Glitch with Tempo and Pitch Setting

I set up a couple of tracks to follow tempo and pitch. When I close a file and then reopen it, the box to do this is still highlighted but the tracks have been resized, causing them to overlap and have their ends cut off. Is there a way I can stop this from happening?

Does it happen with only one project or all projects?
If it happens with all projects, I'd try to delete the Preferences, that usually helps, if settings don't stick:

GarageBand 11 - my track won't let me select, as I did with GB '08. Also unable to change tempo and pitch of imported MP3 songs.

I have a Mac desk top. I think my operating system is IOSx 6. Snow leopard. II used to have GarageBand 08 and was able to select my imported MP3 audio, as well as change the tempo and pitch of a song. GarageBand 11 is not allowing me to do any of that. I am at my wits and end and thinking about buying an expensive editing program since I have spent hours researching, to no avail. I used to use the AU pitch option in '08 version but I can't even see options to edit MASTER TRACK, in order to select AU PITCH from the drop down menu.

Yes I have removed and reinstalled WMP.
I had good results with the PD6 application installed on the default path onto the C: drive with the one exception that if the application was launched by accident and the user data path was not available, the PD6 application would blow away my custom user path registry settings. Now that I know what they are I have made a .reg file to repair my registry to my desired user data paths.
Installing the application on the removable drive appeared to help prevent me from launching the application by accident and overwriting my registry with default user paths.
So which is the less of the two evils?
If the application directory is not available, windows media player still tries to launch the .msi for installing PD6.
If I install the application to the C: drive but the user data to the removable drive, launching the PD6 application without the user data drive will still corrupt my registry settings for a user data path.
Both these issues seem like a logical (if not easy) fix that should be done in the PD6 application and installation package. I mean really, cannot anyone tell me why windows media player is checking the PD6 application directory? Why in PD4 did we have an option control for setting the user data path from the PD4 application? Why is this option not in the PD6 application, just the installer?
I am given a choice during installation to move the user data to another non default location. Why else would this be provided if not to accommodate my kind of request to store the user data into an alternate location other than “My Document”. Certainly Palm is not trying to force the users on how to protect and store their personal data?

We have 2 iphone 4s which have just been updated with IOS5 and whilst setting up icloud the phone contacts were merged and now i have lost my phone contacts on first iphone 4 which have been replaced with phone contacts from my second iphone 4. help?

We have two Iphone 4 handsets. I updated first handset with IOS5 and activated Icloud with my existing Itunes account details - no problems. I then did the same on the second handset and instead of setting up a different Icloud account for the second hanset I mistakenly used the same details as on the first handset and merged the contacts thinking it would add all contacts to both handsets but it instead replaced contacts from first handset with those from the second handset.
How do I get back my contacts from the first hanset?
I read somewhere Icloud saves the last 3 backups which suggests all my contacts that have disappeared are somewhere but how do i find them ???

Here's how to do it.
1. App Store, iTunes Store should have the same AppleID on Computer and iPhones. (Free to share apps, music and books... )
2. Person A uses the same purchasing account for everything (ie. email, contacts and ...).
3. Person B have the same purchase account see no. 1 (for App Store and iTunes Store) but create a second AppleID for iCal, e-mail, contacts and etc.

Forum Glitch with copy and paste

So I've discovered a glitch with the forums that I'm not sure if anyone else is experiencing...
If you copy anything from the posting window while creating a new discussion or if you paste anything into this window, it causes a message to be displayed saying "are you sure you want to navigate away from this page? Your content will not be saved." when you press the Post Message button.
I have a habit of hitting select all and copy when I'm making posts just incase anything goes wrong. If I do that on these forums, I cannot post and loose all of my info.
If I try to paste in a link from the clipboard, the same thing happens.
I thought this is something quite serious that I should bring to everyone's attention.
This happens in both IE 8 and Firefox 3.5.7

Numerous glitches with A2DP and AVRCP Bluetooth

I am seeing numerous glitches with the new BT profiles. I have two stereo headsets that support these profiles. Both show serious problem. Most are occasional. The 3G is supposed to support these profiles.
- Constant: the skip forward and back controls do not work at all, ever.
- Pause/Play did not work at first, at all, on either device. Now it seems to work.
- I get audio problems. After connecting one headset, then switching to another, I got no audio at all, although Pause/play worked!
- Another audio problem was that when the Sony BT100CX was connected, it would work fine when the screen was active, but when the screen went dark, the audio would get chopped up. In this chopped up mode, I seemed to be getting about every other quarter second of audio. This problem would go on and off as I switched the screen on and off with the top button.
Are other people seeing the problems? Is Apple aware of them (other than my calls)?

The headphone controls are not designed to work with the 3.0 update, however the controls on the screen I haven't experienced a problem with yet. I have noticed that if you have Wifi connected and bluetooth active at the same time you will get a distorted signal sound on the headphones and wifi will be weak. Also note that even with your headphones off and bluetooth in discovery mode if you switch from that to Airplane mode and try to switch back I have not been able to get a signal neither from 3g, edge or wifi, it just says searching and never finds anyting. I let it search until the battery went dead. I turned bluetooth off and switched to airplane mode and back again with no problem. If you turn wifi off and just use 3g you should be fine with using the headphones as far as sound quality and no cut offs when screen goes off.

My Iphone 5 hang many times. When I connected with itune and restore setting, my phone just start from the activation. But I can't continue the installation. It shows that can't activate right now.

I had problems with my iphone 5. After hanging many times, I connected with itunes and restored the settings. But it didn't work. And my phone is now starting with "Hello" to newly activate. Again, it could not proceed but saying "cannot activate now".. please help me how to do. Thank you very much.

How can I change the tempo and pitch of individual tracks on Garageband 10.0.3?

I just recently started using Garageband 10.0.3 and it's been updated completely, which is good in some ways. However, many things have been cleaned up and/or hidden and it's taken me a while to find certain tools or do certain things.
I've been trying to change the pitch of tracks in my project and it's taken me forever to find out how, but eventually I did. I think, though, that it changes the pitch of the whole project? (I changed the pitch by using one of the plugins, I think it's called AUPitch?) I have to double-check that, but that's how I've been changing the pitch of the tracks.
To the bigger problem... Tempo. I have searched for a good 2 hours trying to find out how to change the tempo of tracks individually and I'm really frustrated. I tried the BPM solution (changing the BPM at the very top), but that seems to change the whole project. I just want to change the tempo of individual tracks, not the whole thing. Is it even possible now?
I'm really considering using a different program. Hopefully this is just me being slightly clueless and not Garageband's fault.

The AuPitch filter will work on individual tracks, no problem.
But you can change the tempo only for the entire project with the global tempo setting or the Tempo Track.
As a work-around: To change the tempo of individual tracks solo each track, change the tempo, then bounce the track as an audio file and reimport that audio file with the changed tempo to an audio track.

Strange glitch with keynote and iPad

I have been using Keynote files created on my Mac and transferred to my iPad3 to go over problem sets in my physics classes. I tecently ran into an odd glitch. Sometimes, an arrow pointing upward on the original slide, shows reversed on the iPad, and vice-versa. I don't see a clear pattern yet of when it happens. Has anyone seen it and have an idea of what is going on?

Actually, all of my builds (scale, scale up, wipe in a bunch of diections, appear) work fine. This phenomenon happens on some vertical arrows in the absence of any builds. It really is odd. As I'm importing the file, it shows a preview with the correct orientaion, but as I watch, it flips just before the import is complete!
It's not very hard to fix in Keynotte, on the iPad, just irritating.

Glitch with Firefox and Adobe Reader.

I wasn't sure whether to post this in the Adobe Reader forum or the Mozilla Firefox forum, but decided to post here.
I am running the latest versions of Adobe Reader X and Firefox on Windows Vista.
Open Firefox. Open a new tab. Then open an Adobe Acrobat document within the new tab. Now it won't let you highlight text in the urlbar with the mouse for copy/paste. You have to click the "Go back" arrow, or go into another site, and then return to the adobe document in order to copy/paste. I tried the same thing with Internet Explorer and Chrome, and the glitch didn't seem to happen in those. It seems to be only an issue with Firefox.

I am using the latest version, 3.6.15.
Admittedly it's a minor glitch. I discovered it when I was trying to copy the url for some show's TV listings that were in pdf format in order to help someone on another forum, and I couldn't get it to highlight the text.

Artefacts/Glitches with Gnome3 and Intel X3150

Hello everyone,
I've been using Gnome3 on my Asus 1215N for a while but I've noticed Artefacts/Glitches when using some functionalities of Gnome Shell like "Activities" or the integrated Chat with Empathy.
Is this a driver problem or is there any type of workaround to solve the problem ?
PS : I have a similar bug with Libreoffice there is some pictures of the problems (While the graphical problem only appears when moving the mouse with Activites, in Libreoffice the problem appears when libreoffice is open...)

I'm not really sure if it's the same bug (how can I be sure of it ?). but from the description it looks a little different from my problem, since (as far as I've been able to test) my problem is restricted to gnome and KDE, and doesn't look like a XORG issue by itself as my arch installation which I'm running right now using XFCE DE has no issues so far with video driver and KMS fully configured.

4GB OR only 2.2GB for single 32bit application in 64bit windows with 4GT and LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE set?

Recently I used a software requiring a large memory. And I have tried to allocate more memory for this application, and I find some interesting phenomena which is different from the case I searched from Internet. Therefore, I am very curious about the mechanism
of memory management of WoW64.
With default setting, my application can only apply for 1.6GB memory (less than 2 GB barrier). And I use increaseuserva command by BCDedit, and it worked. With this setting, it can apply for 144 MB more memory (far less than 3 GB described on MSDN https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa366718(v=vs.85).aspx).
And then I modified the PE headers to add a LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE flag, and it worked. The limit was changed to be 2.2GB, and it is far less than 4GB as they said!
What happened? How can I increase the limit to 4 GB?
I have tried two systems 64bit Win7 home premium and 64bit Windows10 TP.
Could anybody tell me what is the problem is?

Help with AExp and airtunes - setting up network

So I've had one of the original airport expresses for a few years, and in my previous house I used it in WDS remote mode, using the ethernet jack as an internet connection for a..ahem...well known gaming console, and the audio jack for airtunes.
In my new home, I have a more complicated setup that I like better, but I have a problem understanding the steps I need to take to get the airtunes speakers to show up in itunes.
Here is my setup:
the main router is a flying saucer airport extreme (creating a b/g wireless network) -- ethernet out of this into a wired hub, from which run ethernet cables to jacks in the rooms of my house. my iMac is connected to the wall in my office via ethernet. In the living room there is a new model airport extreme, in client mode, creating an 'n only' network. My living room devices are plugged into this airport extreme. (apple tv, tivo,and "gaming console")
I am hooking up some outdoor speakers, and was going to use my old airport express as the way to get music to them. I once again have it set up in WDS remote mode. Everything so far seems to be working, however I can only see the airport express as a speaker option on my iMac iTunes if the airport card is turned on and connected to my b/g network (originating from the airport in the attic) which it isn't usually. I keep it turned off so the imac will use the ethernet hard connection to get media to the apple tv.
I guess I sort of understand that it needs to be connected to the wireless network of which the airport express is a part. And I guess it's not a big deal...if I'm going to be outside, I will have to turn on the receiver, turn on the imac wireless card, and select the express in the iTunes speaker menu. Three steps instead of two...no big deal.
But it seems logical to me, that if everything is connected to each other in some way, it shouldn't matter if the computer streaming music to a wireless device is connected to the network wired or wirelessly.
I guess I could also just leave the wireless card turned on, but if I do, does iMac know to use the fastest possible connection to stream data across the network? i.e. hard wired. (the express is on the b/g network that I keep to allow older devices to get on the network)
If you are still reading at this point, I am impressed. You truly have the heart of a teacher. Please let me know if anyone can explain this to me. Thanks so much.

P.S. -- I just now noticed that under system preferences/network you can 'set service order' which seems to be in what order iMac goes through your network connections. I had never noticed that.
I guess this means that it will default to ethernet (if I put that at the top) for a network connection, but still have the airport express available to it.
So if I am understanding this correctly, it appears the solution is to keep airport turned on and connected to the b/g network.

Using expdp to export a mix of tables with data and tables without data

Hi,
I would like to create a .dmp file using expdp, exporting a set of tables with data and another set without data. Is there a way to do this in a single .dmp file? For example, I want all the tables in a schema with data, but for the fact tables in that schema, I only want the fact table objects, not the data. I thought it might be easier to create two separate .dmp files, one for each scenario, but would be nice to have one .dmp file that satisfies my requirement. Any help is appreciated.

You could do this with where clauses. Let's say you have 10 tables to export, 5 with data and 5 without data. I would do it like this
tab1_w_data
tab2_w_data
tab3_w_data
tab4_w_data
tab5_w_data
tab1_wo_data
tab2_wo_data
tab3_wo_data
tab4_wo_data
tab5_wo_data
I would make one generic query
query="where rownum = 0"
and I would make 5 specific queries
query=tab1_w_data:"where rownum > 0"
query=tab2_w_data:"where rownum > 0"
query=tab3_w_data:"where rownum > 0"
query=tab4_w_data:"where rownum > 0"
query=tab5_w_data:"where rownum > 0"
The first query will be applied to all tables that don't have their own specific query and it will export no rows, the next 5 will apply to each of the corresponding table.
