Global Package Check Switch and Package Attributes

Hi everyone,
I would like to know where can I display/change the Global Package Check Switch of a system in release ECC 6.0? I know it can be set to "Pure Package Concept" for example.
I've looked into the SAP on-line documentation and the system customizing (SPRO) but without luck. Can anyone guide me?
I am also looking for the Package attributes. In Package Builder (SE21) there is suppose to be a way to set a package to "Package Check as Server". I saw in the SAP on-line documentation that there is a "Attributes" tab but I cannot find it. Does someone know where I could find such attributes?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Regards,
Sylvain

Netweaver 7.0 EHP 1 Trial, same question: Paketprüfung als Server/Client checkboxes don't show up in package builder properties:
»ABAP Objects« (Keller/Köhler) S.69 Abb.2.13 shows checkboxes to turn on package checks / Paketprüfung als Server / Client, yet no obvious way to make these checkboxes appear.
This question has not been answered, don't know why it is »Assumed Answered«.

  • System Setting for Package Check

    Hi
How can the global 'package check' switch be activated or deactivated? Where is this customizing done? Is it possible to set the Package Check attribute specific to a package? How could this be done?
    Thanks
    Lakshmi

    Hi Karun
If I set visible elements thro' package interface or if I specify use access for a user package, this will have effect only if the Package check is activated. For eg., even if I have specified the Error Severity as error in Use access for a provider package, SLIN does not show me an error even if I have used the visible elements of this package. This would happen only if the package check setting is active. I am not sure where this could be done.
    Thanks

can u pls help me in this

Please enter SE16 and go to table PAKPARAM. In this table there is an entry for key field 'NAME' equals 'GLOBAL_SWITCH'; this entry controls the behaviour of the package check.
The 'VALUE' for this entry can be set to
'RESTRICTED' - to switch on the restriced package check (i.e. package check is effective where required by server and/or client package)
'R3ENTERPRISE' - to switch on the restricted package check including decoupling checks between structure packages (only possible starting from SAPKB62025 - attention, this setting requires exhaustive administration of package data for all packages involved!)
Please note that in this particular case, an additional entry has to be made in table PAKPARAM with key field 'NAME' equals 'SAP_DEV_SYSTEM' and 'VALUE' set to 'X'. (Otherwise, the package check will automatically be switched off.)
'OFF' - to switch off again the package check
Please don't change any other entries in table PAKPARAM.
Please note that upon switching on this check, the activation of DDIC objects with package check errors is impossible through SE11.
Note 648898 - Switching on the package check
    Hope it Helps

  • Importance of Global Consistency check

    Hello,
I have always checked my rpd for global consistency without knowing the actual meaning behind it. But last night I created a logical column with the following expression:
    max(VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION......))
basically i created an aggregation over a logical column that obtains its value from session variable. I know that if we need to use a column as an aggregation column we should use the aggregation tab in the column properties. When we choose an aggregation it disables the editable column formula field.
I put the above formula which violates the rule. The result is perfect so long as I don't check for global consistency. It throws an error that looks something like this:
[38083] The Attribute 'Acceptance Rate Target' defines a measure using an obsolete method.
The question is.. what is the significance of global consistency check.. and what is the consistency criteria.. and is it ok to save the rpd without checking for global consistency (yes this does not cause the BI server to crash when trying to start)
    Thanks

First, forget about the variable approach.
Now you need to do the following steps:
    1) Import the table to the physical layer
    2) Create logical table in existing Business Model in BMM layer with the imported table as logical table source
    3) Create another logical table in existing Business Model in BMM layer with the imported table as logical table source
    4) Create complex join between both table, now you will get one logical dimension table and one logical fact table
    5) In the logical fact table you need to select the column ("Target") and add an aggregation rule, like MAX or MIN
    6) Assuming you have a hierarchy for every dimension in your BMM layer, you need to set the logical levels of the new measure to the Grand Total Level of each dimension hierarchy.
By doing this, you get a "level based measure", for more info: read this:
    http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2007/12/03/oracle-bi-ee-101332-level-based-measures-lbms/
By setting all logical levels to the grand total level, the measure will be "immune" for all dimensions used in your report.
So when you have a report like
    Month__Actual___Target
The BI Server will create two queries:
    select month, sum(sales) from calendar, sales_table where calendar.id = sales_table.calendar_id
    and
    select max(value) from target_table
The BI Server will then stitch both results together.

    Stijn

Please explain why I have not received my $200 iPhone 6 Trade In Promo   Gift card. I sent it to Trade In Center in packaging sent to me by Verizon on November 26, 2014. I have called the Trade In Support team 877-835-2024 to check status and receive a different response each time I call. 1)it was received and it takes weeks/months to perform analysis on the device 2) you sent it to the wrong address 3) just wait 4) i will 'expedite' your issue. I've asked to speak with supervisors and the CSR will not let me speak with anyone confirming 'you will just be told the same thing I am telling you'. Well - nothing ever comes of it. Please assist. I have been a Verizon customer for years and am frustrated with the lack of customer care. Like many others I am ready to switch carriers.

I wanted to add my voice to the growing chorus of people complaining about VZW's trade in program. i received the exact same excuse for denying the full value of my perfectly good and DEACTIVATED iphone 4s.
i DID manage to get through to the trade in team, and after explaining the situation, i was told that my problem could be escalated the the tech team. the anonymous trade-in woman transfers me to the normal VZW cust support line... huh?
i wait again and finally get through. unlike the trade-in woman, the cust support rep immediately identifies himself. willie was as helpful as he was allowed to be, but sadly, that wasn't very much. the trade in people and VZW hold all of the cards.
THEY say that the de-activation lock wasn't turned off, i say it was.
there is no way to prove either assertion.
    there is no appeal.
they just deny, deny, deny, as evidenced by all of the other complaints posted here and elsewhere.
willie WAS able however, to get me an additional credit for my 'inconvenience'.
while i genuinely appreciate his effort on my behalf, it doesn't absolve the company from the way they handle the trade-in program, whether it's farmed out to a 3rd party or not.
i will be filing complaints with the PSC, BBB, and NYS Att'y General.

  • Dbms_redefinition package and COMPRESS attribute of the target table

    Hi experts,
we have an already partitioned and compressed table under Oracle 10g R2 wich we want to move to another tablespace using online redefinition.
The table should keep the Partitions and compressed data after the move.
My question is: How much storage we must have in place for the move of the table ?
    Example:
tab (compressed size) : 1000 MB
tab (uncompressed size) : 4000 MB
Seems it depends on how redefinition handles the move of the compressed data.
So if redefinition uses INSERT /* APPEND */ .... is should be roundabout 1000 MB ("compress during write")
    Is this assumption correct ?
Can anybody shed some light on redefinition wich kind of compression-conserving stragetgy it uses ?
    bye
    BB

    From the 11.2 admin guide:
Create an empty interim table (in the same schema as the table to be redefined) with all of the desired logical and physical attributes. If columns are to be dropped, do not include them in the definition of the interim table. If a column is to be added, then add the column definition to the interim table. If a column is to be modified, create it in the interim table with the properties that you want. The table being redefined remains available for queries and DML during the entire process.
Execute the FINISH_REDEF_TABLE procedure to complete the redefinition of the table. During this procedure, the original table is locked in exclusive mode for a very short time, independent of the amount of data in the original table. However, FINISH_REDEF_TABLE will wait for all pending DML to commit before completing the redefinition.>
If you did not want to create an interim table, then this approach is not going to work for you. There is no requirement for you to create anything other than the interim table, and any dependent objects can be done automatically, including materialized views. Where did you see that you have to create mview logs?

  • Backpac: A package state snapshot and restore tool for Arch Linux

    backpac:
A package state snapshot and restore tool for Arch Linux with config file save/restore support.
    https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=52957
https://github.com/altercation/backpac (see readme on the github repository for more information)
    Summary & Features
It's a common method of setting up a single system: take some notes about what packages you've installed, what files you've modified.
Backpac creates those notes for you and helps back up important configuration files. Specifically, backpac does the following:
maintains a list of installed groups (based on 80% of group packages being installed)
maintains a list of packages (including official and aur packages, listed separately)
maintains a list of files (manually created)
backs up key config files as detailed in the files list you create
The package, group and files lists along with the snapshot config files allows system state to be easily committed to version control such as git.
Backpac can also use these lists to install packages and files. Essentially, then, backpac takes a snapshot of your system and can recreate that state from the files and lists it archives.
    Use Cases
Ongoing system state backup to github
Quick install of new system from existing backpac config
Conform current system to given state in backpac config
Backpac is a very, very lightweight way of saving and restoring system state.
It's not intended for rolling out and maintaining multiple similar systems, it's designed to assist individual users in the maintainance of their own Arch Linux box.
    Status
Alpha, release for testing among those interested. Passing all tests right now but will continue to rework and refine. Bug reports needed.
    Why?
There are a lot of 'big-iron' solutions to maintaining, backing up and restoring system state. Setting these up for a single system or a handful of personal systems has always seemed like overkill.
There are also some existing pacman list making utilities around, but most of them seem to list either all packages or don't separate the official and aur packages the way I wanted. Some detect group install state, some don't. I wanted all these features in backpac.
Finally, whatever tool I use, I'd like it to be simple (c.f. the Arch Way). Lists that are produced should be human readable, human maintainable and not different from what I'm using in non-automated form. Backpac fulfills these requirements.
Regarding files, I wanted to be able to backup arbitrary system files to a git repository. Tools like etckeeper are interesting but non /etc files in that case aren't backed up (without some link trickery) and there isn't any automatic integration with pacman, so there is no current advantage to using a tool like that. I also like making an explicit list of files to snapshot.
    Sample Output
This is the command line report. Additionally, backpac saves this information to the backpac groups, packages and files lists and the files snapshot directory.
    $ backpac -Qf
    backpac

firecat53 wrote:I think your plan for handling an AUR_HELPER is good. If AUR_HELPER is defined by the user, then either you might need a list of major AUR helpers and their command line switches so you can pick the correct switch for what needs to be done (most use some variation of -S for installing, but not all), or have the user define the correct switch(es) somehow for their chosen AUR helper.
That's a good idea. I'll add that to my AUR refactoring todo.
I also found directory tracking to be a weakness in other dotfile managers that I tried. I think you would definitely have to recursively list out the contents of a tracked directory and deal with each file individually. Wildcard support would be nice...I just haven't personally found a use case for it yet.
I've been thinking that I could just add the directory and scan through it for any non-default attribute files. If those are found then they get automatically added to the files list. That's pretty close to what etckeeper does.
Edit: I just compiled the dev version and removed my comments for already fixed things...sorry!
The master branch should have those fixes as well, but I didn't update the version number in the package build. I'll have to do that.
    1. Still apparently didn't handle the escaped space for this item: (the file does exist on my system)
Ok, good to know. This wildcard directory business will require some new code and refactoring so I'll also rework my filenames handling.
    2. Suggestion: you should make that awesome README into a man page!
I was working on one (the pkgbuild has a commented out line for the man page) but I had to leave it for later. Definitely want a man page. Once this stabilizes and I'm sure there aren't any big structural changes, I'll convert it to man format.
    3. Suggestion: add the word 'dotfile' into your description somewhere on this page, the github page, and in the package description so people looking for dotfile managers will find it. You could also consider modularizing the script into a dotfile manager and the package manager, so people on other distros could take advantage of your dotfile management scheme.
I actually have a different script for dotfile management that doesn't touch packages, but there is definitely overlap with this one. That script isn't released yet, though, and if people find this useful for dotfile management that's great. I'll add that in.
    4. Suggestion: since -Q is a read-only operation, why not just make it run with -f automatically to avoid the prompt?
Originally, running backpac without any command line options produced the Query output. I was concerned that since it is a utility that can potentially overwrite system files, it is important to give users a clear statement prior to execution about what will be done. Since the Query output is essentially the same as the Update and System reports in format and content, I wanted to be explicit about the Query being a passive no-change operation. The current command line options aren't set in stone though. If you feel strongly about it being different, let me know.
Long answer to a short question
    5. Another suggestion: any thought to providing some sort of 'scrub' function to remove private information from the stored files if desired? This would be cool for publishing public dotfiles to github. Perhaps a credentials file (I did this with python for my own configs). Probably detecting email addresses and passwords without a scrub file would be rather difficult because dotfiles come in so many flavors.
Yes, absolutely. In fact, if you look at the lib/local file (pretty sure it's in both master and dev branches in this state) you'll see some references to a sanitize function. The idea there is that the user will list out bash associative arrays like this:
    SANITIZE_WPA_=(
    [FILE]='/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf'
    [CMD]='sed s/expungepattern/sanitizedoutput/g'
Question: am I missing an obvious option to remove a file from the files.d directory if I delete it from the files list? Or do I have to delete it manually? It might be helpful to add a section to the README on how to update and delete dotfiles from being tracked, and also a more detailed description of what the -b option does (and what is actually created when it's not used).
You are only missing the function I didn't finish. There should be either dummy code or a TODO in the backpac main script referencing garbage collection, which isn't difficult but I just haven't finished it. The idea being another loop of "hey I found these old files in your files.d, mind if I delete them?" It's on my list and I'll try to get it in asap.
And finally, just out of curiosity, why did you choose to actually copy the files instead of symlink like so many other dotfile managers do?
git not following symlinks, hardlinks also out for permissions issues (git wouldn't be able to read the files, change them, etc.)
I definitely would prefer to not make an entire copy of the file, but I haven't come up with a better option. Shout with ideas, though. Also, if there is a way around the link issues I noted above, let me know. I don't see one but that doesn't mean it's not there.
edit: I think a Seattle area Arch meetup would be cool! Perhaps coffee someplace? Bellevue? U-district? Anyone else? BYOPOL (bring your own pimped out laptop)
A general meetup sounds good. I was also thinking it would be fun to do a mini archcon with some demos.

Hi, I've encountered a similar error as well; however from note: 648898, it appears that my system is set to global check = 'OFF'.
Does someone know if this is the setting to perform a package check and what that actually means?
    thanks!

  • Need help about classpath and packages

    I am new to jAVA and trying to learn packages.I wrote a java programme called AccountBalance.java with package MyPack;
    I set the classpath as C:\java programs\MyPack.
My java program was compile fine BUT classes were not creating in MyPack folder.
Cananyone suggest how java programs create the classes in ClassPath specified folder automatically.
    Thanks

Here you want to create your class file in a separate package.
Actually the creation of class will happen at the time of compilation.
So you have to take care about it at the time of compilation.
try this one to compile your source file:
    javac <java source file name> -d <targetplace>
the java source file name is your source file name and -d is switch that is used to create the package(directory) and the target place is the location where you want to create your package. if you want to create your package in the current directory then you can simply give
    javac <java source file name> -d .
try this one all the best. if it's not working then reply me so that i can check myself and try to find another solution for that.
    thank you
    bye

  • Interface Package CHECK

    I expose my problem.
I create a specifical hierarchical structure package on CRM7 for test Interface Package Check.
This is a representation of my hierarchical structure package :
                                                                P1 (Structural Package)
P1_1 (main package)                  P1_2 (main package)

(I1 interface package with                         (use I1)
            Data element E1)                                       Use E1 and E2 in a Structure S1
         Define Data element E1 et E2                       Use E1 and E2 in a program Prg1
When I activate my structure S1 I have the error of use E2. It's OK.
When I use extended check code with program Prg1 I haven't error on use E2.
When I use a standard element  in my program and I use extended check code I have an error on use the standard element when I don't add the package interface where standard element is declared.
Have you any idea which explain the difference on check with my specific data element and with standard data element ?
    Thanks for your response.

    Hi,
first of all, you have to check if th ystem-wide package check is switched on. Check in transaction SM30, maintenance view PAKPARAM_V. GLOBAL_SWITCH must be equal to 'R3ENTERPRISE'.
I don't understand the behaviour you describe. The package error must be reported either for both development objects in the consumer package or not at all.
    Regards,
    Stefan

Found some info about table PAKPARAM in the mentioned OSS note, however I couldn't find any info about PAKCHEKTYP and all of the PAK* tables.
It seems checks are performed via PA_SLIN_PACKAGE_CHECK.
Any info or detail is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Peter

    Hi Fabrizio,
    1. This is a normal
       'authorisation not there'
      issue.
    2. Contact your basis team
       and they will help out
       by assigning the values
       for the particular auth object
       for the required profile
       for the particular user !
