Global Deployment Functionality

Hi,
We are trying to implement the Global Deployment functionality (RDBMS : 11.2.0.4.0 - Oracle Applications : 12.1.3).
A couple of Proposals have been created, all of them gave an error when moving from Step 3 to Step 4 (Final Step): "An invalid Setup has been detected for the current Transaction Type in Approvals Management please contact your system administrator." The error is displayed at the top of the page but I'm still able to Submit the Proposal.
The screenshot below is a list of the proposals created.
Then query SELECT * FROM HR.HR_PERSON_DEPLOYMENTS; but nothing shows up, I guess it's because they are not initiated yet so they are probably in another table (I don't know which one).
As you can see I'm not able to do anything on the proposals, all the buttons are grayed out.
I've tried logging in with different users, I also included all the functions related to Global Deployment on the navigator menu (at first I was just using the Professional), I also assigned to myself these responsibilities "Approvals Management Administrator", "Approvals Management Business Analyst", I've tried different business groups.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Regards,

Hi Avaneesh,
Thanks for your reply.
The problem is that the Host BG or Country still pays the employee and the Receiving BG or Country also pays the employee and reports taxing for that employee. When the Employee has a suspended assignment, payroll will not process for that employee. Currently there are a number of employees that are on the US payroll that work outside of the US, they are referred to as ExPats (for US purposes) but the receiving country refers to them as an InPat. Right now those employees are still part of the US Business Group and are paid out of the US but if they get transferred to another BG, we would not be able to pay them within Oracle Payroll in the US. Also now the US is starting to get InPats from other countries and will need to track them so that taxes can be reported to the US Government even though they are still being paid outside of Oracle in other countries.
Please help me in above scenario.
Thanks,
MP.

  • Adding Global Search function in Webhelp

    I have been asked to add global search functionality to my
    website. As far as i understand, the only way of doing this using
    Webhelp is to use merged projects?
    As i have 40 separate XPJ files (some very large), this
    merged projects method didn't work very well. For a start you got
    lost in the vast number of projects and bookmarks displayed in the
    merged TOC. Instead, from a main menu, each guide opens up in the
    same fixed window and just displays its owns TOC. Curently you can
    only search in the selected guide.
    Having looked at Peter Graingers site, ZoomSearch would seem
    to work OK. Does anyone know of any other method i could use or
    free alternatives to ZooomSearch?
    Thanks

    First, if you Google "refresh page" you'll have several
    JavaScript options available to choose from.
    Second, I can't show you my merged WebHelp, because it's
    proprietary online Help provided with our product, but I used
    Peter's method for a merged project of 42 projects, ~2.5K topics,
    and mucho graphics. Unfortunately, in a WebHelp merged project, RH
    provides an anemic, basic search only.
    We had elected to place our projects within 14 major
    categories in the TOC, so as to reduce the size of the TOC when the
    help was opened. Each category links to a "navigation" page in the
    parent project that provides a description of the category and all
    first-level topics within each project in the category. This
    category structure helps the user identify the major functional
    areas, and helps the seven writers keep track of where their
    particular projects appear.
    GETTING STARTED
    + Release Notes
    + Installation
    + etc.
    TRADING
    + Program Trading
    + Fixed Income Trading
    + etc.
    This proved serendipitous when we decided to use Zoom, since
    we were able to classify the same RH project folders under
    identical Zoom categories, allowing users to select a single
    category from a dropdown menu if they want more tightly focused
    results.
    Because our help is provided on a CD and is distributed on a
    customer's server, we've had to implement Zoom search in Javascript
    mode. Admittedly, the JavaScript mode in Zoom doesn't provide full
    functionality either, but it's still better than RH (you can use
    wild cards, special characters (underscore, colon, slash, etc.) to
    "join" words, etc.).
    Some Zoom issues:
    Since RH ignores special Zoom tags in source files, such as
    ZOOMSTOP/ZOOMRESTART, ZOOMKEYWORDS, etc., and over-writes them in
    the output when generating/publishing topic modifications, we are
    running the Zoom indexer against the source files and placing the
    five Zoom files (search.html, zoom_pageinfo.js, etc.) in the output
    folder. The Zoom 5.0.1005 build will automatically rename the path
    from the source "/projects" to the output "/mergedProjects" if you
    select that option.
    Currently, a bug in Zoom replaces any closing HTML tag (HREF,
    SPAN, etc.) that appears before a period, comma, semicolon, or
    colon with a space. So, you need to run a Find/Replace to eliminate
    those extra leading spaces (in the zoom_pageinfo.js file). I use
    FAR for this; you can create a .FarRun file with entries like this
    to do them in batch. Note that the 90_zoompageinfo_docsql01.FAR
    FarList was created to contain only the zoom_pageinfo.js file, and
    the "OpenFarList" line only needs to appear once in the .FarRun
    file. After I run the Zoom indexer against the project, I only have
    to double click the .FarRun file to run the batch replace.
    Good luck,
    Leon

    Also now the deprecated should show up in the property and method summary table.
    and when @see results in an invalid href, an additional attribute called invalidHRef will be added to the dita file - this isn't picked up by xslt but will be consumed by FB.

    Update!
    v3.1 has a major bug! Even though it may appear to work properly, strange characters may leak onto the end of URLs, and you may even get segfaults. Sorry I didn't properly test it before releasing it!
    Technical details:
    I calloc()ed the memory for the link href improperly, per:
    link = calloc((noprepend ? 0 : urllen) + i - s, 1);
    Once I fixed it with "+ 1", per:
    link = calloc((noprepend ? 0 : urllen) + i - s + 1, 1);
    it worked great.
    I may use a method that doesn't use a calloc() in the future; this works for now, and I'm not gonna knock it...

  • Global User Functions not replaced in Check Contraint

    Hi all,
    we just moved from ODI 11.1.7 to ODI 12.1.2 an have the following problem. Our global user functions which are used in several Check Conditions are no longer replaced during code generation.
    They worked like a charm in ODI 11.1.7. Any ideas?
    Kind regards,

    We are running Scenarios and Mappings from Designer using Local and Remote Agents (Simulation and Execution Mode). No difference at all.
    Global User Functions are replaced in Filters and Target Expressions but not in ODI Constraints.

  • Global Deployment process

    Hello Gurus,
    Is there a way when we do global deployment process in Oracle , we can also transfer Performance maangement and learning maanagement data. Is it possible via standard process or dod we have any work wround for this?
    Thanks in advance for help.

    Hi
    you can achieve it through as like returnable packaging scenario
    VA01 Create order - OR (in this order speciefy same material as returnable material)>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Outbound delivery
    If it return
    VA01 Create order - LA(RETURNABLE PICK UP) with refrance to previous order>>>>>Return delivery
    if it owned by customer
    VA01 create order - LN(returnable issue) with refrance to previous order>>>>> create invoice with refrance to order type LN
    Else
    You can Achieve it through consignment processing like
    Cnsignment fill up - (Sales document) KB - (Item Category) KBN
    Consignment Issue - KE - KEN
    Consignment return - KR - KRN
    Consignment Return - KA - KAN

    Hey folks, I need to make a program that can do something. Do you have sample code?
    What exactly do you have problems with? You didn't even tell us what the data you're bound to search looks like and how it's stored.

    You know, this forum is here to help you solve your Java problems, not to get you through your projects.

  • User Global Reassignment Functionality SAP IM (Incident Management)

    Hello experts,
    We currently have a requirement in SAP IM (Incident Management) in which we must reassign all tasks to a different user if necessary.
    For example:
    Employee A has 10 tasks.
    Employee A leaves the company and now these 10 tasks will now belong to Employee B.
    Is this mass substitution possible? Is there a standard functionality within IM that allows this?
    Thank you and best regards,
    Fernando Montenegro

    Hi Fernando,
    You can first go to table SWWIUSER (using SE16) and get all ID's from the user (Employer A).
    Then go to transaction code SWIA and put these 10 ID's of the task you want to forward to and use 'Administrator forward' option to forward these workitems to Employee B.
    You might need security access to execute SWIA so check with your security/BASIS team if you are missing the required access.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    D.M.

  • WAAS SAPGUI - Global Deployment

    Looking for any feedback or metrics that may have been gathered by others as part of analyzing the benefits of WAAS when accessing a single instance of SAP for a global user base. Bandwidth reduction per user, TFO metrics, end user response time measurements, etc. Most of the available Cisco/SAP WAAS analysis is focused on the HTTP version of SAP not the SAPGUI client.

    This might help.

  • Global javascript functions in cp8

    I need to be able to call a javascript function from any page, when needed, in cp8.
    I know I can add it as an "On Enter" / "Execute Javascript" on every page, but is there an easier way?
    I want to define the function once, but call it from anywhere without having to define it over and over.
    Anyone know how to do that in cp8?

    Yeah, that's always an option, and I've often edited some of the core files after publishing to get the result that I wanted.
    It works, but then every time I publish, my changes to the files are lost.
    I was really looking to avoid the workflow where my edits get overridden on publish and then have to be re-tweaked again.
    Hoping for an easier way to insert a javascript function that all the pages can utilize and not have to repeat.
    thanks for the response though

  • Transfer of Appraisal for Employee Transferred between BGs using Global Deployment

    Hi,
    This is on Performance Management-
    I need to transfer the appraisal details of employees who gets transferred accross BGs. Do I need to create each and every details on the appraisal screen with the new BG and personid or can tansfer the appraisal itself and that will do the work? Can anybody help me on that?
    Thanks!

    Yes, I tried that but the problem was that I was using FCODE CUTI to delimit it and I was getting strange errors. Now instead of using CUTI I am using AEND and I just change the end date for the relationship. That is also delimiting in other words (I guess )

  • Using a global variable within a function

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to learn how to use global variables, but can't quite get it right:
    Im trying to use two buttons, named UpButton and DownButton to control one global variable, p1
    A text field, named "Value" displays p1.
    Here's my code:
    p1 = 0;
    ButtonClick("UpButton", p1, 100,"Value");
    ButtonClick("DownButton", p1,(-100),"Value");
    function ButtonClick(ButtonName,Var,Increment,TextToChange){
                        sym.$(ButtonName).click(function(){
                        Var = Var + Increment;
                        sym.$(TextToChange).html(Var);
    However, it seems to be treating p1 as two different variables.
    Here's a link to the page to show you what I mean, apologies but this link wont work in google chrome because I'm using dropbox as a server temporarily
    In other browsers you may need to click "Show all content" or similar to any security warnings...

    Here are the project files:
    https://app.box.com/s/0shocivto8fl295h62uq
    Any help greatly appreciated, sorry if this is a stupid question,
    Katherine

    Hi Katherine,
    However, it seems to be treating p1 as two different variables.
    Indeed, your code created two different variables in two different scopes (I guess it as to do with JavaScript closures, but do  not ask me more, I am still a bit foggy about that idiosyncrasy ).
    In JavaScript, a primitive parameter – this is the case here with p1, a Number value –, is passed by value. In other words, a copy of the value is made. Your code handles two copies of the value stored in p1.
    This contrasts with an object parameter, which is passed by reference (address in memory), without copy. Your code would work if Numbers were passed by reference : the two Var (p1) would then point to the same address.
    The intent behind your trial is a global variable.
    1) Let us be as simple as possible :
    Stage : document.compositionReady event handler
    p1 = 0;
    buttonClick = function( Increment)
      p1 += Increment;
      sym.$( "Value").html( p1);
    Stage : DownButton.click event handler
    buttonClick(-100);
    Stage : UpButton.click event handler
    buttonClick(100);
    Without being preceded by the var keyword the variables are global.
    So the Number variable p1 can be accessed inside function buttonClick.
    And the Function variable buttonClick as well, is accessible inside click event handlers, everything (function definition +function calls) being inside the same symbol (Stage).
    2) Now, suppose this is no longer the case : you want to access a variable from another symbol.
    We create a new GraySquare symbol, instantiated both in the DownButton symbol (instance name DownSquare) and in the UpButton symbol (instance name DownSquare).
    Stage : document.compositionReady event handler
    p1 = 0;
    sym.buttonClick = function( Increment)
      p1 += Increment;
      sym.$( "Value").html( p1);
    The sym. prefix is now necessary to make the variable (here a Function, but you would proceed exactly the same with a String, Number or Boolean) accessible in other symbols.
    DownButton symbol : DownSquare.click event handler
    sym.getComposition().getStage().buttonClick( -100);
    UpButton symbol : UpSquare.click event handler
    sym.getComposition().getStage().buttonClick( 100);
    From these other symbols, the sym.getComposition().getStage(). prefix is necessary to acces to our global variable (function).
    The two examples are downloadable here : https://app.box.com/s/6vkyiqk7i8zwlw0j1wk1

  • Function deployment into a BI System from Source system

    Hello Experts,
    I am facing a problem while trying to deploy my function into the destination system. I have followed the process as described in the following link:
    Decision Service Management Decision Service Deployment Part II
    But somehow, I am facing problems. The error message is as below:
    Does anyone have some idea where the problem could lie?
    FYI: I am using the DSM and BRFplus in NW7.4 and trying to deploy the function into NW 7.3 system.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Mr. Ziegler,
    here are the details:
    I have two dates Infoobjects: 1. Start   2. End
    In BRFplus, I have created 3 elements(Timestamp - Date type) with DDIC binding with Infoobject.
    I want to calculate the difference of these dates and feed this to another Infoobject in SAP BW.
    In the transformation routine, I want to apply this "code generator" code and invoke the BRFplus function. Here is the code I am using:

          CATCH cx_fdt into lx_fdt.
      ENDTRY.
    Deployment of the Function into the managed system shows no error at all.
    Is there a way to see if at all this deployed function is available in BW (or the managed system)?

  • Multiple copies of functional global using vi references

    I have several producers aquiring data into a functional global (one functional global per producer). These functional globals are identical except for the name. Would it work to have only one functional global VI and obtain a separate reference for each producer? The matching consumer would also use the proper reference to consume the data.
    The functional global contains an array of the data which must be parsed by the consumer. It is possible that the array of data may not contain a complete set of data on a single "store" operation by the producer. The consumer, of course is written to check for a complete data record before completing processing on the record.

    Regardless of whether there is a better way, the answer to the question is yes. The FGV needs to be reentrant and the reference you open needs to be reentrant too and then you can use the CBR node to run the specific copy of the FGV.
    I thought a reentrant vi would not maintain the state of the uninitialized shift register from one call to the next.
    A reentrant VI will maintain the state of its uninitialized shift registers.  However, you need to be really careful how you do this.  First of all, you need to make sure it is set to Preallocate Clones.  What will happen in this situation is that each different place you call that subVI will each be a different clone.  This means that each call will have its own data.  The problem with this is that you can't share the data across multiple instances and therefore multiple loops.  If you don't believe me, go play with the Mean Point By Point VI.
    So what happens if you set it to shared clones?  A big freakin' mess.  You will have no control over which clone will be called where and there will be some major data corruption.
    This is why FGVs are almost always non-reentrant.
