  • Enterprise Service Operation missing in VC 7.01

    Hi all,
I have created a Enterprise service with two operations. When I test the enterprise service in the SOA Manager I see both operations in the webservice. When I use the same WSDL file in a systeem in VC I just get one operation.
Can someone tell me what the problem is?
    Kind Regards,
    Richard

    Hi Radi
    Thanks for your post.
Type "run programs made for previous versions of windows" in start menu search, if it gives any result as "Run programs made for previous versions of Windows" then you are able to run that application in compatibility mode through that.
Hope this helps you. If the problem continues please mention for which file types you are trying.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Description of enterprise service message types

    Hello people,
I'd like to know where to find the description of the parameters of enterpise service operations. For example the operation "Create Invoice" (Process Component: SRM) needs a lot of input parameters. I took a look into the Integration Builder from the ESR, but there was no description for the different message types.
The problem is: For example I wonder what is the difference between seller party and vendor party or what BillToID means. Without the knowledge of the meaning of the parameters I can't do an invocation.
If anybody could tell me where to find these information, this would help me very much.
BTW: Does anybody know a Test-SRM-Server that has an Invoice-ES that I could invoke?
    Thanks a lot,
    Michael

    Hello Michael,
have you checked out the ES Workplace yet?
    <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/esworkplace">https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/esworkplace</a>
You get the complete message structure with all parameters for "Create Invoice" and all other enterprise services from there.
Navigation path is <i>Enterprise Services by Process Components -> Customer Invoice Processing</i> (under SRM) -> Enterprise Service Operation <i>Create Invoice -> detailed field description</i>.
For an SRM testing system, please check
    <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/explore-es">https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/explore-es</a><i>-> Test-Drive</i> (on top of page) <i>-> HU5</i> .

    Hope this helps.

  • PI Szenarion with an existing Enterprise Service

    Hello,
i will design and configure an szenario with using PI 7.1 and an Discovery System. For this i will use an existing Enterprise Service. These Service is deployed on the Discovery System.
    Service:
    Read Purchase Order
    Enterprise Service Operation
How can i realize this? Exists for this szenario or an other one an How-To-Guide?
    Best regards
    Maik

    Maik,
From SAP ES work place find out in which Service Pakc of ECC this service is available. Search for that pack in SAP Service Market place and download the archive. Import this in to PI. Once you see the software component in XI, check if the discovery ECC has this enhancement installed already. If not you have to get that installed. Then goto SPROXY transaction and see if the service you want to use is enabled. Now you can create your outbound interface, message type and data type in XI and configure the scenario.

  • Enterprise Services, Service Operations and Functional Business Component

    Hi,
in the Enterprise Service desing guide (see https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/40c05360-0501-0010-63bd-aedd415b6e05 ) the relations between Enterprise Services and Service Operations are covered.
I understand that one Enterprise Service consists of one or  more Service Operations. For Example General Ledger Processing ES offers seven Service Operations. (See Solution Composer)
Functional Business Components offer one or more Enterprise Services and several Service Operations. As mentioned in the Design Guide, an Enterprise Services is dedicated to a certain Functional Business Component. An Enterprise Service could use several Service Operations of  one ore more Functional Business Components.
When browsing the Solution Composer I couldn't discover any Enterprise Service that uses Service Operations of more than one Functional Component.
Here's my question: Does anyone know an Enterprise Service  described in the Solution Composer which uses Service Operations of several Functional Business Components? If there aren't any, why?
    Regards,
    Sebastian

    Sebastian,
I haven't looked through the entire set of preview services, but most of what I have seen is consistent with what you are describing. I think the short answer is the ESA preview system is really a pre-release of the intial ESR which itself is essentially an extension of XI's integration repository. These are basically the finer grained object and interface level services.
SAP should be releasing some significant content updates to this ESR after NW2004S goes GA later this year. More importantly the next edition of the ESR tied to the BPP release will greatly expand on the scope including containing the more complex service defintions and process models which cut across components that you are looking for.

  • Unable to test enterprise services in SAP SRM 7.0 EhP1

    Hi experts,
For my recent project, we have enabled "PI Independent Enterprise Services" business function in our SRM 7.01 EhP1 system. While to trying to test some of the enterprise services, we are facing some error. I am pasting the request message and the response that I got from the enterprise service InternalRequestSRMByElementsQueryResponse_in. While defining the end point, I have used basic authentication settings. Note that I am testing this ES with my own user id and password which is a valid on for the SRM system. Hi Gaurav,
Thanks for responding. Yes, all the backend config are in place since I am able to successfully run an equivalent RFC (BBP_PD_SC_GETLIST) and another RFC named BBP_PD_SC_GETDETAIL from SE37. The problem seems to be something very specific to the ES. May I request you to run this ES at your end (if possible) and let me know the result possibly with the input and output message similar to the one I pasted in the origincal question.
    Thanks in advance,

  • ESW: Question on the usage of "READ PURCHASE ORDER" service operation

    Hi everyone,
I plan to consume consume "READ PURCHASE ORDER" in my composite application. When I navigated to SAP Documentation on ES Workplace, I found out the following paragraph in the "Notes on SAP Implementation" section.
    Notes on SAP Implementation
    Prerequisites
You must implement the application component Purchase Orders (MM-PUR-PO) so that you can use the operation.
I am not clear about the prerequisite. How do I implement an application component?
Here are the details to this service operation from ES Workplace:
Software Component Version:       ESA ECC-SE 604
First released with:      ESA ECC-SE 600
    Release State:      released
    Technical Name:      PurchaseOrderByIDQueryResponse_In
    Namespace:      http://sap.com/xi/APPL/SE/Global
    Application Area:      MM-PUR
    Webservice Definition:      ECC_PURCHASEORDER002QR
    Direction:      inbound
    Mode:      synchronous
    Idempotency:      not applicable
    Change/Update Behavior:      not applicable
Could anyone please enlighten me on this issue?
    Thanks,
    Joon Meng

    Hi Michael,
    thanks for the quick reply.
Now I understand the situation better with your explanation. But how can I check whether the application component is configured, which transaction? And how I can configure the application component?
Are there any documentations or tutorials concerning this topic? I simply do not have the whole picture / process flow of the matter.
    Thanks in advance.

    Joon Meng

  • How to map business process and enterprise service?

Recently, I read some documents about ESA. I'm confusing about the relationship between business process and enterprise service. In other word, how to map the business process to enterprise service after the business process is analyzed? Is there any methodology/rule to define business process and wrap them into service in ESA?

    Hi Sherry,
I like to add some of my thoughts about that discussion. From my point of view ESA is much more than just another BPM or Enterprise BPM. ESA is adresses six key areas and I think all of them are really needed:
    - <b>People Productivity</b> as the word itself describes...it's about portals and productivity.
    - <b>Embedded Analytics</b> has to integrate transactional and analytical content.
    - <b>Service Composition</b> is used for model-driven service composition and services orchestration.
    - <b>Service Enablement</b> is about a Enterprise Services Repository filled with business meaningful Enterprise Services and service patterns for enabled objects. Excactly this is where SAP has years of experiences.
    - <b>Business Process Platform</b> is about service enablement of all application platform objects and engines. This is the place where "BPM" for core business processes resits.
    - <b>Life-Cycle Management</b> has to cover the deployment, configuration, operation and change management for ESA based processes.
Therefore the term "BPM" is located in serveral layers of an ESA approach. On the level of <u>Business Process Platform</u> BPM is providing the choreography for core business preocesses.
At <u>Service Enablement</u> BPM needs to compose out of granular services (I would say "atomic" services)
buiness meaningful services (here we have "molecular" services).
The third level where BPM could be used is <u>Service Composition</u> because exactly this is the place
where serveral Enterprise Services could be combined to a process representation.
To come back to the discussion:
    1. The question should be how to indentify business meaningful services which could represent single process steps. ATP check, Credit card check, ... could be examples. In theory this service could be out-tasked, defined more flexible etc. This means that processes needs to be evaluated for Enterprise Service candidates. Afterwards you can check against SAP's Enterprise Services Repository for already existing Enterprise Services. The evalution for enterprise services candidates will be supported by the metodology mentioned by Kaj and David.
    2. I think domains in this context should be motivated by business and/or functional areas. Depending on the granularity. For example Order Fulfilment Services, Master Data Services, Search Services... These kind of serices can be combined again to services such as "Search of Master Data" (Search Service + Read Master Data Service) etc. or can be used to generate UI to be used in a ESA application.
    Your thoughts?
    Very best regards
    Wulff

  • Enterprise Service Repository

    Hi,
I like to know the differences in between Enterprise Service Repository and Integration Repository (XI)?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kamaljeet Singh

    hi Kamaljeet,
ESR is a meta data repository, meaning that it stores data that describes other data. The meta data inside the ESR is then used by development tools, modeling tools, operational management tools, and by other services to help them do their jobs. The ESR has also been given the job of storing descriptions of business objects and models that show how services work together in process components.
Perhaps the best way to quickly understand the ESR is to list all the different types of metadata stored in in and quickly explain how that data is used.
Type of data and How it is used as follows:
Web Services Definition Language (WSDL) files These files describe the service interfaces of enterprise services and are used by development tools and during run-time to look up interface definitions.
Business Object Descriptions Business objects are used in modeling to show what structures exist in an application that are implementing services.
Process Component Models This data describes models that show how enterprise services work together to implement business processes. These models show how a service is used and what business objects implement the service.
It is important to remember that services are not implemented in the ESR. The ESR holds descriptions of services that are then implemented in applications that are separate from the repository.

from our ECC system to our PI 7.1 and did first tests.
I'm getting response to my requests from the ECC system.
But in the response, there are only the production order IDs for the requested work centre.
I suppose that the BAdI PORD_SE_PRODUCTIONORDERSWQR, mentioned in service description, has to be activated for the service in the ECC system, to get all the other optional production order elements, defined in the service response message type.
    Am I right?
Which steps in the ECC backend are neccessary to activate a BAdI for an enterprise service?

  • How to expose an ERP function as an enterprise service

    Hi there
I am searching for an enterprise service which can create a contract account for a business partner (in the FA/CA area). It seems no such a service operation is availalbe after exhaustive search in the ESWorkplace and ESR. (Please correct me if you know where to find it). As an alternative, I think it is probably the only way to create an ABAP (?) service by my own, which does the job, and then to publish it as a WS service.
Is there anyone who knows how to do it or can point me the documents about how to do that?   Thanks a lot.
    Best,
    Ji

    Hi,
I didn't search for service but if you want to expose existing functionality as webservice then first find which FM/BAPI etc working behind that business function.
Next step would be exposing that BAPI/FM as service which can be done using transaction SE80 (Web Service Creation Wizard).
If no BAPI/FM available then probably you need to write something to exploit current business transaction.
For tutotial please search SCN for keyword: "Web Service Creation Wizard".

  • Right Granularity of Enterprise Services in order to be used in User Interf

    Hello,
i would like to create an aplication based on roadmap component (webdynpro) that uses SAP enterprise services.
After every step i will issue errors if data is wrong.
For ES there are operations (ex. Check Sales Order Creation ). What is if this check deliver error, that fields are not filled althou the fiels are intentend to be entered in next steps.
    What does it mean:
Must i redisign my application so that it is sutable to service granularity?
If the customer say "no, the application is fine". Am i forced to implement the same checks in user interface although they will be executed via enterprise service after all steps are processed - not nice soluton.
Does it mean that enterprise service must have many small operations as check to check all my cases, or maybe big check operation must be in some way configurable to ignore some not relavant at current stage checks - a list of fields to check can be provided or ES can deliver all error messages and frontend can delete not relevant.
What is your expirence with Enterprise Services by using them in UI?
    thanks
    Best regards.
    Paul

    Hi Paul,
Probably I didn't understood your question correctly but if my understanding is correct then either by check you mean either you are validating user input or you are checking if operation is performed correctly?
In first case ES are not particularly helpful (however few ES available to validate data against valid data) and you must handle this on UI level.
In second case ES are designed in such way that they perform "whole" business operation which might contain vairous technical operation, this is required to ensure integrity of data. Usually all ES return log or fault message which contain useful information about error etc which can be handled on frontend side. this is again to give flexibility to application developer to propagate proper user friendly message or trigger error handling procedure.
Difference between business service is that every ES can be mapped to meaningful business activity or operation and this particular ES execute multiple technical services in single LUW to ensure transactional consistency.
Please let me know if my understanding is correct or above answer is helpful.
