I have 2 iPads (generation 1 and 2) and I still am unable to use it daily for work because of the lack of language support on the keyboard layout. That standard keyboard on iOS is fine for messaging but not for any article writing, since you need to have full character support.
Recently, on advice from a friend I bought the EasyKEYKeyboard app from the iTunes Store and it shows that a pratical full language keyboard is possible on a touch screen device such as the iPad. Unfortunately the app is a word processor on its own and does not bring that keyboard to the rest of the system. As a word processor is buggy and unreliable (no Save and it crashes, making you loose everything you wrote... Scary, never used it again).
Why doesn't Apple understand that iPad will only be used worldwide for serious work unless you bring full language keyboard support?
I can believe that millions of non-english users will feel the same...

You seem to be unaware of the standard iOS system for creating accented characters.  It is to hold down the key for the base letter and then to select from the popup menu that appears the version that you want.  You do not even need to activate the Portuguese keyboard for this, English will work fine.  But the Portuguese keyboard will give you Portuguese spellcheck and autocorrect.
The iPad has been enormously successful worldwide with a huge volume of sales, and a large number of languages supported in the OS interface, the keyboard, and the autocorrect system, which you can see listed in the tech specs.

If you find the screen keyboard too cumbersome for serious work, you can use a bluetooth hardware keyboard.

  • Bootcamp and Apple Keyboard Support

    Hi,
Been looking on the internet but have had no luck!
When using a Macbook Pro in Windows XP, I am having trouble getting inverted commas, speech marks, whatever you call them, basically this below
The comma below is fine, when you shift however to use these inverted commas, Apple's keyboard support provides this
    ¨
which isn't very useful when writing VB code. Was wondering if anyone knew any possible solutions? Every other button and when shifting provides the right charactor. At the moment Im having to copy and paste them which is most frustrating as I have to copy and paste other stuff all the time too.
    Thanks

  • Keyboard support for AR 9.4.1 in ubuntu

I'm running adobe reader 9.4.1 in my ubuntu desktop. I would like to make annotation on pdf files by highlighting texts in different colors. Of course I can achieve this by several clicks, but I prefer to do that more efficiently. I explored a software called Autokey which can simulate pre-assigned keyboard strokes. I intend to use it to change the color of the highlights. But my research stopped at changing the color in the property menu of adobe reader, where it seemed impossible to active another color setting except the default one by keyboard strokes. It seems that I can do these in other adobe versions. Am I missing anything here?

My problem seems too specific to search for. I'm not looking the manual for the keyboard support, I'm rather reporting a bug and pursue a fix.

  • Turkish tts support for s60 v3 &s60 v3.1

    Dears,
I own one e90 commi and one e61i and using them flawlessly.
    I am living in Turkey.
I am using text to speech function for emails and sms mesages in English while driving, it is a very useful function.
Hence I am living in Turkey, most of my messages are obviously in Turkish.Unfortunately messages in Turkish are completely meaningless when they are read in English language and accent.
When I check Nokia's text to speech support page, I realized that there is Turkish language modules for S60 v3.2 phones like e75, n78, n79, n85, n96, so on, however there is no turkish language support for s60 v3 and s60 v3.1 phones (i.e. e61i and e90).
Is it possible to implement the language support for v3.2 phones to v3 & v3.1 phones?
Do you have an idea about it?
And one question to nokia guys; there are many nokia phones sold in Turkey (you know sales figures better than me), why dont you support Turkish tts for older phones?

As I know, 2.1 version doesn't work with Tuxedo Corba on RH AS3.0.

  • Keyboard Support in Web Dynpro

    Hi,
in the description of Web Dynpro is written, that "Automatic operation of the Web Dynpro application using the keyboard" is supported (see: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/15/0d4f21c17c8044af4868130e9fea07/content.htm)
But on the other hand KeyListeners are not supported yet ( Programming for specific keys like ESC)
So what kind of keyboard support is provided at the moment, only the keys possible in a browser or are there already other possibilities available?
Namely we need to support pressing of F1 for help and triggering buttons with a combination of keys.
Any hints to this topic are appreciated.
    Greetings.
    Achim

    Hi,
sorry for the long pause but I was on pentecost holiday...
So this means that only the standard keys of a browser (like  TAB) can be used at the moment? Or are there already other keys supported?
Does the new SAP GUI 6.40 for Java (which can be used to view Web Dynpros as well) buy me anything in terms of keyboard support?
    Greetings.
    Achim

  • Can I buy a Mac with a Turkish keyboard in the States?

    Hi,
I was wondering if I could buy a MacBook Pro with a Turkish keyboard while I'm in the States? In the store you can choose whether you want an English, Spanish, Japanese or a French keyboard, is this possible for any other language such as Turkish?
Please don't answer saying "Why don't you just buy it in Turkey?" because the Macs in Turkey are out dated and cost nearly twice as much.
    Thank you in advance.

No, you cannot buy Mac's with Turkish keyboards in the US.
Mac's are always more expensive outside the US and everyone thinks it would be great to bypass their local resellers to save money, but it's not possible unless you want one of those 4 keyboards listed in the store.

  • Symbols on Turkish keyboard??

Hi! I'm a new Macbook user, just about 2 hours
My macbook is with Turkish QWERTY keyboard. As I have seen, English keyboards have buttons for special symbols like @, but in Turkish keyboards they are nowhere around.
    Please help me!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Go to >System Preferences>Language and Text>Input Sources. Check the box that says "Keyboard and Character Viewer". This box will appear in your menu bar somewhere on the right side. When you click on it, you will get a box with all kinds of special characters. You can find @ in punctuation, along with things like §. There are tons of symbols here organized by category.
    Good luck!

  • K7N420 pro usb keyboard support

I can not set some of the settings in the bios namely the usb keyboard support, when I try to set it comes up with a blank choice list and I can not get out of it. I am forced to reboot. I had flashed the bios to get support for my XP 2000+ but the system has been staple for months since I flashed the bios. I just tried V2.8 bios with no luck. • Sudden loss of Keyboard support on Bootcamp in WIndows

I have noticed problems creeping into Windows operation in Bootcamp since I installed XP SP3. I attempted to create a new user account and found that the Apple Keyboard support driver would not install ... so went back to my old account where the keyboard was working just fine -and discovered the same thing. No Keyboard when in Windows. I use the standard white Keyboard supplied with my iMac. Odd thing is that it works when I open the the partition using Parrallels. Same OS access through Bootcamp no more Keyboard (it has worked for over 3 years now) - in Parrallels it still works????
I have tried loading drivers from Leopard disc and even resorted to the older set I created when setting up Bootcamp the first time a few years back ... but no luck. Any help from out there would be great.

I wish I could help you but all I can say is "Me too".
    I have a 2006 MacBook Pro 17" (2.16 GHz Core Duo) with 10.5.6 and BootCamp 2.1 installed.
I like to run in "clamshell" mode (connected to my 30" Apple Cinema HD Display) with the aluminum "Chiclets" keyboard attached directly to the monitor along with a Microsoft Optical Mouse as well.
If I boot directly into Windows XP SP3 I get no keyboard response at all from either the built-in keyboard or the aluminum keyboard attached to the Cinema Display.
I can get the mouse to work (Microsoft mouse) but the Trackpad does not work.
Both mouse and aluminum keyboard work in VMware Fusion 2.0.1. That is the only way I can run Windows XP SP3 on the machine right now. I cannot use Boot Camp to run it on the raw metal as it currently stands because of this keyboard/Trackpad problem. This *****!
