Global HRMS Patch

Dear friends
I want to install global HRMS patch but having some difficulties. I am running ebs R 12.1.1 Linux Version.
Initially I managed to perform following steps
1. connect as sysdba ans start database
2. Set application environment: Moved to VIS/apps/apps_st/appl and tried to execute APPSVIS_<hostname>.env, but the permission
was denied. Then i set its mode to 777 from root and then executed it again from oracle user
$ ./APPSVIS_<hostname>.env
3. Then I navigated to VIS/apps/apps_st/appl/per/12.0.0/patch/115/driver and typed
adadmin or ./adadmin. But it gaives an error of "Command not found"
I would be grateful for your guidance to resolve this issue or if you can tell me any other way to install this patch
Regards
AS

This is not a global HRMS issue.
2. Set application environment: Moved to VIS/apps/apps_st/appl and tried to execute APPSVIS_<hostname>.env, but the permission
was denied. Then i set its mode to 777 from root and then executed it again from oracle user
$ ./APPSVIS_<hostname>.env
3. Then I navigated to VIS/apps/apps_st/appl/per/12.0.0/patch/115/driver and typed
adadmin or ./adadmin. But it gaives an error of "Command not found"Looks like you have not sourced the env file correctly.
What do you get when you issue "which adadmin" or "echo $AD_TOP"/"echo $APPL_TOP"?
Thanks,
Hussein

  • Balance Dimensions

    Hi,
We are impelmenting HRMS&Payroll Rel1.02. This is not UK or US install. It is a Global Install
    1. The Pay advice Report does not show up the Deductions. The Earnings and Total Pay comes up.
How do we get the Deductions on the Pay Advice
    2. How do you create a balance dimension which would accumulate the balances from the start of the payroll processing year and never reset it to zero?
To hold YTD,QTD,PTD balances we can run the create balance dimension program and define the dimension. But the balances would be reset to zero depending on the frequency specified when running the program. Our requirement is to create a dimension which will never reset the balance to zero. How do we achieve this?Your suggestions are most welcome.
Note: We have already applied global hrms patch and run zz legislation program for Pakistan.
    Regards
    Majid

I have completed all the prereq which includes
1- implementation of global hr patch.
    2- Run international hrms setup.
With out all these i couldn't be able to define a single element in global hrms.
My question was, how to stop oracle payroll to set the balance zero.
Because here in Pakistan, personal loans are sanctioned
for more than 1 year e.g.
A company provide me loan of 120000 and I have to pay it in 2 years of
    equal installment of 10000 Rs.
Now if payroll set the balance of installment to zero due to the balance dimension defined after
completion of an year, how it would be possible for payroll to deduct
installment amount in another month of next year when the balance has
already been set to zero by payroll...??
I hope you understand the scenario and reply soon.

  • How to include AME Approvals on HRMS Enter and Maintain

    Hi,
We're on 12.1.3 and have received a request to include approvals in the "Enter and Maintain" form of HRMS Manager responsibility. I've checked on the User Function "Combined Person & Assignment Form WF="GLB HRMS TSKFLW" and I can see the workflow name "WORKFLOW_NAME="GLOBAL HRMS PERSON TASKFLOW"
I've suggested to a consultant to create a copy of this workflow and customize it to include approvals. His response is that it's a taskflow, not a workflow, and therefore can't be customized. Is there a where to include approvals in Enter and Maintain form so that any changes to the employee details get approved?
    dula

    Hi Dula,
Do you want this approval to happen from PUI form. I dont think this this would be possible, at max you can send trigger alert(or any other notification) when there is any change on the personal record. However, if you self-service, whenever employee does any change on his record, you can configure AME, to send for approval.
    Thanks,

  • HRMS Employee's Absence (Leave) Accrual Days

    Hello,
I have implemented Oracle Global HRMS. I have created reports for leave balances and I need to show the current accrual for leave balances. The path for the leave value is:- On the People window, click on others, then select absence, Select Annual Leave for the type field then click on the Accruals button, then select the End of Plan tab, the leave balance value is stored in the PROJECT ENTITLEMENT field. I need to display that field on my report but Im unable to find it on the table which it is related to.
Can anyone please help me out with this as soon as possible...
    Thanking you in advance,
    Tasneem.

    Hi,
I was referring to the accrual bands button only. So if you cannot find any values under accrual bands button, then tell us what is the accrual formula your are using. Open the accrual formula to see from where it takes the entitlement value. If no value is found in accrual bands button, then the value should either be hard coded inside the formula (very unlikely) or it would have defined in user tables (Other Definitons > Table Values). From where it picks the entitlement value depends upon the type of accrual formula you use.
    Regards.

  • Smpatch update ALERT: Failed to install patch

I do not even know where to start. Since installing Solaris 10 0606 it
seems every time I try to patch the system I get failures of one type
or another. One problem today has to do with zones:
"To install the new instance of this package in all zones you must
first remove the existing instance of this package from the global
zone first (via pkgrm) and then install the new instance of this
    package in all zones."
If sun already knows a pkgrm must be run why can't the smpatch command
    just do it?
    Another problem seems to be
For patch 121018-03, required patch 120759-04 does not exist
If sun knows a patch is required which is not on the system just Getit
    and install it.
Also, what is up with having to reboot the box to install patches?
Why? Has this always been a required step? Do these reboots pertain only to kernel patches .etc?
I have seen other postings in this forum expressing unhappiness with
the patch system, some mentioning testing lab/group or certification
issues. I think smpatch should have an option to send smpatch results
back to sun for review. That way the Certification Group could have
real life situations to investigate. Or do they know the problems
already and just dont want to fix them? Just once I would love it if
smpatch came back with no failures and I was assured the system was
patched, up to date and secure.
    Regards

Enterprise users have strict policies on change management so dependent patches are not automatically installed when using "smpatch add". Neither are packages blithly uninstalled for zones if currently only existing in the global zone.
For your needs using "smpatch update" should analyse, download and install dependant patches in order for patches specified on the command line or for a global update. Note that that is with the exception of patches not matching the currently defined patch policy such as those needing a reboot. See the smpatch man page for information on policies.
Patches requiring reboots or being installed in single user mode are primarily for kernel and driver patches.
Your problems installing the Sun Studio 11 patches have been encountered previously in regards to globally installed packages (and are covered in this forum) and is due to a combination of bug ID's 6337009, 6214678 and 6374972 for the patching utilities of which the last is still open.
You will currently have to manually install the patches using patchadd with the "-G" flag whilst in the global zone to install them in the global zone only.

  • When a patch fails ...

    Hello.
I was just applying an HRMS patch when a worker failed on a job
Found the fix (another patch to apply to update a file)
When I tried to apply this new patch, the utility asks:
If you have partially applied a patch, you must continue with your
previous AutoPatch session until it completes successfuly.  -
If you try to re-apply a patch that you have only applied partially,
AutoPatch may apply the patch incorrectly.
Enter Yes to confirm that you wish to overwrite your previous
AutoPatch session and begin a new AutoPatch session.
Enter No to continue with your previous AutoPatch session. [No] : Yes
As you can see I entered YES to start a new patching session. Was this the wrong this to do?
The secondary patch updated the file, then I had to start a NEW patching session for the HRMS patch.
What was the better approach to take? Will the HRMS patch now fail, or not apply itself correctly?
How can you keep two patching sessions going at the same time?
    Thanks

As you can see I entered YES to start a new patching session. Was this the wrong this to do?
No, you did the right thing.
The secondary patch updated the file, then I had to start a NEW patching session for the HRMS patch.
    Correct.
What was the better approach to take? Will the HRMS patch now fail, or not apply itself correctly?
No, apply the patch again from the beginning after applying the pre-req. patch and it should not fail this time.
How can you keep two patching sessions going at the same time?

  • Patching and Zones

    1.     How to identify the patch as a Global patch or local patch?
The SUNW_PKG_ALLZONES flag in the pkginfo is applicable to individual packages inside a patch.
    2.     Is it sufficient to execute patchadd (without any parameters) on global zone?
Online Doc says the patchadd command on global zone propagates the patch installation on all local zones automatically)
    3.     Will there be any patches applicable to local zones? If yes do we need to install them individually on localzones?
The online doc says we need not to patch the local zones. That will be taken care by global zone patch installation. How far this is true?
    4.     There are some global zone patches require reboot, do we need to shutting down all the local zones gracefully before we do reboot container?
The patchadd command takes care of propagating the patch installation to all the local zones, so will reboot command implicitly shutdown machines gracefully?

First, these comments apply to native zones on Solaris 10 which is what I think you're asking about based on the nature of your questions. They do not apply to other kinds of zones (such as ipkg zones on Solaris 11 Express). I not sure about your first question so I wont try to answer it.
    2. In general, it is sufficient to apply the patches using patchadd in the global zone. The patching process will figure out what needs to be done in the non-global zones and will do it automatically. You can check this using "showrev -p" or "patchadd -p" in the zones to see what patches were applied to the zones and what patches were not.
    3. I can't answer give a definitive answer to this question. I can imagine a situation where packages are installed in a non-global zone which do not exist in the global zone. In that case, I don't know whether applying the patch in the global zone would work or not. If patching from the global zones fails in that case, you might have to apply the patch in the non-global zone. However, in general patching in the global zone works fine.
    4. The reboot command appears to shut the zones down gracefully but I'm not authoritative with respect to this point. I usually use shutdown to send notices to users in shutting down zones before rebooting the machine but if no notices are required I just reboot the global machine.
    Hope this is helpful.

The same command works fine on linux using putty.
Are We missing anything or the issue might be because of the windows platform.
    Please help us.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Priyank

    Hi,
We have compared the LDt with the one generated with UNIX.
We are completely missing the data definition of the object.
Also today we tried to download LDT's for concurent program and request group, and request group Ldt is successfully downloaded but for concurrent program again it downloaded only entity definition and then failed to download object's data definition.
    the commands used were:
    Request group:
    FNDLOAD apps/apps 0 Y DOWNLOAD %FND_TOP%/patch/115/import/afcpreqg.lct File_Name.ldt REQUEST_GROUP REQUEST_GROUP_NAME="Global HRMS Reports & Process" APPLICATION_SHORT_NAME="PER" UNIT_NAME='Concurrent Program Short Name'
    Concurrent Program:
    FNDLOAD apps/apps 0 Y DOWNLOAD %FND_TOP%/patch/115/import/afcpprog.lct File_Name.ldt PROGRAM CONCURRENT_PROGRAM_NAME='Concurrent Program Short Name' APPLICATION_SHORT_NAME='PER'
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Version is : 11.5.9
    db : 9i
how to check UAT Localization (HRMS) is installed in thes system or not??

    Hi,
you want to know UAE localization(HRMS) patch have been installed or not ?if yes then then execute below query.
    SELECT DECODE(legislation_code
    ,null,'Global'
    ,legislation_code) "LEGISLATION CODE"
    , DECODE(application_short_name
    , 'PER', 'Human Resources'
    , 'PAY', 'Payroll'
    , application_short_name) "APPLICATION NAME"
    , to_char(LAST_UPDATE_DATE, 'MM-DD-YYYY HH24:MI:SS') "DATE APPLIED"
    FROM hr_legislation_installations
    WHERE status = 'I'
    ORDER BY legislation_code
    regards

  • MASTER LEGISLATIVE HRGLOBAL PRE-REQ LIST doesn't have R12.HR_PF.B.1

    Hi Friends,
I am using R12.1.1 with HRMS Patch level : R12.HR_PF.B.1 (which is R12.HR_PF.B.delta1 i believe)
I would like to apply Singapore Legislation so when i look at the MASTER LEGISLATIVE HRGLOBAL PRE-REQ LIST (Latest Oracle HRMS Legislative Data Patch Available (HR Global / hrglobal) [ID 145837.1])
I couldn't see either R12.1.1 (or) R12.HR_PF.B.1 and i could see only the later versions (R12.1.2,R12.1.3,R12.HR_PF.B.delta2,R12.HR_PF.B.delta3,R12.HR_PF.B.delta4,R12.HR_PF.B.delta5)
so do this mean i don't need to apply any Pre-Req patches for my current release/HRMS level and I can proceed with Data Install and apply hrgobal.drv?
    Please confirm.
    Regards,
    DB

    DBHi,
yes, you are right. this is because R12.1.1 comes with the installation. And you can not apply any pre-req before installing R12.1.1
All the patches listed in the table for pre-req are for the RUP patches which you will apply later. For example before applying RUP3 for HR you will apply 12757980 as a pre-req for Singapore.
    Thanks
