Global/Role wise Portal Favourites

Hi,
Is it possible to set up the Portal favourites in such a way that the administrator can set some favourites which should appear in the Portal Favourites iview of all the users?
Also is it possible to configure it in such a way that only users assigned to a particular role gets to see particular global favourites in their portal favourites?

Thanks a lot for the idea.
But if I implement it, the end users will not be able to add any personal favorites. I am looking for something which provides both these (global and personal favourites) functionalities. I guess I will have custom develop some component to achieve this.

I have Portal roles in two languages English and German. I set the browser language to check the translations. Initially the browser language is English. When we add the role to Portal Favourites and then change the browser language to German, the text in the Roles is changed but the text in the Portal Favourites iview still remains in English. Can anyone tell me how to translate the content of Portal Favourites iview?

Hi,
You can upload an Image or an HTML file in the KM Repository and then create an iview pointing to that file. Assign that to a role and and make the entry point YES.
Assign that role to user.
Whenever that user logs in the image will be displayed.

Change the name from Portal Favorites to Portal Favourites

Hi,
There is a requirement that where ever in Portal, the name of Portal Favorites should be changed to Portal Favourites.
So when I add something to Portal Favorites in Portal, then there we get Organize Entries in the context menu and opening this it will open a pop-up having name as Favorites.
I searched and come to know that this is coming from a folder under KM Content /userhome/<portal-userid>/Favorites.
If I changes the name Favorites to Favourites then it reflects to that corresponding id, but changing from here for every portal-userid will be very difficult.
Can someone tell how we can change on global basis for every portal user.

Hi there,
The iView called "Favorites" in Content Provided by SAP > End User Content > Standard Portal Users > iViews > com.sap.km.iviews points to a KM folder which you can find in Content Administration > KM Content > root > Entry Points > Favorites. You can change the name of this folder: with Entry Points > Favorites selected choose Folder > Details and then Settings > Properties, set the name to whatever you like and click Save.
Now this isn't 100% effective but if a user accesses the Organize Entries command from the Favorites context menu, they will now see your custom folder name. A preview of the iView will show the same.
What this doesn't do is change the name of the Entry Point, so a user looking under Documents will still see the heading "Favorites". According to SAP Help this can be changed by creating a custom bundle file, but despite following the steps detailed in [Changing Labels and Symbols for Entry Points|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/36/8b6b4066d9bf49e10000000a1550b0/content.htm] I have not had success with this.

Portal favourites for all users to be same

hi all,
we have implemented ESS over portal and i have added some links to portal favourites.
they are appearing fine in my portal favourites section.
Now the requirement is that i want all users to see the same links when they logon by their respective ids.
but this is not happening. those links are in portal favourites for my id only.
Kindly let me what to do.
the way I added those links was to just click over the link in ESS workset and from the page title bar, selected the option, add to portal favourite.

Hi Ankur,
I guess you want one person to manage favorites for all the users of Portal. In such a case you can achieve this without any development work using KM. Just follow the below steps:
1. Create a folder in KM inside documents folder (Content Admin > KM content > documents), say Favorites.
2. Create links (external/Internal) inside the folder.
3. Create a KM navigation I view by name Favorites and edit the property Path to Initially Displayed Folder = /documents/favorites (your folder path in KM)
4. Add this I view to your homepage and page to the subsequent role
5. Assign the role to the user.
It works like custom favorites for all users using which you can centrally control user favorites just by adding or removing links in the KM favorites folder.

Global Roles

Hi Experts,
I am currently facing an issue where I am unable to see any roles when I "Browse Global Scoped Roles" under "Search for Roles Entitled to this Resource
". I have defined all the global roles under "Home >Summary of Security Realms >myrealm >Realm Roles" on the weblogic server 10.3.0.0.
Even the default roles defined under Visitor Roles
- Visitor Entitlement RoleAnonymousVisitor
- Visitor Entitlement RoleAuthenticatedVisitor
are missing in this environment.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

Just to add, I tried to look into the table P13N_ENTITLEMENT_ROLE and could see that all the roles defined are already present. I tried to create a new role and this role is being added to this table.
But I am not able to view any of these roles on the portal.

Deleting details from Portal Favourites

Hi Experts,
We're using EP to publish reports from BI. We have saved reports loaded in EP which is shown in Portal favourites in left side. We wanted to know how to delete those details. Also, guide me I want to list few details in favourites, how to do it.

For the question-1:
1. You should download the sap.portal.navigation.masthead.par.bak from the Portal Server.
2. Import PAR to your NWDS .
3. Now you can find the JSP pages where you can remove the log-off links, can disable (commenting) the banner images, etc.
4. After changing these stuff, upload the Par (without .bak) to portal.
5. Now refresh/relogin to portal , you should see the changes.
NOTE: Make sure you have the original masthead.PAR as a copy. If you want the original back then upload the original par back to Portal.
Also refere - Portal Branding - Go beyond portal themes
For question-2:
1) you need to create specific ROLES and assign those worksets/roles.
2) then create a GROUP assign those roles you want to
3) then assign the user to the groups
This is the standard way to do that.

Problem while opening the BI reports in Portal Favourites

Hi All,
While trying to add a BI report in Portal Favourites, I am able to add the reports in portal favourites but when I click the reports(inside Portal Favourites) to open it , it will not open the reports but opens the very first page of the portal which we get after login to portal.
Please tell me how can I open the respective reports which I added in portal favourites.

Doesnt seem to appear as a portal issue neither it is a reader issue. Might be some issues with the network which isnt allowing the entire file to get downloaded and hence causing the browser to hang.

How to retrieve Global Roles in a the current security realm?

Is there a WLS API available that obtains a list of mapped global roles (defined in a security realm) from an application?
I want to be able to do a getRoles call against an authenticated user. So far, I'm only able to use isUserInRole. What I need is a list of all global roles mapped to a user's group.

Error while accesing requisition from recruiter role in portal

Dear Experts ,
When we are trying to access *requisition in recruiter role in portal it is showing you are not authorized to perform this applcation. Can you pleae suggest me what will be the problem.
For clarity we are having EHP4 , and the portal nw7.1 , we have assigned SAP _ALL to the user we are testing and in portal we had assigned super admin , recruiter , recrutiment administrator.

You assign Roles to Users and not to portals.

So a role has contents that a user can see and also privilages that the user can have (UME Actions).

When a user is assigned certain roles which have contents and also UME Actions, this user sees them when he logs on onto the portal and also has this set of privilages.

Runtime error in Business planning role on portal EP7.0

Hi all,
We are using the BI integrtaed planning role from portal.( Ep 7.0) and backend system is BI7.0.
1)I added the role com.sap.ip.bi.business_planning_showcase to the user
2) I created the JCO connections
BI_MODELDATA
● BI_METADATA
● WD_ALV_MODELDATA_DEST
● WD_ALV_METADATA_DEST
3)In spro of BI7.0 settings for starting planning modeler I gave the url of the portal.
Now when open the BI planning role it is throwing the error
com.sapportals.portal.prt.runtime.PortalRuntimeException: Failed in WD JNDI lookup. javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: No child found in WebDynproContext with name biplanstartpage .
Any suggestions please.

If you are using Ep 6.0 Sp 15 then you have to deploy the BIKIT for Sp 13 on the portal using SDM.
This will solve Your problem.

I have portal 6.0. How can i see the ABAP roles in portal. I know there is some backend system need to configured. please write step by step. I can create users in portal which is replicated in ABAP.

Configure global roles in weblogic express

Weblogic Express 8.1 sp2 does not allow you to configure global roles using the
Admin console.
I know this is the expected functionality. How do you configure these global
roles without the use of the Admin Console.

As far as i know you could never create roles via WLST offline, only via WLST online.

I see following roles in Portal ( GP Administrator, GP User, GP Superuser, GP Business Expert etc).
