Global mime objects used in templates

Hi all
How can I upload an image to some global mime repository and then use the image in a HTML-template?
Please help fellow sapians.....

are you taling about ITS HTML templates or? BW web templates?
which version of R/3 you are using?

MIME object/Image(JPG) not displayed in the WAD template

Hello all,
I uploaded a .JPG file to mime repository. I used that object my WAD template. When i excute the Temapate, image file is not displayed just showing X mark.
But i am able to open/see the file from the mime repository.
What could be the problem? please let me know.

Thanks for your reply. I have found the problem.
Imaage that i have kept in mime belongs to https protocol. BSP application with SSL, needs https to execute in the browser.
when i execute the template, by default WAD is using http protocol, so the image is not displaying, when i use https, the image is being displayed in the WAD output.

Mime Objects and non-static template

Hi All,
When I bring up a non-static web template, icons stored as mime objects are not initially displayed. When I do a drill down or any other operation these are then displayed.
I know that this is not an issue with static layouts.
Does anyone know how to force it so that these are displayed when the template is first called up?

Sorry Max,
I originally included this in this group, although it is a web template designed using the Web Application Design tool.
The template itself has had it's property set to non static. This is to overcome issues with the connection/resources remaining locked by the ICM.
The icons have been uploaded through se80. It's strange but on the initial callup of the template they don't appear. On each subsequent access, they do.

Your steps sound correct. I would add that you generally need the following:
1. publish the IAC, SYSTEM, and WEBGUI Internet Services (also from SE80)
2. make sure the Integrated ITS is working. Meaning you should activate the ITS in the profile parameter, this can be seen in transaction SITSPMON. Some services in transaction SICF also need to be activated, like the default_host/sap/public/bc/its
From your error message though it looks like the URL you have used is either incorrect or you have used the External Alias feature in SICF? The URL for the ITS is usually http://host:port/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/service. Second, the error is about a language resource file (.htrc), you have not specified if you created one or not. To create one in the language you are logged in with just go to SE80, open your Internet Service and double click on the "Topic xx". Don't forget to publish after creating and saving it.

Display icon using MIME Objects and BSP Tags on Pop up

HI all,
My requirement is to add the warning icon in my pop up along with the text..
I accomplished this using the warning message
DATA: lr_msg_service TYPE REF TO cl_bsp_wd_message_service, lr_msg_service ?= view_manager->get_message_service( ). lr_msg_service->add_message( iv_msg_type = 'W' iv_msg_id = '000' iv_msg_number = '007' ).
But i wish to know the other way to accomplish this using the Mime Objects..
Can any one pls lemme know how do i achieve this using the Mime Objects + BSP HTML Tag.

If it doesn't work with a custom theme then the theme makers didn't include that icon in its theme. You can contact the creators of those themes and inform them about that.
You can re-enable the sliding info bar at the top of the browser.
You can look at these prefs on the about:config page and reset them via the right-click context menu:<br />
Info bar at the top: privacy.popups.showBrowserMessage<br />
Status bar icon: browser.popups.showPopupBlocker<br />

Using mime objects in bps excel layouts

Does anyone know how to user mime objects in bps excel based layouts? I know you can insert 'pictures' but I don't see a link to the mime repository like you have in the web interface builder.

i have to change a logo in the mime objects for an internet service. how can i change so that it should have the same name as the previous one. and if i change the logo that has got different name then whether i will have to make corresponding changes in the templates also?.or name if the logo wont affect its display.
my main problem is replacing one logo with a new one.

Is it possible to display a date as (DD-MON-YYYY) in excel output using excel template in xml publisher where date should be displayed as date only not string.

I've tried to use hierarchy node variables, but it seems like you can't specify a attribute of the hierarchy such as level. So with the WBS hierarchy, if you create a hierarchy node variable, you specify the WBS value to select (If I understand this correctly). I wish I could instead specify "give me all the WBS nodes that happen to have the value of the level attribute greater or equal to 3. If I understand Juergens post, he is saying make security access so that only certain WBS levels can be returned in the query. I suppose we can try that, but that would then preclude getting the level 1 and 2 in the future if the authorization is global.

I tried to find some examples/samples on how to create CollectionModel for a table component but not successful.
Can you clarify the following ?
1. "CollectionModel" is referenced only by af:table attributes "value", "selectedRowKeys" and "selectionListener".
The rest of af:table attributes such as "rows", "fetchSize" used to reference the iterator binding in the binding container via the EL expression "#{bindings.VOIteratorBinding.xxx} .
What should I replace that EL expression with?
2. I heck out the bean method to create the CollectionModel as following, is it close to what you mean?

How to use a Template in reports as in Forms ?

Goal:
I need to use reuse a common code in all of my reports.
Current scenario:
I need to display Report title, database name and report REP file name in the header of each report. So if I change at one place it should be reflected at all he places I refer this code.
P.S. I have a table which stores report file name and title in report.
Questions:
1) Is there a way to know the REP file name in the report like we have in the form GET_FORM_PROPERTY ?
(Because once I know the rep file name I can search in my table to fetch the description, as I don't want
to hard-code the REP name anywhere in the code)
2) Getting the database name is not a problem, I can always query v$database or v$instance to get the db name.
2) Where can I put this code so that I can refer the same code in all the reports, like the way we do it in
the forms (by subclassing an object or object group from Template or a common form to individual form).

Thanks very much. Get_Report_name works.
But I have an additional problem:
The changes I make in the template, are not getting reflected in the report based on the template i.e. There is no more reference once I make a report based on the template unlike in forms where I can "keep the path" while subclassing any object from one form to another.
Is it the default bahaviour of using the template ? Or do I need to do something else ?

MIME object download by BSP with 'Save as' box

hello ,
i am trying to download a Excel file which is in MIME objects in my BSP application. From portal i want to download this with 'Save as' box . Currently excel file is opening and i have to save it manually on local drive.
can u suggest me any solution to open 'Save as ' dialogue box to download the MIME object on my local hard-disk drive by using BSP application.

The only issue seems to be with the filename being set to that of the php script. The contents of the file are correct. Have you had any luck with this issue?
