Global signature help

I have 3 different ones set up. I'm working with Novell as far as
getting any changes to affect *all* emails without doing post office
rebuild, but I have another issue I'd like to see about getting some
help.
I can't seem to get these signatures to 'act the same' on emails. I've
had complaints about too many spaces, etc between the email and
signature, so I'm trying to resolve this.
If I take all the blank lines out of the top of the signatures,
sometimes they will continue the last line of the email if the user did
not hit <enter> at the end of their email.
Also, the signatures have one blank line at the end of them, but on
some emails they add 2 or 3 blank lines after the signature.
I created & edit these in ConsoleOne as we're running GW2012sp2 (from
March 2013). Clients are mainly win7 64bit at the same patch level.
What gives? What can I do to get these to look the same on all emails?
Stevo

Hi Stevo,
Several years ago I had issues with signatures not looking right - similar to what you are experiencing. It was also very sporadic. It was specifically the HTML signature, the text one seemed to work fine.
After logging an SR with Novell we discovered that it was corruption in my ConsoleOne snapins. I redid the snapins, deleted and recreated the signatures and have never had a problem since. Admittedly we only apply global signatures to external mail.
It probably won't hurt to recopy your GroupWise snapins back to your management PC/Server where you are running ConsoleOne.
This is just my experience with signatures not applying correctly and might not apply to you.
Cheers,

  • Global signature can't be overridden

We've implemented global signatures, but some people need to be exempt
from having them appended. However, setting the user to have "None"
doesn't work - the signature gets tacked on anyway. According to the
documentation, this is not as designed. Does anyone know how to make it
    work properly?

  • Global signature for HTML email

GW7.0.3 on NW 6.5--global signature appends for plain text email, but does
not append on HTML outbound email. Signature is defined for both formats in

  • 2012 Global Signature

I know this question has been asked before, but management want me to query if we are missing any changes in the newer versions
This issue is with what management calls signature stacking at the end of the email thread.
Is there a switch in 2012 or 2014 to not apply Global signature upon a reply to an email?
I understand that the composer in 2014 is changed to show the signature, can it be deleted at this time?
    Thanks
    Dan

    Hi Dan,
There is no switch that I am aware of that will solve the problem as you describe it.

  • Global Signature

    Hi,
We have GW 8.01 on Netware OES.
We want to be able to set up Global Signatures so that they appear
both internally and externally. This works well from the Windows
client. I have also set Global Signature on the GWIA and it works on
external mail but does not work on internal.
Is there a way to get a global signature to work from web access to
    our internal users?

  • Global Signature question

I am in the process of applying a global signature. While, I know that I can apply it to the PO, I would rather apply it on the user level. Is there a way to set multiple users Client Options to use the sig rather than opening each user and changing their options individually?

Oops. Posted in the wrong category. I don't need GWIA assistance :)

  • Digital Signatures Help Requested

I looked through the forums and there was one thread not too long ago that talked about digital signatures but didn't seem to focus on this particular problem, so I figured I'd start a new one hoping someone would have some advice.
We receive a document that is digitally signed by our client. We view the PDF in the full version of Acrobat and have added these users as Trusted Users (in managed trusted identities).
We Verify the Signatures that were added to the document and see the digital signatures at the bottom of the document but there's one thing that's not showing up and that's the actual "signature" or "signed signature" of the person. We only see a typed out version of their name.
We've spoken to our client and they maintain that we should be viewing the "signed signature" and we need to figure it out.
When I check the Signature Properties, it tells me that their signatures were created using "Entrust.PPKEF". Could this be the problem?
As much as I'm reading up on Digital Signatures, it's my belief that we don't need to purchase any other software in order to view these properly. Am I mistaken.
Any help would sure be appreciated.
    Paul

    Hi Paul,
Are you expecting a "wet ink" type of signature? That is, an image in the signature field that is a copy of a signature someone created with pen and paper? If that's what you really need then maybe a digital signature workflow is not what you should require from your client. However, in many respects a digital signature (at least in the electronic world) is a much more powerful tool then a wet ink facsimile.
In this day and age, anyone could grab an image of a wet ink signature, crop it and use it apply it to a document as if they were the original signer. In others words, in the electronic world a wet ink signature is not very secure. However, a digital signature cryptographically binds the signer to the document. As long as the digital ID used to create the digital signature comes from a trusted third party (i.e. a certificate authority that vettes the identity of the individual before they issue the digital ID) then you are get two things from the digital signature. One is document integrity (you will know if the document has been altered post signing), and the other is non-repudiation (the signer cannot deny that they were the person that applied the digital signature). If you are accepting digital IDs (it's the "manage trusted identities" thing you mentioned) issued by a certificate authority that does not vette the identity of the signer then you have to be a bit more leery of trusting the signer.
I don't know if the Entrust signature method has the ability to add a custome appearance that includes the wet ink facsimile, but if it does, your client could create a digital signature whose appearance looks like a wet ink signature. However, the bottom line is the lack of a wet ink  facsimile is not a cause of concern when it comes to digital signatures  in PDF files.

  • Digital signature help

I have a created a PDF in Acrobat 8.0 that requires multiple digital signatures. I am emailing the file to the people and asking for their digital signature.  When I try to save the file with Person1's signature to a file with Person's2 digital signature, it deletes Person's1 signature and inserts Person2's signature. How can I save the file so both signatures are retained?
I need help ASAP. It is driving me crazy.

    Hi,
You can't merge signed files because it modifies the PDF layer which would break the signature. One of the limitations of digital signatures is they are serial operations, that is one signature follows the previous signature. You cannot do this in parallel and merger the contents into one file. You could put the multiple files into a single Package (later renamed to Portfolio in Acrobat 9) file, but each signed copy would still be a stand alone file attachment within the Package.
The bottom line is, if you really need all of the different digital signatures in the same PDF file you need to send it to the first recipient, have them sign it, and then forward the file to the next recipient (or back to you).

  • Signature help???

I recently purchsed i phones for my family & for some reason the signature does not appear in any e-mails or posts??? I cannot find anything online or in the manual.  In setting it is there but it does not come through in e0mails or picutres I have uploaded on facebook. Please help.  My local retalier is currently of no use with the iphone.

Just a initial question are you geo-tagging or tagging on facebook or something along those lines ?
As for emails being sent to other people go to settings - mail, contacts, cal - scroll down to the signature area - select it and that should allow you to enter a email signature that works with your emails.

  • Email (online) - signature help

I can't find a help forum dedicated to emails. So am posting in here instead.
I cannot stand the new look email page when accessing btmail on the iPad. The screen is too big, the options have disappeared. I can no longer delete spam all in one go.
Anyway, I want to add my signature back on to my messages, but with no "options" button, I don't know how to.
Please can someone help. I checked the faqs but this question wasn't listed. It did recommend I click on the "need more help?," link....but there wasn't one!
Feeling very frustrated with Bt - please someone help.
    Thanks

If you are accessing BTMail on your Ipad via an email client, you will need to set up your signature on the email client if it allows you.
If you are accessing your email via a web browser it should have the signature set up the same as on your PC.
EDIT: If you are using Outlook that means you have set the signature up on that. It has nothing to do with BTMail. It's the Outlook program that adds the signature to your outgoing mail.

  • Entourage- Signature help

I am using Entourage and was wondering if there is a software out there that helps you make more dynamic signatures? My email signature is very plain and boring!

What exactly do you want to do? I use Entourage, and my signature contains bolds, underlines and 3 different colors. You can do the same...

  • Apple Mail - HTML Signature Help

I created a html signature that I assumed would work in Apple Mail, but when I send an email I get the images and links not showing up with blue ? appearing.  The signature looks fine in the signatures menu of my preferences.
    <Edited by Host>

Making a fancy HTML signature is a little more involved than that. It's not very user friendly. There are a number of tutorials on the internet for hacking them up. Here is one example: http://www.tuaw.com/2010/10/16/mac-101-making-a-fancy-signature-in-mail-app/ and there are many others.
PS - I have asked the hosts to remove all the personal information from your post. You don't want that there.
