We have activated Global employement in ECC 6. We are tracking employees with Personnel ID;  Do we need to run any conversion programs or any other configuration is required for ESS in Global employment scenario

Activated Business Functions: HCM_ESS_CE & HCM_ESS_CI_1
Below is the business scenario;
I have a personnel number 30000301 with 2 personnel assignment
30000301 for Home Country u2013 USA and 
30000325 for Host Country u2013 Germany
We are maintaining Personnel Assignment based on Personnel Number and not based on CP relationship.
Infotype 0105 u2013subtype 0001 is maintained with SAP name: PTESTUSER5 -  with both US and German country specific roles.
DO I need to maintain any other infotypes?
I created US role and German role and attach to user id PTESTUSER 5
Could you tell where exactly I need to maintain country grouping to the iView application parameter?
When I loged into Portal as PTESTUSER 5, am able to see two ESS Roles!!!!
Configuration for Assigning CE/GE Group Definition Settings to ESS applications:
Requirement: The employee of PERNR: 30000301, when he logs into portal and select the Personnel Information Bank Details, a dialog box should open with his 2 personnel assignment.
In ECC for his both Personnel Assignment, Infotype Bank is maintained.
In configuration: Assigning CE/GE Group Definition Settings to ESS applications
I need to maintain the Bank details for country US and Germany rite?
For US the following entry is already available and for Germany I configured as below
For USA:
Application ID     EMPLOYEE_BANK_US_SERVICE_13
Service Key     
Application Path     sap.com/essusbank
Application Name     Per_Bank_US_13

    Look at the information in http://help.sap.com for EACH version you are interested in. Also, keep in mind that most are backwards compatible (so, theoretically even on ECC5, you could run 4.6c ITS services if you so desired). For installation information, also check the documents on http://service.sap.com (can not post here because they are copywritten and part of the Marketplace access).

  • Global Employement Queries

    Hi,
    When I tried implementing global employment in the initial stage itself I am facing the below issue:
    1)
    When I am trying to maintain 710 Infotype for the host personnel number the system is giving the below error:
    The infotype is not accessible.( I am getting the same error for all MGE Infotypes)
    I have checked the activated of below switches
    CCURE GLEMP (Global Employee solution)
    CCURE PIDGN (defines which rule to generate PersonIDu2019s  -
    This switch is set to 1 ( Is this the reason for the above problem?)
    CCURE PIDSL (to activate selection using PersonID)
    2) In MGE Process, when ( In which Action) 0709 will be linked ? At which point Personnel no are linked?
    3) I understood the concepts but not getting how to implement and process of creating and testing the data in this module.
    Please help in getting the clear understanding of configuring and creating data for MGE.

    Try to activate gobal employee management via transaction SFW5.
    Most probably you are missing step when generation of Infotypes takes place.

    - We have some specific reports in R3 for each country.

  • Global employees (MGE) error in ESS

    Hi all,
    I am in the process of activating management of global employees in ESS. The leave screens & leave balances work fine for employees with 2 PERNR i.e. i get the pop-up box in ESS.
    The problem i have is with the address and bank screens. I get the following error in ESS: Global Employee scenario: Please refer to the IMG Employee Self-Service -> General Settings -> Concurrent/Global Employee  
    I have activated the address and bank services in IMG node "Assign CE/GE Group Definition Settings to ESS Applications" but its not working like Leave request did.

    I'm wondering if anyone has got address screen working for Global employees?

  • Global Employment - employee selection in ESS

    Hi,
    We are implementing global employment for ESS. So far everything is working fine, but I have one question. Their is message popup if an employee has multiple employee numbers. The popup comes up correctly but their is a strange message "message.MULTIPLE1" and "message.CHOOSE1". It looks like the message has not been entered in the R/3. Anybody has ideas? Are there any notes about this?

    You may be able to change this text using Personalization - Ctrl and Right mouse button on the UI element
    (this can be done at user level or globally in the PCD)
    Alternatively I would see if the problem still occurs on the latest stack - check also none of your XSS
    or BPs are running a null SP

  • Cannot enter Foreign Address in ESS

    Hello Gurus,
    We are working on ESS for Global employees. Activated all Global employement related switches, enviornment is 6.4, also made some enteries to table V_T7XSSPERFORADD to be able to get foriegn address dropdown activated.
    I donot understand where are we going wrong.
    also not able to find " Maintain Foreign Address Settings" in any of the SPRO nodes. What might be the problem, can anyone help

    Thank you for the reply, but we had already checked regarding all these three notes with the basis team, the team is not able to find the notes number. one reason might be because these notes implies to enhancement pack 3 but we have already upgraded to 4
    while looking for notes yesterday they found "SAPK-60318INEAHRRXX" package but the name was "60408INEAHRRXX"
    can you suggest how to check whether all the notes of 603 are embeded in 604 rechecked with basis but they are not able to find the particular note. and they keep on saying tht 604 is embeded on 603 so should include. seems logical.
    i thing there might be some silly problem with some screen or something, Any SUGGESTIONS?

    You can maintain global employement by using infty 0709, i.e., PERSON ID.
    You can store it manual;y, and for generation their is one FM "HR..."

    Make the necessary settings here:
    SPRO -> Personnel Management -> Employee Self-Service -> General Settings -> Homepage for Self-Services -> Resources-> Define Resources -> Define Resources (Add Entries)
    Changes made to this service will appear in ESS/MSS and will affect the Icons the manager or an employee will be able to see on the portal.

  • Text Maintenance behind IT0002 and IT0009

    Hello,
    We got a requirement to enable the Text Maintenance for IT0002 and IT0009.
    When going to SPRO -> Personnel Management ->Personnel Administration -> Customizing Procedures -> Infotypes -> Infotypes -> IT02  the Copy Infotype box is checked. When trying to uncheck the Copy Infotype box and check the Text allowed box and save I am getting the following error hard error
    Text maintenance not permitted as infotype part of Data Sharing (T582G).
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Dear Aranka,
    You are getting this error because these infotypes have an entry in T582G (shared infotype) in your system. When infotype are shared then the maintenance of text for these infotypes is not allwed, thus the error message in T582A.
    No if you do not need this infotype to be shared (if you are not using concurrent employment/or global employement) then you can remove these entries in T582G, then you will be allowed to select the text maintenance check box.

  • ESS- Global Scenario

    Hi All,
    We have a scenario to see both Home as well as host country master data for an employee using ESS/ MSS.
    For eg: Person A in Home country- Pernr 1 and in host country- pernr 2. Employment status of pernr 1 is inactive in home country and pernr 2 is active in host country.
    As per requirement pernr 2 sould be able to change the data in the home country too. for an example address data
    I have collected some info from sap help from belwo mentioned link, but still not able to arraive at the solution.

    The number of countries you implement definitely impacts ESS fairly heavily.  Certain ESS applications are country specific, such as the personal data editing, so the more countries you have, the more involved your ESS implementation will be.  A simple example I just encountered at our client is for benefits enrollment in the US you can choose your smoker status (smoker, non-smoker).  The default canada screen from SAP did not have the same field available, although it was needed for the customers benefit election process so they had to customize the canada screen.  each process for each country would have to validated to your needs. 
    Than for MSS - everything is fairly global, one application from SAP.  However, the proceses on your side may not be truly global. 
    Say for intance you go-live with Time approval for vacation and sick days.  you may only have that live for US managers, and not for other countries.  Than you need to decide if you will explicity hide the time application from non-us managers.  and can you even hide, because what if you have non-us managers that may have US employees and non-us employees? 
    If you need to "separate" MSS functionality, based on what is live for certain countries, it will be custom development.  This same questioning should be applied to each MSS process you consider going live with.

    is this standard iview? Please can you verify or is it ITS BASED?
    V_T7XSSPERSUBTYP and V_T591A are used for use cases
    Please read the f1 for the field
    Time contraint 1 infotypes usually cannot be deleted

    Check the table V_T582A and see the time constraint class associated with the infotype for example IT 0002 for Personal Data.
