Global MRP Accross Time-zones

We are implementing a new Asia plant into our global ECC6.0 deployment.  Our company uses APO-DP but not SNP.  We release PIRs from DP to ECC and run MRP.  We use cross-plant planning so MRP must be sequenced where predecessor plant results drive other plants.  The new Asia plant must use data from MRP runs in the Americas and Europe.  Currently the plant MRP runs are sequential variants in a job that runs daily at 5:30 PM (US Eastern) which is 8:30 or 10:30 AM (Daylight savings) in our Asia plant.  The users do not want MRP runs during the workday.
Is there a best practice for global MRP execution and sequencing (i.e.. running only on weekends or other)?
Thank you,
KW

Hello KW
The best practice is to define a sequece of plants to be planned using the scope of planning (customizing transaction OM0E). Instead of using the plant as an input parameter on your MRP variant, you may use the scope of planning and all the plants will be planned on the desired sequence.
It is also a best practice to run MRP for a plant when there is no operational data being changed, that means, during the night or weekends. Generally, MRP is executed daily and a NEUPL execution is scheduled for the weekend, to ensure that all the materials will be planned at least once a week. However, the frequence of the MRP execution depends purely on your business needs.

  • Time Zone issues in Global Instance

    Hi,
Can someone give best practice in addressing issues in Global instance due to change in date & time.
    Say
    1) A user is in America and system time zone is GMT
    2) Order screen: sched ship date shown based on user preference as GMT-5hrs. Say it is 30-Jun-2008 7:30 pm
    3) However, in the back end the data is stored as 1-Jul-2008 12:30 AM
    4) This certainly seems to have an impact to standard date fields.
    5) This also seems to have impact on effectivity dates which don't have timestamp. Eg, pricelist effectivity end date = 30-Jun-2008. The pricelist becomes ineffective at 7 PM EST because of system time zone being GMT.
Any pointers to address such issues, would be of great help.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
below is an answer from Oracle on similar issue regarding timezones:
Oracle E-Business Suite version 11i10 or higher
1 Oracle RDBMS 9i or higher
2 The database must be configured to use the time zone file
'timezlrg.dat' rather than the 'timezone.dat' file
3 The database must be started in the standard corporate time zone
4 Profile 'Server Timezone' (SERVER_TIMEZONE_ID) must be set at the Site
level, and must be set to the same standard corporate time zone as the
    database
5 Profile 'Client Timezone' (CLIENT_TIMEZONE_ID) must be set at the user
    level
6 Profile 'Enable Timezone Conversions' (ENABLE_TIMEZONE_CONVERSIONS)
must be set to 'Yes' ('Y') at the Site level.
7 Profile 'Concurrent: Multiple Time Zones' (CONC_MULTI_TZ) should be
set to 'No' (N) at the Site level
8 Environment variable FORMS60_APPSLIBS must be set in the Forms tier
(this has always been a requirement for 11i)
9 Forms must be launched through the Personal Home Page or Navigate portlet

  • Why is Ical not converting the time zones on email invites?  This is a big problem where my work is global.

Why is my Ical not converting the time zones on email invites?  this has happend twice this week where someone has sent me an evite and it post improperly on the calendar.

My original post stated that I was having performance problems and the whole point of the post was to find out if there is a way of exporting the information out of Thunderbird and importing into a new profile. Nothing has changed. I was not looking for the standard methods of managing profiles, which are well documented on the web.
Thunderbird appears to make use of a number of sqlite databases. My post was to see if there is anyone on the forum with sufficient knowledge about the database structure/usage to show me how to get the information out and import it to new databases. It is my view that some database corruption has taken place that is causing my performance problems. So, I wanted to get the data out of the databases, edit it as necessary, and get it back into new databases. I was hoping that the Thunderbird developers, or a third party, had a tool to help me with that.
I suspect that the corruption has occurred due to hard disk errors or an unexpected shutdown at some point. I could be completely wrong, but as I have said, I have ruled out the obvious things. Having created a new "blank" profile I know that the performance problems are related to my existing profile. The new profile/Thunderbird performed without issues.
If you have the expertise to show me how to do that then I would welcome your help. If you can show me that I am wrong in my assumptions then I would be interested to hear your views.
So, nothing at all has changed. I previously logged a bug report on RSS feeds and I only raised the RSS issue as an example of why I think the obvious things are not applicable. Many users may have issues relating to anti-virus/firewall type problems but as I said in my original post, I am quite technical. The point of saying that was to make it clear that I am not a novice user. I also did quite a lot of searching via Google to see if I could find a solution before posting on this forum.
So, nothing at all has changed from my original post.

  • Calendar time zones droid2 global

Exported Outlook 2002 mountain standard time calendar to Gmail calendar, also mountain standard, but appointments come in as central time. Same on my device. How do I get appointments on Gmail desktop and device to show mountain standard?

I have provided instructions below on how to set your time zone to mountain standard time on your Motorola Droid 2:
From the home screen, select the applications tab (located at the bottom of the display).
    Select Settings.
    Select Date & time.
To use network provided date & time values select Automatic.
Enabled when a green check mark is present.
    Select Set date.
Adjust the date then select Set.
    Select Select time zone.
    Select the time zone.
    Select Set time.
Adjust the time then select Set.
If desired, select Use 24-hour format.
Enabled when a green check mark is present.
    Select Select date format.
    Select the date format.

  • I need to have two time zones on the same iCal appointment

I work accross four time zones, two of which do not observe Daylight Saving Time (DST). This means that when I'm booking my flights on iCal, it would be usefull to have two time zones in the same iCal appointment (Outlook, for instance, allows this). What I currently do is to choose one of the time zones as the iCal appointment and then I "translate" the other time to the one I'm using on iCal.
This is quite a challenge, though:
if I'm taking a flight from Luanda (WAT = GMT+1, no DST) to London (GMT with DST) I would like to book it on iCal exactly like it shows on the ticket , 21:00 (WAT) to 06:00 (GMT).
Using the "translated approach", from May to October, this means 21:00 (GMT) to 06:00 (GMT).
Using the same approach, from November to April it means from 20:00 (GMT) to 06:00 (GMT).
If I include Jo'burg (CAT = GMT+2, no DST) and Frankfurt (GMT+1 with DST), booking flights in your calendar becomes quite a challenge!
Does anyone know if this feature is planned for any future versions of iCal?

    Hi,
This is not possible in iCal. The nearest thing would be to create two events, one for take off and one for landing.
Also, this is a user to user forum. By posting here you are not guaranteed someone from Apple will read it. If you'd like Apple to know about your suggestion I reccommend you send them feedback.
    Best wishes

  • How to design EDW for source systems from different Time-Zones

How to design EDW for source systems from different Time-Zones?
Suppose IT landscape has a global BW in New York, and source systems in americas, europe and asia, then how the time-zones effect on time related things like delta selections on date or timestamp etc.

As you said BW is global in NY, your source system must be global too. People from various locations can connect to same source system and thus timestamps for delta is always maintained as 1 single time. We have same scenario in our project. Our R/3 system is used by users in US and Europe. So we run deltas twice in day to make sure we got deltas from both locations.
If scenarios was such that all locations connect to separate R/3 system, then obviously you have multiple queues. That is unique delta queue for each source system so deltas will be pulled as per data in respective queues.

  • ISE 1.3 - Multiple ADs and time zone

    Hi all,
I have a question regarding time zone settings, AD interaction and ISE PSN.
    Assuming the following deployment:
    - ISE distributed deployment with 3
    - Each PSN is joined to a AD at a specific site (example: one in USA, one in Europe, one in Asia)
If the DCs at each site have different clocks (same UTC time source, but different time zone) I'll probably run into issues, right?
    Because:
    First fact:
Set correct time and timezone. Kerberos needs to be within 5 mins of the DCs you use
     (Source: Cisco Live Breakout BRKSEC-2132)
    Second fact:
Also, it is important to have all the nodes in a single ISE deployment configured to the same
time zone. If you have ISE nodes located in different geographical locations or time zones, you should
use a global time zone such as UTC on all the ISE nodes.
     (Source: ISE 1.3 admin guide)
So the first recommendation is, that the ISE PSN has the same clock as the local DC - on the other hand the time zones in one distributed deployment should be the same on all nodes.
    What to do?
    Big thanks in advance!
    Johannes

Not yet - In my lab environment I'm not having a multi-tier CA (and I'm not very good when it comes to Microsoft Active-Directory stuff :) )
    Edit:
I did one very limited test in my testlab. In my testlab I'm having one DC and two ISE appliances.
Test1: I removed the AD join of the ISE appliances. The ISEs are configured for CET and I reconfigured the time zone of the DCs to UTC-7:00.
ISE and DC clocks are correct (synced against NTP), but the absolute time is different due to different time zones.
Then I joined the ISEs again - and it worked.
Test2: I removed the AD join of the ISE appliances. The ISEs are configured for CET and I configured an incorrect static time to the DCs (some weird time).
    ISE join won't work
Error Description: Clock skew detected with active directory server
    Support Details...
    Error Name: LW_ERROR_CLOCK_SKEW
    Error Code: 40087
Perfect - different time zones are obviously ok...

  • New TIME ZONE in UWC

hi, how to input a new Time Zone in UWC for global settings ?? let say i need to add in Asia/Singapore ??? Please advise on this

    hi,
wel, actually, you can't add any new timezones to uwc for the moment.
I believer there is already an rfe open to get this feature in one of the future versions.

  • Time zone ignored in iCal invites

Recently, maybe since the timezone update, iCal has not been processing the time zone of meeting invites that I receive from Exchange users in my company. It is ignoring the time zone, for example an East coast user sends me an invite for 7pm EST, but I receive the invite as 7pm PST.
I just noticed this problem today but it could have been since the time zone update. I'm a long time user of iCal / Mail, normally I don't have this time zone issue.

Issues like this have been tossed around for a relatively long time, and those beset by them often are prone to point fingers at just about anyone. Much of the evidence offered is incomplete, or even contradictory. I've tried to follow this issue and others like it for some time, and—though, like most others I have encountered, I remain somewhat dazed and confused—I have come to these basic conclusions:
    • the issue relates somehow to TZID, the global—but, not globally defined and therefore standardized—time zone identifier
    • the heart of the issue appears to reside with some of the many releases of Microsoft's Exchange Server software
It's relatively easy to point the finger at Microsoft, as the notifications which display this behavior seem to originate from domains which run an Exchange Server of one variety or another. But, it's not that simple. Some report that invitations issued inside work, but those same invitations sent outside do not. Some report that patching the Exchange Server corrects the issue, but it's unclear if a specific post-SP2 patch exists to address the issue. Some report that Outlook Web Access users are affected, but not Outlook users. This may simply be because OWA and Outlook users 'get' their time-stamps from different locations, which do not use the same time zone definitions.
I think that you're on the right track examining the source data, but I think that it's the data itself that is the problem—specifically the TZID value, or a combination of that value and other information in the file—that raises the issue.
I don't see much evidence that the problem lies with the current release of iCal, or is caused by the DST patches present in Mac OS X 10.4.6 through 10.4.9, the various security updates or the DST update released by Apple.
The future release of iCal under Mac OS X 10.5 will be CalDAV compliant, and the CalDAV participants are working diligently to prevent just such problems, by standardizing such values as TZID. Microsoft is late to that party, although is now participating as I understand it, suggesting once again that the root of this problem is likely one or more Microsoft products, including Exchange Server.
One challenge with correcting the problem is defining it, and another clearly is working through the many varied iterations of Entourage, Outlook, OWA, the Exchange Server product line, and being sure that applied changes to create problems for others, like an organization's Blackberry and Windows Mobile users.
It would seem incumbent upon an organization's information technology staff to isolate, identify and correct the issue, and not upon users. That might be a challenge to achieve, however, if the majority of users in an organization do not seem to be affected by the problem, no matter how prevalent the problem might be, and how incorrectly an Exchange Server might be operating, if indeed it is.
Further complicating this is the unfortunate change to DST rules which recently occurred, and the requirement to apply changes to Windows XP and earlier along Mac OS X and OS 9 computers, Palm devices, Windows Mobile devices, mobile handsets and the server components which support them. While that issue isn't at all a likely component of this problem, they unluckily have appeared in some organizations almost simultaneously, making a possible link somehow a foregone conclusion, thus only adding to the confusion.
Where the offset is just one hour, as contrasted with the twelve hours reported by one poster, the immediate and logical conclusion is to assume that it's a DST issue. It likely is not.

  • OIM 11g - Time zone Issue

    Hi,
We have a OIM 11g instance running at a central location. (PST). Our implementation is for a Global Company having offices at multiple locations ( Say Germany, US , India and Japan ). So, the users should be provisioned / terminated only on the local time zones.
All the servers are present in "PST".
    Any pointers are appreciated.
    Regards
    Vicky

    Hi Atul,
    Thanks for your response.
But how does running at three different timezones will help me.
Say, I have an user in Japan and an user in India. Both users termination date is tomorrow. (Received from PSFT, future dated termination).
So, when the job is run according to Japan's time zone, the user will be terminated and will be deprovisioned as expected.
Here comes the problem, because of the same date, the user in India who is supposed to be terminated on his last day ( day ending say 6 PM) will lose his access well before that.
Correct me if I am missing something.
    Regards
    Vicky

  • Java time zone parameter has no affect.

I am attempting to set the timezone on a single stack Java instance to match the time zone settings on our ERP EHP6 system. I set the parameter
-Dusertimezone=CST and GMT-5 using the configuration manager, save the change and restart the JAVA stack.  Each time I restart the system I get the attached error in the default trace log and when I check system info page the timezone still shows as GMT. What is the proper abbreviation to use for US Central Time Zone.
OS is Windows 2008 R2 with the timezone correctly set. The DB is Oracle 11.2.0.4 and SAP is netweaver 7.0 EHP1.
    Thank You in Advance
    Troy Sorbet
The error is listed in the attached file, sorry I can't get text to paste into the note.
This is the banner for the error message
"The specified time zone is not found in SchedulerTime config class"

See SAP KBA 1867012 for a list of valid values. That said the error is returned from the KM Scheduler service, meaning it isn't global. I assume your instance starts but only the KM Scheduler service doesn't start. If that's the case what is the SP level of your NW701 system? Applying SAP note 1675803 might solve your problem.

  • UWC + time zone + system time zone

    Hello,
I have messaging server 7 running on solaris 10 x86.
when I change my system time zone, the time stamp related to messages received and sent is getting changed, regardless of the time zone set in UWC (global setting).
Is it a correct behaviour or it should have considered the time zone set in the UWC?
Printable view of message in UWC, doesn't show the attachment information in that. is it a product limitation? or there is some configuration for that also.
I have tried on 3 different servers.
    Thanks,

  • Setting ipad calendar / time zones help?

    Hi,
We are new ipad users and are placing flight & hotel details in the ipad calendar for a once in a life time global 6 week trip.
The point of purchasing the ipad was so that we could contain the info in one device...the calendar appears to be the only spot for that (other than e mails).
I have been changing the time zone within the calendar days to suit the destination....and am very confused (not difficult!) about the results....
Is it okay to set the time zones in advance and while still in the UK or not?
    Thanks

When I create event on my iPhone only this iPhone and Outlook has correct time. By the way, creating the event I am checking if time zone is correct.
My local time zone is Moscow (which is gmt +3) at the moment. When created event on my iPhone is shown at correct time but if editing it shows Denver time. Same event synced to the other iPhone is one hour ahead and showing GMT+3 in description.
Hope it makes although it is very strange behavior.
