Global Signature

Hi,
We have GW 8.01 on Netware OES.
We want to be able to set up Global Signatures so that they appear
both internally and externally. This works well from the Windows
client. I have also set Global Signature on the GWIA and it works on
external mail but does not work on internal.
Is there a way to get a global signature to work from web access to
our internal users?

  • 2012 Global Signature

    I know this question has been asked before, but management want me to query if we are missing any changes in the newer versions
    This issue is with what management calls signature stacking at the end of the email thread.
    Is there a switch in 2012 or 2014 to not apply Global signature upon a reply to an email?
    I understand that the composer in 2014 is changed to show the signature, can it be deleted at this time?
    Thanks
    Dan

    Hi Dan,
    There is no switch that I am aware of that will solve the problem as you describe it.
    Cheers,

  • Global signature help

    I have 3 different ones set up. I'm working with Novell as far as
    getting any changes to affect *all* emails without doing post office
    rebuild, but I have another issue I'd like to see about getting some
    help.
    I can't seem to get these signatures to 'act the same' on emails. I've
    had complaints about too many spaces, etc between the email and
    signature, so I'm trying to resolve this.
    If I take all the blank lines out of the top of the signatures,
    sometimes they will continue the last line of the email if the user did
    not hit <enter> at the end of their email.
    Also, the signatures have one blank line at the end of them, but on
    some emails they add 2 or 3 blank lines after the signature.
    I created & edit these in ConsoleOne as we're running GW2012sp2 (from
    March 2013). Clients are mainly win7 64bit at the same patch level.
    What gives? What can I do to get these to look the same on all emails?
    Stevo

    Hi Stevo,
    Several years ago I had issues with signatures not looking right - similar to what you are experiencing. It was also very sporadic. It was specifically the HTML signature, the text one seemed to work fine.
    After logging an SR with Novell we discovered that it was corruption in my ConsoleOne snapins. I redid the snapins, deleted and recreated the signatures and have never had a problem since. Admittedly we only apply global signatures to external mail.
    It probably won't hurt to recopy your GroupWise snapins back to your management PC/Server where you are running ConsoleOne.
    This is just my experience with signatures not applying correctly and might not apply to you.
    Cheers,

  • Global signature can't be overridden

    We've implemented global signatures, but some people need to be exempt
    from having them appended. However, setting the user to have "None"
    doesn't work - the signature gets tacked on anyway. According to the
    documentation, this is not as designed. Does anyone know how to make it
    work properly?

  • Global Signature question

    I am in the process of applying a global signature. While, I know that I can apply it to the PO, I would rather apply it on the user level. Is there a way to set multiple users Client Options to use the sig rather than opening each user and changing their options individually?

    Oops. Posted in the wrong category. I don't need GWIA assistance :)

  • Possible to add Global Siganture to end of Personal Sig.

    Is it possible to dictate where the Global Signature is placed? Currently the Global Signature is placed at the bottom of all outgoing email. For new email originating from our domain, it is not a problem. However, when replying to an email, our the Global Signature is being place at the very end of the email, making it appear as if our global signature is part of the original sender's signature.
    Changing the Reply Format option "Type my reply" to bottom instead of top would fix the issue, but would be a change that my users would not approve.
    Is it possible to prevent the Global Signature from being added to replies and forwards? This is how I thought is was supposed to work.
    Any suggestions?

  • SOAP Add Signature to outgoing email

    I have a working app that retrieves AddressBook/Contacts, properly sets up and sends email with attachments.
    Now I am trying to add the default signature to the outgoing message.
    I can successfully get the user's signatures and find the default signature, but I cannot figure out how to add it to the email. I have tried making a message part and adding that to the body with no success. I have read the javadocs, searched the sample code and read everything I can find about signatures in the forums, but I cannot make it work. Any help?
    Here's how I am getting the signature, if that helps:
    Holder<Signatures> signatures = new Holder<Signatures>();
    gwPort.getSignaturesRequest(true, signatures, status);
    if(status.value.getCode() != 0) {
    isError = true;
    errorMsg = status.value.getDescription();
    }else {
    Signatures usersigs = signatures.value;
    List<Signature> mySignatures = usersigs.getSignature();
    Signature mySignature = null;
    for(int x = 0; x < mySignatures.size(); x++){
    if(mySignatures.get(x).isDefault()){
    mySignature = mySignatures.get(x);
    if(mySignature != null){

    You have to read the signature and add it to you message body
    programmatically. There is no way to do it automatically.
    Is that what you are asking?
    Are you saying appending the signature to the message body is
    not working?

  • Confidential Notice as text attachment

    We have the text below included in the email after the message. If there are multiple replies this message is duplicated and duplicate and dulicated ....
    I'd like to add the following as a text attachment to all outgoing emails. How is this done?
    The message:
    CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE: This email and all attachments are confidential and may contain legally privileged and protected information from the XXXXXXXXXXXX intended solely for the use of the recipient(s) named above. If you are not the intended recipient, you are hereby notified that any review, dissemination, distribution, printing, copying, or the taking of any action in reliance on the contents of this email message and/or any attachments is strictly prohibited. If you have received this transmission in error, please notify the sender by telephone immediately and permanently delete this email [shred the document] and any attachments.
    Thanks

    I am confused. You alreadfy add it to the text body, from what you say.
    That is your ONLY built-in option - global signatures.
    Ok thanks. On some emails I recieve, not sure of the systems, the "confidentiality text" is not in the body of the message, but is an attachment. Thanks for the response.

  • BCC to sender

    I have been tasked with providing a common signature for all email in our company. This signature will include a company logo and other embedded graphics (links to social media, etc.) along with a confidentiality notice. This signature must show up on the sent item and be archived with the full signature on it.
    We have GroupWise 8 (8.0.3, with plans to upgrade to 2014 in a month or so). We have a single domain, single post office (83 mailboxes in use) with a single GWIA and Web Access. Mobile devices are synched through GroupWise Mobile Service. Email is archived through GWAVA Retain. The endpoints we need to have use this common signature are Windows, OS X, iOS, Android and of course the Web Access.
    The global signature works with the exception of the requirement "the sent email must have the signature" (proof that the confidentiality notice was attached).
    Is there a way to enforce sending a blind copy to the sender that would have the "global signature" attached?

    If you've setup sender_bcc rules in postfix then you already have what you need - just add the internal address to the sender_bcc configuration and you're done.
    sender_bcc doesn't differentiate between 'internal' and 'external' addresses - if the sender of the message is in the list, it copies the message. The 'sender' could be a local user, or a remote user. It doesn't matter.

  • Message worker threads maxed

    Hello,
    Friday I was experimenting with a global signature, assigned to the PO and trying to get it to work. In the the mean time the server abended. After rebooting I noticed that the signature started working but that the message worker threads where maxed out and messages started queueing in 4 and 5. I ran a post office repair over night and this morning things seemed better. I then turned off the global signature and now things are slow again and threads are again maxed out. Is this a normal behavior? Does the signature associate to every user in the PO? Or is something just wrong with my PO that I need to repair.

  • Contents of some mails get deleted when mails are forwarded

    TID 7001756 FLATFWD causes the contents of the mail to be deleted
    The combination of Flat Forward , Global Signature , HTML only Message , Original Message "Forwarded as Attachment" without typing anything in the body causes the mail contents to be deleted. If any of the above condition is not true, then the message contents are not deleted.
    It seems that this behavior comes back in GW 2012 SP2, with a modification: Forwarded as attachment works, simple forward does not works.

    I gave up on this (flatfwd, etc) because of this issue and now use
    Delegate to forward mail - so far so good
