  • Is there a way to do a global font change in iWeb '09?

    Hi,
I inherited a web site, created in iWeb '09. I've got the site files on my Mac ... when I start iWeb,
and select a page to edit, it complains:
The following errors occurred while trying to open this page:
    Missing Font TrajanPro-Regular
    Missing Font TrajanPro-Bold
    Missing Font HelveticaNeue-Roman
Many (most or all) pages in the web site need these three fonts.
Thru googling, I know that those three fonts are proprietary fonts that I could purchase.
However, it seems silly to buy and install a font when the web server and end-user's
browser won't have it (and will therefore get substituted at their end).
Therefore, I think that my best choice is to change all uses of those fonts in the web site to
be uses of some "standard web fonts".
So, how do I do a global font change or substitution in iWeb '09? It seems like an awfully
obvious thing to want to do. (Finding each instance of use and manually selecting the text
and doing a font change is simply not feasible.)
(E.g.: Change "HelveticeNeue-Roman" to "Helvetica Regular")
    thanks,
    Stan

There is no way to do what you want. Send a feature request to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback.iweb.html.

  • Is it possible to do a GLOBAL color change for both text and graphics in ACrobat XI?

I used to do this using the Pitstop Pro plugin but now Pitstop is almost $900 and this is the only thing that I would use it for, not worth the investment
I can change text color by selecting individual text items, but I want to change all of the red text into white text
I also need to change all of the red graphics into white graphics and I can't figure out how to do that either
I have a trial version of XI on a Mac and will buy it if it can do what I am trying to do, i.e. global color changes to both text and graphics
    thanks!!

I have version 6, but it is way out of date, doesn't work on my current system, I downloaded a trial version of the new one, version 12 I think, now I have to decide if I can afford to buy it, it is not cheap!
oops, sorry, I didn't read your entire message, aargh!
I'll check with them if I can upgrade from this early version, thanks for the suggestion!

  • Global audio adjustments

Having some problems making global audio adjustments. For example: I have a project with four audio tracks, and I would like to do the following:
    -pan all tracks to center
    -track A1 level to -inf
    -track A2 level to 6dB
So I select all tracks, and Modify>Audio>Pan Center
Since A1 and A2 come in as a stereo pair, I select A1 and A2 and Modify>Stereo Pair to allow me to adjust their levels separately.
I then select all segments on A1 and Modify>Levels and slide all the way down to -inf
Last I select all segments on A2 and Modify>Levels and set level at 6
It seems that final level adjustment should only apply to A2, but I find that it has also applied to a few segments on A1. I'd rather not have to adjust the levels on each segment one at a time.
    Any thoughts?

I've tried using Relative and Absolute. No difference. I find that certain pairs of audio segments continue to act as if they are a stereo pair.
I can then select the pair, turn Stereo Pair on and then off again, Pan and adjust levels for each segment. This process defeats the whole purpose of saving time by adjusting each track globally.
    Anyone else have ideas?

  • Global Calendar Changes Affecting Project Calendars

How do you prevent Global Calendar changes from changing the Project Calendars? When Project Calendars are created, they are copied from another calendar, say Global Calendar. Now, when the Global Calendar is updated or changed it changes my Project Calendar. How do you prevent this from occurring?

If the change to the Global Calendar is valid, it IS going to impact all local schedules. The Global Calendar is the basic Enterprise assumption. It is what contracts are written around.
If the projects are using a Global Calendar they are going to forecast the calendar, but a resource's calendar can allow performing a task anytime in the operational plan. That is the nature of high level settings and local or operational variants. Project execution is not nailed to the Global Calendar, Your original schedule forecasted from the Global structure and was accepted. If experience leads you to make change in the Global Calendar, that is reality. You will forecast the added knowledge gained from experience and set in the Global Calendar. If it creates Risk in the existing projects, deal with it locally. You record dynamic adjustments in the Actuals. You forecast local results from to-date actuals and local resource calendars. Management 'is' overcoming Global problems with local resources.
Leave the Global Calendar alone for operational exceptions. Remove exceptions from the Global Calendar. The Global Calendar is for planning. That Global Calendar is still the basic assumption, despite operational problems in your schedule. If the Global Calendar has a holiday, the projects it is assigned to forecast the holiday. Simplify your Global Calendars to match basic, high-level, factual assumptions.
Let your Resource Calendars forecast the detail of operations and overcome the Global Calendar. But actualize what happens no matter what any calendar says so calculation is up to date.
Calendars are strictly for calculation, for forecasting. You can always log progress on Christmas or during Ramadan, just as you logged no progress during the hurricane. But Joe Labor Unit will not forecast performing his task in NYCNY on even a regular Monday if his calendar has him training in Borneo. Cancel Joe's trip and change his calendar. He is available in NYCNY on the date you want now. His forecast changes, the project forecast changes. Primavera is perfectly dynamic. And the project will not forecast work on Christmas or during Ramadan if the Global Calendar says these are exceptions to your usual M-F 8-5 with an hour for lunch. Global Calendars are the sub-structure that we accept in building the initial, accepted Project Schedule and that provide the framework we analyze Risk mitigation around in operations.
"We're forecasting a late finish now due to the hurricane." "Schedule the workforce to work through the Christmas holidays." (adjust, adjust, adjust) "That brought completion in." The Global Calendar assumes no hurricanes and getting Christmas off. After the hurricane, the PM sets the operational guideline. The Scheduler adjusts the resource calendars to overcome the hurricane period's lost progress. As soon as the As-built has the adjustments, the schedule calculates and forecasts completion on time. The workforce is not scheduled to work Christmas in the Global Calendar. In their Resource calendars, now they are. The schedule forecasts work at Christmas. You mitigated the hurricane risk by overriding the Global Calendar with Resource Assignments. If you make those Resource Calendar Christmas adjustments in September when the hurricane hit, you will forecast project completion on time in the next report from P6. You pull completion back to the left after operational realities pushed it out to the right.
The original schedule is Art- planning, compromise and commitment. The ongoing fine-tuning and manipulation of As-built detail makes Art a Masterpiece by giving the heartbeat of the project and implementing the vision of its manager. Or not..

  • ITunes 11 global view change.

Is there a way to apply artist list view globally to all playlists in iTunes 11?
I've got a few hundred and don't want to change each one manually.

I have the same issue; some songs that are already downloaded appear twice in my library - once as the regular file and once as an available icloud download. If I download from icloud it adds the file to my computer again, as an m4p instead of an mp3.

  • Why is Dynamic Link between Premiere Pro CC 2014 and After Effects CC 2014 not syncing audio changes?

When I try to use a Dyamic Link between something I've cut in Premiere and a composition in After Effects, if it is simply an audio level change it will not update in AE.  Only if I alter the Video track does it then take the changes reflected.  Any suggestions as to what is causing this?
Running Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 and After Effects CC 2014.

As Dave alludes, AfterEffects is all about the visual changes ... or at least, mostly. For changes to the audio outside of PrPro's internal controls, highly suggested you use Audition instead. It is all about the sound ... and yes, will update PrPro when used correctly.

  • Why Are My Audio Changes Not Saved?

I'm using iMove HD 6.0.3. When I select a clip in the timeline viewer whose volume I want to change and I drag the slider to decrease the percentage the change is not recognized when I play the project again. I don't see an "apply" button anywhere or "add" or "update" but I assume there must be one somewhere because the way I'm doing it now isn't working. It's a very short project. Just 2 clips - the first one is 7 seconds the second is 12. Was just experimenting a little here.

You don't say which Mac you're using, or how much RAM you have, etc.
If your changes don't seem to have been recognised, try exiting iMovie and then restarting it. iMovie temporarily stores some video in a memory 'cache', and replays your video from there, without 'checking back' to see if there's a different version on the hard disc.
You could also try using ⌘S to Save your project after adjusting the audio, thus forcing iMovie to 'pay attention' to what adjustments you've just made.
Sometimes this happens just the first few times you use iMovie ..it then gets 'run in', and gets to know where and when to store and replay your material. Most programs need to build, er, what are they called, "pre-bindings" the first few times you use them, to create links with other software which they utilise or interact with. This may be one of those 'early times' in which your iMovie needs to get properly 'run in'.
    Seriously!

  • ITunes 11: Audio Changes?

I just downloaded the new iTunes 11 last night.
Upon playing some songs, they sound just all wrong now. What I mean by that is, it's like the equalizer settings have changed or something. I have had it set to where it is probably since 2002. I checked to make sure it was indeed on and it was. This started happening only after this new version and am wondering if anyone else is noticing this too, as well as if there is anything I could possibly change.

I think iTunes 11 sounds better than previous versions.
I don't listen from the computer or headphones, I just stream optically with an Airport Express into a high end hi-fi system and there are improvements in many areas of the audio; it is more dynamic, more spacious and tracks which needed a 'tweak' to the eq to remove an edge to vocals or brass no longer need adjustment.
It is not just my oppinion - others in my family have passed similar comments.

  • Global Name change

    Hi.
I've to gonfigure a replication management onto two db Oracle
8.1.7 but who installed that configured the same global name.
How can I change it in one of these db without re-installing ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi, Enrico.
Use alter database rename global_name to your.global.name
In the 8.1.X versions there is a global_name parameter in the
instance initialization file XXX.ora but its changing has no
effect. I guess, that database reads this parameter once at
first startup and store in the global_name table, so the only
correct way to change global name is "alter database rename... "
    Best regards,
    Andrew

  • Global Metadata changes in Bridge?

When CS5 Bridge and adding my metadata changes for my photos, I cant seem to find a way to make these changes globally to several large blocks of photos.  I tried to click on all the photos involved but then it refused to accept any changes.  PLease! tell me there is a way?  I even tried to "saved" the changes so all I had to do was one click on the new photo but that didnt work either.   I'm new to Bridge so please bear with me.  Thanks.

If what you want to change is description, credits, copyright and other IPTC and other metadata that is shown in File Info, you can use Bridge to change multiple image files at a time.  In Bridge, select the block or blocks of images for which you want to change the metadata. Then right click and and click on File Info... in the right-click popup menu (or instead ofright click, use Control-I or File > File Info...).  This will bring up File Info dialog box.  If what you want to change is in a saved template, you can click on the templates button (at bottom of file Info box between Preferences and OK).  Select and click desired template, which should bring up Import Options popup box. Select one of the three options, depending on how much of existing in-file metadata you want to keep or replace.  Or instead of calling a template, you can make entries directly into desired File Info fields.  Any information you enter in a field overrides existing metadata and applies the new value to all of your selected files.

  • Audio changes not affected in final sequence

I am working in Final Cut Pro 7
An occasional problem I am getting is: I work with several sequences, nine in total, before dropping them into a final sequence. I decide the audio needs altering in sequence number 3. I open up sequence 3 and alter the audio level. This change is not transfered to the final sequence. So I delete sequence 3 from the final sequence and insert the new amended sequence 3 but the changes are still not transferred to the final sequence even though when I open up sequence 3 the changes I made are there?
This morning this has gone a stage further. I altered the audio on a sequence within the final sequence and the changes were transfered to the final sequence - great!
Until I created the movie and the changes aren't in the movie but they are in the final sequence.
I hope you can follow that.
    Any suggestions welcome.

Not exactly sure what you're describing, but  "nests" sometimes have problems updating.  To force an update, simply select the nest in the containing sequence and hit control-b twice (toggle clip enable), or control click and choose remove attributes, make sure nothing is checked and hit ok.   I used to have this problem occasionally in earlier versions of fcp, but haven't seen it recently.
Make sure you understand how nests work.  To make changes to a nest double click on it in the containing timeline.  It will load as it's own tab in the timeline.  Make changes there.  They should be reflected in the containing timeline.  If not, try the solutions described above.
If you still have problems, consider simply copying the contents of your source timelines into a new timeline.
Oh yeah, you might try deleting your preferences.  www.digitalrebellion.com's preference manager does a great job.

  • Anyone else seeing their audio changing between sessions?

Something that's extremely annoying that has been happening to me in FCP X for a while now and I haven't figured out what's causing it: I setting my audio to -6 db throughout my project and then days or even weeks later, when I fire it back up, the audio is no longer pegging at -6db. It's usually lower. So if I go and change an attribute on that clip, the audio snaps back to where it was before. It's crazy.
    I'm using the Limiter effect.
    Anyone else getting this behavior?
    Thanks

Yep, just fired up my feature film that I went through and perfected the audio levels a couple weeks ago and now they are all screwed up. The levels are not what they were two weeks ago.
Maybe this is a Limiter effect bug.

  • "Global" color changing

(Apologies in advance for improper terminology.)
Question: Can I select a color in a photo (call it Color A) and then select another color in the photo (Color B) for Color A to globally replace?
Scenario:  I do amateur studio photos with single-colored foamboard for background.  Using the Color Adjustment, I can change this background color, but only within a narrow range (e.g., a blue foamboard can be adjusted to aqua or to lavender using Hue or Saturation, etc.).
But I'd like to change the blue to, say a red or a yellow (or whatever) out of the blue range.  Can I?
    Thanks.

But I'd like to change the blue to, say a red or a yellow (or whatever) out of the blue range.  Can I?
You can change the color using the color adjustment over a wide range; only not with the sliders, but by stepping the values with the arrow keys.
For example: I changed the blue sky to a reddish hue by advancing the hue value clos to 180 with the arrow controls.
For more control you would need to brush this adjustment in, to avoid painting the grass red as well.
These kind of adjustments are easier in Photoshop.
